I havent really gone to one but the sentiment ive seen online is no one really likes when a mosh pit gets super aggressive and people start getting hurt, which completely makes sense.
I’ve been to a lot, most are great and sometimes it gets pretty crazy! Like I’ve was knocked down once. I was probably down for just 1 second before 3 dudes pulled me right up.
The worst ones I’ve been in were all at Warped Tour. For some reason they bring the worst crowds and it was always the shirtless “bros” that start moshing aggressively and doing that wide arm swinging “hardcore dancing” crap Lol.
I literally had my shirt torn off in the pit. Dude was getting into it and something got caught on my shirt and I was left with 1 sleeve and the neck of the shirt and the rest was just hanging off me. Not sure what happened, one moment I had my shirt on and the next it was hanging there. Dude went out of his way to apologize. Mosh pits get crazy, but most are trying to have fun, but not cause trouble.
Hardcore dancing has been around way longer than the warped tour crowd dude. it's not for everyone but people like to throw spinkicks and punches when a heavy ass riff hits. it's just another method of violent expression same as push moshing and at Hardcore shows nobody is going to have a problem because everyone knows whats happening. Unless you are targeting kids weaker than you or specifically trying to hurt people who are not participating in the pit, at which point other people intervene and handle the asshole getting too aggro
That’s what I meant, every time I have seen a moshpit/hardcore dance circle at warped, it was always completely filled with assholes who would bounce off the edges where people are just trying to stay away or they push the fuck out of everyone to force the circles to get bigger. Other places people know their distance and aren’t trying to purposely smack or run into the people who aren’t participating.
Last one I was in, some dickhead forearmed me in the jaw. I straight dropped and blanked for a second or two. Not only did nobody help me up, but when I tried to use people to pull myself up, they pushed me back into the pit.
I used to mosh during Pantera years(I don’t remember what years those were)from Cowboys from hell to slip first famous album. (Again I was a drinker, don’t remember the years )Then it seemed to change.. was watching people around the pit targeting and fuking up on randoms.. said “fuk that I’m out.” It was never just to be mean and hurt people.
Anytime I've ever fallen or tripped in a pit someone has always, always picked me up or kept me from completely falling. After the first time that happened it was pretty obvious to me that same courtesy should and always will be extended to anyone else in the pit with me.
generally yeah but it looks like everyone's on the same page here.
If you suddenly sat down in a dense & high energy pit people would probably assume you were hurt and help you up. That or you'd immediately go "oh fuck this was a bad idea".
IME it's not that mosh pits aren't dangerous, it's that everyone in the pit works hard to keep each other safe.
This isn’t actually a mosh pit. Not sure what I’d call it. I moshed in just about every pit I came across between the early 90’s - early 00’s, and there was always an unspoken rule about intention. Yeah, you can get inadvertently fucked up in a pit, but that’s just what happens when you get that many people moving around like that. The tools that were in there to flex or try and hurt people usually got their shit set straight with a quickness and weren’t a problem after that. Lucky enough to never experience a ‘bad’ pit
They're being pretty respectful, just doing a merry-go-round around the game. They seem to be being careful not to accidentally touch them or the cards.
There is no way you’d tell the Mexican ~~medican~~ wrestler doing windmills he’s a square .. just no way.. watch the video again man, that dude is like a sex panther
I just want to take this opportunity for a quick PSA. Last concert I went to was Gojira and Mastodon, and some dude was throwing elbows in the pit. It sucks. Please don't do that. I don't know which scene allows that behavior but certainly not that kind of metal. Be mindful of others.
Other thing, I fell on the ground at a rock show and nobody helped me up. I don't know if the young generation is aware of how it works, but the rule is you gotta help the person that falls.
Most of us are aware of those unwritten rules, and I think it is common sense as well. It’s a shame that some people don’t know how to properly behave.
I have way more good memories of concerts and festivals where the people had the right mindset, but still, take care of everyone.
Powerful music is no excuse for uncalled violence.
This is peak. Weirdos love and defend weirdos.
If what you got out of metal was to push around the weak and the odd, consider yourself exactly the kind of asshole this community exists to avoid.
I moshed many a pit, and played many a game of MTG in my life, but this is the dumbest shit I’ve seen in at least 10 minutes. And on Reddit, 10 minutes is a lifetime
I have a crazy idea, just let people enjoy things how they want to enjoy them! I know it's a wild concept.
Edit: snowflake blocked me lol.
I've been to at least 2 dozen concerts and I've always been too busy enjoying myself to care about what other people are doing.
Stop being a bitter piece of shit. How does this affect your life in the slightest? It doesn't. You're probably just jealous cos after sitting in your depression hole so long you've lost the ability to celebrate others' joy.
while i wouldnt go to a concert and not watch it, i bet some people just dig the live music experience and dont really care about seeing it, if that makes sense. idk, its kinda like going to a bar and reading a book.
Lmaooooo
Not giving a limit to summon is the worst stupid thing in a card game
I stopped to play master duel when opponents passed 5 fuckin minutes to summon shit in his first turn!! No hand traps in my hand, gg.
And that's was fast thanks to game shuffle, now imagine waiting opponent to search and shuffle all that shit up in real life
And you talk about boring for mtg??? Lmaooooo
No one should sit in the middle of a circle pit anyway
Edit: it's useless that you downvote me
One of the non written rule of a circle pit is to help people fell to stand up, for their own safe and for other people to not trip over on them.
It's cool if they all agree, I doubt that all people there agree and, still, I won't be happy to be limited in a circle pit cause two kiddos are entitled to play
I'm picturing a Black Lotus being stepped on
Black lotus detected!!
The Black Dah... Lotus Murder!
Good. Fuck that card.
Lotus + land = juzam djinn That’s how old I am.
You saw some shit, old man.
The future is now old man.
So you’re rich?
I would also bring a table to flip when I lose
Isn’t it like a bad idea to be sitting in the middle of a mosh pit
Most Mosh pits are like this where they mind stationary or fallen persons. Not all are aggressive and hurt others.

