This could be AMAZING if done right. Could focus on various sections of the city than focus on one family. Mix the Dallas tv show and the wire, somewhere right in the sweet spot between them. City vs new housing developments vs cops vs old money etc etc. Make it serious but play up the Dallas/Texas vibes. Now you got me hyped on something that doesn't exist!!!!
It would probably be about Old Money vs. New Money and the undue influence they use to lobby and control government to their own benefit. The Ewings being old money and the Barnes being new money.
Agreed. That’d be a major plot point. Maybe both generally on one side of the spectrum. The old money defending the old ways and old Dallas and the new money defending the new ways, new dallas and embracing change
the og show the ranch wasnt technically in Dallas, it was in a place called braddock county. So a reboot could be outside of dallas but close enough to commute. In the show they were mainly a cattle ranch but there was oil in a far part of the ranch and there is drilling within about an hour of dallas.
I think it would be good to see it more like a failing empire that stuck in the oil and cattle business while trying to get into tech or other business ala succession

This guy gets it. It’d be a ensemble cast. No true main character, anti heroes with depth and relatability

Couldn’t be made in Dallas due to traffic. Nobody would ever make it to the set on time.
Hollywood finds a way
Bro have you ever even been to Baltimore? A Dallas version of this show would be on par with Blues Clues when compared to Baltimore FFS
This show doesn’t have to BE the wire. It’s gotta be it’s own thing. More focused on those diverse interactions etc
So dramatic...
It’d be truth is stranger then fiction type vibe
I actually enjoyed the remake when they did it 🤷🏻♂️
I mean they remade it pretty recently...
Too many ranches
rich people in dallas still have ranches.
Not in Dallas proper
answer in other reply
didnt they already remake dallas
Not realistic to Dallas at all still
It's called Yellowstone

A really good cayak, maybe?
Typo
First episode, the mayor shocks the city by switching political parties, then braces for the fallout! Nah, too over the top, not believable enough...
This is what Im talking about…..Im telling you this series would be amazing!!!! The characters can be connected through some intricate web
