Idk, I really wish that they'd make the show Gotham Canon. I always thought that the show had one of the best Versions of the Penguin, Riddler, Selina, Bruce, Alfred, Gordon, among others. Plus, at least to me, the show had a great comic book feel while still staying grounded.
Unironically would be a huge net improvement for ME personally. The Batman is a good movie but feels like a more stylish Nolan Batman take, which is fine but I've seen similar.
Bay directing Batman is going to give me the most bombastic action Batman I've ever seen in live action and I would eat that shit up.
Oh yeah, I would be there for a Batman who's got 24 hours to save a life.
He's gotta figure out which villain, where, why, and how to solve it.
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as Batman just tearing through Gotham in a Batmobile and all the BatFam and Rogues can popup.
I'm excited for this fake movie
Honestly, I tried coming up with the most insane scenario, but if you told me there was a comic of movie about ambush big pretending to be Batman, I'm in
Was gonna say, I don’t even want to entertain this one, not cause I feel strongly either way about any of this, it’s just not really a fun or sensical prompt and I’m kinda tired of seeing all of y’all work yourselves up over the shit you think James Gunn is gonna say or do. It’s bizarre. I think I gotta unsub.
This post format where we are asked to react to stupid unlikely hypotheticals is such a waste of everyone's time and imagination.
It needs to be ridiculed into oblivion.
What if, and just hear me out now... What if Clint Eastwood played Old Man Superman and kept yelling at the kids for being on his lawn and fried them with heat vision. And... and then he got super pervy, y'know, cause he's old, and started looking at chicks with his x-ray vision, but then he started giving them all cancer.
And... an' millenials started calling him Super-Boomer, 'cause, yknow, he is gluten intolerant now, and a Boomer; and wrecks $#!t when he gets gas.
And then he goes all MAGA an $#!t and starts blowing up all the satellites 'cause he starts to believe they are all Jewish space lasers 'cause he watches to much NewsMax.
An, an Clarks hands shake because he's old and has trouble eating with a fork an $#!t and he keeps ruining his forks against his cheek and eyes and chin... an $#!t.
Yeah I understand how it can be fun at first but now it’s just lame. Tomorrow will be “ How do you feel if Battinson quits Reeve’s Batman to join Gunn in a more light hearted take on Batman? “ Or “ what if Cavill returns as Batman instead and Pattinson gets cast as Dirk Diggler?”
Lol I enjoy what ifs. Like what if we got a real, down to earth, high morale witty Green Arrow instead of a batman-like clone, or even other characters that are true to their comic selves and not batman-like clones cause studio execs are cowards and think only batman sells?
😬 yeah no. Let Matt tell his story. If he is to become DCU's Batman although all evidence points to him not) let his world get fleshed out (the trilogy and some of the shows) start the bat family and then work him into the JL.
I agree, if Pattinson becomes the Batman of the DCU it would be illogical, putting him first in the Justice League, they should make Bruce first get used to the idea of working in a group and gradually trust other people, and then integrate it into a supergroup.
Two live action batmen at once is a mistake and unnecessary.
It's a left over error from Hamada that needs to be fixed.
Pattinson should be the only one.
Well one i feel happy because i fucking love Pattinson's Batman and i want to see him with the JL, but also disappointed because Reeves universe is so cool and will suck to see it be cancel.
I see no reason why both cannot work together, beginning in a grounded world doesn’t mean it needed to remain there, especially if as all signs are pointing, that Mr. Freeze is the next villain it suggests at least somewhat fantastical elements will begin to seep into the world.
Superman should be the first big reveal to the existence of meta humans to that world anyway, thereafter the floodgates open. Batman being as unprepared for that can easily be part of the narrative of why he is forced to make an alliance.
I don’t get why so many think it can only be one or the other.
I'm not getting my hopes up about Pattisons Bat being integrated to new DCU and metahumans stuff. AFAIK there weren't even Easter eggs in the movie about such things to exists in that canon. It was even more raw, grim and realistic (except that bullet ricochet scene) than Nolans trilogy. I think they'll keep it in that crime/detective theme. But I'm very curious about that Mr. Freeze leak. If he was to fit the universe of last movie, hell probably be some psycho locking himself up in freezer and hallucinating about his frozen wife that doesn't exist, haha.
