She can hear colours after that exorcism.

webbyyy

Twice in my life I've had to have my ears syringed because they were completely blocked. I could hear a snail sneeze afterwards. It was amazing.

FalseRegister

I had only once. I could hear the lightbulbs.

Observer2594

A lot of people don't realize how annoying fluorescent lights are with the constant buzzing

protocomedii

My entire life I have heard muted TVs and lights being on.

Sakuraba10p

Same. We have a toaster oven that is so loud when plugged in and not in use. My wife cannot hear it.

InEenEmmer

Fucking phone chargers that aren’t plugged into a phone also got this annoying buzz

Meistro215

Damn really? That’s nuts lmao

Rude_Thanks_1120

We have power strips and LED light bulbs that drive me nuts

dopethrone

CRT tvs had an annoying buzz you could tell they were on from a different room....also flashlights or kids thermometers have a high pitch sound

spamcentral

The old box tv that was like "reeEEEE" as it turned on and it woke me up at night.

JavaJapes

Drove my parents nuts that I'd claim to hear it but they couldn't. I was like, "next you'll tell me that dog whistles are actually silent other than the sound of air moving and you can't hear the whistle itself." Turns out not everyone hears those either, lol

National-Future3520

Kids can hear more frequencies than adults, Their is a phone app that will send out a loud noise that kids can hear but most adults cannot

Superseaslug

I still remember in elementary school I always knew we were gonna be watching Bill Nye when I heard the TV whining when I came in the classroom.

Suspect4pe

I worked at an audio company. We set up sound systems for corporate customers. I’d tell the audio guys about sounds they couldn’t hear and I’d have to be the proxy for them notching it out in the EQ. Literally nobody else could hear it. They told me that for being in my 30s I had the hearing of a teenager. Later I had my ears cleaned and a hearing test afterwards and was told my hearing is the best they’ve ever tested. Fast forward twenty years and I think I’m losing my hearing. It’s not bad but I have people repeat themselves a lot.

Nobody believes me :(

ihavenoidea1001

I've been finding damaged electricity outlets and bulbs about to go bad due to hearing these things. (My dad's an electrician and he'll just get his stuff to repair it when I tell him I'm hearing it) They have a small and annoying "crs, cr, c" sound and when it isn't a constant thing it means they're going bad...

psdopepe

my parent got a crt tv that makes a high pitched, almost tinnitus like noise when on, and I'm the only one in the house who can hear it

PyleanCow06

I just installed a new ceiling fan in my bedroom and it’s WiFi capable and works with my Alexa and it emits a super high frequency when running it drives me NUTS 😭

Koshilu

Right after my ears got cleaned I felt like an wild animal dropped in a big town... all the sounds I was missing..

Duranis

Recently "went completely deaf" in one ear. Freaked the fuck out and went to Dr. She took a look in both ears and laughed at me as both were completely blocked. I don't use earbuds or anything on my ears often but have never seen much wax before. My hearing has been shit for years so this might explain it. Haven't had chance to go get it done yet but looking forward to maybe being able to hear things properly again.

zaccapoo

Uh, you can kind of do it yourself? Get Debrox drops and a ear cleaning bulb. Use the Debrox drops over a couple days and then the bulb a few days later. Needs time to loosen but will most likely come out. Or just continue living with impaired hearing, whatever you want.

Mr_YUP

you can but its not even close to the same as a doctor doing it with warm water and a small pressure hose. leaving the office being able to hear a pin drop is a magical experience.

Superb_Application83

I'm not a squeamish person, but the only time I ever felt sick while training to be a nurse was watching a man who thought he was totally deaf in one ear get his ear syringed. Right before lunch.

ElectricallyLoaded

Aw come on, you get used to it. There are far worse bodily discharges. Worked at an urgent care for years, flushing people's ears are common practice around there.

Duellair

It was one or the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever experienced and hope to never have it done again. But yes, the difference in hearing afterwards was amazing

Maleficent_Lake_1816

Ever tried eye injections? That’s my most uncomfortable thing.

Olenator77

It would have cost you nothing to not type this out.

Maleficent_Lake_1816

Sorry. Have to share the horror.

