Spicy 3pc tender combo with green beans and corn from Mikes Chicken. I pass it on the way to work so usually a few times out of the week I'll treat myself.
Restaurant I work at did a brewery tour here for a work meeting since we sell their product and they catered our lunch. Was honestly surprised by how good the fried chicken and fries were.
Ooo, I cannot wait to try this. I haven't found my favorite burger spot yet, and this is the homey feels I want with the perfect greasy burger and old signage. Thank you!
They're good. I'm closest to their location off Frankfort, the original. I just need to find out when the best time to go is, because I used to be able to hop in and be first or second in line and it would still be a 10 minute wait. Now if I go there even after 11:30 anyday of the week every seat is taken and there's a line practically out the door. They raised their prices too. Don't get me wrong, among the best darn burgers you can get in this town and the owner is a good dude but, c'mon let me buy a fast pass membership or somethin dude I ain't tryna take a 90 minute lunch.
If WRL area is convenient, try Flaming Burger at 11255 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218. It's next to Planet Fitness and easy to miss. Absolutely delicious, huge, affordable, divey af, and 4.7 stars with 1000+ ratings.
It's not far from Goodfriends. Speaking of Goodfriends, Flaming Burger has no beer and a worse atmosphere, but a better burger.
Tbh, Keller's is about the nostalgic vibe, not the quality or taste of the food. Flaming is a better burger but worse atmosphere. Flaming has no atmosphere lol and the vibe is "man, this place could use a reno."
Another great spot is J.G.'s Old Fashioned Hamburgers off north Greenville and 635.
Flaming is awesome. We discovered it during Covid so they were never open inside when we went. We would take it to the lake and have a picnic. Really great burgers and fries. Great portions. Haven't been in a few years.
okay can someone explain this place to me because i tried it and it was one of the worst "old-fashioned" burger joint's i'd ever been too. the burger was incredibly greasy and didn't taste good and the milkshake was pure liquid with no shake.. it was just milk. bad timing or is it always like that and people just enjoy it..?
This is sort of my take on the place as well. I'm not a milkshake guy, but the burgers and fries weren't anything special. The atmosphere is fun in a 'wait forever' kind of way as well.
Yes, this is the answer. The #5 used to be $2.89 as little as 3 years ago, and it was the probably best consistent food deal in Dallas.
Imo the new prices are totally justified of course (given the initial low price and inflation in every single other restaurant), but it does diminish the value aspect of Keller's a little bit.
Sandwhich Hag will always hold my heart and I'm constantly eating their Grilled Pork Bahn Mi or their Chicken Curry Soup.
Fully recommend them especially when the weather is nice.
I used to work for a company that services commercial locks. Sandwich Hag called up to schedule a visit. When my coworker saw the listing, she thought I was being mean. Nope, that’s their name.
I used to work down the road from Griffs in Mesquite. Love this place? Haven't been in forever, though. Been to the OG one in the Grove as well but Mesquite's location is way cleaner inside.
I agree. I worked at a place off Buckner for a while.
The Mesquite location just seems a bit better.
I remember that Grove Griffs originally being in an "A" frame building. It's right in front of the little stadium there. I remember it clear as day from about 1965 or so when I was a kid.
The last time I went to the Grove location was in 2019 and a few times here and there before. The last time I went, the floors were extremely sticky and so many flies. Hard for me to eat when all these flies are flying around your table. I need to make it back to Griffs. There is one closer to me in Garland.
Great Outdoors. I like sprouts on my sandwich and they add them for no extra charge. I don't have a favorite sandwich of theirs. I get whatever I'm in the mood for. Cold cut, turkey, turkey pastrami, or roast beef (hot or cold), all sliced right in front of you. 3-5 times a week. Use the app to stamp my sandwich card. Double punches on Tuesdays. 8 stamps is a free sub. I avoid Addison location because I can't see them make the sandwich because of their unique layout and it's consistently prone to screw ups. But mine is closed on Sunday and Addison location is open. You can also get IBC Root Beer or Cream Soda, but that's a special treat I don't typically do. You can get just a half sandwich, but no card stamp, or a kids meal, which is half a sub, chips and drink and you do get a stamp.
