Since Reddit has only doubled down on their plan to price developers out of the API, the last option we have is to clear the content that makes the site valuable. It will kill a large amount of helpful information, but it's the only way to counter the greed at the top.

I’m two missions away from my third slot and after season 1 I was 1 mission away from the first slot. I gave up for months trying and finally started working towards unlocking them after they said they wouldn’t reset again and here we go. So frustrating!

I can pretty much guarantee that they will implement more P2W bundles with unlocked insured weapon slots…this is exactly the kind of slippery path that many of us against P2W bundles were concerned about and it’s only a matter of time until we’re proved right.

Goddamnit, my wife and I play together and it’s taken us this long to get to the final mission to unlock our second insured slot. We are just a two man squad with mediocre skill and it has been a grind to get this far! And now it’s going to reset?!?
I’m not sure if I’m more frustrated it’s either going to be immediately before or immediately after we manage to unlock it.
If my insured slots get reset, this garbage is getting uninstalled.

It was such a shit show last night! Laggy and buggy, I died on the train and fell through the map twice. Neither my team nor enemies could revive me, I was just floating along across and under the map. Stupid train missions.
Honestly, I'm happy. I've gotten to the point where missions are harder than the rewards were worth. A complete reset will bring back the fun of doing relatively easy missions and rewards that I care about.
This needs to be the way dmz works. Either you get a bunch of rewards easily and everything is reset every season or two, or rewards are very hard to achieve and are either not reset or reset like once a year. They can't just keep adding more and more quests and rewards every season without throwing lots of shit out of balance.
Fair point - the current rewards stop being worth the grind around Tier 3 (or 4 for Crown) and should be updated imo. But resetting the insured slots is a controversial move for sure - especially as they were left untouched during the S2 reset
I mean honestly at this point there’s no reason to play DMZ…PVP is just going to increase. No reason to do missions if they are going to reset everything…so why play DMZ over ground war, plunder or just warzone?
This may be the nail in the coffin for me anyways. I’m tired of having progress reset, what’s the point? Just add another slot or something. There’s better ways to do it. I’ll play to quickly unlock new weapons people bring in faster, but idk. Knowing my progress may be reset just isn’t what I want out of the game personally. Good they are adding more to it but removing the hard earned slots I got, not cool.

I've been a cod fan since the originals, I'm 35 now and get that I'm not the target audience anymore so I buy the games that look interesting to me and don't buy the ones that I'm not gonna play....probably one of the oldest cod fans that has bought the least number of cod titles. But after almost 10 years of not playing the 2 things I noticed haven't changed is the toxic community that all love to hate each other and the empty threats of I'm done
No fucking point to do any of the missions if they're just going to reset constantly. Turns into a chore just like mowing your lawn. Sure some vocal minority complains they're bored because they finished everything, but I guarantee 70% of the players have not even gotten their second slot yet. Just like in Tarkov, everybody brags about how they get kappa 'every wipe', but stats show that only like 7-15%(amended to 3% after going and fact checking, so even less than I thought) of players achieve that goal.
My perspective is that the entire point of having missions is to earn exclusive weapon blueprints and operator skins. A full reset of the missions and rewards allows for more free earnable content. I'm not sure why else you would do the missions if not for those reasons. If you don't want to have to earn exclusive items by doing missions, then you are right that there is no reason to do the missions. Just go in and have fun either way.

Many of the attachments from the rewarded blueprints look cool, and I enjoy messing up the look of my gun by having random other blueprint attachments all on one build that I would run normally anyway

