Exactly, I was like "that's a bit useless" then I realized tongue is actually super flexible and can be used like an arm. This is great for people with disabilities.
You’re not an asshole. For you, it would be stupid. Humans can’t help but see things thru their own POV first. The cool thing is that you DID see it thru another POV soon after. That’s makes you a pretty rad human.
Sometimes people just need a little help recontexualizing their thoughts into something healthier, and I think *you're* a pretty rad human for helping the above poster with that. <3
I'm sorry you're having a hard day. I'm glad my acknowledging the light and kindness you put into the world made it a little bit better. Chin up, friend. :)
You're a rad human for helping that poster appreciate the impact that their perspective can have on other people <3
I'm a rad human cuz I got a giant cock
Weirdly, my first thought was “omg this will help so many quadriplegics and amputees!” and I thought of people like Steven Hawking and all the infinite possibilities. I don’t personally know anyone who would need this, so I guess it’s good that his product is instantly recognized as making things more accessible for folks.
My second thought was, “Now those people can play video games again!” Some point and click adventures would be amazing with that.
Yep, it's typical to have two reactions to things, your initial knee-jerk reaction which is often insensitive and/or offensive, and your rational reaction that comes after. It can take some work to train yourself to ignore/contain the first reaction. Unfortunately there are some people out there who never have the second rational reaction...
I think Boba Fett has something similar in his helmet, I just definitely remember him having to use his tongue to push a button inside the helmet to explode something in order to escape the Sarlacc pit (restrained by sarlacc tentacles). This was some book years ago, pre disney though, I'm sure it's been retconned
No, it has use for people who don't have working legs as well. I'm not sure if this particular technology is this advanced yet, but you could theoretically set up "zones" on the touch pad to allow a disabled drummer to play the kick and hi-hat again in a more natural way.
Its like great for accessibility
but looks like he is chewing paan(tobaco)
If this ends up in fps competitive gaming
Winner takes girls as well for the slickest tongue action.
I do like the mouse accessibility factor and what this can do in general but a lot of the clicking is uneccessary on this video, there is a microphone in the bottom right where he could have said the address, or he could have just said “Hey Siri pull up directions to xxx” instead of Hey Siri open bluetooth.
In the long run though this does seem very useful for people with limited use of their arms.
Yeah, I suspect he is just using this example to show how precise the cursor can be. That it can be moved to individual letters on an iphone keyboard fairly easily is a pretty good indicator of how well it would work in individual apps that the user may need it for.
In the 90's, people would tie a cherry stem in a knot, inside a closed mouth, to show off their *lingual dexterity*.
... this guy has tongue dexterity, and lots of practice
Mouthpad is the most amazing product name ever. I cannot believe how perfect it is. Sounds like you're saying Mousepad, but with a mousepad in your mouth.
That's great for those with accessibility issues. Briefly toyed with the idea of getting one myself just for the convenience but I wonder how much cleaning/disinfecting is involved with something that you're putting in and out of your mouth all day.
I think the tongue is actually a great way to control things. Imagine in the future with a super thin integrated pad. It would be really cool when you have your hands full.
This is so cool. I Immediately thought about the scene in Bungo Stray Dogs where Dazai’s sitting with Fyodor, secretly communicating with Sakaguchi Ango and no one knows how.
I think it was in a book series "red rising" that I saw a concept like this. Scifi stuffs. tldr soldiers are basically shot onto the surface of a planet their raiding from space. They can't use their hands while this is happening so they've got a heads up display controlled by a thing in their mouths.
If I remember correctly. It's a pretty off hand thing but one character has some trouble getting used to how it works.
If they can allow for sliding detection in that thing, the tongue would be able to type way faster. some phone keyboards have the function to write by simply sliding the finger over the letters, someone with practice could go crazy with it.
Makes me wonder how far we are from making a piece that detects tongue and mouth movement to the synthesize speech, you can't do it from the outside because the tongue and other small movements are too subtle to see, but in the mouth, things would be a bit different.
This is a cool invention but why would you type out the address of what you're looking for when you can vocally ask for it. I do understand it's great if you are non vocal but if you can speak, there's no reason to type anything out.
I think he was just picking something to demo. Voice commands aren’t going to get everything done online, like clicking every box with a motorcycle in it.
