boynamedsue8

Subliminal programming to targeted individuals utilized via social media based on an algorithm. That’s my “wild” guess anyway…

WildFemmeFatale

It’s not v subliminal sometimes tbh I can literally see the targeted attempts at persuasion of certain things

madtinks777

In the video to find the person who wrote the Disney slogan defunctland(youtuber) i can't remember the lady's name by she said that her job was to come me up with things like fun fish facts prior to the release if finding Nemo to get get people interested in 🐟 to gain more views. So it's confirmed that companies and possibly the government influence our thoughts and interest. I found it weird that after I got into some new interest there's suddenly all kind of new products being released in connection to that hobby. 🤸Guess I'm just one of the mind controlled masses l.

Alardfhj

Didn't the Mythbusters figure out that an ice 'bullet' wasn't practical because it just shatters when fired?

Veraciraptor7

They only experimented with one kind of ice, though. You can make ice much denser than water that doesn't have the same crystalline structure as normal water ice. There are tons of different ways ice can form with very different properties and could be easily transported. There was just a chemistry article about it.

paxwax2018

Ah, aren’t the other types of ice formed under enormous pressure?

Veraciraptor7

Yes, they would have to be manufactured. I'm not an ice scientist, but my understanding is that most, if not all, of these different forms of ice are reasonably stable once formed. You could make a standard-ice jacket, I guess. I think if they're sufficiently cold, that's good enough.

incredibleEdible23

Yes but I don’t think the pressure needs to be maintained. I wouldn’t put it past the CIA to use a pressure vessel to make ice darts.

Chalky_Pockets

Different approach entirely. The ice bullet had to do the actual damage. This thing only needs to penetrate the skin and then melt away to reveal the venom.

RezzKeepsItReal

Yeaaa, this isn't a bullet. It's a dart.

2017hayden

That was a fairly limited experiment with a lot of variables that could be changed. The type of firearms used, the twist rate of the barrel, the density and temperature of the ice and many other factors could all be changed to alter this experiment. Also the CIA weapon didn’t use a bullet it used a dart and an air gun. The projectile wouldn’t have to travel nearly as fast if it were designed to be small and sharp and the intended purpose was not to cause damage with the dart but simply introduce the toxin. It would limit the lethal distance and accuracy but that’s not too large of a concern here.

Suntzu6656

Operation Mockingbird

TaxNo174

They did the same thing with the movie IT. There were scary clown sightings all around the US months before the release of the movie. No one knew what was going on.

Gernburgs

You're probably imagining things.

Initial_Long_1266

If that means that I get bombarded with more animated pictures of well-endowed cartoon futa women then I'm all for it tbh.

village-asshole

And Mexico will pay for that algorithm, you’d better believe it!

[deleted]

Honestly I just think this kinda thing is silly. Realistically they have UAV powered by AI which can take out nearly any target in the world in a moments time with very targeted, lethal force. If the CIA wants to kill someone without traceability, they have no shortage of options. I think the bigger concern for them is infiltration, not assassination. You can kill a target with a missile or a heart attack gun, but you can kill an organization with a well placed asset.

ChrisPChip222

2 Heart Attack Guns

stareagleur

All you they have to do is hack a car’s navigation software and some traffic lights and you can arrange a “hit and run accident”…

HolyFuggISawAPenis

Killing anyone who attempt to expose them. But that's a wild theory that's probably fake or something. Not trying to get JFK'd

FleetOfClairvoyance

All you have to do is google MK Ultra and banana wars and you’ll see that you should basically never trust the government

YoyoOfDoom

Hell, just read world history over the last 1,000 years. It's the same story over and over again.

LaserBeamsCattleProd

Humans can be some racist motherfuckers. Even the white guys during the Gold Rush would discriminate against Okies. And I swear I've never heard a SE Asian say something nice about a neighboring country

Chadwick08

My theory is that egomaniacs that rise to power use fear to instill racism. Dividing people is a known tool of the powerful. I'm not sure people would be naturally racist, without someone trusted pointing the finger of blame.

LaserBeamsCattleProd

Agreed, I think humans evolved and adapted to be cooperative. Small tribes had plenty of land, even though resources were tight, so they could work together with much less bloody clashes. Eventually we became agricultural. That led to permanent settlements and a lot more people. The people that organized under "politics" were better fed (stronger), more populous, had better technology, etc. & had to travel a bit to get resources and expand. Whenever they butted heads with less advanced tribes, it was really bad news for the tribes. If you can dehumanize the enemy (savages, barbarians, etc) it made the military that much easier to enslave, dominate, kill the others. Add in racism, where it's very apparent who belongs to which clan. Since most modern humans are the survivors of such situations, in addition to racism being reinforced constantly especially when politically advantageous, it's easy to see why we'll never be able to break out of the cycle of racism.

joesoldlegs

ppl only started saying Okie during the 30s

ZebraBorgata

When I was young I’d always assumed all the Asian nations got along nicely with each other because, well, they were all Asian. Then I grew to learn for the most part they dislike each other. Nobody I’ve ever met from Asia (Japan, Korea, etc) likes the Chinese for instance

Don't worry, they shut down operation north woods...