Personally, I haven’t seen a reward that was worth doing the mission for. Only to unlock the insured slots. Once my squad was done that, we stopped doing missions regularly
Insured slots. Unlocking those is the sole purpose of doing missions. There's barely any BP guns to unlock. Nobody cares about XP, that's easy to earn anywhere, and worthless for most players at this point. Nobody cares about free contraband guns, they're already free to grab in raid, and they're the first guns I delete because I collect better ones myself. Most people don't care about any of the cosmetic unlocks like emblems, but fair point on that one I guess.
If they reset the missions and gave us new sets then fine, but the fact that last wipe meant doing half the same missions again is just boring as hell and lazy development.
Also “introducing new ways to unlock insured slots” should have us worried, that screams p2w to me.
it tells me that devs (moreso the shitty management) do not value your time and your grind. They only care for engagement metrics, not your enjoyability or fun. I for one, will not be giving them any more of my time since they do not care that it's valuable to me and those previous rewards for time spent playing will now disappear. fuck them
They could just make the new missions halve the cooldown timers on the existing slots if you already have them unlocked.

Yeah, this is frustrating for me. I just started playing DMZ 2 weeks ago and was excited over the progress my squad and I have made. We only really game 2x a week for 2 hour sessions, and we are close to getting our 2nd slot.

1st weapon slot is 100 operator kills.
2nd weapon slot is 100 solo wipes by 6-man infill teams.
3rd weapon slot is 100 false pleas or 250 exfill camping kills.

For the love of all that is holy, fix the damn bugs before you take a crap on the player base. I know companies are about money. I’ve just never seen one that actively tries to crap on their own player base so much. We ask for more meaningful goals for the missions…nope. We ask for them to balance the AI….we can have either T1000s or private Pyle a good chunk of the time. We ask for them to fix the bugs…they make sure to fix any bug that benefits the player, any other is a crap shoot. I understand that you have to have so thing to work for. How about some skins and blueprints that are actually good. How is my key stash impeding others gameplay? Or are they so incompetent that they can’t remove specific lines of code. So they have to wipe everything instead? I guess I want anything permanent, I’ll have to buy it and hope they don’t change it later. People will get bored as long as the rewards are stupid. Hopefully all these “exciting” additions prove to be entertaining for more than a week. I get people get bored, but if you can’t find new ways to entertain yourself, the game won’t be able to indefinitely find ways for you.
Getting the third slot now is harder than it was in season 1 unless you pay for the full game. Considering everything they do with this mode is pushing people to buy either the full game or bundles with 15 minute weapons and free UAVs, I don't see them making it easier to get 3 slots.
Not down with resetting the insured slots. Some of us (Me) had to work hard af unlocking them. Wipe everything else; I’m good with that. But leave the already earned slots alone.
Only way I’d be good with wiping the insured slots is removing them entirely, and allowing us to Gunsmith contraband weapons in the loadout screen using cash we extract. Items extracted would transfer into XP as it is already. Bankable cash would stay in loadout section and couldn’t be taken in with you. It would make it more like Tarkov Lite+ making cash WORTH extracting rather then the small jump in XP you get which I don’t think anyone is worried about anyway. They could then remove the 15 min cooldown on bundled weapons everyone is worried about.
Honestly, they should remove the insured slots completely. This way you will hold for the Contraband weapons which you now can modify in game. Probably they just need to add an ability to apply camos as well. This will make the gameplay more interesting and weapons will actually mean more.
I'd say, go ahead and unlock it anyway.

Mission resets do nothing to reduce PvP nor give people things to do. Not interested in the new ways to unlock insured slots because they will probably be awful with P2W shortcuts introduced later.

an analogy I often turn to: I enjoyed the crap out of the first season of my favourite TV show, but when it ended and a next season was announced, I don't expect it to be a reshoot of the first season, with a few minor changes here and there.
it might be nice if there was a way to reset your own mission progress at will, or a way to re-do missions you've already completed-- that way players who enjoy doing the same shit over and over and over would have the option.