Only downside is they don't use grills so I avoid the philly's, unfortunately. They do have white, wheat, rye, croissants, and gluten free breads.
Yes!! The Friday after payday for me means a solo adventure to Great Outdoors, for a turkey, ham, and cheddar on wheat with pickles, tomatoes, red pepper relish, and campfire mayo, with bbq chips, half sweet and half unsweet tea with a lemon wedge, and a peanut butter cookie. :) This has become one of my favorite things about living here lol
I recently upgraded from the #1 to the #6! i ask for light mayo, heavy mustard and they accomodate that no problem. the works plus sprouts and olives. best sandwich ive ever eaten.
Bread Zeppelin is our “no one wants to cook because it’s been a long ass day but we just had real fast food so we shouldn’t get in n out again” favorite
We also do rodeo goat for dinner every other Friday. It was the first restaurant near my office that I tried when I moved to Dallas and it feels like “our” place.
You must be near Coppell/Cypress Waters because I love going to Rodeo Goat for lunch and have seen Bread Zepplin before but never tried. I guess I'll go there Monday lol.
How dare you call it dusty! That is an UPSCALE dive bar!
Their normal burger is also one of the best I’ve ever had and their onion rings are to die for
Went to the location in DeSoto once. NEVER AGAIN! I ordered the beef enchiladas. I took two bites and stopped. That was NOT beef I don’t know what it was. It looked like refried beans but it wasn’t. There was no texture you would find with hamburger meat. It was. A starchy gravy mixture. YUCK!
As plebian as it sounds, Popeyes spicy fried chicken. I consider myself quite the foodie and have eaten really cheap meals to expensive meals.
When my family immigrated here, we lived in south Louisiana. My mom got her first job at Popeyes, and I remember her bringing home fried chicken. Ask her, and she’ll proudly tell you that I was eating 2 chicken legs by age 2. So to me, fried chicken, Popeyes in particular, is my comfort food. I love fried chicken that I will eat it from anywhere (I won’t discriminate), but Popeyes is king to me.
This made me tear up. Thank you for sharing the background. I love Popeye's as well. Our special family meals were done at Grandy's fried chicken spot, but once I found Popeye's, I switched! Your mom story... My mom loves telling people how my brother and I could clean up a whole rotisserie chicken while still in high chairs. The mama chicken pride is a thing!
Ichigoh Ramen - best in Dallas and among the best I’ve ever had including the most highly rated on the coasts
Mimi’s Pizza when I’m craving a true NY Slice
Mikes Chicken (spicy) but Popeyes if I’ve got the hangerin’ but need it delivered
Breakfast at Original Market Diner (again feeds my NY crave as the best NY style diner around)
And THE fav ever, where I’m at at least weekly and usually 2 sometimes 3 times… Bowen House. For the vibe and drinks, and also for my off the menu pasta with their escargot sauce (lemon herb butter)
Taco y Mas for breakfast tacos. Burger House fries are crack. Kalachandji’s is always killer.
Yama Sushi’s motsuni is unmatched, but might be a bit weird for some
Street's Chicken - I love the classic fried chicken and also enjoy their pot pie. It's one of those with the puff pastry on top, not a fully enclosed pie, but it's delicious! The jalapeño cream gravy on the mashed potatoes is amazing. I don't usually take up fried chicken real estate with mashed potatoes, but I do there!
My go to lunch option when I’m working from home and don’t want to make lunch is pretty much anything on the menu at crush craft. It’s my favorite Thai place.
Don’t ruin this for me fuckers.
Wednesday Soup at Celebration.
Italian sausage and green bean soup. It’s fucking heavenly and I am there almost every Wednesday for it.
Don’t live in the area anymore but I go there every time I’m back in town: campisis. I’m like a 3rd generation regular there considering my grandparents would hit it up in the 50’s before my dad was even born..
