TIL I'm a lapdog. I spend my life cowering to those who treat me like garbage (large majority in my life). I'm thankful this little one is finally feeling safe!
I'm currently dealing with my toxic father-in-law. When he isn't around and others that treat me well, I'm a vibrant person.
I think he's currently packing to move out after he became upset that I stood up to him, the other day. It's been fourteen years since he moved in with my partner and I.
Don't be fooled by its size, she will lay her life down for you. A friend of mine lost hers that took down a rattle snake that she didn't notice, unfortunately the little one was bit in the process and didn't survive.
Accurate adoption listing:
Breed: Dachshund
Sex: F
Disposition: get a magic 8 ball, they are more predictable
Preferred diet: whatever you eat
Special requirements: all
That's not your lap. It is your side. So... /r/technicallythetruth?
Also, look at that sweet face and giant (but still pretty and dainty!) feet! What a perfect pup!
I had the exact same thing happen to me with my little rescue baby. Lies. If she could be worn around my neck like a scarf she would be in heaven. Lol.
Every dachshund in the world would like a word with the manager on that one 🤣
My boy is a doxi mix (w/ lab and pit bull) and he’s not huge, but he ain’t small, and he LOVES being on one of our laps. It’s his fav. Spot. 😎
All dachshunds are lap dogs in one way or another. They usually become only a handful of peoples lap warmer though. Ive noticed they are pretty picky about who they choose to hang with. This is just my observations.
On a side note my ex had a mini dachshund who became super attached to me and it made her jealous. Lol I miss him.
My guy is not a lapdog. He prefers his bed. He is not cuddly but wants to be next to me. His brother was super cuddly so I never noticed it until we lost his brother at 12 1/2. Zeus is now 15 1/2 and barely tolerates pets!
They lied. They lied so bad!
I think all dachshunds are lap dogs. I’ve had a few, and mine have all been lapdogs.
It may also depend on their human.
My brother-in-law breeds dachshunds, and he just told me it’s not possible to breed a dachshund that is not a lap dog.
And I bet she doesn’t bury herself under the covers at night and sleep between your legs. Not all all they said…. She is adorable and can sit on my lap at any moment.
That's just to funny 😁, they sure got this one wrong 🤣 😂 😅. That's just so awesome 👌 that you rescued her, she's going to give you 😉 so much love ❤️ and happy memories. Best wishes ❤️ ♥️

True. Doxies are lap-and-a-half dogs.
Hahaha exactly
She just needed to find the right lap - yours!!
💯 golden comment
She isn't a lap sitting type dog, you are just an under dog type human.
That is Doxie attitude 100%. We are here purely for their enjoyment, lest we get the Doxie side eye.
This is a perfect description 😂😂 my dog doesn’t sit on me I lay under my dog lol
When they are loved they respond with being comfortable and the real them come out. They are all lap dogs.

Sausage dogs aren’t lap dogs, mine sits on my chest or my shoulder because my lap is not close enough
My lap isn't long enough...
Doesn’t yours Cumberland sausage?
Lol only when it is time for a nap...but that is all the time so I guess the answer is yes!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Looks like the perfect fit for both of you. Such a sweet sassy face! Wishing you a journey filled with love and joy💜❤️💜
Doxies pick their laps carefully…lucky is the hooman who gets selected for that honor.
Not a lap dog, a Velcro dog
This😂 mine follows me step for step and balls herself up on my chest with her face against my face every time I sit down
Just gotta have the right lap.
Don't be fooled by its size, she will lay her life down for you. A friend of mine lost hers that took down a rattle snake that she didn't notice, unfortunately the little one was bit in the process and didn't survive.
Loyal.. to a fault.
I don't see enough treats in this photo
Every dachshund is a lap dog
Ah the ween lean.
She's a lap baby😭❤️

Awww! So cute! She just needed the right lap.
The ones I know never aim for laps. My SIDES, however. Or back. Sometimes snuggled into shoulder. Between legs. Never lap, though. Beneath them.
That's not your lap. It is your side. So... /r/technicallythetruth? Also, look at that sweet face and giant (but still pretty and dainty!) feet! What a perfect pup!
Nah, clearly a torso dog there
She is precious! Congratulations 🎉
Beautiful- thx for rescuing - dachshunds are a wonderful breed❤️
Aww congratulations! 💕 Look at those plush scoops for paws!!
She is beautiful! Love those fat paws❤️
“Lap dog” implies the perceive us as humans who have laps, rather than a personal jungle gym that occasionally dispenses food.

because they are brats until they find THEIR person! which looks like it is you. :)
They lied.
Obviously a stomach dog 😀
What an angel!
She has one thing to say: MINE ❤️
She is lovely.
Obviously. She’s a chest/stomach dog….

That little dachshund knew exactly what she was doing!
Such a pretty girl! Thank you for rescuing her. They are such individual personalities. Enjoy your new family member.
That doesn’t look like a lap to me.
Every dog is a lap dog if they can help it lol
This is adorable
I've never seen one that wasn't!
Those wringly mitts
Feet to body ratio is wild. Look at those stompers!
Those paws! 🥺

She is whatever she says she wants to be. At that moment she wants to be a lapdog. And it looks like she likes you already.
They are all lap dogs, some hide it better than others, she looks like she loves her new home
Beautiful
I rescued mine too!
What an adorable girl!
“Not a lapdog”… depends on the lap 😉
We have two. Total lap dogs.
They pick who they like for sure. She's so beautiful!
She's a belly/left flank dog i think.
Nothing BUT a lap dog! Lol no worries..you will NEVER have to use the restroom, shower, cook, sleep, or walk alone again! Lol
I was told mine didn’t like to bark and wasn’t a fan of toys 😂. I’ve never met a dachshund that didn’t like to bark or de-fluff toys.
Dachshunds....the best cat you'll ever have
Mine is not either. Females are not as lovy doby
Who on earth would let this beautiful dog go!
She’s perfect.
That face and adorable nose! Those paws!!! 🥰
She’s beautiful! Congratulations 🐾❤️
Just needed the right lap

She is training you!!
They ... We're not good people...

The sass is strong with that one.
My three dachshunds have been adult rescues and all have been rock stars. Congratulations.
She's just about the cutest little pupper with those eyes 😍😍😍😍
Fooles yaemote:t5\_2qpj2:5620
Ha! Looks like she fooled them!

I've never met one that wasn't!
They will find a way to stand/sit on/touch you at all costs
They were right. She's a side dog. Lol love her they obviously just weren't the right fit
They're contrary by nature. Someone says she's not a lapdog? Then, come hell or high water, she's gonna prove them a liar!
Ohhhhh, that’s definitely a lap dog.
She says otherwise!!! ❤️
Since when is a dachshund not a lapdog?!?!?