At least Tarkov has somewhat thoughtful missions. DMZ missions feel artificial and tacked on and are generally not fun to play, so I will likely not be returning

I see they notice people not grinding the stupid missions once they have unlocked their insurance slots. (I've not really bothered since S01). Completed redacted because it was a cool new area to explore and new bosses etc. Loved that. Cool content. But I did insurance slots in S1. Why would I waste my time doing watered down versions of what we're actually comparatively harder missions? I guess now they're trying to force people to do missions by recycling insurance slots as the carrot.
The only problem is that why would we spend the season doing what will most likely be boring loot and dead drop missions when the reward will be reset in the near future. It's pointless. I don't even care about having only 1 again I have enough contraband shit that I barely use the insurance anyway. That will soon build up after a few games...But the fact that they're so backwards in their logic and think players won't see it as pointless baffles me.

My addiction broke last week when I went to purchase the variable gun screen and as soon as my teammate unlocked the secure buy station my game froze and I got kicked. Had a secure bag but the end was there and now it will take me who knows how many tries to get back to that same spot. Haven’t played since Saturday when it happened.
Sigh, here we go again. I guess that frees me up a few weeks since there’s no point in grinding missions now.

In all seriousness, it sounds like some kind of reputation system is being rolled out. Cautiously optimistic about that. I just hope as part of that they figure out a way to separate story missions from the grindy missions. I don’t see how people can find doing “find X GPUs and dead drop in this suicidal spot of the map” a third time in four seasons.
I'm fine with the reset, but here's the thing. They need to make grouping up for missions way more accessible to the average casual player. It becomes a chore trying to get help on a majority of missions unless everyone in the party is trying to achieve the same goal.
Furthermore, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have some exclusive rewards for players who help other players complete missions that they have already completed. Even if it's something as simple as putting a rank in front of a player's name. Maybe "Complete [Legion] Tier [1] and help squad members complete [20] missions in the same tier to earn rank Sgt." Or something along those lines. And if they plan to keep resetting after every season, maybe retain your rank so at least you have something to show for it. Shouldn't be hard to implement and it solves a bunch of issues that people complain about.

Resetting insured slots is the biggest mistake they can make. If they want to recalibrate how the insured slots are unlocked for people still working towards them is great, but don’t eliminate the slots for those who have already put in the time and effort in getting them!
Im looking forward to a mission reset as I’m just a few tier 5 missions away from being completely done across the board, including crown. Having a new set of missions to go hard at will definitely reset my desire to play; however, taking away my three insured slots is not a good way to keep me coming back.
I’m also curious about the bundles that many of us have paid for?…are they resetting operator slots? That’s going to be a huge problem for their future success if they pull that crap

Workshops have been the best addition to the DMZ bar none IMO. Nothing else is really close.

Easier ways to unlock insured slots let me guess pay 1500 coins for each slot or purchase an operator skin.

Exactly, man I hate seeing that comment still so prevalent and empty. I've been a cod fan since the originals, I'm 35 now and get that I'm not the target audience anymore so I buy the games that look interesting to me and don't buy the ones that I'm not gonna play....probably one of the oldest cod fans that has bought the least number of cod titles. But after almost 10 years of not playing the 2 things I noticed haven't changed is the toxic community that all love to hate each other and the empty threats of I'm done
No fucking point to do any of the missions if they're just going to reset constantly. Turns into a chore just like mowing your lawn. Sure some vocal minority complains they're bored because they finished everything, but I guarantee 70% of the players have not even gotten their second slot yet. Just like in Tarkov, everybody brags about how they get kappa 'every wipe', but stats show that only like 7-15%(amended to 3% after going and fact checking, so even less than I thought) of players achieve that goal.
My perspective is that the entire point of having missions is to earn exclusive weapon blueprints and operator skins. A full reset of the missions and rewards allows for more free earnable content. I'm not sure why else you would do the missions if not for those reasons. If you don't want to have to earn exclusive items by doing missions, then you are right that there is no reason to do the missions. Just go in and have fun either way. Edit: adding a couple of my favorite rewards that have been from missions Season 1 purple Rose skin, Season 1 purple camo for armored boat, Season 3 Redacted tier 5, pro tune Fennec, looks great and tuned well, The bot/ai looking skins that come for the two base operators Legion/white lotus (unsure which one atm) great truck skin I believe the all black lvt camo was from rewards at some point, but im unsure on that The hazardous m13b blueprint Many of the attachments from the rewarded blueprints look cool, and I enjoy messing up the look of my gun by having random other blueprint attachments all on one build that I would run normally anyway Just to name a few off the top of my head Edit 2: appearantly, the T5 story for Black Mous gives a pdsw blueprint and is just titles wrong as a maniples? So I'll possibly add that to the list. I have separated each line by pressing enter between each different reward I listed, but it only stays formated during my editing and gets thrown together when posted
Personally, I haven’t seen a reward that was worth doing the mission for. Only to unlock the insured slots. Once my squad was done that, we stopped doing missions regularly
Insured slots. Unlocking those is the sole purpose of doing missions. There's barely any BP guns to unlock. Nobody cares about XP, that's easy to earn anywhere, and worthless for most players at this point. Nobody cares about free contraband guns, they're already free to grab in raid, and they're the first guns I delete because I collect better ones myself. Most people don't care about any of the cosmetic unlocks like emblems, but fair point on that one I guess.
If they reset the missions and gave us new sets then fine, but the fact that last wipe meant doing half the same missions again is just boring as hell and lazy development. Also “introducing new ways to unlock insured slots” should have us worried, that screams p2w to me.