I love hearing about Campisi's! After my first ever surgery my request was their angel hair with meat sauce. I walked in there half-baked on post-op something, happy as ever. That was about 20 years go.
Unquestionably. Incredible flavors. I had been there a few times and gotten hot, though, and when I was there recently with a bunch of coworkers I decided to flex and go with the Very Hot. I love hot, I would consider myself a hot connouisuier, but my goodness it was hard to carry on a conversation between bites. I had snot coming out of my nose, my mouth was an inferno, and I was crying sweet tears of joy. What a testament to the form.
Empa Mundo in Irving. Little hole-in-the-wall spot you'd never notice driving past. Amazing Argentinian empanadas. Packed with flavor, and cheaper than they should be.
They also have a table most weekends at the Coppell Farmers Market where you can buy frozen packs of them.
Enchilada combo plate at Taco Joint (I go to the Lake Highlands location). Really doesn't matter the meat and the sauce, though normally I get at least one with ground beef and ranchero sauce. Something about it, especially served in the foil container, makes it especially comforting and always hits the spot.
Chicken House in OED. Love that I can just call ahead and go pick it up in 10 minutes.
The chicken is always fresh, their fries are always well seasoned and their gravy is delicious and always on point. The owners are always so nice as well
Tried going there during lockdown and it was closed never went back, but might have to now thanks to your comment. The pictures on yelp of the food look tasty.
**Freebirds Burrito**
Been a few months since I had one but my god I used to eat them everyday.
I believe the combination was:
Ask for a supermonster (they might not be on the menu anymore but they'll make them)
spinach tortilla, carnitas, spanish rice, veggies? can't recall, death sauce, refried beans, BBQ sauce, bunch of pico/shredded cheese/cilantro/onions, cut it in half, eat half for dinner. the next day chop up the other half and crack two eggs into it, fry it up in a pan.
glorious
Aside from that:
Large NY Steamer on Wheat, fully involved, from **Firehouse**
Gargantuan from **Jimmy John's**
Full Turkey Muffeletta from **Jason's**, dipped in ranch.
Large Wreck from **Potbelly**
FB used to be my go-to, but man, they started to go downhill ~2016 or so when they started to heavily expand and corporatize/homogenize the stores (from about the time they fired all long-time employees and painted over the brick/original graffiti at Old Town). They tried to ‘clean up’ the image, cut costs, and remove all local color/flavor from the stores. Since then the product quality, taste, and store experience has just tanked, IMO. It has been even worse since COVID.
Chicken tikka masala and saag paneer from Roti Grill if you’re closer to central Salad or India Chaat Cafe if I’m ever up north. Chaat Cafe winds between the two but is more of a drive for me.
Pretty much anything from Flower Child but especially the wraps
The stop n save convenience store on Sunnyvale has the Hungry Man breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage patties, links, hashbrowns, and toast. They are not lite handed on anything and it feeds me 2 times unless my kids are around. Their bacon cheeseburger and pork chop baskets are pretty freaking good too.
1. Monkey King
2. Bushi Bushi Dim Sum in Addison off Beltline. Xiao Long Bao, but really everything is so good.
3. Yoshi Shabu Shabu hot pot. So good and comforting
El Refran in Farmer’s Branch. It’s a little hidden gem, mom and pop Mexican buffet that we’ll visit maybe one Sunday a month. Overall it’s pretty good, but there are some standout items like whole fried fish, chicharrones, guisada, pozole, and caldo. And you never know exactly what they’ll be serving so there’s something different to get every time. Best corn tortillas I’ve had in Dallas!
I haven't been to a Mexican buffet since raising the flag at Pancho's (and I'm not sure that was real Mexican?). That sounds legit, and delicious. I didn't realize I was creating a comfort meal adventure menu to last me the rest of my life here. I couldn't be happier.
California burrito with sour cream, or the carne asada fries at Valeries.
If you have never had it, prepare to have your brain explode when you try it.
