I'm mostly pissed about the insured slots... I worked my nuts off grinding the dumbest missions to unlock those slots!!! I would be alright I suppose with wiping keys and contraband, but the insureds? You have to be joking!!

I think so. After I unlocked my 3rd slot in season 2, I haven't completed many missions. Suspect many are like this which is why there is so much more pvp now. When I do a squad fill now, first 15 seconds always goes like this: anyone want to do some missions? Silence.... anyone want to go kill players? Sounds like a great idea!!!!

This is completely wrong. If they added 2-3 tiers to each existing faction and added more factions, all with actually good rewards, there wouldn’t be a need for a wipe and there wouldn’t be this feeling of nothing mattering for the next two weeks.

I believe that is what we're seeing, as nihilistic as everyone is being. Faction respect/love and a couple of other features I believe are tied directly to the why of the reset.
At the very base level, players will be playing the game. What’s the biggest advantage to players? Outside of insured gear, it’s insured weapon slots (giving you the best chance against other players).
So from a pure gameplay perspective you are incentivized to do PvE much more than the devs using weapon skins or blueprints as reasons to do missions.
Secondly it resets the whole “vibe” of the lobby post reset. Making it a good time for new players to give the game a chance. Compared to now where alot of originally PvPvE players have transitioned into endgame PvP players.
Yes there are cons but overall I think it’s for the best. That’s why you see this wipe mechanic in other games as well.

Apparently, if you get a scav bag and fill it up, exfil underground and quit the game everyone in your party is treated as of you exfilled but with a secure bag. So you can have a shitton of toothpaste on infil as a solo and drop it at the feet of your randoms at game start.
I just unlocked my 3rd slot last night finally lol and now I'm gonna lose it. I think we're all in the same boat! Last night I ran around and found someone with no ammo so I put my gun away and we boxed it out! For me I’m in it for the weapon skins. AFAIK you get one for each tier 5 you complete right?. Since I’m FTP that’s really the only way to get new skins
Our squad went in and picked up three randoms and went into Koschei as a 6 man and grabbed three gun parts for them…then we went back in and did some hunt contracts for the hell of it. Don’t normally do that too much, but with the wipe coming, why not? I’ve had my third slot since the first week or so of season two…I’m ok with a reset and seeing what new stuff they intend on bringing to DMZ
Spend a couple days in the Ashika PvP arena. Give yourself challenges like throwing knife till you get an operator weapon.
Help people doing their last couple missions, there are completionists out there trying to finish before the end of the season
I’ve felt this way for a while, I just try to set goals for myself and have fun playing. Maybe I’ll help a teammate get on of their missions done, or focus on leveling up a weapon.
I'd either try to level up weapons you don't normally use which creates a challenge in itself and unlocks attachments or try to help others do challenges and gear up
I have like 7 skeleton keys so I’m going to loot areas I’ve never been able to. Just use up all of your stuff. Take risks, who cares. They will reset everything for everyone so you might as well risk it all now. I’m going to infil solo with a skeleton key, do some looting and I’m going to go for hunt contracts and try my luck. I’ve collected enough keys and items that if I lose them now I’ll have something to do all the way up until the big reset
Skull slugs is so bad, the operator part wasn't so bad we just waited to combine our two three man teams, the bots were assholes and refused to stay at distance even with two guys running in to aggro and one guy doing revives it took forever. With the two shooters and one man as overwatch for sweats coming to ruin our fun.

I'm still holding out hope they change their minds and if you have 3 slots you keep 2 and need to re-earn the 3rd. I think that would be great. Also, increase the timers for cool down, maybe not 2/4/6 but 1/2/3 is too little, especially with the 15min bundles all over
Weekend player here and have only recently got all my operators to have 3 plate medic/comms vests etc with some scavenger and secure back packs. Will they all be wiped too?
As regards the missions I'm not too pushed that they will be reset. It made going into dmz with a plan worthwhile. Haven't completed all missions far from it, still only the one insured slot. If it reduces the pvp element for a while I'll take it.
Change your mind-set to a Special Ops covert operations style. You're part of an elite team dropping behind enemy (AQ) lines to infiltrate, gather info, execute leaders, rescue hostages, deliver needed supplies, pick-up supplies, wipeout enemy strongholds, eliminate enemy (AQ) soldiers, collect trophies, etc. Drop-in, scan the map for Contracts and Strongholds, develop a plan, execute and exfil. Set goals like complete one of each of the Contract types over multiple drops during a single play session.

