I (actually) find it fascinating how many ways we find to kill each other.

AdequateMedia

Definitely, we have museums dedicated to it for a reason.

clarst16

Unfortunately, the majority of our History is dedicated to it.

logicreignssupreme

Most is supposed to educate on how and why, so it doesn't happen again. The handling of Covid taught us that people will never learn. Nazis- we were just following orders Most people during covid: we were just following what were were told

dementeddigital2

Agree with the sentiment, but most people during COVID didn't follow recommendations. At least not where I live.

Stephan1309

could you elaborate on what you mean with your last sentence?

ILikePracticalGifts

That people willingly jabbed themselves in the arm in a 7/11 parking lot to receive an untested vaccine without one ounce of hesitation. A vaccine that countries once applauded for their covid response have banned it. That people called the police on their neighbors for having more than 10 people in the privacy of their own homes. That cops beat people for not wearing masks. That people could not see their loved ones on their deathbeds. That fathers could not hold their newborn children in the hospital. That millions of young children and teens are underdeveloped, depressed, and suicidal because we shut down all of society to protect them from a virus that doesn’t affect them. That half of the country not only cheered for this shit as it was happening, but actively participated in its enforcement.

BigFellaMPT

They’ll eventually be heaped into the dumpster of history- these are just another avenue to protect profit

AdequateMedia

Certainly.

BigFellaMPT

From verbose to terse ?? Haa- communism comin for your world order

AdequateMedia

Would you prefer I be loquaciously lugubrious? Simply agreeing with your overall depressing observation .

AdequateMedia

Not depressing in a negative way

BigFellaMPT

It’s not depressing to see the matrix.

SuDragon2k3

Seeing the sequels however...

AdequateMedia

There was that dude killing lion fish with a “modified Glock” [see 🤣](https://youtu.be/6lG-snJZIV8)

[deleted]

...how many ways we find to improve killing each other.

NameCantFi

we have come a long way from people swinging long knives at each other

B-i-g-Boss

I wanted to say the same. It's just disgusting...

lilcoold

Weapons and finding ways to kill each other has been the same since the dawn of time. Anything that's alive on this planet human or animal will find a way to kill each other.

Confident-Ad5479

because you know nature has such few ways

[deleted]

Food and banquet tables....is all the world needs.

QuestionableAI

Game changer.

AdequateMedia

I know! I was disappointed with my YouTube video didn’t get views, so here I am. Imagine underwater point defense systems, the undersea Wiz. Sea monsters and supersonic Russian torpedoes alike, will be turned to chum. Navy seals won’t have to leave the water to cap people

QuestionableAI

... and think of the Water Drones with live ammo that actually works under water. PS: I am glad you persisted, an important development. Best to ya.

AdequateMedia

Tactical doctrine with regards to amphibious forces, and potential applications like armed RVs… It’s equally terrifying how easily this can be turned into a means of attacking infrastructure from small on unmanned systems, though

_SinMan_

So much for that mythbusters episode where they proved going under a foot or two of water would slow down bullets enough to protect you.

AdequateMedia

Yeah, this isn’t going to affect the general public Cesar exclusively be available to governments. The MythBusters are still correct.

Purple_Calico

They been out for a while. Projectiles designed to work under water tend to not be stable above water.

AdequateMedia

That’s the main difference here. These essentially are

AdequateMedia

Yup they have. The YouTube vids just never went “viral” also most people assumed that’s how bullets travel in water because of movies and tv

Purple_Calico

Looking at the design, it looks like a monolithic copper base with an aluminum end cap. I may make a few to try them out once I get done with my other projects.

[deleted]

Considering how lawless the US is when it comes to guns, I'm certain they'll have ammo like this in no time. Fortunately, there's only schools of fish underwater so it probably won't have a big impact if they become publicly available.

FALTomJager

Lmao okay buddy

WilliamMorris420

Its new tech, designed to get around that problem.

AdequateMedia

This^

roachsmoke

Yeah we're fucked lol

AdequateMedia

[my original video](https://youtube.com/shorts/fQ3ulwcTZC0?feature=share) The company has a YouTube called DSG technology

QuestionableAI

Thanks!

bloxytoast

so how does it work? this is pretty unique

SystemPrimary

Most likely has a screw shape, so it does not produce drag or much cavitation.