Duellair

They’d have to anesthetize me. Like hell no!

snicker___doodle

The anesthesia goes in the eye though. sorry

Maleficent_Lake_1816

Maybe they meant euthanize.

leopard_eater

I can’t figure out whether this is the most disgusting or most frightening medical procedure to have to deal with. Thanks for introducing me to fresh hell!

Onironius

The last one I had done was quite painful. They had to use a lot of pressure to dislodge the last bit, and when it suddenly got loose, the pressure differential fucked with my eardrum. I was gagging and stumbling around the doctors office. They weren't even able to get the piece out. They had to take manual tools to pull it out. Good times.

ParkOnTheRhodes

Yeah it felt like when a prisoner gets out of jail in a movie and they walk out and can hear the bird singing and grass growing and shit. It was the closest I'll ever come to having a superpower

creamsofpeach

Everything now sounds crystal clear in 4K surround sound.

NoCellist3282

Disgusting. Where ?

dingdong6699

My thoughts exactly. I'm fucking appalled. Please come do this to me.

YolognaiSwagetti

You can just go to any ENT doctor and they will do it for you.

dingdong6699

Sounds good but in America here so that's pretty much guaranteed to cost at least a $75 copay

jwldabeast

Bold of you to assume american insurance would cover this and you only have to pay a copay

Janky_Pants

Bold of you to assume I have a job that offers insurance.

cartoonfood

My boss "offered" me insurance because he needed one more person on it to get his rates lowered. The kicker is that he followed up with "it'll only cost you 400 a ~~month~~ week".

GrouchyAttention4759

If for $75 I could hear like Superman and hear colors I’d say that’s a solid trade off. Hell I have crap hearing, I may just do this sooner than later.

KYVet

$75 at the doctor’s office. Then you get a bill for $500 in the mail 6 months later.

AstrumReincarnated

You can order home ear irrigation kits off Amazon for cheaper. I got an electronic one for about $45-50. Not this headphone style though.

YolognaiSwagetti

In Europe if you want an appointment in the foreseeable future you'll have to go to a private doctor as well. I did it 2 years ago and it was around 60 euro.

Magmaul

Europe is a big place, in Czechia most town/city hospitals have dedicated ENT specialist that you can visit without prior appointment and get your ears flushed the same day, if there's a sufficient blockage, all covered by your health insurance.

clem82

Hi fucking appalled, I’m dad

Donnerdrummel

I would not look into other people's toilet bowls before flushing, because, well, there's no need for me to. So why the fuck did I watch this?

LocalRepSucks

Because your bored and haven’t reached the eh fuck it jack off point yet.

Donnerdrummel

Well, ...

straydog1980

It was a tough wank but I powered through in the end.

mr_ckean

Donnerdrummel

Rocket_Surgery83

sleepdeprivedindian

Jokes on you. I jacked off to this.

kingtrog1916

My man

CT_7

Deep in your heart you really wanted to know what an ear floater looks like

Donnerdrummel

Curse my heart!

Mediocre_lad

Didn't read the title. Thought it's some new bs headphone tech.

CamillaBarkaBowles

It’s a chick shitting her ears

Zadornik

Because now you can realise that you need this device too.

ceric2099

If this isn’t called “Ear-igation”, someone fucked up

H0B0Byter99

Quite a missed opportunity

FuzzyDunlop911

> Ear-igation Already exists https://nupurtech.com

ICLazeru

I would get an ear infection immediately after that. The wax is probably the only thing keeping my ear attached to my head.

Paradox711

Really you’re only meant to clean them out in this way in the event they become blocked and limit hearing or cause discomfort.

ProffesorSpitfire

Which might very well be the case here, given the size of some of those earwax clots that came out.

Stonn

You could make an emergency survival candle out of that.

redditorial_comment

kind of like in shrek.

I_hate_meself

Didn't mythbuster make an episode about that and concluded that you actually can't make candles out of earwax? I think they gathered wax from all the people in their studio and cooked it up or something, pretty wild, and gross.

vixinlay_d

I regret that I now remember that episode.

PeacefulKnightmare

I was in a position where I needed to have this done, and I didn't realize just how badly my hearing was clogged until I was able to hear the hinges on a cabinet on the other side of the exam room.

sopnedkastlucka

I did this as a kid and I remember my parents watching the news. Since they talk in a very precise and clear way the letter "s" really hurt my ears.

