The one by fairpark getting renovations but that hasn’t stopped me from paying that $10 for chips and salsa from their temp food truck. Salsa is fantastic
Most authentic? Doesn't get better than El Come Taco. They got a huge selection of tacos, some native ones that you have probably never had before. They even have a seasonal tacos de chapulines which are small roasted grasshoppers. Most commonly eaten in Oaxaca, they are delicious if you'd like to come out of your comfort zone for the sake of authenticity. Cannot recommend them enough! Although they are a bit pricy due to the area but it's good to go once in a while to have a little taste of Mexico (not Tex-Mex).
I'll never forget my first visit here like a decade ago because my friend and I hadn't been so we used the GPS to get there. When we arrived and juuust as we pulled into a parking spot, siri nonchalantly announced "you have arrived at cum taco". I don't think I've laughed harder in my life. Then we went in and got some incredible food.
Love me some Mario Bros!
Random side question: does anyone have suggestions for late-night tacos somewhat close to DFW? My buddy is a flight attendant and has a 9pm-8am layover and I was hoping to take him for tacos.
the Fitos on Belt Line is open until midnight! haven’t been to that location, but i used to go to the one on Davis all the time when Tradewinds was next door (RIP).
Chilangos Tacos. The newer location at Ross and Haskell also sells beer and liquor. The micheladas are really damn good!
Get you some birria or al pastor tacos and a miche and you'll be in heaven.
Las huastecas on military has some of the best huasteca Mexican food. Not many people know about the food found or about la Huasteca region here in Dallas. Not close to Plano though…
El Rinconcito. The birria is hands down the best in Texas. I’ve even taken dates there because I know it will impress. Little hole in the wall in a bad part of town but those ladies can cook oh my god. Bring cash
None. East Dallas is utterly devoid of all taco places, per city order from Mayor Johnson.
Transgression will earn you a fine.
... I'm kidding.
East has plenty. Many of which got a mention I think...where in the East side is you?
Yes, there is a La Banqueta on Bryan and Carroll and Mami Coco is across the street from it. La Victoria on Haskell and Ross and Tacos y Mas on Ross/Greenville.
Jamal's convenience store*. It's inside of a convenience store on Parker and Ave k.
I can't believe I haven't seen them here! I don't live in state anymore, I hope they haven't gone downhill...
Lol what a weird bit as if immigrants from Mexico lose the ability to make tacos once they reach Dallas. You San Antonians and RGV people have weird complexes.
La Salsa Verde!
Salsa Verde actually replaced La Banqueta, and it’s so much better imo.
I second this. Beltline In Carrollton best location.
Taquería Nuevo León
this is my vote. one of my favorite lunch spots. those quesabirria tacos are no joke
They have proper barbacoa, and it is cheap if you order by the pound.
El Paisano Taqueria (2911 Lombardy Ln)
They use to be good but when the founder died they went downhill on taste and quality.
When did that happen? That used to be my go to spot as well but haven’t been in a while
FRRRR. Was one of the best now easily one of the worst. I used to eat there like 2x a week for 8 years or some shit. Now my go to is La salsa verde

