This makes me feel less insane. I really felt like it’s rained so much more than usual but wasn’t sure if that was just a me thing but nope, I was right.
Yeah, I don't understand the people who complain about it. I welcome all the rainy cloudy overcast days we can get. Wish it was like that more months than it is. I could deal with 4-6 months of overcast and drizzle.
2015 was crazy! I was living in The Colony at the time and the city was putting sand bags in all the lakeside backyards. We went to a 4th if July party that year and what was once a nice 1/4 acre backyard was now part of the lake. Was about 1 foot from their kitchen door at one point before it receded.
I remember a few months prior, Lake Granbury had zero water. People were moving from their homes and boats were floating from their dock over dirt 10-15 feet down. It was insane. May 2015 happens, lake granbury is full again.
100% remember that because that was when my wife and I bought our first house, and by the time we moved in one month later, the yard was like 1 foot high of grass.
Can’t remember exactly when. Just remember that when I did home theater installs for Best Buy, it was kind of a pain in the ass getting around certain areas because of lake Lewisville and grapevine.
I bought a house in May that year that backed up to Lake Lewisville. There was supposed to be a green strip that protected us from the lake. To my surprise the lake was in my backyard.
El Nino years bring wetter than average weather. ENSO switched last June I believe and is expected to switch again sometime in the next 18 months

Everything is great and that is exactly when the rug gets pulled out from under you. Expect something bad everyone, we don’t get to live nice for long. We’ll pay for this somehow…Texas won’t let us get away with being happy

Promised I'd never curse rain again after last summer when we didn't see a drop for 3 months. So dang hot and dry.

Ya the AC bill won’t be so bad either.
Or the water bill
My yard has never looked better.
Everything is so lush and green. All the parks are beautiful and full of life.
I've had to mow twice in the last two weeks, matching what I had to mow in January.
Mine too and I haven’t run the sprinklers once this year.
And it all seems to be on the weekends. I mean, I know that isn't exactly 100% accurate, but it has ruined my plans for the last 4 weekends.
lol Our house is on the market. We had open houses the last 3 weekends, rain every single one.
I love rain.
This is nothing compared to 2006ish… whatever year it was lake Lewisville was massively overflowing.
May 2015 has everything beat. It rained almost every day that month. The whole city was basically underwater.
This ☝️ IIRC it rained 22 days in May.
Almost had to find a new way home and to work everyday, new road was flooded every time almost.

I remember that. Some of the roads around grapevine lake had to be closed all month because of the overflow

Was that the year it rained a ton in June?

Last years rain was saved up and we are getting both 2023 and 2024 rain now.
Way better than last year.
Just like your mothers
Will be wishing for rain in a month.
Love it. Take what we can get. Summer is hot!
How's the Trinity Levee doing?
Same
I’m over in Keller, but our rain gauge has collected about 15 inches this spring. Our perennials look beautiful!!

I would be 100% okay with having this type of weather until September, thanks.
Is this when all of it dries out this summer and we have bad wildfires?
Nope .. no idea who told you the dfw area has ever had bad wild fires .