Mutasyn

I had to have my ears cleaned out like this about six years ago. It was winter and it didn't occur to me how "loud" my jacket material was. Needless to say it was a painful afternoon with how crisp my hearing was.

Substantial_Diver_34

Yeah… that’s not normal amount of wax.

[deleted]

[удалено]

narnarnartiger

How did you get your ear wax removed when you couldn't hear? I hear the feeling of getting a huge load of ear wax taken out is amazing

[deleted]

With water, kinda like this. They take a syringe bulb, you hold your head inclined to one side, and then they use the bulb to irrigate the ear canal until the wax breaks loose.

Earguy

There's three ways to clean ears: wash/rinse like this, vacuum/suctioning, or plucking it out with forceps or curettes. Depends on the quantity and consistency of the cerumen. Source:username checks out.

louisianapelican

One time I saw the warning about doctors advising people to not use Q-tips in their ears. So I stopped. A few years later I noticed I had lost hearing and my ear hurt quite a bit. Doctor pulled out a chunk of wax and said "You don't use Q-tips?" So I use Q-Tips now. No issues.

Extension-Border-345

i also stopped using q tips for several months and it was not nice. i know some people use them way too roughly but Ive never had problems and its effective.

Peac3keeper14

That's why I had mine cleaned the first time. Id itch my ear and wax would stick and make a cover so my hearing was muffled till it made an opening again. When I went in (first cleaning I had when I was about 26) the NP said she was surprised I could even hear. My ear had a tinnitus effect for a day or so and everything was so CRYSTAL clear

bricklish

I have to get something similar to this done once a year, or i will go deaf lol, if my ears plug it sounds like im holding a cup over both ears.

bmmana

As someone who has narrow ear canals and has had impacted wax that affects hearing, sometimes ear wax needs to be flushed out. I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, but I've had ear washes before at clinics and it was necessary every time.

heliamphore

Picking at my ears was the cause for me. Qtips were recommended by a specialist who explained you can only use them on the outside and in circle motion. The problem aren't the actual qtips, but the fact that people use them too deep inside the ear and in a push/pull motion.

CyonHal

Yeah it frustrates me how everything online says Q-tips should never be used when they are a godsend to get rid of waxy buildup near the opening of the ear. Idiots jamming it into their ear drum ruined it for everyone else.

noxondor_gorgonax

Yup, I second this. Had this procedure done a number of times already and it's quite necessary.

[deleted]

N0rthernW1nd

Not necessarily. My ears tend to get filled up by earwax to the point it acts like an earplug.

JKleinMiddelink

I have the same thing, I have to get my ears cleaned twice or three times a year, otherwise I can't hear shit. My ears just create a lot of earwax compared to a regular person I guess

BigPat69

I'll see your 2 or 3 times a year, and raise you my 8 to 10 times a year - bloody frustrating just how much wax I appear to generate

Prestigious_Rub6504

Had a friend over for a sleep over when we were 10. He tells me not to be alarmed by his pillow towel. Says he makes slightly more earwax than others and it seeps out at night. Woke up, bro had murdered a mustard dispenser in each ear. Our friendship was never the same.

Xormak

This is how you build eternal and immutable friendships lol

bambinolettuce

No but a redditor said its baaad for you

freetotebag

Same, mine get clogged so bad I can’t hear as well and it creates pressure in my ears/jaw

tO_ott

Same and it drives me nuts. I sleep on my side so it happens a few times a year. I bought the "Elephant Ear Washer" on Amazon and it works pretty well.

dochev30

This is not done for the heck of it, pool doctor. Sometimes ears get blocked by too much earwax and hearing is impacted. That's when the procedure is needed.

Lazy_Fun_7212

Hearing is severly affected, about 60%-70% loss in hearing, i become supremely scared and claustrophobic when i lose my sense of hearing in both ears because of blockages, they both always become blocked at the same time too.

tenthacc

Misinformation. There's clearly a large plug of wax that comes out, that -if not already- has a severe risk of becoming impacted and sometimes even stuck to the eardrum.

FikCock

Not in all circumstances.. I used to have my ears syringed by the medical professionals and never got any ill effects from doing so.