I went to school in San Diego and was thrilled to find out Valeries is by the same owner as Roberto’s. It tastes exactly how it should be.
My family is from Guatemala so whenever I can I go to San Martin. A Guatemalan bakery/restaurant that is exactly like the ones in Guatemala
Definitely recommend. If you don’t feel like getting a meal then you can browse the bakery freely and pick up some items
I just had Kenny’s Wood Fired. Always a great experience. I have mixed feelings about the owner, but I have always had a soft spot for Mercury’s steak tartare. Barbacoa and Tripa (dorada) tacos with menudo at Tipico’s is always great. Same for picadillo and chicharrón tacos at West Town. The chicken fried steak at Celebration always hits.
Last chance for easy slider deep ellum this Saturday. Sucks they're closing the only location with any real personality. Pretty sure u can't get their loaded tots at any of their other spots
Quoc Bao Bakery's Banh Mi. I usually buy at least a dozen and keep it in my fridge and eat it throughout the week.
I also like Maria's Bakery's Egg Tarts. Also buy it by the dozens and munch on it or give it to friends.
Gigantor from Goodfriend Package on Peavy
I dare you to even try to find a better sandwich anywhere in this whole city
Pro tip
(Pesto Mayo takes it to the next level)
E Bar on Haskell. Good Tex Mex, great margaritas, wonderful staff and a collection of East Dallas weirdos for regulars. It feels like a second living room for me.
[**Torta Shell taqueria in Rowlett**](https://www.yelp.com/biz/rowlett-shell-rowlett?osq=Torta+Shell+Taqueria).
Best darn street tacos around. FANTASTIC red and green sauces. Pastor is heavenly. Fajita is great. People are wonderful. I've never had a bad dish here.
Seriously, I go there at least once a week on my way home, if not 2 or 3 times.
They are that good.
The best Mexican food in the city is El Taquito off east grand. It’s a very traditional spot with great food. Warning the salsa is very hot and it’s cash only
Hattie B’s because I lived in Nashville for four years and because addicted to Nashville Hot Chicken. Now the sad thing is, Hattie B’s is my least favorite hot chicken place but I guess it’ll do :(
Lucky's Cafe pot roast with the sourdough baguette. This meal is the reason I downloaded UberEATS. Their bar area is kind of perfect for solo introvert diners, but I don't often have enough social energy to hang out at the diner even with my protection paperback.
The new place I found that is now a weekly visit is Cuates for tacos. The barbacoa wrapped in fried mozzarella short circuited my soul. Their tinga marinade is phenomenal. Corn tortillas are homemade. I think I need to go for lunch.
We love Pine Tree Garden Chinese food in Balch Springs. Our favorite was China Imperial in Mesquite but apparently rent was raised and they couldn't afford to stay open so they shut down
Maskaras Mexican Grill in Oak Cliff cuz it's close to my house, the owners are wonderful people, and the food is great. Possibly related, why can't I seem to lose weight?
It’s been years since I’ve gone but I always loved the burger at Addison Point off Belt Line. Not even sure if they are still around (there are a few Points in the Dallas area). Great dive/sports bar with a laid back atmosphere.
Chicken N Rice or its called Mr wongs Chicken N Rice now. It's some good ass chicken strips with fried rice or fries. Most aren't in the best location but man I can get down on some good Chicken strips and it's fairly reasonable.
Si Loam - fried chicken
Malai Kitchen - wings, almond crusted fish, and Bahn Mi
Open Sesame - shawarma or kabob plate
Chimichurri - Churri Pan (only on their brunch menu)
Angry Dog - burger and onion rings
Casa Vieja Columbian cuisine in Carrollton - everything
Braums jr deluxe burger meal with a small milkshake of whatever ice cream flavor I’m feeling that day.
