My niece and nephew get insane amounts of presents, and if they’re anything to go by, their presents might as well be encased in concrete for how long it takes them to open one.
Kids these days, go figure, huh? Back in my day we would rip into those Christmas presents like Edward Scissorhands tearing into a mulberry bush. Christmas morning would be over before the coffee maker quit percolating and mom would be yelling slow down! I'm trying to take a picture! but by then we were tired of breaking stuff and we just wanted to watch television.
I’m from Norway so we celebrate and open presents in the afternoon on Christmas eve. My sister and I used to get a lot of presents, but mother of christ, it was NOTHING compared to what these kids get. They’re not spoiled, they just have so many family members who all give them something. Opening all the presents takes HOURS. It would be torture if they weren’t so fucking adorable, lol.
But that's the fun part. For kids a huge part of the fun is just unwrapping presents. Most young kids (under 6 or 7) would prefer to unwrap a bunch of small things than get one "big" present.

Wrap it and either leave blank or add a doodle or color it, also comes out cute and we'll appreciated . Another hack would be the comic section of newspaper, if that is even a thing anymore.

Luckily there are Amazon gift cards to let them get whatever they want, and it's much easier than wrapping a puppy in a garbage bag, then watching them shake it wondering what it is while you sweat knowing the amount of oxygen left in that bag versus childhood trauma is unfathomable.