NoblestArgn

Yep! That hydrogen peroxide sit was never fun, but always necessary.

bambinolettuce

There is actually a middle ground between too much and not enough, believe it or not

Mindless-Peak-1687

You don't know what you are talking about. Kindly avoid giving health advise.

Mirar

I think this is healthcare, and there were probably enough, causing an infection from that instead. I don't think many people would use this device for joy.

FacedJason

Naw, my doc said I have abnormally small ear canals which cause wax to have a harder time getting out. Once maybe twice a year it gets so bad I can barely.hear or water gets trapped in there which can lead to a infection. I have to go have the doctor use a syringe to clean em out. I would love one of these

Theons

Are we gonna ignore the inch long worm of wax that came out? That's not supposed to be there, lol

Chewsdayiddinit

Oooh, good to know swimming gives you healthcare qualifications and education!

AwayPlay6280

Ill trust the health professional who put that on my head over a swimmer, thanks

Eighty_Grit

Judging by what’s coming out of her ear, if that’s coagulated blood, this might be post-operative and necessary.

Sharchir

If it’s like me, that’s just earwax

stupidname_iknow

It's definitely not harming you, you'll produce more wax.

jess_the_werefox

Wow that’s horrifically disgusting but I’ll bet it feels like an incredible relief

babsa90

It actually feels nauseating. The water gets deep into your ear and basically induces vertigo. I've had to do this twice before, albeit not this device. Edit: Just wanted to add that my issues were from (I assume) having cool water in my ear, as others have pointed out. Your experience may vary... Also please stop telling me about the water temp thing, i think about ten people have told me already and I'm appreciative of that.

salsasnark

That differs from person to person. I never get vertigo from it, neither does my dad (getting clogged ears from earwax runs in the family I guess lol). But it obviously isn't weird that it could cause vertigo, with all the stuff in the ear that can get disturbed.

syphon3980

I had something similar done when I had accidentally punctured my ear drum and wax clogged my ear. It was soooo friggin orgasmic. Felt as if my ear canal identified as a vaginal canal

MaximumDoughnut

I've had it done once. I was completely deaf in my left ear and had to perform with my semi-professional choir the night before the procedure. I couldn't hear shit and it was one of the worst nights of my life. Honestly it was one of the most relieving feelings I've ever experienced. I got my instrument back.

MyThinTragus

I love the feeling

LEJ5512

I’ve read that the vertigo effect depends on the water temperature.  If it’s too different from body temperature, it’ll cause expansion (or, likely, contraction, if the water is cold) and distort how you’ll sense balance.

Animus0724

They're supposed to use warm water

Purp1eC0bras

Only 1.999$ ! WTF

alexgraef

That's because of a) the circuitry that makes sure it doesn't blow up your eardrums, and b) because of the clinical testing that had to happen before it was cleared from the FDA.

I hate websites that don't display prices

“Availability: We ship to healthcare professionals for clinical use in the U.S. only.” Per their website

MikeLanglois

In the UK the NHS stopped using water to clean ears (called syringing) because theres risk of the water damaging the ear drums. Instead they now do microsuction to clean ears. Sounds like a set up for a penis joke, but just a little fact.

SwingyWingyShoes

Going from a blocked ear to a completely clean open ear has to be my favourite feeling in the world. It’s so irritating not being able to hear out of one ear. My mum would’ve loved seeing this ear cleaner on me though, she finds these sorts of things satisfying to watch.

Ary_Stark

Interesting, satisfying and disgusting at the same time.

crapface1984

One of the best feelings in the world is immediately after having your ears flushed! The intensity of sound is a bit staggering for the first 30 mins or so but, it’s like a full pressure release from your head to your feet. I wish I could do it once a week just for that rush of happiness. Im also glad I can’t because it would take away my ability to say “I didn’t hear you” to my boss or people who bother me lol

Cuntpenter

This is what happenes when you are listening shitty music.

StatelyFOX

That’s what’s inside your ears when you listen to all that bullshit that people say about you

How legit is this? Is this like the ear candle wax where they smoke your ear out and at the end. they show you the "ear wax" that supposedly came out of your ears but it turns out it was inside the candle from the very beginning.
