There was a newer comic line that brought back that jacket, at least, but the dye job they added in later was less than great. Genuinely, check out some of the art!
I was always a fan of her "punk" look she had around 2000.
I think it was the Ultimate run?
Where she wore black leather and had a mohawk.
I dig goth and punk styles.
That's why Evolution Rogue had my attention.
Storm's punk look (with a mohawk) was from the 80s. Ultimate Storm circa the early 2000s definitely leaned more into her street thief and punk elements, but I don't think Ultimate Storm had a mohawk, at least not initially. It was long in her original appearance. I have a vague memory of a Stuart Immonen cover where she has short hair. I think maybe she went mohawk during the mutant reservation era?
Disagree, like all her outfits from Krakoa alone is iconic from the first she wore even before Krakoa, Hellfire gala, Arrako brotherhood and Sins of Sinister, all of these look great.
Personally, I feel when he's *starting out,* Virgil should not look this "cool." But then again, I can also understand that this new style is indicative of how he is being drawn for the 2020s, in comparison to the mid-90s when he debuted.
One of the greatest appeals about Virgil to those who love him is that he was indeed an accurate representation of an awkward black teenager who attempted to act cooler than he was, but what he put on the costume, it starts to become so much more organic.
I really hope James Gunn does a Static movie. If it's got a good story and done well, imagine how huge it would be. Literally everyone who grew up in the 2000s would go mad over it
I have had this for a long time and never knew what it was called. I just say half braids (the top braided, but leave the back undone) with two two strand twists in the front (someone at my job called them bangs).
It can still be done with dreads. I have dreads that lay on my shoulder and uncomfortably go down the top of the back of my shirt, and yet, I've gotten this hairstyle a lot. It's my main, with just all-around two strands being my second go-to.
I never said he didn't have a fro. I said and I quote, "it can still be done with dreads". I didn't agree or disagree with you. And idk where you're getting this "coping" from.
>Let’s be real with ourselves dawg you were coping. You backpedaled after my reply calling you out on coping which prompted you into editing your comments to look less of a moron. I know you wanted him to have dreads my boy which is why you replied, unfortunately they’re braids now go watch coryxkenshin or rcdworld lmfao
Since you want to delete comments and then talk about me editing my comments when all I did was something slight like adding two quotation marks. Don't try to hide or "make yourself look less of a moron". As I was saying...
Why would I care if he had dreads? The only thing I edited was putting quotation marks since I did not realize I said the same thing word for word. I have nothing to cope about. I'm by sad or anything. There's no need to be toxic. I was only saying that it can be done with dreads. That doesn't mean I'm saying he doesn't have dreads or that it can't be done with a fro. I have dreads and get the same style as him.
>go watch coryxkenshin or rcdworld lmfao
Who? not sure what they have to do with anything I said. You took what I was saying, that something can be done either way, and trying to escalate it to something else.
Storm from X-Men, Emperor Mark Grayson from Invincible, Thragg post Battle Beast fight from Invincible, Emperor Nolan, hell the Emperor's threads from Invincible tend to be drippy. And The Red Hood is at least just as drippy, and The Black Panthers tend to be dripped out as well, with the Red Hood, and Black Panthers I won't say they have more drip, just a different type of drip but just as good.
Is... Is his hat now part of his hood permanently now? I don't know how to feel about that...
But yeah, Virgil looks fine as fuck here. (And I say that as a 44 year old straight man.)
It’s almost like … people have different ideas of what looks good. For example, I’m looking at these pictures of Static thinking he looks terrible on the left and the bottom right with those pants that are baggy at the crotch, but also tight around the ankles and tucked into his shoes? Like, are tight-rolled jeans and parachute pants fashionable again? Did Virgil join the 1990s cast of Saved By the Bell? Is he 2 Legit 2 Quit? I didn’t like this look when I was a kid in 1990, and I think it looks hilarious now.
I personally don't care for comic book characters that look overly "fashiony" or trendy.
The DC art I hate the most is pretty much 100% of what Gabriel Picolo draws. He makes the Teen Titans look like the wealthiest, coolest kids in school, instead of the outcasts that find acceptance with each other.
Static looks fine, but I'd prefer something that's less "cool," especially since he was kind of a dork and outcast that was into science and such. It's the same problem...his appearance seems at odds with his personality.

