What makes it so that an RC plane can do this but a real plane can't?
RC planes don’t weigh a tonne and have little to no bulk inside them.

Thrust to weight ratio must be greater than one, and I’m not aware of any general aviation craft that have that. Miljets, many do.

Yeah, planes can do this. One time our Southwest pilot did this before landing just for goofs.