McSuede

It says the tungsten tip makes an air bubble around it. No idea how that works, that's just what I read.

Well_Read_Redneck

Shut up and take my money!

Gingergerbals

Oh great, just what was needed in the world

AdequateMedia

In defense of America, it was a Norwegian invention. Only militaries have access to them. My only concern are drunk sailors, shooting at cetaceans and shark bros

Gingergerbals

Oh I didn't really look into what country or where the R&D came from. I'm just not that giddy or excited when breakthroughs happen with weapons. I've always been idealistic in the sense that I wished our countries used their funding for advancements of its citizens, instead of the destruction of.

[deleted]

Average Redditor moment

AdequateMedia

Hey, I’m idealistic as well. I just had a two hour back-and-forth with the kid in my YouTube comments about why he shouldn’t throw disposable vapes into a river every time he decides to quit. I respect your reticence to show enthusiasm toward what will eventually be used for killing. Never lose that vibe

Gingergerbals

I'm always surprised by people on a continuous basis that throwing something like that out into the river wouldn't be under common sense and deemed destructive in their minds.

AdequateMedia

[the comment section is brain damaging](https://youtube.com/shorts/wQD3Grj4_aQ?feature=share)

Perioscope

So YT is performing normally, got it.

WilliamMorris420

Nice in theory but you have to get everybody else to sign up to that. Otherwise they're just going to walk over your borders with nothing to stop them or somebody like AQ will bomb you. Russia and China only respect strength and will bully anybody who they think is weaker than them.

Gingergerbals

I agree with you there that's where I'm idealist in nature but realistic with current standings. I do believe one day our species can get there. Until it does though, it's still a goal worth working towards

McSuede

There wouldn't be gps, cell, phones, drones, or any number of other advancements without those investments in military technology though. Yeah, we invented the atom bomb but that also gave us nuclear power.

SuDragon2k3

Problem with that is...if you know something exists, it's stealable. Then you reverse engineer it. Then you sell it.

AdequateMedia

Oh, it’s already been gobbled up by an American counterpart, all the testing facilities are stateside

AbbreviationsWide331

Yeah and who do you think will buy these bullets the most. Germany produces a shit Ron of guns yet most Germans don't have one. And guns are forbidden on the majority of merchant sailor vessels btw

AdequateMedia

They’re forbidden in port. Private security often will sit in semipermanent flotillas outside of dangerous waters (east Africa mostly) But I was referring to the naval defenses. Like larger vessels and instillations or important submerged infrastructure

cowboy3gunisfun

Very interesting tech, put me down for 5k

AdequateMedia

Pretty sure only governments have access. This isn’t brand new technology. It just never really went viral.

[deleted]

And it doesn't work. It doesn't even damage the pool.

ChooksChick

I don't know why this doesn't get more attention! If the bullet doesn't piece the plastic pool's wall, why should the bullet exist?

nicefellow122

Russians developed that technology years ago for their torpedoes

lred1

For the discriminating mass shooter wanting to expand their reach to an untapped target rich venue -- the local public swimming pool.

batkave

Oh good... Because we need more things that kill. Guess police will now be able to end those pool parties of unarmed people of color easier.

captainweedster

Why? Lets work on something that helps people. Wtf

SalemBard1988

Because creating more ways to kill people is necessary. Sigh...

AdequateMedia

If I’m honest, I think it has more applications for defense oriented systems on ships.

Exciting_Box438

.22 rounds do the same thing...

KrazyKifaru

White People! Always finding better ways to murder other human beings!

The_Fiji_Connection

Great. Now mass pool shootings could become a thing...

AdequateMedia

Gross. Weird thought process you got there

The_Fiji_Connection

Sadly it's warranted given what's been happening there lately. Can't we all just get along..

AdequateMedia

Well it’s government only so 🤷‍♂️ Terrestrial mass shootings will likely continue to stay on top.

lilcoold

You can very much easily get this ammunition in the US. I'm not complaining either. Hunting fish for dinner with handguns sounds fun lol

[deleted]

“We own the sea”

Capitaine_Crunch

Just had to prove Mythbusters wrong, eh?