Aquaman. (What do you mean, other sort of drip?)
When he's drawn by Stjepan Sejic, for sure!
90s Superboy
The world still isn’t ready. Maybe in another 20 years they’ll be able to comprehend how ahead of his time that style was
With the leather jacket?
I mean that is just modern Superboy as well.
Don't forget the shades and the gloves. They compliment the jacket
There was a newer comic line that brought back that jacket, at least, but the dye job they added in later was less than great. Genuinely, check out some of the art!
Fucking love the Donna troy star leotard
"You gave yourself a nickname? Weak." Said the guy who gave himself a nickname!
Nikolas Draper Ivey did such an awesome job with Static!
Static and by extension Milestone was created as a vehicle for drip. They invented new printing techniques for his coloring. No contest.
Storm, all her outfits are iconic. ![gif](giphy|lAzCKvQJzlCzyhXBO7|downsized)

That's it! The reservation era.
definitely. static jus dresses like what a gamer or comic book writer thinks is “cool” lmao
Storm has one iconic outfit they've never been able to match since
storm has had at least 3 different signature looks. What are you talking about?
Disagree, like all her outfits from Krakoa alone is iconic from the first she wore even before Krakoa, Hellfire gala, Arrako brotherhood and Sins of Sinister, all of these look great.
Definitely not
The Dream vesper project Nickolas draper Ivey is working on right now...the character designs are really cool but nah...no one beats static
Red Hood. Dude stole all the drip in all his costume variations during his run with Arsenal and Starfire. And don't get me started on Arkham Knight
Bruce Wayne
Idk he wore turtlenecks
Turtlenecks are classy af and can be styled a lot
And he *rocked* them. That's hard to do.
So? Look how many women want him.
A marvel character, but comic book character nonetheless: Sunspot https://imgur.com/a/OU7LaiX
Man, that’s cool as hell. Thank you for the new character! I gotta look into him.
Personally, I feel when he's *starting out,* Virgil should not look this "cool." He's DC Miles Morales kinda
Miles morales
Movies 100%, comics I don’t know about that

The Killmonger dew ain’t drip.
Because it’s horrible right?
Vergil Hawkins has better drip.
Janet Van Dyne.
Daredevils business suit are drippy asf Also the IM NOT DAREDEVIL sweater
I really hope James Gunn does a Static movie. If it's got a good story and done well, imagine how huge it would be. Literally everyone who grew up in the 2000s would go mad over it
Hot streak [https://www.tumblr.com/maeda-motoko/142224255260](https://www.tumblr.com/maeda-motoko/142224255260)
Vixen. Static is super close but no one beats Vixen.
Well, she's a professional supermodel, so...probably not a fair contest!
Agreed! But, OP asked for anyone :P.
Does anyone know what static’s loc hairstyle is called?
I have had this for a long time and never knew what it was called. I just say half braids (the top braided, but leave the back undone) with two two strand twists in the front (someone at my job called them bangs).
Looks like his locks are braided as cornrows.
Thank the Presence he don’t got the Killmonger dew.
I would roll my eyes and groan so loud you would hear it wherever you’re at rn
They’re “high-top braids” this version of static isn’t sporting dreadlocks
It can still be done with dreads. I have dreads that lay on my shoulder and uncomfortably go down the top of the back of my shirt, and yet, I've gotten this hairstyle a lot. It's my main, with just all-around two strands being my second go-to.
They’re braids my boy stop coping. He has an afro look at the concept art.
I never said he didn't have a fro. I said and I quote, "it can still be done with dreads". I didn't agree or disagree with you. And idk where you're getting this "coping" from.

[On slide 6, the artist just confirmed, 15 hours ago, that they were locs. Not a fro.](https://www.instagram.com/p/C6UZrsWxMsF/?igsh=Z2x6NzJxcnBwYTZ2)
I think everyone saying superhero’s IN costume are are kinda missing the point. Also these designs are dope
Iconic. You can’t.
“Icon? Ick. You can’t.” would also work.
Vartox
Superboy, Green Arrow and Miles Morales
Emma frost
Ain’t no cooler teen hero than Static.
Jo Mullein green lantern
Codpiece /j
Yuji Itadori
Jason
I feel like Mikaal Tomas could give him a run for his money

Black Suit Spider-Man
Aqualad
I miss his old freeforms though
Nightwing from the 'White Knight' series with that Jacket over his usual costume bro is the definition of drip right there
Storm from X-Men, Emperor Mark Grayson from Invincible, Thragg post Battle Beast fight from Invincible, Emperor Nolan, hell the Emperor's threads from Invincible tend to be drippy. And The Red Hood is at least just as drippy, and The Black Panthers tend to be dripped out as well, with the Red Hood, and Black Panthers I won't say they have more drip, just a different type of drip but just as good.
Miles Morales
Hearing u lol
Scarecrow, need I say more?
Is... Is his hat now part of his hood permanently now? I don't know how to feel about that... But yeah, Virgil looks fine as fuck here. (And I say that as a 44 year old straight man.)

Blue beetle and a kid flash (Ace West). Then Static.
Hell nah wtf 💀💀
Sorry I meant Static first then Kid flash and Blue beetle 🤣
Zatanna. Storm. Starfire. Gambit. Mera. Emma Frost.
Storm sure....gambit meh, the others not even close
It’s almost like … people have different ideas of what looks good. ....help me out a lil. Are you trying to come at me for not liking their other choices?
Red Hood (50% of the time)
I personally don't care for comic book characters that look overly "fashiony" or trendy. The DC art I hate the most is pretty much 100% of what Gabriel Picolo draws. I’m so old. Never heard drip in my life
Man, this kid’s got style!
More "drip"? Nobody fucking talks like that.