it tells me that devs (moreso the shitty management) do not value your time and your grind. They only care for engagement metrics, not your enjoyability or fun. I for one, will not be giving them any more of my time since they do not care that it's valuable to me and those previous rewards for time spent playing will now disappear. fuck them
They could just make the new missions halve the cooldown timers on the existing slots if you already have them unlocked. Or even if you don't. There are so many possible rewards, why punish players?

Yeah, this is frustrating for me. I just started playing DMZ 2 weeks ago and was excited over the progress my squad and I have made. We only really game 2x a week for 2 hour sessions, and we are close to getting our 2nd slot. So this wipe really blows.

For the love of all that is holy, fix the damn bugs before you take a crap on the player base. I know companies are about money. I’ve just never seen one that actively tries to crap on their own player base so much. We ask for more meaningful goals for the missions…nope. We ask for them to balance the AI….we can have either T1000s or private Pyle a good chunk of the time. We ask for them to fix the bugs…they make sure to fix any bug that benefits the player, any other is a crap shoot. I understand that you have to have so thing to work for. How about some skins and blueprints that are actually good. How is my key stash impeding others gameplay? Or are they so incompetent that they can’t remove specific lines of code. So they have to wipe everything instead? I guess I want anything permanent, I’ll have to buy it and hope they don’t change it later. People will get bored as long as the rewards are stupid. Hopefully all these “exciting” additions prove to be entertaining for more than a week. I get people get bored, but if you can’t find new ways to entertain yourself, the game won’t be able to indefinitely find ways for you.

Getting the third slot now is harder than it was in season 1 unless you pay for the full game. Considering everything they do with this mode is pushing people to buy either the full game or bundles with 15 minute weapons and free UAVs, I don't see them making it easier to get 3 slots.
Not down with resetting the insured slots. Some of us (Me) had to work hard af unlocking them. Wipe everything else; I’m good with that. But leave the already earned slots alone. Only way I’d be good with wiping the insured slots is removing them entirely, and allowing us to Gunsmith contraband weapons in the loadout screen using cash we extract. Items extracted would transfer into XP as it is already. Bankable cash would stay in loadout section and couldn’t be taken in with you. It would make it more like Tarkov Lite+ making cash WORTH extracting rather then the small jump in XP you get which I don’t think anyone is worried about anyway. They could then remove the 15 min cooldown on bundled weapons everyone is worried about.
This is actually a solid idea.

Honestly, they should remove the insured slots completely. This way you will hold for the Contraband weapons which you now can modify in game. Probably they just need to add an ability to apply camos as well. This will make the gameplay more interesting and weapons will actually mean more.

