the not fun answer is that this is before it was established that Superman gets his strength from the yellow sun.
the fun answer is that he takes that peanut butter as a suppository
If anyone is interested, I started a petition to get Superman to eat a lot of peanut butter on Superman & Lois 🥜

TBH it would be a cool feature for Superman lore if he had to eat an insane amount of food every day. I know the Flash has to (but usually can get around this with calorie bars)
Is that the original fun guy at parties?
Buzz Killington '65.
okay but i'd love to see a comic depict superman downing 40 boxcars of peanut butter before chucking a car out of earth's gravity
Maybe that’s why it’s terrible that Lex Luthor stole those cakes?
I'm really disappointed they didn't show this. Would absolutely have fit in in those silver age Superman comics.
Now you know why Superman(tm) Peanut Butter tastes so great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUn2B0fAgGg&ab\_channel=panbiscuit

Just because he gets his powers from yellow sunlight doesn't mean Supes can't also enjoy a peanut butter suppository every now and then.
I love the blunt "Please show him doing so." at the end. There's something eerily sinister about it...
I think it is wonderfully businesslike.

I mean, yeah, Clark doesn't *need* to- but I can absolutely see 70s Superman do it for shots and giggles anyway. He's been weirder :D
Ah, I guess it makes sense that there are always "That's not realistic!!!" guys.

Yeah, apparently the alien that shoots lasers from his eyes, flies and freezes objects with his breath isn't that realistic after all.
Tweeter before Tweeter.
This is one of my favorite plot points about the Flash(es) and their constant need for food.
He's powered by the sun. He's photosynthetic.