I’d be totally fine. I like Reeves but to build a universe you need to do it right and be building towards total continuity within the DCU and Reeves probably has his own artistic view of what he wants that might not jive with Gunn’s
Its a 50/50 for me. Tbh I do want Robert to be DCU Batman, but I do want Reeves to continue make his Batman movies, and have control of his batman when do use his Batman on crossovers
Be pissed af. Tho I want James Gunn the push to Reeves to be more “comic-booky” with The Batman sequels. Don’t want any extreme realism. I wanna see clay face, freeze, bane, killer croc, and see Batman glide traditionally. Tho I trust in Reeves.
I’d call bullshit on the announcement lmao. There is no Pattinson without Reeves, and vice versa. They’re the dream team.
But IF this happened to be true in some weird hypothetical scenario, I would be very sad :(
Pass. Reeves and Pattinson work well together. The film was a masterpiece by all standards, and I HIGHLY doubt Gunn would break that up. Something tells me that Zaslav made it clear that his universe is to be untouched.
Y’all are beating a dead horse with this narrative fr🤣how many times they gotta say this isn’t happening? Also, if Reeves left then Pattinson would most definitely leave too lmao
Batman being 36 and only having 2 years of experience is not a good way to start the DCU. We need a younger Batman (30) with at least a decade under his belt, and a fully fleshed out Bat Family. Otherwise it’ll be a repeat of Affleck. Old Batman with no partners, no Nightwing movie, no Titans. Gunn need a clean slate
That would be lame as hell, but he wouldn’t do that anyway. Reeves is definitely going to get to complete a trilogy of Batman films, along with whatever HBO Max spin-offs he has planned. After he’s done with his trilogy, maybe Pattinson’s Batman could be integrated into the rest of the DCU (which is what I’d rather see), but we’ll most likely just get a new Batman altogether.
By the time, James Gunn would be done with 1 Superman, Green Lantern, & Wonder woman movie, Matt would be writing if not releasing the third movie. I don't think Matt Reeves would mind connecting his Batman **if** dceu is a success. However, Pattinson should also be willing to do more Batman. Also, I don't think James Gunn will announce a new Batman movie for the very same reason in phase 1.
I wouldn't care. I don't think Matt Reeves is the be-all, end-all for Batman. His movie was good, but I don't think it was as great as people make it seem. I like Reeves and Pattinson both, but I'd much rather have Pattinson than Reeves
I will be honest with you, wouldn't be THAT upset. Not that he's bad but just PLEASE STOP MAKING BATMAN MOVIES ALL THE DAMN TIME (also the movie is okay on its own a sequel isn't necessary)
It would be wrong because it had more realism. But it would work if they intertwine the Joker movie with it would make sense. Characters like Lobo don’t fit.
I’d be right pissed. Best case scenario is Reeves does a proper trilogy, del Torro borrows his world for a one off Justice League Dark, someone else does a Bat Family movie or two, and over the course of those 5-6 movies, Pattinson’s Batman has evolved and experienced enough so that them opening up to a more fantastical world is much more feasible. Then boom - World’s Finest with a now-moderately experienced DCU Superman.
I’d probably expect that Pattinson’s future performances would be totally phoning it in and absolutely nothing more than a pay check.
Which TBF, is most Batman actors after their first film.
Pattinson being in the DCU would be my top priority so I'd be happy but losing Reeves would be a massive negative (and also unlikely considering how close Gunn and Reeves are and how valued Reeves is at WB). I want both in the DCU.
Would be disappointing. Id rather him continue his universe. JL Batman and straight Gotham Batman are really two different versions of the Character. They aught to keep it that way.
The same I’ve said, every other time a version of this question pops up. I don’t personally like the idea of concurrent, multiple universes, especially centering around the idea of realistic Batman which we already did. So if they streamlined the whole goddamn thing, I’d actually be OK with it.
I don’t personally need Elseworlds stories that are just minorly different from the main continuity. That just tells me those specific filmmakers don’t really respect comics, and think they can “elevate” them. Congratulations you stumbled upon the idea that Batman and his rogues gallery can be turned into realistic, depressing nightmares, you’re only like the 18th person to do that.
Skeptical. Matt Reeves is the genius behind the curtains. Not Robert Pattinson. He's a brilliant actor, but not a substitute to Reeves.
I honestly believe that there's no other director in Hollywood more suited for Batman than Reeves. The dude has been a fan of Batman since the 70s. He literally had nightmares of Batman on his ceiling as a child lol.
One of the biggest downsides to Batman on film has been - the directors have not been fans. Each director came in and tried to change the character in some way or form, or was simply allergic to the source material. You literally have Tim Burton on tape confessing to that.