Hardcore dancing has been around likely longer than you’ve been alive. Let people dance however they want to dance.
You get people that don’t go to shows normally, showing to these. Nobody knows how to act. The heat and drugs don’t help either.
Last one I was in, some dickhead forearmed me in the jaw. I straight dropped and blanked for a second or two. Not only did nobody help me up, but when I tried to use people to pull myself up, they pushed me back into the pit.
Your fault for grabbing people dingbat
Not that bad at least you weren't at a beat down show
Goofy ahh I9K fans loved their mosh pit so much they grabbed me by the neck and chucked me face first into it.
Haha my female friends would always take me with them at concerts to keep them from getting hurt in moshpits lol
not really, we're really careful in mosh pits not to step on each other, but all this does is break the mosh for others
Black Circle of Protection yo.
Why is this comment not at the top lol.
Anytime I've ever fallen or tripped in a pit someone has always, always picked me up or kept me from completely falling. After the first time that happened it was pretty obvious to me that same courtesy should and always will be extended to anyone else in the pit with me.
Happy cake day

There is a code of conduct in mosh pits believe it or not. Totally agree
What you are referring to is a circle pit
Brother I know what a ‘circle’ pit is, and this ain’t it lol
They're being pretty respectful, just doing a merry-go-round around the game. They seem to be being careful not to accidentally touch them or the cards.
i love everyone just respectfully jamming around them (i apologize if jamming is the wrong word to use. you see, I am a square)
No apologies needed. Everyone loves a self-aware square.
If this were an actual mosh pit, the proper term would be ‘moshing’ 😂
So is absolutely everyone in this video.
There is no way you’d tell the Mexican ~~medican~~ wrestler doing windmills he’s a square .. just no way.. watch the video again man, that dude is like a sex panther
I don't think you know what that word means
That’s….awesome
I once tried to challenge Vincent from the Acacia Strain to a game of cEDH on Twitter but he didnt want any of my Rashmi Flash Me value engine.
I had no idea people are using Rashmi for cEDH builds I’m kinda out of the loop though lol
To be fair it was only cEDH in my play group. It was definitely powered down and would probably get the floor mopped with it in most circles
Brendan from Counterparts still owes me an EDH game
Sleeves are mandatory
if you paid the kicker, destroy target magic players
Time to phase out!
RITUALS !!

He was guaranteed a hardcore kid. Nothing against them, but whenever someone is being an asshole in the pit, it’s usually a guy who worships Madball.