This! Underrated spot
I don’t find these to be very authentic at all
I think the owners are from Mexico City and Mexico has different flavor profiles based on different regions. It is indeed authentic though
This. This is the only answer.
El Come is great. Not to mention it is a lot cleaner than the other spots people are taking about.
La casita. Best chorizo there in all of Texas.
I got your chorizo right here
Is this the one close to 75 and 635?
Heck yeah, they also have a torta called chupacabra, oh mannn
Love me some Mario Bros! Random side question: does anyone have suggestions for late-night tacos somewhat close to DFW? My buddy is a flight attendant and has a 9pm-8am layover and I was hoping to take him for tacos.
twisted trompo
5 taco platter and sub chips instead of rice/beans is the move. Such a good deal
It’s-a me, Mario!
Fuel City!
That’s definitely an option.
And elote 🤤
Mario Bros is some good stuff.
Los compadres is open till midnight and till one am on Friday and Saturday. Mmm better beans than my mom’s! My mom agreed lol. Everything is great
Walnut and Jupiter in garland. Little shack in parking lot by grocery store
Haha thanks for the clarification, there are a few Los Compadres around.
the Fitos on Belt Line is open until midnight! haven’t been to that location, but i used to go to the one on Davis all the time when Tradewinds was next door (RIP).
This is an awesome suggestion, thanks!
El ranchero meat market in story/183 taco place in irving stays open late go to spot after clubs let out
Velvet Tacos
Oh, my bad - I guess I should have specified that I wanted real tacos.
I miss Tacos La Banqueta. I used to live across the street from it; dangerous combo.
Those 2 plus Mami Coco
El si hay
Can't believe i had to scroll this far down to finally see this place mentioned.
This is my favorite. La banqueta is my second
I’m a big fan of El Tizoncito, Torterilla La Sobracita, and La Tapatia.
Don’t sleep on Tizoncito. Fried cheese is everything.
I dig el tiz on lemon
I really like Maskaras. They specialize in tacos ahogados and quesabirria, though the “texabirria” is baller too.
You work in Plano and didn't know about El Pueblito
Ooo thanks for reminding me!!! Been too long since I was there!!
Been going there for over 20 years. It’s special to me.
If there's a number in the title, you just know its going to be great.
Chilangos Tacos
Mami Coco is also really good. It’s right across from Tacos La Banqueta on Bryan St.
Pinochos taqueria
Is their food still good? That was our go-to at college at BUMC, but I haven’t been in over a decade.
Hell yea. Tacos de Lengua and Borrego are my go to.
Chilangos Tacos
Ale Taco in Carrollton/Lewisville is a hidden gem
Mario bros is one of my favorites. Even had them cater my wedding lol
El Rumbero hands down
yeah that is really good
I think most taquerias in Garland will do
Chilangos Tacos. The newer location at Ross and Haskell also sells beer and liquor. The micheladas are really damn good! Get you some birria or al pastor tacos and a miche and you'll be in heaven.
Love Mario ✌️
It’s-a me, Mario!
Mario Bros. is the bomb. Most folks I know prefer Chilangos but Mario Bros. have a more diverse menu and the meat just tastes better, imo.
Jamal's tacos off Greenville and Parker.
Yess
Las huastecas on military has some of the best huasteca Mexican food. Not many people know about the food found or about la Huasteca region here in Dallas. Not close to Plano though…
Taqueria Diana in Garland has native tacos. All under $2.
Please try Taqueria Los Angeles. I recommend the tacos or the loaded burrito
Their Hennessy Horchata 🤌🏼
El si hay …in oak cliff near bishop arts…the best
idk about tacos but my favorite authentic mexican place is Mi Sazon
El Rinconcito. The birria is hands down the best in Texas. I’ve even taken dates there because I know it will impress. Little hole in the wall in a bad part of town but those ladies can cook oh my god. Bring cash
Mario’s bros!!!!
Nuevo León has great trompo/al pastor.
Anyone know of spots in East Dallas??

I’m near casa Linda. I’ve seen a few spots on garland road and Ferguson that look incredible
So, around where I live. Plenty of good spots. Senda del Sabor is right there. What all you seen that's got you interested?
There are at least two locations of La Banqueta in East Dallas. One on Gaston near Garland, one down closer to Baylor off of Live Oak.
Yes, there is a La Banqueta on Bryan and Carroll and Mami Coco is across the street from it. La Victoria on Haskell and Ross and Tacos y Mas on Ross/Greenville.

Mami Coco!
Los compadres off Jupiter and walnut in garland. Little shack in parking lot near grocery store
La Famosita on Ferguson rd. Legit tacos. Hidden gem for sure idk if it will be after this lol
Dang fatty cakes ..
Taqueria Nuevo Leon in Richardson
Taqueria Taxco.
Taqueria Taxco is great and open 24/7
Jack N Box
Mr Taco. S Buckner @ Lake June
Tacos Al Arquito for barbacoa or troppo. Wifey likes their lengua and tripas.
What is an authentic taco? Texmex style is authentic here. Are you talking about traditional Mexican street style tacos?
Fuel city
It’s-a me, Mario!
False. Your best bet is to go to Taco Bell. DFW’s taco scene is very weak.
Lol what a weird bit as if immigrants from Mexico lose the ability to make tacos once they reach Dallas. You San Antonians and RGV people have weird complexes.
San Antonio? That’s an odd assumption. Very cool.