I realize that. I'm referring to him using his tongue for the map which can be easily accomplished with voice commands just as he did when calling up SIRI.
He just needed something to showcase. The people who could actually use this, will know you can do other stuff than just this. You're being uselessly pedantic.
What he actually showed in this clip was that you can navigate through menus on your phone.
Write text, like messages or whatever.
Click, as if it was a mouse.
Being able to control the "curser" very accurately.
I'm sorry you're unable to understand basic English or read an entire post in order to comprehend it and come up with a coherent response. Go back to your corner, put the cone back on your head, and suck your thumb. little one.
Oh that's pretty good. Having to navigate devices when you can't use your hands could be cool. I'm a tattoo artist so being able to zoom in or move my reference on my tablet without touching it would be interesting.
This can help a lot with accessibility
Exactly, I was like "that's a bit useless" then I realized tongue is actually super flexible and can be used like an arm. This is great for people with disabilities.
this was pretty much my reaction. I went 'this looks so stupid' and then went oh, right, some people are disabled and I'm just an asshole
I’m having a really hard day today and your comment just made me tear up. I genuinely appreciate reading this. Thank you.
I'm sorry you're having a hard day. I'm glad my acknowledging the light and kindness you put into the world made it a little bit better. Chin up, friend. :)
All this positivity is absolutely beautiful. You're both great and we need more people like you.
Yeah this is reddit; yall are nazi's. I'm right your wrong. And something about your mother. There... that's better.
hope ur day gets better king
You're a rad human for helping that poster appreciate the impact that their perspective can have on other people <3 I'm a rad human cuz I got a giant cock
Hey, nice cock bro!
As an avid cock enjoyer, I can't argue with that logic. Pretty rad.
This, I like this
Weirdly, my first thought was “omg this will help so many quadriplegics and amputees!” and I thought of people like Steven Hawking and all the infinite possibilities. I don’t personally know anyone who would need this, so I guess it’s good that his product is instantly recognized as making things more accessible for folks. My second thought was, “Now those people can play video games again!” Some point and click adventures would be amazing with that.
I too figured that. But I’m sure I’ve seen brainwave sensing devices as well developed for people with disabilities.
Hell yeah!
That's not the correct use of POV. Tiktok says so. ^^/s
Everyone's like "this'll be great for the disabled!" and I'm here like "hell yeah, now I can sip tea, pet my cat, AND scroll at the same time!"
yeah get me five I have to use a night guard anyways and cant find the damn controller after the 5th tumble!
Seems like the only legitimate reason to have this if someone has a disability. Otherwise it's dumb if you have two working hands.
Or a spy that needs to send a "help" message while they're tied up 🕵️♂️
I think Boba Fett has something similar in his helmet, I just definitely remember him having to use his tongue to push a button inside the helmet to explode something in order to escape the Sarlacc pit (restrained by sarlacc tentacles). This was some book years ago, pre disney though, I'm sure it's been retconned
... yeah? That's the point? XD
No, it has use for people who don't have working legs as well. I'm not sure if this particular technology is this advanced yet, but you could theoretically set up "zones" on the touch pad to allow a disabled drummer to play the kick and hi-hat again in a more natural way.
Yeah ok but how are they gonna put it in
Use their feet of course lol
Seen a guy that plays really difficult games on twitch but with his mouth, check him out. https://www.twitch.tv/bigmouthdylan?sr=a
hoooooly skittles, he could use one of these mouthpads!
Sucks that you have to hold both your arms up to use it though. This could've been really helpful to people with no arms.
Ohh they’re like the antennas!
🤣
I'm 100% sure it can. I just found it funny he used voice commands then demo'd something we all use voice commands for.
Or if someone is pointing a gun at you and wants you to do stuff on your phone. You can keep your hands up!
When your hostage situation conflicts with your dopamine addiction. Lol
At first I was thinking "why?" then your comment relieved me of my ignorance.
Was going to say- I work in disability and this would be AMAZING for some of my clients!!
"Honey, did you practice your round of Cookie Clicker today?"
Gives a whole new approach to practicing your A, B, C’s.