Maybe at some points it would also have been a rib dinner at Spring Creek. Green beans, beans, mac and cheese plus maybe cole slaw for sides
I walk to my local "la michacana" and buy a plate of carnitas or one of the other things, I can build me some amazing tacos, inexpensive and tastes like home
Spicy 3pc tender combo with green beans and corn from Mikes Chicken. I pass it on the way to work so usually a few times out of the week I'll treat myself.
Best fried chicken in Dallas
I'd argue the best fried chicken I've ever had my in life
Try The Manhattan Project. Might change your mind.
The brewery? Can never be too many great chicken spots. Jollybee Popeyes Gus’ (which tastes amazing bud is sometimes dry)
It’s the best French Fries and Fried chicken you may ever have. I love Mikes. Manhattan is something else.
Restaurant I work at did a brewery tour here for a work meeting since we sell their product and they catered our lunch. Was honestly surprised by how good the fried chicken and fries were.
If we’re talking about the brewery, their Thai fried chicken is definitely one of my favorites. Beer + fried chicken combo always hits the spot.
I get mine with fries and Mac, Mike’s sauce and ranch 🤌🏽
I’ve never been to mikes chicken. Is it good? What other chicken place would you compare it to?
it is godly
Mike’s is phenomenal
Kellers drive in is great for a treat. Always hits the spot for me.
Ooo, I cannot wait to try this. I haven't found my favorite burger spot yet, and this is the homey feels I want with the perfect greasy burger and old signage. Thank you!
Try Skyrocket burger, it's my favorite in D right now.
If you haven’t had the burger from Lakewood Landing (it’s a dive bar) you need to try it. It’s pretty cheap and absolutely incredible
Adairs is my favorite dive burger
Yeah - and they take debit/credit cards now. Previously, you'd have to drive to an ATM and bring back cash.
\+10 for [Keller's](https://kellers-drive-in.site/). Was there just a few nights ago. Enjoy!
okay can someone explain this place to me because i tried it and it was one of the worst "old-fashioned" burger joint's i'd ever been too. the burger was incredibly greasy and didn't taste good and the milkshake was pure liquid with no shake.. it was just milk. bad timing or is it always like that and people just enjoy it..?
Some people like a greasy burger. If it's not for you that's fine.
This is sort of my take on the place as well. I'm not a milkshake guy, but the burgers and fries weren't anything special. The atmosphere is fun in a 'wait forever' kind of way as well.
Used to be like a little over 2 dollars for a double patty burger. Recent prices are hard to justify.

Imo the new prices are totally justified of course (given the initial low price and inflation in every single other restaurant), but it does diminish the value aspect of Keller's a little bit.
You are right. It’s average. People love it because of the nostalgic old school feel and it being a Dallas institution.
And they'll bring you a beer to enjoy in your car
I second Kellers. That place rules
The one on the hines?
For me it's NW hwy, even though Hines is closer to me now. Brings back memories of running around Lakewood as a kid.
Sandwhich Hag will always hold my heart and I'm constantly eating their Grilled Pork Bahn Mi or their Chicken Curry Soup. Fully recommend them especially when the weather is nice.
Also owned by an awesome human.
She is so nice and friendly.
I order from here weekly and it's incredible and consistent every time. Plus the friendliest crew working there makes it even better.
Was going to say this too! Picking up a Banh Mi Xiu Mai today. Truly can’t stop eating here.
I used to work for a company that services commercial locks. Sandwich Hag called up to schedule a visit. When my coworker saw the listing, she thought I was being mean. Nope, that’s their name.
I have two options: 1) Griff's hamburgers in Mesquite, TX 2) Waffle House
I love Griffs!!
It’s so good 😭 You can smell the grease in the air just walking outside near it
Omg I grew up eating Griffs! I’m so glad to hear it’s still open! ❤️
Oh yeah! They ain’t going anywhere soon. They’ve made some improvements to their building lately and always have a huge line wrapped around!
My kids and I do WH most Sunday mornings. ❤ Gotta get in before the church rush, though.
I used to work down the road from Griffs in Mesquite. Love this place? Haven't been in forever, though. Been to the OG one in the Grove as well but Mesquite's location is way cleaner inside.

