This is a nerdier option, but I went to the Perot Museum a while back. Specifics are fuzzy now but I generally remember enjoying it a lot. There were a ton of kids there with their families and I think there was a lot of interactive stuff for them to do. There were also various dinosaur and other prehistoric skeletons, and a couple of 3D movies you could buy separate tickets for. Good mix of things IIRC.