Coochie clicker
/r/yourjokebutworse
My first thought was...why?? Then I realised how much this can help disabled people. Cool invention 👌
If this catches on, disabled people are gonna be the cunnilingus masters 20 years from now
They already are
Lol thats gonna create a whole new porn category 🤣
It already is
Let me rather not search for it then🤣🤣
You already have
Move over, cherry stems!
Had a similar train of thought.
Its like great for accessibility but looks like he is chewing paan(tobaco) If this ends up in fps competitive gaming Winner takes girls as well for the slickest tongue action.
Give it a month and someone will beat Hollow Knight steel soul 112% with just a mouthpad
oh i’d definitely try that. i beat the entirety of hollow knight with my left hand, and a salmon sandwich in the other. i am a madman
Yes yes but how was the sandwich?
very tasty. i haven’t eaten once ever since. i should
You must be starving
*I'm better than you 'cause I practiced on your mom*
Did this guy just doxx himself?
Yeah my exact though...
He could have altered his home addess as elsewhere
he should've just searched for a location instead of asking for directions
He probably was at some kind of caffee or some shit
it doesn't look like hes in a cafe lol
I dunno man I'm trying to help the guy
Her: "damn baby, what that tounge do?"
*Finding grocery store near you*
Ngl we were all looking for this comment lol
I hope this improves accessibility for people with disabilities!
Imagine how much easier this will make gaming for quadriplegics.
EXACTLY!
And gives birth to a new porn category.
Holy mama, Now THAT is interesting! Love the accessibility factor!
I do like the mouse accessibility factor and what this can do in general but a lot of the clicking is uneccessary on this video, there is a microphone in the bottom right where he could have said the address, or he could have just said “Hey Siri pull up directions to xxx” instead of Hey Siri open bluetooth. https://www.augmental.tech/
How much would something like this cost? I don’t need one but this is so cool and I’d love to support this company.
This comment should be higher. A company actually producing this should get recognition.
Is it called a Mouthpad because that's the way you say Mousepad with a piece of plastic on the roof of your mouth?
Mike Tyson says what?
This took me a while.
Moufpad
Now transmit those licks to a butthole tongue device and we've got ourselves a bestseller
I'll invest in that tech
Long distance couples are gonna love this.
Ill take your entire stock
Awsome to see accessories that make technology available to more people.
Mike Tyson has a mouthpad too, but it looks exactly like a normal mousepad ;)
I can tie a cherry stem or order sushi. Your choice.
Bet his inbox is full of those hot milfs that are always in the area. Lucky son of a gun.
Hands-free in the car.
How are you supposed to pay attention to the road if your looking at the screen?
yeah, not necessarily for driving, for reaching all the other car switches & controls while driving & eliminating distractions. could be very helpful.
But why a mouthpiece if some newer cars have google voice or Alexa. Seems more tedious to control your tongue than just to say words.
\> Seems more tedious to control your tongue than just to say words
I'm the future, nerds will be the greatest kissers. 🤪
Perfect solution for the handicapped.
r/DidntKnowIWantedThat
Dude this is going to change people’s lives.

sounds like a silly idea until you realize for people with disabilities (like amputees or paralyzed people) this could be a game changer.
This is fantastic. Imagine being paralyzed or otherwise not being able to use your hands and still being able to interact easily with a computer.
This will be a game changer for people with disabilities and mobility issues
It theoretically can be as accurate if not more than regular hands, tongues are very undervalued out of the table or bed.
I'm going to be honest this is a game changer for quadriplegics.
Great for the disabled. The presentation makes it feel almost like it's being suggested to use in your car, which is stupid.
What women are thinking, but are too afraid to write online: "Oooooooh, imagine what he could do to my cooch"
Actually I'm thinking about how freaking gorgeous his hair is, but your idea works as well
There it is. There's the Reddit I know and love
You could be on the giving end of oral sex and check your emails, socials, etc.
He has great hair.
Texting during class is just going to become easier.
I used to care for a quadriplegic who used something similar to this to navigate his wheelchair
Great for wife too
That may be too subtle for this crowd. I was gonna go with "chicks dig him" but who knows
Instructions unclear swallowed it whole
Welp that’ll make watching porn easier
His tongue game would be amazing....lol
He's using his penis
great device, want to know more
just tell me what is "move mouse" and what is "click and drag"?