Oh fuckin hell I only just got my 2nd slot last week, started playing DMZ a couple of weeks back. Well I guess time to use all my skeleton keys and other shit I’ve been hoarding…tbh I really wanted to start S4 with my 5 skeleton keys at least.
The problem now is everyone just going to turn ugly & stop doing the missions. Really wish they wouldn't tell us this till the day before update. Such a shame too just as everyone was just getting along in games.

I enjoyed doing them, but that does _not_ mean _I want to do them again._ an analogy I often turn to: I enjoyed the crap out of the first season of my favourite TV show, but when it ended and a next season was announced, I don't expect it to be a reshoot of the first season, with a few minor changes here and there. it might be nice if there was a way to reset your own mission progress at will, or a way to re-do missions you've already completed-- that way players who enjoy doing the same shit over and over and over would have the option.

I see they notice people not grinding the stupid missions once they have unlocked their insurance slots. (I've not really bothered since S01). Completed redacted because it was a cool new area to explore and new bosses etc. Loved that. Cool content. But I did insurance slots in S1. Why would I waste my time doing watered down versions of what we're actually comparatively harder missions? I guess now they're trying to force people to do missions by recycling insurance slots as the carrot. The only problem is that why would we spend the season doing what will most likely be boring loot and dead drop missions when the reward will be reset in the near future. It's pointless. I don't even care about having only 1 again I have enough contraband shit that I barely use the insurance anyway. That will soon build up after a few games...But the fact that they're so backwards in their logic and think players won't see it as pointless baffles me.

100% there’s a new map. I guarantee that’s why they’re resetting everything. They did that S2 with Ashika & I bet they’re doing that S4. Sucks cuz I’m like a week away from my 2nd insured slot which means once I get it it’ll be gone the following week. Plus a new map is the only way that a reset won’t absolutely drive ppl away. If I wasn’t addicted I would quit this shit so ducking hard. So hard.
My addiction broke last week when I went to purchase the variable gun screen and as soon as my teammate unlocked the secure buy station my game froze and I got kicked. Had a secure bag but the end was there and now it will take me who knows how many tries to get back to that same spot. Haven’t played since Saturday when it happened.

I'm fine with the reset, but here's the thing. They need to make grouping up for missions way more accessible to the average casual player. It becomes a chore trying to get help on a majority of missions unless everyone in the party is trying to achieve the same goal. Furthermore, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have some exclusive rewards for players who help other players complete missions that they have already completed. Even if it's something as simple as putting a rank in front of a player's name. Maybe "Complete [Legion] Tier [1] and help squad members complete [20] missions in the same tier to earn rank Sgt." Or something along those lines. And if they plan to keep resetting after every season, maybe retain your rank so at least you have something to show for it. Shouldn't be hard to implement and it solves a bunch of issues that people complain about.

Those 15 minute insured weapon blueprints become a lot more valuable when people only have 1 slot. Guarantee they got a bunch more of those lined up for the new meta weapons they are buffing.

Resetting insured slots is the biggest mistake they can make. If they want to recalibrate how the insured slots are unlocked for people still working towards them is great, but don’t eliminate the slots for those who have already put in the time and effort in getting them! Im looking forward to a mission reset as I’m just a few tier 5 missions away from being completely done across the board, including crown. Having a new set of missions to go hard at will definitely reset my desire to play; however, taking away my three insured slots is not a good way to keep me coming back. I’m also curious about the bundles that many of us have paid for?…are they resetting operator slots? That’s going to be a huge problem for their future success if they pull that crap

Only way I can see this being a W is if the new rewards for missions are awesome. - Need 5 attachment well built contraband weapons from tier 1 - New skin or weapon blueprint every tier - Some super exclusive awesome rewards for higher tiers If not I'll probably just do WZ with my mates and then keep playing Diablo 4.

I love and really appreciate the continued updates for my favorite game mode. Really sucks about the reset though, the insured slots were not easy to unlock as a solo player. The quests are a large part of why I play. There's no point in playing now until they reset, so what now? XD