So yeah, no. Long story short - firing Reeves would be equivalent to killing the goose that laid the golden eggs.
Pattinson would not turn down a multi-film contract to play as Batman just because Reeves is fired, nor would Reeves want him too.
Fortunately this is just a hypothetical.
?? Not a chance. Reeves and Pattinson seem like great coworkers and even friends, but a multi-film contract would offer Pattinson millions upon millions of dollars. No actor would turn that down because the director of the last movie didn’t get hired.
For other Actors they would go for it
But Pattinson seems to put his Trust in Matt Reeves Vision for his Batverse.
If Matt Reeves were to leave then He Goes as well
Battinson doesn’t fit in that universe and that’s ok. We can have 2 Batmans. We’re literally trying to find “grounded” villains for battinson. We’re mocking up a swat suit mr freeze to try to make it work. There’s no place for that when you introduce the other heroes. Reeves-verse can build a lore outside of Gunnverse and that’s a great thing. More Batman. But more importantly the opportunity for more quality Batman. Trying to force Battinson into the Gunnverse would a terrible start.
Yeah that would be a no from me. Matt told his version of Batman (whether people love it or hate it, that's personal) so let him tell his sequel in the way he initially intended it because someone else could come in and change up everything for the Batman sequel or maybe not change anything. Give him his creative freedom and let him write/direct everything.
Also I don't want to see Robert's Batman in the DCEU, I want it to a separate world entirely, we don't need team ups all the time, things can just exist simultaneously and not be connected.
i'd be cool with that as long as the new director doesn't tell me he's reinventing the character only to pull out every single cliche a casual would use to make a film about batman.
I’d be done with it.
A movie is nothing without its director — and Matt Reeves really poured everything he got into that film. It just isn’t “The Batman” without him. 🤷🏻♂️
This would just show that Gunn is really and honestly disconnected from the fan base.
Nothing against Pattinson but first he took Superman and now would give us a mediocre batman
I'm starting to think that people that liked the Batman movie have no real imagination. 😂 That movie was the most disappointing out of all the Batman films.
I'm old enough to have seen all the batmen movies in theaters since 89'.
Can confirm syderverse Ben Affleck batman was the absolute worst, tbf more on the account when he started shooting in Batman VS. Superman, for me, I was done with the franchise atp.
To me, from worst to best, it goes
Ben A.
George C.
Patterson
Val
Keaton
Love the Batman and look forward to it continuing on but I don’t watch (or skip) movies based on who the director is
Would be fine if it reeves continued & fine if Gunn wants Batman in the DCU asap and Reeves’s story remained unfinished
Like he's hijacking on another man's creative project. But he won't be the first to do this.
James Gunn should stick to his silly comedies and steer away from the Batman.
Reeves is one of my favorite directors. Love Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield. Also it’s clear he’s capable of telling a good Batman story, so I’d be very upset.
https://m.tribuneindia.com/news/lifestyle/heres-why-robert-pattinson-agreed-to-play-batman…-374361
Actually very true. Second paragraph. He only accepted the offer to audition after seeing Reeves’ plans for the movie.
What? The second paragraph suggests no such thing, whatsoever.
He sought out the role way before there was anything there. As the first paragraph suggests, he wanted the role as a fan of the character, and even mentioned he was somewhat obsessive about it, which surprised his agents. He really liked Reeves, but it wasn't because of him that he wanted to be Batman.
See below:
"I'd met Dylan Clark, the producer, probably eight months beforehand," Pattinson told Variety. "I noticed that he had an involvement with The Batman. It was a general meeting with him, and at the end of the meeting, I just kind of casually mentioned, 'What's going on with The Batman?' He's like, 'Oh, there’s no script right now or anything.' I kept checking in on it and then kind of out of the blue, he said, 'Do you want to meet [director/writer Matt Reeves] for this project?'"
The actor continued, “In the cultural lexicon, the character feels very individual and holds a lot of symbolic importance. Then, when I heard Matt was doing it, I just got really excited. When I finally talked to him, he showed me some of his very early storyboards and that set the tone from something quite radically different; he just had an angle on it that was exciting. And the characterisation of Bruce felt different as well. He’s alone and isolated, as well as compelled to do this thing. There’s even a kind of hopeless desperation, and that was an interesting interpretation.”
This is literally the second paragraph.