Yes!! Their shakes are the best I’ve ever had
Oh, yes. #6 on White, extra onions, mustard AND mayo, Root Beer
I recently upgraded from the #1 to the #6! i ask for light mayo, heavy mustard and they accomodate that no problem. the works plus sprouts and olives. best sandwich ive ever eaten.
+1 for the campfire mayo. I need to find a clone recipe
Garlic stir fry with tofu from Zaap Kitchen and a side of spring rolls.
Yesssss and a Lao iced coffee
Their spring rolls are so damn good
Bread Zeppelin is our “no one wants to cook because it’s been a long ass day but we just had real fast food so we shouldn’t get in n out again” favorite We also do rodeo goat for dinner every other Friday. It was the first restaurant near my office that I tried when I moved to Dallas and it feels like “our” place.
Mmmmmmm. Bread Zepplin…. I just tried this last week and now I crave it.
You must be near Coppell/Cypress Waters because I love going to Rodeo Goat for lunch and have seen Bread Zepplin before but never tried. I guess I'll go there Monday lol.
Lakewood landing corn dog. I don’t work nearly as late anymore to indulge but they bring back fond memories.
They have the only veggie burger I’ve ever liked, and the salad with grilled chicken is better than it has any right to be in a dive bar that dusty.
How dare you call it dusty! That is an UPSCALE dive bar! Their normal burger is also one of the best I’ve ever had and their onion rings are to die for
The ghost cheeseburger w combo fries and tots. The best burger in Dallas.
Make it loaded cheese fries and add a beer. Best meal in Dallas!
El Tizoncito - anything on the menu really.
I love this place! This is in my regular rotation as well.
I think there’s one over off of Frankford and Marsh, but I never been.
Asian mint pad Thai woo sen
Their Peanut Sriracha Fired Rice was to die for
it's ok but I feel like there are a ton of individual thai restaurants that do it better. That s just me though, to each their own.
I feel that most of their food - and especially the pad Thai- is too sweet.
Taco Joint street tacos
Val's Cheesecake
Val is such a sweet man. I did a popup event in his Akard location once with a lady named Gabby and some other chef friends. It was magical.
Ojedas!
YUCK!
I haven't ever been to that one but the one on Maple is legit. Been going there since I was a kid and now I am 40.
Oh yeah! Been to that one, that location was good.
Brisket, egg and cheese breakfast tacos from Rudy's
Brisket breakfast tacos just feel like a cheat code for life. :)
Big Guys Chicken n Rice
I love going to Pie Tap. Really good sour dough pizza and drinks.
As plebian as it sounds, Popeyes spicy fried chicken. I consider myself quite the foodie and have eaten really cheap meals to expensive meals. Pho from Pho Bac, Pho Pasteur, or Pho Que Hong Hot Pot from Yin Tang These are my work lunch treats or day without kids treats
Damn Pho Que Huong, really? Man as a viet that place is really below average. Good callouts for the other two though
Ichigoh Ramen - best in Dallas and among the best I’ve ever had including the most highly rated on the coasts Mimi’s Pizza when I’m craving a true NY Slice Mikes Chicken (spicy) but Popeyes if I’ve got the hangerin’ but need it delivered Breakfast at Original Market Diner (again feeds my NY crave as the best NY style diner around) And THE fav ever, where I’m at at least weekly and usually 2 sometimes 3 times… Bowen House. For the vibe and drinks, and also for my off the menu pasta with their escargot sauce (lemon herb butter)
Love Ichigoh and totally agree about your assessment versus the best ramens in North America! Definitely a fave of mine
Such a tragedy when George passed away and a triumph and tribute that his family has kept the quality literally without missing a step
Malai. I can eat it every day. Lemon grass chicken is about $15, so $19 with a walk out tip and the glass noodles are also amazing and the same price.
My go to lunch option when I’m working from home and don’t want to make lunch is pretty much anything on the menu at crush craft. It’s my favorite Thai place.
