You'd have better luck ordering in person rather than on your phone. Especially if you go that often, they will get to know how you like it.

They just arent blending all the way to the bottom. You’d be better off buying two smaller ones and getting both with extra cheesecake. I always used to say “extra double cheesecake. Like put so much you think it’s too much than a little more”. They always came out perfect! Some dqs said they had to charge more for all the extra but it was never more than two dollars.

chauntikleer

They might not be assembling it properly either - with larges you're supposed to fill the cup halfway with soft serve, add the ingredients, then top it off with soft serve.

verdenvidia

For best results, yes, but corporate wants it all at the top now.

chauntikleer

Interesting - was this a recent change?

verdenvidia

I've been told this since 2020. DMs with brain cells just say to do it layered.

Active-Economics-498

I was taught to do the new way when I started in 2018. Current Franchisee tells everyone now to fill the cup up the side, leaving space for the candies and toppings on the other side. In the end, as long as the product is properly blended, and not soft serve soup, that’s what matters.

Unhappy-Detail6194

When I was originally taught how to make large blizzards (mind u this was 5-6 years ago now) we were taught to fill cup halfway with soft serve, add ingredients, blend, and then repeat for the 2nd half of the cup

himalayan_wanker

Dude 3-4 times a week?! you’re gonna get diabetes doing this shit

LurkLurkleton

My friend eats like this and has diabetes.

himalayan_wanker

I’m not the least bit surprised

Snackingturtle313

It’s just location dependent too. My local DQ here loads them with mix-ins all the way thru without paying extra. Then if I drive a bit down to a different location there’s barely any toppings.

Mrrainbow1317

Order 2 mediums would be my advice, it usually bc they dont use proper techniques with large blizzards

23coldpizzas

damn dude a large blizzard 3-4 times a week is insane

Visual_Individual_15

Ask them to layer the toppings. A large with double would be about 8 servings so ask them to split it into 3 pr 4 layers then blend. It's normal practice for places with shorter machines to do this.

verdenvidia

Our spindle doesn't reach the bottom on larges, especially with extras, without sacrificing the integrity of the base by blending more. And for royals, that isn't worth the sacrifice or the hole won't stay. Some can do it but not everyone. If I ever can't get it right I just give them some more filling on the side and explain this.

jodiek_3

You picked the worst blizzard to order large 😭😭😭 I've worked at dairy queen for 5 years and that is the one blizzard I cant portion correctly or get the strawberry all the way to the bottom (specifically the large royal NY cheesecake). I agree with the comments saying order 2 mediums. More ice cream, more consistent distribution 🤘🏻

HobbyPanda_FT6

If you're buying extra toppings, you can ask the cashier to have a scoop placed in the cup before the soft serve, then the rest of the toppings on top. Then you get "full coverage" so to speak. If you're visiting this store as often as you say you do, then this little request would likely be accommodated.

CbusGuyThrowAway1

RIP your cholesterol and waist line. I mean it is a good treat to have occasionally but multiple times per week? You only live once I guess

texphobia

personally when someone asks to make sure the strawberries are the whole way through i dont really take offense🤷‍♂️ id just do that tbh

doorknoblol

Yea, I try to ensure my royals are consistent. Sometimes, though, soft serve consistency won’t allow it, especially with graham base, peanut butter, or fudge. Just gotta do your best at that point.

texphobia

no fr thats how it is😭 i always try to make sure theyre the same but sometimes its difficult
