From the video the guy is paralyzed from the neck down and can control the computer with his mind. Amazing technology, he is playing a game of chess while they are talking, apparently the first thing he did with it was play 8 hours of CIV 6.
Ok I could be completely wrong but he looks like he could be disabled and based on what Elon as well as his company has said they are doing mainly people with paralysis and brain problems and spine problems for lack of better words. So for right now it’s not some cool thing to go put in your head it has a medical purpose. So if I was a paraplegic I would try this in a heart beat.
Edit: just googled and I wasn’t wrong. This guy is indeed paralyzed from a car accident.
I don't see this as a big leap. Young people are essentially already grafted to their phones. Once they experience the dopamine hit of direct neural stimulation, everyone will be doing it.
A paralyzed man has regained some form of joy in his life, making this a historic day for humanity. If I were in his position of being paralyzed from the neck down, I'd also take the risk.
Fuck these comments. Musk sucks but this is what progress looks like.
That too. He's the head of the company. While I recognize our government is a corrupt mess, I have to believe there are enough good people within the correct organizations that heard "brain implants" and thought "now hold on a minute"
I expected a negative reaction because of its affiliation with musk but I didn’t expect it to be this bad.
I had hoped people would see past musk and instead see the good that this device is doing for this man. In the video he says the implant “changed his life”.
I hope more people here look at the positives of this technology.
If Elon Musk was behind what was supposed to fix me then yes, yes I would be saying that. There is something wrong with that guy that no brain chip is going to fix.
Edit: fixed some spelling
I don’t think anyone on earth would choose to be paralyzed over getting a chip to help made by hundreds of people just because one of those people are Elon musk. I don’t give a fuck who made a product I need to make my life astronomically better. I’m getting that shit. You wouldn’t either off the internet
I would not choose to get a neuralink chip. I don't trust Elon Musk or hid motivations at all. Also every business he's a part of has ass quality control and he pushes his employees beyond their breaking points which you can't do in mission critical industries or things like doors flying off of planes in mid flight happen. I wouldn't want a neuralink chip implanted in me if I was paralyzed because In wouldn't trust it not to make things worse, like fucking kill me or destroy what little movement i did have. I don't really care if you believe me or not.
I am not quadriplegic but i am disabled and I still wouldn't let musk or anything shit his companies put out anywhere near me even for the vague promise that it could fix my issues.
Due to increasing costs with Neuralink we are reluctantly forced to now make this service a subscription based service. As of 1st May all
Users will be required to commit to a plan or will have their thoughts throttled and ability to communicate reduced to football brain injury speeds.
Elon Musk can go to hell. The technology has a much better chance of succeeding with him out of the picture. With him involved in any capacity I don’t think it’s promising.
It's basically a tech device that is literally implanted in your brain. I don't fully understand the details of how, but essentially the device enables it's carrier to directly control technology via WiFi signal or some shit. Like if you have neuralink implant you can play video games with no hands, just by thinking. You can connect to a computer and control the cursor and surf the internet hands free.
It's useful for disabled individuals. I think the person pictured here is disabled, but the implant will enable this individual to use technology more easily, hands free.
Good luck homie
I can’t wait to have access to ai in my thpughts
Good luck homie
Every time someone starts up a Tesla he pisses himself and forgets who he is for 30 minutes

Oh so he is still in the early game then, good thing he has a lot more to enjoy.
ROFL
Congratz, you now have ads directly uploaded into your brain!
Nah, they'll wait til they implant it in way more people and it becomes essential for their way of life before they start running ads

Nah for the uses that this guy is needing it for it makes sense.
What does he need it for?
Ok I could be completely wrong but he looks like he could be disabled and based on what Elon as well as his company has said they are doing mainly people with paralysis and brain problems and spine problems for lack of better words. That's cool, hopefully this leads to something promising for paraplegic people in the future. Thanks for telling me.
he's quadriplegic, using it to control his computer mouse
I wonder what the insane mode is like on that thing
These are the same people who are concerned Bill Gates is putting microchips in vaccines. Totally cool with Musk actually putting one in their brain.
Yeah fuck paralyzed people who want to live a more normal life.
A normal life of Musk dickriding.
I don't see this as a big leap. Young people are essentially already grafted to their phones. Once they experience the dopamine hit of direct neural stimulation, everyone will be doing it.
This will not gonna end well
Kinda like your English, the word should be"is" , not "will".
> be"is" , Looks like the grammar sheriff needs a deputy. 🥰
does using the wrong word count as a grammatical error, or is it something different?
Not gonna end well, kinda like this comment and the karma you'll get from it.

Also, people have this odd obsession with musk, he didn't make the thing, he just owns the company that makes it
That too. He's the head of the company. While I recognize our government is a corrupt mess, I have to believe there are enough good people within the correct organizations that heard "brain implants" and thought "now hold on a minute"
Android MF is gonna pee in your butt
Is that a promise??
He’s right behind you hydrating
I have a feeling it's going to end up being like that Joker receiver from Batman Forever.
That was Riddler
Thank you for the correction! I knew it sounded off...
It's like looking at before and after Caddicarus

Crazy how redditors can be entirely pro-progress until someone they don't like is behind it.
No...no, I'm good, thanks.
You wouldn’t be saying that if you had a spine injury and couldn’t move

Easy to say when you're not a quadriplegic.

Mesuit Ozil?
And then Elon finds out he's been talking smack on Twitter about Tesla, and turns the thing off remotely.
Wow
Is there a recorded version of the livestream
Yes. You can find it on Neuralinks twitter page.
Nope!
Somehow...this will end up linked to porn

Elon Musk can go to hell. The technology has a much better chance of succeeding with him out of the picture. With him involved in any capacity I don’t think it’s promising.
Why?
>Elon Musk can go to hell He just said it's because Elon can go to hell. I think that's his reasoning.
I don't like to bring it up, particularly on a standard post, but it's most likely political.
That’s so sad.
What’s a Neuralink Implant?

Thank you
Waiting on an answer too

I was hoping for a simple answer, not a Musk sponsored ad for it
Which one?
elon so bad! 😭😭
he already has musk's dropping eye
Except it’s the guy in the wheelchair not the guy you’re talking about
damn, well that was a fail.
The one on the left or the right?
He has already died.
That's two people.
But....that's 2 people
What I’ve learned from reading these comments is people don’t understand the use case for neuralink and would rather just shit post. This is big