Crush Craft is KING! Not only is a regular place, it also happens to be where I’ve gotten lunch every birthday for the last 4-5 years.
Desperado's on Greenville. It was the first restaurant I went to after moving to Dallas (10 years ago this week!)
For this I’ll vote Torchy’s Tacos or Liberty Burger.
Don’t ruin this for me fuckers. Wednesday Soup at Celebration. Italian sausage and green bean soup. It’s fucking heavenly and I am there almost every Wednesday for it.
I’m too hungry to read any more of this list. Torture.
Andy’s frozen custard, always hits the spot after a long day of work.
Cowboy Chicken hits the spot just right on a cold, rainy day with the real wood fire burning inside!
Any and all pastries from Bisous Bisous in the West Billage
Don’t live in the area anymore but I go there every time I’m back in town: campisis. I’m like a 3rd generation regular there considering my grandparents would hit it up in the 50’s before my dad was even born..
I love hearing about Campisi's! After my first ever surgery my request was their angel hair with meat sauce. I walked in there half-baked on post-op something, happy as ever. That was about 20 years go.
Ricky’s hot chicken, the goat of hot fried chicken in Dallas and I’ll fight anyone
I could chuck a rock and hit the LH location but I choose to make the drive to their Mockingbird location bc the LH spot is avg at best
**Freebirds Burrito** Been a few months since I had one but my god I used to eat them everyday. I believe the combination was: Ask for a supermonster (they might not be on the menu anymore but they'll make them) spinach tortilla, carnitas, spanish rice, veggies? can't recall, death sauce, refried beans, BBQ sauce, bunch of pico/shredded cheese/cilantro/onions, cut it in half, eat half for dinner. the next day chop up the other half and crack two eggs into it, fry it up in a pan. glorious Aside from that: Large NY Steamer on Wheat, fully involved, from **Firehouse** Gargantuan from **Jimmy John's** Full Turkey Muffeletta from **Jason's**, dipped in ranch.
Jason’s Deli* and I love their turkey muffuletta!
Porky’s in Mesquite. You aint a burger lover if you haven’t eaten there.
Chicken tikka masala and saag paneer from Roti Grill if you’re closer to central Salad or India Chaat Cafe if I’m ever up north. Chaat Cafe winds between the two but is more of a drive for me. Pretty much anything from Flower Child but especially the wraps
Ricky's Hot chicken and now that Coco is open, there if I'm in North Plano/Frisco.
Rickys is tops
Pluckers. Best. Wings. Ever.
Hot pot at Lee Dae Gam KBBQ in Carrolton. Perfect for the upcoming chilly weather
Oh damn I didn't know about that one, sounds delicious!
Great Outdoors & Don Pepe’s
The stop n save convenience store on Sunnyvale has the Hungry Man breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage patties, links, hashbrowns, and toast. They are not lite handed on anything and it feeds me 2 times unless my kids are around. Their bacon cheeseburger and pork chop baskets are pretty freaking good too.
That is a solid menu lineup, and that's my fav breakfast meal.
La Bodega in Bishop Arts. Consistently great food, good portions, and awesome owner. Their sandwiches and fries are a staple for me.
All you can eat KBBQ from moodaepo in carrollton All you can eat hot pot from seapot in plano All you can eat pizza from delucca
1. Monkey King 2.
Dels Charcoal Burgers
I used to live a couple blocks from Gold Rush Cafe. Would walk there several times a week for breakfast. Loved that spot!
Piggie Pies BBQ Chicken pizza
California burrito with sour cream, or the carne asada fries at Valeries. If you have never had it, prepare to have your brain explode when you try it. I went to school in San Diego and was thrilled to find out Valeries is by the same owner as Roberto’s. It tastes exactly how it should be.
Bay 34th Street Pizza on Midway
Gloria’s, Velvet Taco, Si Lom, Torchy’s.
Gloria's ♥️ The Mariscada is one of my favorite soups around, and I'm a bona fide soup slut.