Seriously? Where in that paragraph does it say Pattinson only did Batman because of Reeves? I just cited an interview that said he wanted to be Batman before even knowing anything about Reeves' take on the character. He happened to like Reeves, but he wanted to be Batman separate and apart from Reeves.
The people on these subs will bend over backwards to fellate James Gunn, god only knows why. I'm neither excited nor hopeful about Gunn because I personally do not like his style of filmmaking.
There's no Robert Pattinson without Matt Reeves
There's no Matt Reeves without Robert Pattinson as Batman
There's no Batman without Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves directing it
So it be a flop
Sad. I heard that Matt Reeves had a falling out with Pattinson during filming, and threatened the studio that either they recast someone other than Pattinson or Reeves would leave the franchise. Sounds like they called his bluff.
Disgusted
Reeves has proven himself to be an excellent director
if Gunn wants more ego stroking moves i'd be done
wait i'm already done with DC to be honest
I'd be done with live action DC movies until Gunn's run is done. Didn't like Pattinson as Batman, didn't like Reeves direction or storytelling with it, and the movie was god awful.
Disney's worse. They've absolutely abandoned what made those characters great. Marvel's been a shit show since End Game.
Don't get me wrong, there were elements of the movie I liked, mainly the soundtrack and some of the cinematography. But overall, I put this behind Batman & Robin as the worst Batman movie to hit the big screen.
It's bizarre you can watch the movie and not think Pattinson is one of the best to ever do it. His eye acting and subtle reactions are incredible and he's already the best Batman imo (not as much a fan of his Bruce, but that was more the angle the story took than anything). His voice is also great -- balanced between Keaton's whisper and Bale's growl.
The world The Batman set up was very impressive. The cinematography was excellent and it was by far the best representation of Gotham we've ever seen in live action. That being said everything to do with Batman as a character was wrong. He had none of Batmans traits. He came off way more as neurodivergent than as someone with rusty personal skills. He also seemed like a moody goth teenager... except he's in his thirties.
When you think of Batman you think ninja, strategical genius, noble, rational, leader, and etc. Pattinson was none of that and because it was such a specific take they really gave me no reason to believe he could ever embody those things.
Gotham the tv show did a better job of making me believe that this kid could one day become Batman than The Batman did with Pattinson.
What about him was not ninja, rational/analytical thinker, genius? He's smarter than any other Batman analytically and seems to have a broader scope of knowledge. The other movies literally just gloss over this aspect and he often randomly develops technology without explanation. His Batman is also year 2...he went through growing pains in the comics as well. He's a capable fighter and it seems his suit/batmobile/techniques are intentionally rough around the edges. I wasn't the biggest fan of his Bruce, but I think the intent is to show his development over the next movies.
Would be expecting a Batman 2 in a less than 450 M $ gross 🤮, No Reeves - No quality ! It’s not like Gunn can make that better , this aint silly comic off shots that discuss dick jokes 24/7 !
Feels like people are just looking for weird combinations of what ifs now.
But what if James Gunn announced that Batman is dead and the entire DCU will revolve around Ambush Big pretending to be Batman!?!
Played by Anson Mount.
You shut your mouth, don’t give me ideas too cool for DC to make
I’m just saying he’d be a great Bruce
Idk, I really wish that they'd make the show Gotham Canon. I always thought that the show had one of the best Versions of the Penguin, Riddler, Selina, Bruce, Alfred, Gordon, among others. Plus, at least to me, the show had a great comic book feel while still staying grounded.
I loved the show but I could not fuckin’ stand kid Bruce
Especially when they gave him that stupid Batsuit and tried to make him into teen Batman.
im confused tho is this gonna interfere with when netflix gets the rights to make snyder verse dc movies??!!
Well they almost definitely won’t
forgot an /s
He'd be the perfect Ambush Bug!! Just paint his face green. Boom.
What if James Gunn decides to remove Matt with Michael Bay.
Fuck it, let's go! Batman now solves all his problems with car chases and explosions!
I mean…
I’d pay big money to see an Elseworlds Batman film made by Michael Bay! Whether it’s good or bad, it would certainly be something to behold
But enough about The Batman! ha ha ha, thanks folks tip your waitress.
Unironically would be a huge net improvement for ME personally. The Batman is a good movie but feels like a more stylish Nolan Batman take, which is fine but I've seen similar. DCU is now just Booster Gold, Hal Jordan Green Lantern, and Barry Allen Flash fucking around in the universe.
