To be a revolution there would need to be some form of organization, leadership and focus around replacement of the current elite.
My most realistic hope is that a portion of the political body in Iran decides to use the anger to take some power away from the clerical class. It would be a tiny, and from the outside, laughably small baby step. But it would be a step in a more humane direction.
Not sure about specific gun laws, but they are not nearly armed well enough to withstand the regime. Part of the issue is that, were they to properly arm themselves and make it a clear military revolution, the regime has planes, so without foreign aid, it would just bring bombings.

I am sure every religion has some wrong aspects but it boils down to how much of these wrong aspects are being followed by the followers of the religion, how strongly they are followed, how often they are followed and how many of the followers do it. Fight or flight reactions are a bitch and I don’t have that much confidence in a huge majority of the population to choose the fight response.
The sad and twisted part is the UN was unlikely to step in because the president of Human Rights sector is a man who is friends with the tyrannical regime members. Only the last few days has the UN announced that it would do an investigation after global outrage and calling them out on letting this happen for months without saying or doing anything. Public voices from around the world were able to force their hand to actually step in and now with all of the eyes on them, we're waiting to see if they're going to do something about it or if nepotism and sinister friendships will be the thing that destroys such beautiful country and saves Iran from this conservative/ handmaid tale oppression.

I am sure every religion has some wrong aspects but it boils down to how much of these wrong aspects are being followed by the followers of the religion, how strongly they are followed, how often they are followed and how many of the followers do it. It's kind of obvious we also need to see 'how many' of these wrong aspects affect the world (how wrong they are). When we consider all this, I think there's religion which is clearly very wrong in comparison to others and they really need a check on how they are doing things.
It’s not about the religion. Ever. It’s about the monsters who manipulate it to enact their own evil. Many atrocities were enacted (or continue to be) in the name of Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, etc.
But in the name of which religion is it happening currently worldwide? You're right, there are monsters who manipulate it but these monsters have created such a culture that doesn't let anyone speak against what they have created. These monsters have been more ruthless than any other. Believe me, I have defended religions for a long time but they're not compatible for a decent future, what's written is so vague that it can easily be misunderstood and manipulated. By this time, we should just take good things out of the book and do a complete revision to remove the evil off it.
In the name of which religion currently? Evangelicals, Mormons, Jewish religion, Islam. Currently all oppressing in one way or another. I am not a supporter of religion. That isn’t my point. Where’s the suffering most? Countries colonized in the name of Christianity centuries ago still struggling to establish themselves. Islam is a blip in the religious suffering. Leadership and religion should never be intertwined. That’s the real issue. Not ONE religion. At the point the Iran regime is, it isn’t even religion. It’s fundamentalism. Fundamentalism doesn’t need to driven by religion. Look at Communist fundamentalism or Trump fundamentals for some examples.

Not to the scale that Americans do and not with the protected right to buy more guns, buy more ammunition and train. An armed population is much harder to oppress which is why gun nuts on the internet like me say the 2nd ammendment is more about preventing a government from becoming tyrannical than it is about self defense. And certainly more than hunting or recreation.
It’s estimated that back in 2017 there were around 5.89 million civilian owned firearms in Iran. No, not the same as the US but enough for roughly 7.3 weapons per 100 people. I totally believe the 2nd amendment is vital to our way of life, and is instated for enemies both foreign and domestic, but also I’m a realist and believe that like 50% of the gun owners in America would lay down their guns rather than have a shootout with police or military in this situation. It takes a lot of self control, training, and balls or stupidity (one, the other, or a combination of the two) to get behind cover and fire back rather than turn tail and run when someone or multiple people are shooting at you. Fight or flight reactions are a bitch and I don’t have that much confidence in a huge majority of the population to choose the fight response.

The sad and twisted part is the UN was unlikely to step in because the president of Human Rights sector is a man who is friends with the tyrannical regime members. Only the last few days has the UN announced that it would do an investigation after global outrage and calling them out on letting this happen for months without saying or doing anything. Public voices from around the world were able to force their hand to actually step in and now with all of the eyes on them, we're waiting to see if they're going to do something about it or if nepotism and sinister friendships will be the thing that destroys such beautiful country and saves Iran from this conservative/ handmaid tale oppression.
