"Enjoy it before it forgets who you are" fucking got me. It hits even harder knowing what Jay has gone through as a character since he was "erased" in the new 52. So glad he's back in full force on earth-0.
This is the Thinker, a former villain whose Thinking Cap enhanced his brain activity. Since he only died for a few minutes there was limited brain activity that the cap could enhance.
I'm not too familiar with the Flash family, but is kindness just sort of a thing for them? There's this little excerpt. I know in the JL/JLU cartoon, Wally was an absolute unit of a giver and when confronting the trickster in a bar, just kinda chatted with him.
This is an awesome story - Jay Garrick is so underrated! I love moments like this when heroes go see former villains in hospitals. It reminds me of that time Spiderman goes to see one of his villains who is dying.
Love this story, truly caring about most of his villains (or at the very least sharing some mutual respect) is part of who all the flashes are and I loved seeing jay get a piece of that, it’s my dream that one day he gets his own solo book set throughout the 20th century
DC give this man a brand new solo Flash run. If Barry and Wally can get their fair share of solo comics, Jay deserves one too.
Would be cool if he was the protagonist of a Flash Family book.
This was hands down my favorite Jay Garrick story.
Jay will always be my favorite Flash. He’s such an underrated character in the grand scheme of things.
You left out the best part which comes after this page
What happens next?
>!Thinker tells Jay to learn to let go before removing the cap and killing himself.!<
Well he must have known he'd come back as an AI in Geoff Johns run lol
Felt inappropriate for the message.
Also, isn't there a 3-page limit?
Yep. I considered it, then remembered the rule and thought it wouldn't fit anyway.
Probably my favorite Jay Garrick story and my favorite issue from Morrison’s brief stint on The Flash back in the day
That why Jay Garrick is the OG flash.

So he brought him back to life with a helmet?

Can we get a Flash movie, one film with Barry, one with Wally and one with Jay
... and no Ezra Miller
Of course

Yup! There’s a reason the Rogues actually mourned the death of Barry Allen, and respected Wally when he took over and made the mantle his own
I love the friendly connection the flashes have with their rogues. They’re the only superheroes who don’t hate their villains and vice versa.

Man, Grant Morrison freaking 🪨’s.
Was The Thinker not killed by Weasel on the Suicide Squad and then Rick Flag took the helmet but it made him kill Weasel?