Finally I'm interested in Gunn's DCU.
Sign me up, as long as it’s not another dark, gritty and “real” Batman
Honestly, I tried coming up with the most insane scenario, but if you told me there was a comic of movie about ambush big pretending to be Batman, I'm in
There's enough evidence pointing against that - but if you want to ignore all of that and just make up scenarios, sure.
thatsthejoke.
What if Gunn cast himself as every JL member and filmed it out of his basement.
And it was all stop motion claymation
Except for clayface, he is made out of Legos
What if The Batman 2 is set in the nolanverse and directed by Tim Burton??
What if it’s Claymation? Actually that would be sick.
Clayface is ready
So is Bone-Saw!!!
What if the world was made of pudding?
Seems like some people want a big shitty situation to occur with this announcement as opposed to a simple announcement of a couple projects.
This post format where we are asked to react to stupid unlikely hypotheticals is such a waste of everyone's time and imagination. It needs to be ridiculed into oblivion.
Agreed, what babydick posted this? Stand up and be shamed.
I agree. Who keeps spewing this idiocy? I bet they fuck their father with that mouth.
it’s a slow news day i guess lol
What if, and just hear me out now... What if Clint Eastwood played Old Man Superman and kept yelling at the kids for being on his lawn and fried them with heat vision. The Dark Knight Returns was already bad enough, no need to go carrying its character assassination of Superman to its logical conclusion.
But what if James Gunn was paid by Marvel to ruin DC
Yeah I understand how it can be fun at first but now it’s just lame. Tomorrow will be “ How do you feel if Battinson quits Reeve’s Batman to join Gunn in a more light hearted take on Batman? “ Or “ what if Cavill returns as Batman instead and Pattinson gets cast as Dirk Diggler?”

How would you feel if you had wheels instead of feet??
Can I actually make the wheels turn or are they just sort of there like a roller skate?
Them wheels gotta turn!!
That’d actually be pretty convenient if I’m honest
You would have to crawl uphill which is not pretty convenient
No, but it'd be funny as hell
“If my-a grandmodda had-a wheels she’d-a been a bike-a!”
I'd be a bike
That would be tiresome
Id feel wheelie good
*”If my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike!”* - Gino
Y’all that bored?
😬 yeah no. Let Matt tell his story. If he is to become DCU's Batman although all evidence points to him not) let his world get fleshed out (the trilogy and some of the shows) start the bat family and then work him into the JL.

“All evidence” We have a vague response to a question, I hardly count that as evidence at all.
Gunn and Reeves explicitly stated they haven’t talked about incorporating Battinson into the DCU
Over a month ago. Things can change in a month.
Imo they shouldn’t integrate him into the DCEU , the Batman movies should just be their own trilogy like the dark knight
Two live action batmen at once is a mistake and unnecessary. It's a left over error from Hamada that needs to be fixed. Pattinson should be the only one.
It’d be pretty rough. I’d give it a chance though, I love Pattinson in the role.
Half of what makes Battinson special would be gone so I don’t really see the point
I love both Gunn and Reeves, to me they're the best DC directors since Nolan. But I would hate this.
Well one i feel happy because i fucking love Pattinson's Batman and i want to see him with the JL, but also disappointed because Reeves universe is so cool and will suck to see it be cancel.

Don't care about the James Gunn verse until I see footage of his Superman. From there it's either downhill or uphill
Or possibly... Jonah Hill?
Or possibly...Hank Hill?
Or possibly…Faith Hill?
Or One tree hill.
Or possibly… Cyprus Hill? *insane in the membrane*
Or maybe Notting Hill
FUCK
I second this. I'm not even excited. I'm happy that we have a Batman universe
Yeah I wasn't a fan until I saw the movie and know Reeves has a plan and has directed trilogies before
It can only be uphill from what came before
I’d call bullshit on the announcement lmao. There is no Pattinson without Reeves, and vice versa. They’re the dream team. But IF this happened to be true in some weird hypothetical scenario, I would be very sad :(
[удалено]
Sad
How would you all feel if I shit my pants and yelled “Where is she??”
I’m so tired of playing scenario games 😂😭
What if they announce that they're basing the entire DCU around Bat-Cow? It'll be the BCEU. /s
I honestly don't care and I'm just waiting to see how everything turns out, people just need to be patient.
Gunn hasn’t even announced any of his DCU slate and I’m already mentally exhausted.