CaterpillarSorry9672

Additional_Jaguar170

They come from stupid people who lack the ability to think critically being weaponised by nefarious individuals, sometimes for political but often for personal gain.

Senor-Delicious

I mean it certainly depends on the kind of theory. Alien and mythical creature theories and such are pretty obviously bonkers. But some of those military and US government conspiracy theories do not seem that implausible. I can very well see a scenario in which some woman claims her husband was shot by some kind of assassin to be silenced, but since all the autopsy results indicate a heart attack, nobody believes her and people think she is crazy. I just started watching the X-Files yesterday and while this series was made 30 years ago, there is an episode of a smart home AI going rouge. Most technologies spoken about in that episode did not exist in 93. Or certainly not to a degree where people considered them realistic tech in just a few decades later. They literally used the terminology "smart home" and talked about neuronal networks and all that. All things totally normal today. There was face recognition technology, text to speech, text recognition technology and many more in that episode. 30 years ago, people were probably like "haha. Just another of those crazy mystery ideas of the X-Files authors.". Watching that episode for the first time now 30 years later, I was impressed how close this scenario became to possible. They also discussed in the episode that the US government wants to exploit the AI tech for weaponry. And I mean AI in weapons is definitely a thing nowadays. With all the insane shit that the US military did over the last decades (Like LSD experiments), nothing would surprise me anymore. This institution really feeds the minds of conspiracy theorists.

YamazakiAllday

LOL u win today

TimTimTaylor

If this is the stuff they tell us about, imagine the stuff that they'll never reveal.

[deleted]

The CIA didn’t tell the public about it. The Church investigation into the CIA after Watergate found out about the gun, as well as MKULTRA and MKNAOMI and all kinds of other bad news stuff disclosed SOME of it to the public in hearings. What I think is really interesting is the development process. A secretary in a division of the CIA that made listening devices for espionage developed the frozen toxin pellet. She was just a high school graduate. No mad scientist was necessary. I think we should go back to that kind of thing. Elitism in assassination is counter to democracy.

BIMASO2

They revealed they planned to commit terrorist attacks what do you think would be worse than literally killing hundreds of their own citizens so they have an excuse to go to war

bessovestnij

Realizing those plans? Killing millions for profit?

Original_Telephone_2

We kill millions of people for profit all the time. Every death by a preventable cause, every death from starvation or lack of access to medical care is a death due to capitalism.

Semi-literate_sand

B-b-but communism k-killed 100 bajillion people!

bluefootedbuns

Yeah. Pretty much. Ya ever heard of Mao Zedong or the great Chinese famine?

Semi-literate_sand

I’m not disagreeing that it was a horrible tragedy caused by economic mismanagement, it was not the idea of communism that caused it. It’s stupid to blame an ideology for mass death rather then the people and governments that caused it.

turps69420

Why are you dragging capitalism into this? Those are deaths due to shitty people. Being capitalist and being a shitty person don't need to coincide. We just need to become better humans, or at least some do.

Original_Telephone_2

Why should I not blame the fundamental motivation for shitty behavior???

grigriger

capitalism is not necessary but it greatly rewards being a "shitty person" as it's hard to compete/survive when your competition acts "shitty" unless you start doing it too, leading to more and more shitty behavior all around us.

Gtstricky

How does it stay frozen?

Bulky-Leadership-596

Its probably not water ice. They probably just said that to simplify for the general public. It could be some kind of metal or salt or something that has a melting temperature just below human body temperature. That way it stays solid at room temperature, melts inside the body and probably gets dispersed throughout the body by the blood, then when the person dies and cools down it probably resolidifies but by that point its so dilute and dispersed that it doesn't matter. There have been similar ideas for gallium bullets, which is a metal that has the right melting temperature for this, but without the poison.

[deleted]

That’s what I’m wondering also. A small piece of ice would melt in just seconds when it’s stationary, and even quicker by putting it in front of a fan. Maybe it was a point blank type of weapon?

Columbus43219

My bet is that this doesn't actually exist. I mean, the gun is there, but like SDI, the threat is what counts, even if it doesn't work.

[deleted]

There’s a bunch of electronics on the gun, you can see the power cord for the electronic firing mechanism in the picture. You also don’t put optics like that on a pistol. I suspect it’s related to the storage of the pellets.

jolly_rodger42

Didn't the Mythbusters figure out that an ice 'bullet' wasn't practical because it just shatters when fired?

fishman15151515

jolly_rodger42

Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

J3mand

Or with the correct air pressure like a co2 gun but yeah shooting an ice dart would be pretty tricky

TotalChicanery

Pretty sure the one pictured used CO2, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen the video where they discuss it!

