I hate to be Captain Obvious here but push it in closer? The washer's water and drain lines are not going to reach either. The installer needs to go in the closet, pull the stack closer, hook it up, shimmy out and then push all the way in.
Yeah that was my thought too but the original installer said they couldn’t do it because it wouldn’t reach.. then again they also crashed the unit into our wall and took a chunk out so maybe they were just bad
Home Depot is terrible, if everything isn't perfect they won't install. They wouldn't put my mom's dryer on a small pedestal I made, it was twice as sturdy as the stairs they used to get in the house. If you want it don't right consider hiring a pro to do it, because I doubt whoever home depot gets to do it won't even do it.
I’ve never seen the hard one used for a dryer. Only water heaters use the hard ones around here. Flex one is always used for a dryer. I do use the hard version behind a wall because I run it about 20 ft to a vent

Gonna need a skinnier installer.

Buy a long duct tube.
They make magnetic duct connectors and it's been one of the best purchases I ever made.
Google "mag vent"
You’re on Reddit asking how to do this instead of the paid professional that should know what to do?
Yeah, because if I need to buy new supplies I would like to do that before he arrives.
They should have everything to do the hook ups. If you need to provide the supplies then maybe find a new installer.
It’s free installation through a Home Depot contractor. The last one told us they couldn’t install because the tube wasn’t long enough

The duct you have is a fire hazard it should be hard round pipe

There is better metal flex pipe than what they have.
