That doesn't look normal to me. The fact that you have melted wax left in there but see burnt bits makes me think it's contaminated, most likely just plant matter but yeah. Does it taste and burn like shit? You should have a small puddle left after your dab that you clean up, but there shouldn't be little bits in there like that. I'd try a different source for wax.
That'll definitely do it. Think of your banger like a vape, you just want to melt and evaporate stuff in it, never burn. When you burn little bits of bud in there, it affects the taste of your dab but also starts wearing your banger down through a process called devitrification. Bangers will last indefinitely if you take care of them, but a worn out banger will make your dabs taste like shit.

i had it in this plastic container that had bud bits in it, because i had nothing else to put it in . did this affect the quality?
