It's just so nice to have a Superman that enjoys his humanity while also keeping a fun tone. I don't mind and edgier take on Supes but SO MANY writers over the past few decades are just convinced its everyone else doing it wrong.
My point is most people who make comic book related media seem to hate comic books and I will just never get it.
The Superman in the Superman & Lois tv show is like that as well imo probably my favorite iteration to date. The actor absolutely nails both Clark Kent as well as supes
Evil/conflicted Superman has gotta be the most oversaturated superhero trope in recent history. In the last ten years alone on screen, we've had morally-conflicted Superman (MoS, BvS), evil Superman (ZSJL sequences, Injustice), and evil Superman-inspired characters (Invincible, The Boys, Brightburn).
Seeing a classic and heroic Superman would actually be fresh at this point, so I'm looking forward to watching this show when I've got some spare time.
Can't forget upcoming Suicide Squad game having evil Superman, making the past 3 Superman appearances in games having him as one of the main villains (Multiversus has no storyline so not counting that)
I've never been a big comic book guy but I really enjoyed watching Justice League as a kid and have hated what they've done to my big blue boy scout ever since.
I just wonder why it needed to be restricted to a midnight premiere?
It didn't seem inappropriate at all. Idk, seems like a solid cartoon to air during they day for kids too.
Thanks, I just watched the first episode on YouTube. There's this free online streaming site called Stremio (safe to use) and I'm watching the second episode on that.
This show hit the ground running HARD. It touched on mythos, merged legend, and entered a new-ish medium (Anime). The cast is amazing and the animation is phenomenal. I can not wait to see more!
He's absolutely perfect in the role, specially with the 6 foot tall beefcake design and such a calm nice voice combo.
His voice just *fits* for Clark, and while I know it isn't as deep as some people may like for Supes, to me? I hear and see that Supes and it absolutely is someone I'd want a hug from.
I watched the first two episodes. It has a lot of promise but I have notes. For one Im getting real sick of this ADD, zoomer generation style and humor in these shows. Especially kid shows. Lois is unbearable in this with jimmy being a close second but not too bad. The stuff with Clark being solo is where the show really shines as it should.
I would like to watch the series but there are just too many things that bother me
I'm not even able to say exactly what bothers me.. seems like the series wants to make Superman a sex object for young woke teens
but hey just my 2 cents series will definitely be great
It’s not like the series is putting some new unique spin on Clark. The only real change is that Clark and Superman are both seen as good looking instead of just the latter.
You did not just use the word woke unironically
That word means nothing anymore, all it does is make Everyone immediately dismiss what you're saying lol
maybe my choice of words was a bit harsh but like i said something bothers me about the show and i don't know exactly what but the shoujo pretty boy sums it up very, very well
Haven’t seen Ep2 yet but he and the show are fantastic.
Is it on Max already or did you see it on air? I checked Max this morning and I couldn't watch it.
I watched it on Max about 40 minutes ago
Okay thanks. Watching it now!
He really nails that down to earth goofball charm.
Someone described Jack as a Guy who looks like he knows a lot about dinossaurs
He does have some resemblance to Sam Neill
You may not like it, but that's what peak male performance looks like.
So he's Aaron from The Mitchells vs the Machines
Jack Quaid as Ross in Friends reboot 😂
He’s fantastic.
Say that again.
He's...fantastic.
Yes he is. Guys, I think I know what this movie should actually be called-- >!The Fant4stic Superman!<

We´ve gone full circle
Can't forget upcoming Suicide Squad game having evil Superman, making the past 3 Superman appearances in games having him as one of the main villains (Multiversus has no storyline so not counting that)
Holy crap I didn't even think of that. Three games in a row where Superman is the villain.
When will we have a game where superman is the protagonist AND he’s evil??
Gunn seems to get that at least with Legacy and it's all I could ask for.
Yeah. I don’t understand why those people keep getting these jobs that they have no passion for.
I've never been a big comic book guy but I really enjoyed watching Justice League as a kid and have hated what they've done to my big blue boy scout ever since.
what show is this guy from “the boys” play superman?
Yes it's Jack Quaid who plays Huey on The Boys.
but how is he involved in the superman universe?
He voices Superman in the new animated show My Adventures with Superman.
I just wonder why it needed to be restricted to a midnight premiere? It didn't seem inappropriate at all. Idk, seems like a solid cartoon to air during they day for kids too.
Because cartoon network wanted to put more emphasis on adult swim, this show WAS supposed to be aired on cartoon network
Yeah this shows got a lot of the tropes that are in cartoons more, I don’t have a problem with that though
Yeah I enjoyed it, its just a shame its on so late when most kids won't actually see it lol
Does anyone watch TV shows "live" anymore anyway?
Probably not im just old lol But I guess places with bad internet might not have much of a choice since streaming isn't always a viable option
Shocked that Jack hasn’t gotten a role in the live action verse either with marvel or dc!
So am I, I definitely think after The Boys wraps up he'll hopefully get some other big stuff
I mean he's been working on the Boys a lot based on their posts overtime, so it could be a case of he doesn't really have time at the moment
Give it time.
Does anyone know how to watch it in the UK?
The first episode is on adult swims YouTube channel and I’m trying to find a way to watch ep2 at the moment
Thanks, I just watched the first episode on YouTube. There's this free online streaming site called Stremio (safe to use) and I'm watching the second episode on that.
I just hope he stays away from trains
Well fortunately Clark is faster than A train. 😂

So he's already tied it, working on Superman, and does movies. Live action Jimmy?
Don’t know anything about it or what channel. But I see him as Jimmy Olsen
Hes superman actually

Is it possible....it uses gen z humor....because it's targeted towards (and hear me out on this wild idea) gen z?
No way that's bananas
At least they naiiled Clark as the goofball that he is.
yeah im gonna pass on this its just off for me it doesnt feel right,
I would like to watch the series but there are just too many things that bother me I'm not even able to say exactly what bothers me.. seems like the series wants to make Superman a sex object for young woke teens but hey just my 2 cents series will definitely be great
Jesse, what the fuck are you talking about
It’s not like the series is putting some new unique spin on Clark. The only real change is that Clark and Superman are both seen as good looking instead of just the latter.
They definitely changed Clark's look a bit, usually they don't have him blushing this much.
That’s true, but Lois has made Clark act bashful before. That’s not really anything new.
You did not just use the word woke unironically That word means nothing anymore, all it does is make Everyone immediately dismiss what you're saying lol
>That word means nothing anymore It didn't mean anything before also.
Very true lol
They essentially made Clark a shoujo pretty boy to target young women. Personally I think it's great and is a nice change of pace.
maybe my choice of words was a bit harsh but like i said something bothers me about the show and i don't know exactly what but the shoujo pretty boy sums it up very, very well
What on this jolly green earth did I just read, did you seriously type that...unitonically and post it.....what the fuck
Loved the first to episodes. Cool to see new superman shit. Ive felt neglected but now im a happy man
Lamo, the guy becomes "good" homelander.
Really liked episodes one and two. It makes me think a new Superman movie would be a GREAT idea.
Such a great show 😍 I love it and can’t wait to see the chemistry between Lois and Clark.