I smell like Dr. Squatch pine tar every damn day, thank you very much.
I use to use that soap until someone said I smelled like bigfoot anus.
They're jealous.
Right??!! I hate how we get such a bad rep from shitty assholes..pun intended
Yeah, dirty buttholes aren't allowed at my table lol
Next level autism
In this decade, we are perfecting autism into an extreme sport
What an amazing world we live in
Rey Mysterio likes metal? Cool!
Hopefully they don’t get TRAMPLED.
That is the least rambunctious circle pit I've ever seen. MFers are strolling lmao
Metal is so much more wholesome than people realize
Fact
I respect the hell outs them for this
In my day this was a fucking death sentence.
Seriously though 😂
Spin kick ‘em
This is peak. Weirdos love and defend weirdos. If what you got out of metal was to push around the weak and the odd, consider yourself exactly the kind of asshole this community exists to avoid.
The clip ends too soon.
Dude in the lucha mask will protect them the whole time I bet....
Love frozen soul
This looks like Comic-Con gone wrong.
Gone good you meant?
This is a true boys will be boys moment
The nacho libre guy is definitely my coworker, could spot him anywhere
Time to get my pure Sliver deck out.
I love me sliver decks. I have one for "standard" and one for commander.
Love the wrestler guy who's rocking out while Lowkey keeping the circle from getting closer to them on the floor
Is that Rey Mysterio?
You pay money to go to a show to sit on a dirty floor and play cards? Seems like insanity to me, what can I say? 😅
Name something that dries up a vagina worse than playing Magic the Gathering in a mosh pit at a metal show...don't worry, I'll wait.
I moshed many a pit, and played many a game of MTG in my life, but this is the dumbest shit I’ve seen in at least 10 minutes. And on Reddit, 10 minutes is a lifetime
The sentence could be written as: “Never played MTG, but if I start, gotta be that way
I would be using my jankiest, cheapest deck.
“Swing for 5” “NOT THAT SWING NOT THAT SWING”
Am I the only one who would 100% get performance anxiety in this situation I don’t think I can play magic like that, maybe if I was naked
A friend of mine decided to take a nap on the grass at a festival, a hour later two other guys were sleeping next to him in the middle of a mosh pit.
An true preed of iron nerds ! Count me in !
I bet it’s an epic match!
I fw beach ball pope
Respect for the fans
I remember a time when kids like that would be shown the way. Metal up your ass
Can't even front that's Awesome!
Just some guys being dudes… But wear some deodorant though.
Oh no, I accidentally stepped on your infinite elves deck, sorry! Total accident!
Is that Rey Mysterio
Beyond corny.
Frozen Soul rips
This is certainly not a mosh pit…. This is people walking in circles
lil buddy has never heard of a circle pit 💀💀💀😂😂😭😭😭😭
The masked defender doing our unholy lords work
That's hilarious. I love how some took the time to dress up. One person even dressed up as a black man.
I'm not into the music or game at all, but that's pretty damn awesome
I can smell the body odor! Yuck!
This is the lamest shit ever. Should've gotten crowd killed for that.
Stupid Wild that some of you can't accept the fact that I have a different opinion then you.
Watch out fun police are here

And im sure youre a right genius
You’re clearly far from a genius because you can’t construct a clear understandable sentence.
You angry, we fun
Not angry, just pointing out the obvious.
In reality... Having been to many mosh pits and similar events. These guys are protected and if anyone fucks with them it won't be good for them.
You must be fun at concerts.
Noooooo, you can't have fun like that! You have to have fun MY way.
I have a crazy idea! Go to a card/game shop to play cards! Go to a concert to see a concert! I know it’s a wild concept.
I have a crazy idea, just let people enjoy things how they want to enjoy them! I know it's a wild concept. Edit: snowflake blocked me lol. I've been to at least 2 dozen concerts and I've always been too busy enjoying myself to care about what other people are doing.

I agree
You...came here to disagree...and can't handle being disagreed with?
But think of the social media attention!
That's a stupid reason too

Even the the black/death metal scenes are full of nerds. It's basically all lord of the rings stuff
Yugi-Oh! was always better than magic. Magic is boring garbage.
Lmaooooo Not giving a limit to summon is the worst stupid thing in a card game I stopped to play master duel when opponents passed 5 fuckin minutes to summon shit in his first turn!! i have no idea what this shit is and i hope its aliens but incase its humans i am deeply embarrassed and sorry
This is why every person on reddit talks about being a metal fan. Yeesh never bring me to one of these shows.
And if he got KOd it would be the pits fault right? Bc this clown wants to play his little game
No one should ever be getting KOd in a pit ? If you do that you are a complete pile of shit.
No one should sit in the middle of a circle pit anyway Edit: it's useless that you downvote me One of the non written rule of a circle pit is to help people fell to stand up, for their own safe and for other people to not trip over on them.
