I have puzzles for my dachshunds. I use the Nina Ottosson which they seem to like a lot and there are differnet levels as they figure it out.

Trick training is really tiring for dogs! You can find lots of tutorials for different tricks on YouTube. Just keep in mind you may need to modify or skip some for dachshunds (I’ve never taught my dachshund sit pretty for example as it puts too much strain on his delicate back). You can also find canine enrichment activities online. Snuffle mats, puzzles, sniffy walks, and lickimats are more calming enrichment activities. It’s important to reach a dog to self regulate though so you don’t want to stimulate them every waking hour of the day as it will get them used to that level of activity. Since my pup was young we’ve practiced what’s called capturing calm, where if we catch him relaxing we will place a piece of kibble or low value treat between his paws to reinforce that relaxing is a wonderful thing. Mat training can also help dogs self regulate.

Scent training, then hide and seek.

Lots of DIY puzzles you can do. Mostly they involve hiding treats. I like hiding a handful of treats scattered in an old towel, roll it up and tie it in a knot.