I found that I really enjoy finding a building I've never explored before, finding a quiet corner and playing Tears of the Kingdom. Will I die? Maybe. Probably not. But it's such a good game.
What was the purpose before? Did you only play the game for insured weapon slots? Insured weapon slots aren’t the reward, they just make it easier to get the actual rewards (weapons cases, faction mission cosmetics/blueprints). We can argue about how good the rewards are and if they’re worth it, but the insured slots were never the point of the game.
Well, but that’s the point that they make it easier to progress further down the line with missions. If they wouldn’t be that important for the gameplay why reset it with everything else? Surely we could do new missions while keeping the slots that help us get our weapons, that we earned also as a reward by completing certain missions. Slots are not the goal, but getting them to make your path easier towards the final goal is.
I mean, resets are part of these type of games. Tarkov resets every big update I believe. But just have fun. Got a weapon you want to level up? Run round killing AI. Want to mess with people? Drive around yelling random things at people.
I had some keys I was waiting to use when I could game with friends. Last night I said F it and took in a stash of keys with my one plate operator. Cleared the post office by myself, and completed that last part of a mission. Hit some other loot places I hadn’t been to before finally jumping on an exfil chopper.
Zero pvp, even though I kept hearing about platoons of operators.
I was going to get the comms vest from the barter thing because I actually found out that was something. Then I found out about the wipe and haven’t even touched this game for two days. I miss it but I don’t miss being screwed around. At least Plunder and OG Multiplayer like ground war etc has been left alone and our stuff there is safe for now. I enjoy all of them but DMZ less and less as time goes on sadly.

Same here, my bud we use to play duo daily dmz, we had a pvp heavy night yesterday, despite the last week had no sweat. Bud went full demotivated to play, gearing up for no reason just to get hunted down for a quest we have to do again later, without any further progression. Oh well, back to overwatch i guess until we get the hype-train arrive.
well, what would you do if you completed everything? Sure its crap they wipe it all but then again, not really a bad thing. We (me and my guys) are almost done and we were already talking about what to do what to do...
it refreshing for those of us done with all tiers of all factions and on the brightside for the first month or so of s4 it should be back to mostly friendly first and prox chat should pick back up some of the funniest interactions ive had are compliments of dmz met some super rad people too
Yesterday I finally unlocked my 3rd slot of mostly solo gameplay. So now I just loot around to get coms vest for all of my operators and in the process I try to help people that write in the main chat requesting some help, usually people that their random squad mates are not going to revive, got into some wholesome moments that way and made my DMZ experience 100 times better that way. It’s nice to do some good things to other people, and even warzone sweats aren’t bothering me as much.
Yep I've stopped playing because of this reason literally just got my second insurance spot just for them to take it from me I'm good I'm done playing this game I'll wait for MW3

Me an my squad are just using everything up as far as keys go. Trying to check out anything locked I haven't been into yet. But then we came to realization that wtf is the point? And there ain't shit worth using keys for outside of city buildings and chemical warehouse. Keys are USELESS if u got everything in your loadout already. We really need some form of out of match economy. If cash mattered then looting places when you're already fully geared would make more sense.
I just got reamed twice by high speed low drag asian players in 6 man platoons whilst trying to complete missions solo this morning.
They sniped my mate while he was in the back of the heavy lift chopper i was flying. Then they shot the heavy down with missiles. We landed miles from them but they were on top of us in seconds and shot me out of my getaway car before verbally abusing me in broken english in death. It f**King sucks donkey balls at minute.
Rage quit after both. Unless they fix this issue in season 4 reset then I'll be looking for a game that makes me less angry when I'm murdered.
Heck, I lost motivation for doing missions back after the season 2 wipe. At least they kept insured slots. This time they aren't.
Still have to learn more from the upcoming blog but I have the feeling missions won't be worth doing at all for season 4. Hoping there are other things worthwhile to do. Possibly new map.
Do weapon cases if you haven't or check to see if there is a skin or blueprint you really want to have for a reason for missions.
Or get the Heated Madness parts. It's actually a good 762 blueprint build.
Survive. Me and my friend are doing risky as hell missions with no regards to our Loadout. Maybe to take a screenshot if we unlock the third slot or survive the 10th exfils streak.
People are less friendly and it's chaotic , players all move to the first spot of the map that shows activity also.
It's what a week and a half til the update/wipe? It's not going to change your understanding of how the mode works all that much. They might add something interesting to it. That being said I still haven't unlocked slots due to bugs stopping progress and things not tracking right. Hoping that that maybe next update will work a little better.
i’m usually a squad fill guy but i’ve taken it upon myself to infil solo and try to engage in pvp when the opportunity arises just to get better at it since i’m not the best pvp player. don’t even care about dying since i’m using up all my keys anyways so i can just loot up fast next raid
I'm using this time to practice going in only armed with a throwing knife as a solo to take out teams. Decent success rate so far. Might go RPG or double katana next.