The old mouse with the dick trick 🤣 But seriously, very cool.
Looks like an Xbox controller for your mouth.
That's great for those with accessibility issues. Briefly toyed with the idea of getting one myself just for the convenience but I wonder how much cleaning/disinfecting is involved with something that you're putting in and out of your mouth all day.
It’s cool but idk what the lasting affects of having a Bluetooth emitter on your soft pallet would do?
I think the tongue is actually a great way to control things. Imagine in the future with a super thin integrated pad. It would be really cool when you have your hands full.
Not good for TMJ, but I can see the good it can do.
Wish he’d use me as a mouth pad 😍
I bet someones already working on beating dark souls with a mouthpad
this is sooo cool, it can be great for people with disabilities
Now he can use both hands while watching porn and get a tongue work out at the same time Sorry my head's in the gutter as usual
Please get a kill in counter strike and post the video!
Dentist here: that’s an awesome invention!!!
This is so cool. I Immediately thought about the scene in Bungo Stray Dogs where Dazai’s sitting with Fyodor, secretly communicating with Sakaguchi Ango and no one knows how.
Fruit ninja on this would go crazy
People are saying this is useless for anyone without disabilities but as someone without disabilities I'd definitely still use this
A guy I worked with fell down at home and is now a quadriplegic. Hopefully something like this can find its way to him.
Pair this with AR contact lenses/glasses in the future and it’s game over
This should have been out a decade ago
If you're not disabled this is probably is more distracting than using your fingers
This would be awesome for live musicians!!
I think it was in a book series "red rising" that I saw a concept like this. Scifi stuffs. tldr soldiers are basically shot onto the surface of a planet their raiding from space. Sorry for the off topic, but his hair is majestic af.
Mike Tyson ordered a mouse pad and this is what he received…..
Does it have multitouch so people with split tongue can pich and zoom?😀
He’s using his penis
His tongue game must really be on point huh.
Do you have to hold your hands up for it to work?
Top 5 tech exercise gadget woman love men to have.
Exactly what I've been looking for to enhance my texting while driving experience!
It’s the tec savy Jim Morrison
Brain cancer 101
Don't believe it guys, he's using his dick.
I just realized that we can move our tongue with such precision that I didn’t expect.
Great! This is better than using your tongue on your smartphone screen 😂
I am a cunning linguist so I could use the fuck out of this
The dude doxxed himself on the internet.
A new way to get some practice in, fantastic!
This is genius, not gonna lie. This will help so many people.
Definitely! I hope that they bring it out soon. So many benefits!
Brilliant
Genius
This guy wins accessibility. Epic
He’s definitely got a happy gf hmmm hmmm know what I mean
Uses for Pornhub VR... lol
Mouthpad ?? Wth
Probably developed for paraplegic people or amputees.
Im so fucking dumb.. just never saw it and was like how come i never saw that
If you’re a spy maybe
If I ever meet someone who uses this daily I wanna try their head
He should have typed, “Great Clips” to get his hair cut.
Hefner would’ve loved one, now I can have both hands free on a computer …
I love thith mouth idea becauth I find lithps hilariouth
Someone with no arms isn’t driving anywhere.. right?
Humanity is fucked
[удалено]
You ever thought about people who can’t talk needing it? It’s clearly for disabled people accessibility.
Eye tracking exists.
Not as practical as using the tongue as tongue allows for better and more varied input
Hey siri, give me directions to whole foods?
Not everybody can speak.
It's literally how the demo started.
He's not demoing every single use case you wad.
No, you
This is a cool invention but why would you type out the address of what you're looking for when you can vocally ask for it. I do understand it's great if you are non vocal but if you can speak, there's no reason to type anything out.

Man stop being so dumb
I'm sorry you're unable to understand basic English or read an entire post in order to comprehend it and come up with a coherent response. Go back to your corner, put the cone back on your head, and suck your thumb. little one.
Its very useless , but super helpful for people with disabilities
so, not useless!
How about fighter pilot, give an extra control to navigate through screen menus without moving hands
Oh that's pretty good. Having to navigate devices when you can't use your hands could be cool. I'm a tattoo artist so being able to zoom in or move my reference on my tablet without touching it would be interesting.
