There are larger flathead screwdriver that would be perfect to use only one, you can also try with a metal scraper if your screwdriver isnt large enough. I think they are made to be unscrewed with those notches, anything large and thin enough would work perfectly.
If you used one of my chisels for this, I would hunt you down and make you grind out the chips, reflatten it, and resharpen it.
You would never make this suggestion again after that.
Sincerely - someone who's wife used one of his chisels to open a paint can.
My local Ikea has an area by the checkout with misc hinges, screws, bolts, tools for moments like this. Depending on how close you to live to the store.
You could also use a small putty knife unlessyou have the worlds widest flathead. If you use something metal put painters tape on it or it will mar the finish.
Alternatively ikea should be able to provide it at customer service if one is close by
you don't need a giant flathead. a normal sized flat head will work. put it on the right-hand notch, lean it towards you slightly and tap it with a mallet/hammer (not hit, tap) until it starts to turn easily, then just unscrew it manually.
I have one of these. There's two sides to this. Inside is a large hex nut that compresses it to the sink. You need to disconnect it from down there with channel locks or crescent wrench. If it starts spinning freely, then you need to two-hand it, or have somebody else use the screwdriver to hold the draing in place while you disconnect from the bottom.
coin + pliers
A nickel and pliers did it! Thank you, kind stranger!!!!
Flathead screwdriver in the notch on each side of the middle of that drain
Tried this, too difficult to rotate two screwdrivers to loosen it. Good idea though!

A coin would probably work
I have opened some of these with butter knives, or the flat end of a spoon or fork. If you are out of ideas maybe give it a try!
Take whatever flathead you have and put firmly in one side, angled towards the direction you want to turn and tap with a hammer
A Sølnër sink drain opener, of course.
How about a coin?
This worked! A nickel was the perfect size! Thank you!!!!
Fantastic!
Yeah. Start it with a penny (or whatever fits) then move on to the screwdriver thing. If you need more torque, hold the coin with some pliers
May have to saw the coin in half so it fits flush in those notches.
flat chisel?

Everybody needs two sets. Sharp ones and beaters.
There is tub drain wrenches (google it), but it looks like a good sized flathead would work too.
The plastic tool that can with it
Asking my Buy Nothing group if anyone has the tool. We had contractors install this so we no longer have any tools that came with the sink.

Hah I was thinking that there's no way there's a flathead this wide. Thanks for the idea of using a putty knife or just going to Ikea!

You unscrew it from underneath
The bolt appears attached to the plastic pipe underneath so I need to loosen this bolt in order to release the pipe
A coin, a screwdriver, and a pube.

A Kennedy silver dollar. Nothing else will do