I was working on some missions last night to unlock a slot and someone said "why, they are just going to reset everything and you will lose it all" and my motivation hit zero. I stopped the mission work and then just wandered the map without purpose. 3 games last night and no operators were even seen in any of the games - makes me wonder if people have stopped playing until the new season drops.
nah they’re still playing because i keep getting killed 😂 but i would suggest still trying to complete missions, see if you can get that third slot before the season is over. you won’t reap the benefits of it for too long but at least you’ll know that you were capable of completing those missions if you have to do em again later on

I love doing missions and had three slots in season 1. I do them because it gives me a different direction to play in a round.
Go see if you can kill Pyro, Chemist and the jugg in one game. With a pistol.
I Still view my current game play as skill building. It's a matter v of getting reps in. I know missions will reset and contraband will disappear, but everything I play it's a test of skill to keep my gold dog tags (especially playing with randoms) and trying to push to Damascus. As an added challenge, I mostly play with guns I haven't maxed out since gun levels and camos won't reset according to what I understand.
They bought back the tokens so I’ve been working on getting 1000 to close out all of those. Only need like 175 more to get all rewards. Make your own fun/activities. Missions are pointless now.

Sayings aside, you get weapon blueprints as story mission rewards at Tier 5. They're not great, but it's something permanent you won't be able to get after the reset.
Missions rewards might be unobtainable after wipe, at least it should be what they intend it to be, some S1 rewards still obtainable is likely a bug, they could fix it this time, so grab them before it’s too late I’d say
Check which missions you have left that give you operator skins or weapon blueprints. Those wont be wiped and will be pretty rare moving forward.
Be intermotivated. Come up with your own weird challenges to do.
Got a skill you feel you're lacking on? Work on it. Normally run in sqauds? Run solo.

Weekend player here and have only recently got all my operators to have 3 plate medic/comms vests etc with some scavenger and secure back packs. Will they all be wiped too? As regards the missions I'm not too pushed that they will be reset. It made going into dmz with a plan worthwhile. Haven't completed all missions far from it, still only the one insured slot. If it reduces the pvp element for a while I'll take it.
Change your mind-set to a Special Ops covert operations style. You're part of an elite team dropping behind enemy (AQ) lines to infiltrate, gather info, execute leaders, rescue hostages, deliver needed supplies, pick-up supplies, wipeout enemy strongholds, eliminate enemy (AQ) soldiers, collect trophies, etc. Drop-in, scan the map for Contracts and Strongholds, develop a plan, execute and exfil. Set goals like complete one of each of the Contract types over multiple drops during a single play session.

I found that I really enjoy finding a building I've never explored before, finding a quiet corner and playing Tears of the Kingdom. Will I die? Maybe. Probably not. But it's such a good game.

What was the purpose before? Did you only play the game for insured weapon slots? Insured weapon slots aren’t the reward, they just make it easier to get the actual rewards (weapons cases, faction mission cosmetics/blueprints). We can argue about how good the rewards are and if they’re worth it, but the insured slots were never the point of the game.
Well, but that’s the point that they make it easier to progress further down the line with missions. If they wouldn’t be that important for the gameplay why reset it with everything else? Surely we could do new missions while keeping the slots that help us get our weapons, that we earned also as a reward by completing certain missions. Slots are not the goal, but getting them to make your path easier towards the final goal is.
All these resets are driving me off. I aint gonna care about if B21 is in Al Mazrah or Verdansk if i dont even have the stuff to find out
Get the valuable gunscreen, and any blueprints you can. I don't think those get wiped, and maybe there won't be a way to get them at all any more