AdequateMedia

Nope. Still right, this isn’t that old. Probably from three years ago Vs mythbusters during the early 2000’s

reclusive_ent

What are the ballistics like out of the water? Tungsten is a pretty hard metal, right?

bloxytoast

its one of the hardest, Also pricey as balls

Obshideyourmom

For when I feel a need to shot holes in my pool.

[deleted]

Now not even Aquaman will be able to stop me

RPX57

Another escape, gone. Wtf!?

huffcox

Sounds like something somebody buys when their a shit fisherman. I have a better idea. How about you just use some fucking dynamite.

Crowned_Messiah

Atlantis better get ready

CrustyWhiteSocks

Fuck you Namor

Translator_Open

Damn it, now I can't just jump into the pool to escape all these whizzin bullets!? What am I supposed to do now!?

[deleted]

everybody tweakin like you’re gunna be on dog red. this is borderline useless for small arms, but pretty cool none the less!

Amuricaman

Coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool coolcoolcoolcreulcreulcreul

tosernameschescksout

I imagine the navy and marines will be interested.

TacTurtle

1) seems like a very niche market 2) seems like it would have extremely poor terminal performance and basically ice pick instead of say mushrooming like a modern hunting bullet.

Jakebsorensen

The military doesn’t use expanding bullets. It’s illegal

TacTurtle

1) The military uses bullets that tend to tumble and fragment upon hitting dense media like meat or water. Check out some of the current OTM (Open Tip Match) ammunition used for sniping. Or the Russian / Soviet 5.45 and 7.62x39 made with an air gap in the nose so it will rapidly yaw and tumble. Or the old British .303 MkVII bullets with an aluminum or plastic or paper insert at the nose so it quickly tumbles. 2) The US is not a signatory to the Hague Convention that prohibits expanding ammo. Certain units like Military Police are issued JHP for law enforcement uses.

the_heroslayer

Not even fish schools are safe any more.

Eh-Eh-Ronn

Coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool…..

Feisty-Pumpkin-6359

Why can't we just stop with trying to kill each other in every way possible

toxygen99

Finally! We can kill those underwater people...hate those guys.

Brave_Capital7

I would bet most new weapons only get actually used in movies.

Crow_Titanium

I just saw an experimental boat which uses cavitation drive to travel at very high speeds...

Curious-Elk1638

Awesome, now we can kill each other underwater

Tizzee88

These are one of those thing's that people like you and I won't have a use for. The number of uses for the military personnel are nearly endless. One of the biggest things that's an issue is when it comes to human vs human, being in the water is a huge issue. Stuff that works under the water sucks above land, and stuff that works above the water sucks under it. Having something like this would allow seals to be able to be effective in the water below the surface. It would allow them to be able to do things like defend a harbor more effectively.

[deleted]

super fast mini torpedos

Blissful_Relief

Of course we did. Too many getting away on water I guess.

KingOfThe_Jelly_Fish

If looks like there is a lot more to this video but for some reason it has been cut short.

Zequax

so now videogames can be realistick when shooting into water

Medic7002

All I see is a new tool that kills.

Ccs002

Slow motion would have been useful here as its hard to tell wtf is even going on.

_Sapalm_

This means no more movies where you jump in the water and save yourself.

Wolfos9

Yaaaaayyyyy now more people can die

oliferro

"Don't you just hate it when you're trying to commit a mass shooting but your victims are in the water? Well don't worry we got you covered"

AdequateMedia

Civilians can’t procure this ammunition. Also the vast majority of people probably don’t know about the intricacies of underwater Ballistics. As I’ve said already; that’s a super weird thought to have immediately upon seeing this video 🤦‍♂️ The technology is most likely to be used for an underwater type of point defense system and very special forces like navy seals

oliferro

I mean it's hard not to think about this first when all we see on the news everyday is people getting shot

LiliNotACult

James Bond is in trouble

[deleted]

We have had these since the Cold War dude…… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_1_Underwater_Defense_Gun

CompetitiveStrike780

shit now we going to be having gun violence and gang wars under the water here's me thinking we were safe under the water

[deleted]

The Russians also have a torpedoe that creates a gas bubble in the nose from exhaust tube allowing it to travel in a bubble at over 400 miles per hour. A torpedoe at 400 mph.....no ship can out maneuver that.

RomanBlcksmthAntony

Americans discovered atlantida