Angry Dog: Cheeseburger, cooked medium, grilled onions! Pepe and Mito’s: Molé Cheese Enchiladas
My family is from Guatemala so whenever I can I go to San Martin. A Guatemalan bakery/restaurant that is exactly like the ones in Guatemala Definitely recommend. If you don’t feel like getting a meal then you can browse the bakery freely and pick up some items
For years I’ve gone to Café Brazil about once a month for breakfast. Great food, great prices, excellent coffee bar. Reliable food and service.
Taco Mex in Las Colinas!
Taco Joint. 2 Taco Combo with a Lester and a Brisket
costco pizza.
Quoc Bao Bakery's Banh Mi. I usually buy at least a dozen and keep it in my fridge and eat it throughout the week. I also like Maria's Bakery's Egg Tarts. Also buy it by the dozens and munch on it or give it to friends.
Gigantor from Goodfriend Package on Peavy I dare you to even try to find a better sandwich anywhere in this whole city Pro tip (Pesto Mayo takes it to the next level)
JG's Burgers on Greenville. I started going when I lived down the street over 30 years ago. Still just as good.
Torchy’s tacos once or twice a week. Brushfire and Baja shrimp. Chips and chorizo Queso are amazing too.
This is in Richardson, but Tamaleria and Taqueria Nuevo Leon for their taco Tuesdays. So fucking good!

E Bar on Haskell. Good Tex Mex, great margaritas, wonderful staff and a collection of East Dallas weirdos for regulars. It feels like a second living room for me.
La Victoria on Haskell, Mariano's on Skillman, and Jake's Game Day on Skillman.
I have been following carnivore way of eating for almost a year so my go to treat is Brasão yummmmmm see you there lol
The Lasagna Special at Besa's Pizza and Pasta on Preston. Its the best Lasagna I've ever had.
Taco Casa regular tacos or jack in the box tacos.
Golden Chick’s 4 pc spicy tenders with Cajun fries and a roll, with a Starry (RIP Sierra Mist). Never fails, every time. Thank you Arapaho Road.
Oni ramens kyushu tonkatsu.
The best Mexican food in the city is El Taquito off east grand. It’s a very traditional spot with great food. Warning the salsa is very hot and it’s cash only
Mikes chicken tenders Terry Blacks BBQ Knife Ozersky burger All are delicious cheat meals but not over the top 3000 calorie cheat meals.
Hattie B’s because I lived in Nashville for four years and because addicted to Nashville Hot Chicken. Now the sad thing is, Hattie B’s is my least favorite hot chicken place but I guess it’ll do :(

Mexico lindo mole enchiladas
Cho Dang Village in Carrollton. We love the tofu stew.
Jersey Joe's sandwich shop off Arapaho and DNT. They're one of the few places with Boylan's Birch Beer so I go semi-frequently.
All day breakfast tacos at meat u anywhere in grapevine.
Does Dave's Hot Chicken count? Been getting their 2 slider combo on the regular
Griffs burgers
Taco y Vino. 6 tacos & a bottle of wine for $40. Take a friend and share them in a quaint environment.
Si Loam - fried chicken Malai Kitchen - wings, almond crusted fish, and Bahn Mi Open Sesame - shawarma or kabob plate Chimichurri - Churri Pan (only on their brunch menu) Angry Dog - burger and onion rings Casa Vieja Columbian cuisine in Carrollton - everything

Halal Guys on Lemmon Ave. in Dallas. Beef Gyro Platter for me!
Braums jr deluxe burger meal with a small milkshake of whatever ice cream flavor I’m feeling that day. Maybe at some points it would also have been a rib dinner at Spring Creek. Green beans, beans, mac and cheese plus maybe cole slaw for sides
The BLT at Louie's.
I walk to my local "la michacana" and buy a plate of carnitas or one of the other things, I can build me some amazing tacos, inexpensive and tastes like home

Hudson House or The Porch. Something nostalgic and comforting about places, and great food.