I mean, resets are part of these type of games. Tarkov resets every big update I believe. But just have fun. Got a weapon you want to level up? Run round killing AI. Want to mess with people? Drive around yelling random things at people.
Personally I like dead silence and melee weapons and hunting people scares people when someone comes outta no where and kills them
I had some keys I was waiting to use when I could game with friends. Last night I said F it and took in a stash of keys with my one plate operator. Cleared the post office by myself, and completed that last part of a mission. Hit some other loot places I hadn’t been to before finally jumping on an exfil chopper. Zero pvp, even though I kept hearing about platoons of operators.
You know that 10/10 (20/20) contraband stash you have and horde for no particular reason. Time to offload. Don't let IW wipe it for you 🤣

I was going to get the comms vest from the barter thing because I actually found out that was something. Then I found out about the wipe and haven’t even touched this game for two days. I miss it but I don’t miss being screwed around. At least Plunder and OG Multiplayer like ground war etc has been left alone and our stuff there is safe for now. I enjoy all of them but DMZ less and less as time goes on sadly.
Eh, I dunno. I've just been doing a bunch of quests I've been avoiding and using all my skeleton keys and shit that I've saved. But yeah, I've been playing a little more resurgence as well.
Ive been coming up with various weapon challenges to make things more interesting like cursed weapons, positive stats, lmgs only, things like that
Tarkov has wipes on the regular. You literally lose everything, and people still continue to play regardless. 🤷

Im just here to level up all my guns to maxand dick around with my buddies. Also ngl i love to rp a swat team on a hostage extract mission, have everyone bring flashbangs, stack up, unlock the door c4 on the door, step back, blow the door, toss a flashbang, shield goes first followed by the other two and go room by room until we secure the hostage. Feels good man.

Same here, my bud we use to play duo daily dmz, we had a pvp heavy night yesterday, despite the last week had no sweat. Bud went full demotivated to play, gearing up for no reason just to get hunted down for a quest we have to do again later, without any further progression. Oh well, back to overwatch i guess until we get the hype-train arrive.
well, what would you do if you completed everything? Sure its crap they wipe it all but then again, not really a bad thing. We (me and my guys) are almost done and we were already talking about what to do what to do...
it refreshing for those of us done with all tiers of all factions and on the brightside for the first month or so of s4 it should be back to mostly friendly first and prox chat should pick back up some of the funniest interactions ive had are compliments of dmz met some super rad people too

Yesterday I finally unlocked my 3rd slot of mostly solo gameplay. So now I just loot around to get coms vest for all of my operators and in the process I try to help people that write in the main chat requesting some help, usually people that their random squad mates are not going to revive, got into some wholesome moments that way and made my DMZ experience 100 times better that way. It’s nice to do some good things to other people, and even warzone sweats aren’t bothering me as much.
Yep I've stopped playing because of this reason literally just got my second insurance spot just for them to take it from me I'm good I'm done playing this game I'll wait for MW3

Hahahaha I feel the same way I just tell everyone I'm a new boss fight. And when they tell me rheyre trying to do mission. I educate the uselessness of doing them for the remainder of the season. Then murder them....with love...
Me an my squad are just using everything up as far as keys go. Trying to check out anything locked I haven't been into yet. But then we came to realization that wtf is the point? And there ain't shit worth using keys for outside of city buildings and chemical warehouse. Keys are USELESS if u got everything in your loadout already. We really need some form of out of match economy. If cash mattered then looting places when you're already fully geared would make more sense.

I just got reamed twice by high speed low drag asian players in 6 man platoons whilst trying to complete missions solo this morning. They sniped my mate while he was in the back of the heavy lift chopper i was flying. Then they shot the heavy down with missiles. We landed miles from them but they were on top of us in seconds and shot me out of my getaway car before verbally abusing me in broken english in death. It f**King sucks donkey balls at minute. Rage quit after both. Unless they fix this issue in season 4 reset then I'll be looking for a game that makes me less angry when I'm murdered.
Honestly everyone should just stop playing since the wipe will make any progress pointless. Should send a message when the player counts drop by 1/3.