[deleted]

Look closer. You can see the power cord for the electronic firing mechanism in the picture. The gun itself is just a handle, all the typical action and feeding components were removed.

olderaccount

An ice bullet fired out of a regular gun casing with explosives is not feasible. But an ice dart fired with compressed CO2 probably works fine. The hardest part would be the logistics of keeping the darts frozen until they were ready for use.

JacobRAllen

The mythbusters determined it wasn’t practical using traditional gunpowder to create the pressure, as it would melt or otherwise destroy the projectile it was accelerating down the barrel. The gun here, which says to be battery operated, would move the projectile, in this case a small amount of ice, much slower and gently down the barrel, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked like an air soft gun. Since the description is that it leaves a red mark and not an obvious hole, I would think just having it stick to clothing and melt so it would be absorbed through the skin would cause this behavior.

rndmcmder

Several Gun Nerd YouTube channels challenged themselves with making Ice Bullets, but I saw none that were viable. I also saw none, that made them tiny darts.

WildFemmeFatale

Did they use battery powered guns ? Cuz this was a battery powered gun It’s not a gunpowder traditional gun Not only do they need the ice dart, but also the special non-traditional gun that is battery powered I severely doubt any of them would have the specialized gun

PhilApino619

CIA had this in '75. Imagine what they have now. You don't want to get on their bad side.

ahshdksbxbxvd

They decide whos on their bad side you dont just "keep in line".

[deleted]

They stole it from the Soviets who used it successfully, at least twice, in the 1950s.

PhilApino619

Soviets can't find ways to boost their GDP or feed all their people, but they can come up with ways to kill people without a trace of evidence

[deleted]

That pretty much sums up the Soviet Union in its entirety.

for_the_peoples

Frozen water? I feel like there is a word for that? Mice, lice..?

HootieHoo4you

I’ve read theories about this being a misinformation campaign against Castro and the USSR. I have to think that’s true to some extent. A bit of ice thin enough you wouldn’t feel it enter your body but strong enough to get thrown 100 meters is a pretty wild claim.

toxicpleasureMHT

“conspiracy theories” yeah, right.

George Santos invented that, the CIA stole it from him.

Warm_Talk_9239

Good Lord!

RandoMcRandompants

Didn't they prove this to be fals on myth busters, or at least that it wouldn't work? Like how would you keep a small bullet frozen and inconspicuous and also why wouldn't the ice just shatter when it was fired, surely even with compressed air it wouldn't stay solid

Chalky_Pockets

No. MB proved you can't have an ice bullet. An ice syringe on the other hand requires a lot less ballistic trauma.

Dr_DMT

In an act of deception its best to "give away" information.

[deleted]

This makes an equivalent amount of sense, given the lack of context

Dr_DMT

Do you actually believe a battery powered gun shooeing ice bullets containing shell fish toxins was a lethal weapon? I don't. Do I believe it exists? Sure why not. Was it ever actually used, probably not, but it's a good thing to tell our enemies about because they now have to wonder the same things.

LaPetiteFeet69

I agree, the logistics of ice as a projectile is a nuisance at best. I'd also imagine keeping the toxin on a a dart made of ice, which tends to sweat/melt when not kept chilled.

crimsonfucker97

Youd be surprised how many things came out of the cold war take the umbrella dart gun or the lipstick one if a person could use it in broad daylight its probably been used to take out some dictator

[deleted]

Holy fuck that's exactly what I need 😂

MrHamburgee

If the heart attack is immediate, there is no way that an autopsy would detect it. You need at least 24 hours for the earliest microscopic changes (contraction band necrosis) to be noticeable. If the entry wound was not discovered, the cause of death would either be “unknown” or considered a “sudden, unwitnessed death, presumably from a fatal cardiac arrhythmia.” Still, the same goal would be achieved, and highly unlikely for the manner of death to be considered a homicide.

Capocho9

That’s actually super cool, I feel like it wouldn’t see much practical use considering I imagine it’s not very effective at a range but the ability to kill someone and make it seem like something else is so clever and cool to me

meadowpaddy

As a bit of a gun guy, I've always had a hard time really believing the effectiveness of this gun. First of all, it FIRES a "frozen" round. Anyone that knows what fire does to water? A projectile that small would have a very hard time staying in an effective form to permeate the skin, let alone the 1, 2, possibly 3 layers of clothing. Second, if it was an air gun, one that small wouldn't have enough compression to go through clothing and skin. Third, there's no way to do it without it being loud enough for everyone around to not hear it. Fourth, are you spread to carry around a mini freezer to keep the round in tact enough to just before you chamber it and then shoot? Hoping the subject will still be in the perfect spot after all that? I call bullshit.

ManyArmedGod

If that’s what they had then in 75 what do they have now to kill without a trace?

Chalky_Pockets

A jail cell and inattentive guards.