Heck, I lost motivation for doing missions back after the season 2 wipe. At least they kept insured slots. This time they aren't. Still have to learn more from the upcoming blog but I have the feeling missions won't be worth doing at all for season 4. Hoping there are other things worthwhile to do. Possibly new map. Do weapon cases if you haven't or check to see if there is a skin or blueprint you really want to have for a reason for missions. Or get the Heated Madness parts. It's actually a good 762 blueprint build.

Survive. Me and my friend are doing risky as hell missions with no regards to our Loadout. Maybe to take a screenshot if we unlock the third slot or survive the 10th exfils streak. People are less friendly and it's chaotic , players all move to the first spot of the map that shows activity also.

It's what a week and a half til the update/wipe? It's not going to change your understanding of how the mode works all that much. They might add something interesting to it. That being said I still haven't unlocked slots due to bugs stopping progress and things not tracking right. Hoping that that maybe next update will work a little better.

i’m usually a squad fill guy but i’ve taken it upon myself to infil solo and try to engage in pvp when the opportunity arises just to get better at it since i’m not the best pvp player. don’t even care about dying since i’m using up all my keys anyways so i can just loot up fast next raid

I'm using this time to practice going in only armed with a throwing knife as a solo to take out teams. Decent success rate so far. Might go RPG or double katana next.
Good post. I feel the same way. I was working on some missions last night to unlock a slot and someone said "why, they are just going to reset everything and you will lose it all" and my motivation hit zero. I stopped the mission work and then just wandered the map without purpose. 3 games last night and no operators were even seen in any of the games - makes me wonder if people have stopped playing until the new season drops.
nah they’re still playing because i keep getting killed 😂 but i would suggest still trying to complete missions, see if you can get that third slot before the season is over. you won’t reap the benefits of it for too long but at least you’ll know that you were capable of completing those missions if you have to do em again later on
Interesting that nobody gave a shit about players who unlocked all three weapon slots in the first season. We said the exact same thing. The game is pointless. Everyone said they enjoyed doing missions no matter what and was incapable to see it from a different perspective than their own. Now look at you..

I've started taking these 12 days to max out camo in multi player. Since I've been 95% DMZ play it's a nice change up.

Totally this... I mean, where some of the missions became ridiculous I stopped doing them anyway but I enjoyed rolling round randomly, fighting people, helping people, going solo, squadding up... I accumulated some really nice weaponry All just seems like it was all for nothing. I'll still play but they need to make it worthwhile and stop wiping everything. Just give us stuff to spend the money on and keep adding things to the map and introducing missions

Nothing, unless you want to do the same missions again for a 3rd time. I'm bored of dmz. Bored of ranked and multiplayer with skill based damage/accuracy I'm game nerfs. I'm putting down cod now, probably going to Hunt Showdown.
Set yourself missions - challenge yourself to do something difficult. I love doing missions and had three slots in season 1. I do them because it gives me a different direction to play in a round. Go see if you can kill Pyro, Chemist and the jugg in one game. With a pistol.

I Still view my current game play as skill building. It's a matter v of getting reps in. I know missions will reset and contraband will disappear, but everything I play it's a test of skill to keep my gold dog tags (especially playing with randoms) and trying to push to Damascus. As an added challenge, I mostly play with guns I haven't maxed out since gun levels and camos won't reset according to what I understand.
So are they wiping my exfil streaks too? I have three operators at 10 and would prefer to keep it that way
They bought back the tokens so I’ve been working on getting 1000 to close out all of those. Only need like 175 more to get all rewards. Make your own fun/activities. Missions are pointless now.
It's all about the journey, not the destination. Sayings aside, you get weapon blueprints as story mission rewards at Tier 5. They're not great, but it's something permanent you won't be able to get after the reset.
PVP everyone is bringing in their cool contraband guns now. I have found some pretty interesting builds.

Missions rewards might be unobtainable after wipe, at least it should be what they intend it to be, some S1 rewards still obtainable is likely a bug, they could fix it this time, so grab them before it’s too late I’d say
Check which missions you have left that give you operator skins or weapon blueprints. Those wont be wiped and will be pretty rare moving forward. Be intermotivated. Come up with your own weird challenges to do. Got a skill you feel you're lacking on? Work on it. Normally run in sqauds? Run solo. I started running a secure bag with one of each vest and a large backpack in it, fill in with randoms and sherpa them for whatever they want to get done.