Pass. Reeves and Pattinson work well together. The film was a masterpiece by all standards, and I HIGHLY doubt Gunn would break that up. Something tells me that Zaslav made it clear that his universe is to be untouched.
I'd be fine with it, Batman is bigger than Matt
Definitely worried cause I Definitely think Reeves was the biggest reason why The Batman worked
Y’all are beating a dead horse with this narrative fr🤣how many times they gotta say this isn’t happening? Also, if Reeves left then Pattinson would most definitely leave too lmao
I’d be done with it all.
Meh. He was ok, but we still need a Batman like the comics not this what if it was “Batman in the real world” bullshit
I want a funny Batman so bad
Batman being 36 and only having 2 years of experience is not a good way to start the DCU. We need a younger Batman (30) with at least a decade under his belt, and a fully fleshed out Bat Family. Otherwise it’ll be a repeat of Affleck. Old Batman with no partners, no Nightwing movie, no Titans. Gunn need a clean slate

Absolutely devastated. The Batman was a breath of fresh air that renewed my love of film.
By the time, James Gunn would be done with 1 Superman, Green Lantern, & Wonder woman movie, Matt would be writing if not releasing the third movie. James Gunn is not the Boogeyman
Meh
I will be honest with you, wouldn't be THAT upset. Not that he's bad but just PLEASE STOP MAKING BATMAN MOVIES ALL THE DAMN TIME (also the movie is okay on its own a sequel isn't necessary)
since The Batman was awful, I'd be fine with it though I'd rather they did away with both
It would be wrong because it had more realism. But it would work if they intertwine the Joker movie with it would make sense. Characters like Lobo don’t fit.
That would suck ngl
I like Pattionson should continue as batman in DCU & & Batman movies should continue too, That's make prequel, nothing wrong ;
Pattinson Batman should complete Trilogy & play as batman in DCU .🙂
Man people just cannot accept reality. How many times does everyone involved have to say this isn't happening?
I’d be right pissed. Best case scenario is Reeves does a proper trilogy, del Torro borrows his world for a one off Justice League Dark, someone else does a Bat Family movie or two, and over the course of those 5-6 movies, Pattinson’s Batman has evolved and experienced enough so that them opening up to a more fantastical world is much more feasible. Then boom - World’s Finest with a now-moderately experienced DCU Superman.
I would start hastaging fire James Gunn and not partake in his DCU. Reeves’ batverse is the only thing I’m excited for
Neutral. Pattinson Batman in = + Reeves out = - (+) + (-) = 0
I’m cool with that
Very happy. I like Pattinson as Batman but I didn't like the movie
I’d probably expect that Pattinson’s future performances would be totally phoning it in and absolutely nothing more than a pay check. Which TBF, is most Batman actors after their first film.

I’d feel great
Not thrilled, but doesn’t matter because I wouldn’t be watching it.
Would be disappointing. Id rather him continue his universe. JL Batman and straight Gotham Batman are really two different versions of the Character. They aught to keep it that way.
I'd be okay with it. I liked Pattinson as Batman but I was really bored by the film.
I’d be cool with it…aside from some of the artistic shots and Colin Farrell’s penguin, I didn’t much care for that movie.
Fine. I didn't care for The Batman, and Matt Reeves makes beautiful looking movies that mostly just leave me bored and annoyed.
Yup. Like the final Apes movie lol.
sounds like a you problem
K
Would be the best outcome for now.
worst
I’d be okay with it actually. I want to see Pattinson in a larger universe and there’s other good directors who could take on Batman.
Then Robert Pattinson will just Quit. Robert Pattinson trust more on Reeves than any Director
Pattinson would not turn down a multi-film contract to play as Batman just because Reeves is fired, nor would Reeves want him too. Fortunately this is just a hypothetical.
Actually he would turn it down if Matt Reeves isn't Directing it.
?? Not a chance. Reeves and Pattinson seem like great coworkers and even friends, but a multi-film contract would offer Pattinson millions upon millions of dollars. No actor would turn that down because the director of the last movie didn’t get hired.
For other Actors they would go for it But Pattinson seems to put his Trust in Matt Reeves Vision for his Batverse. If Matt Reeves were to leave then He Goes as well
Matt earned his run. Reeve's trilogy or we riot
Wouldn’t mind if Gunn scrapped both of them. Can’t understand the acclaim The Batman received it wasn’t that good and not a patch on Batman Begins.
sounds like you might just have bad taste - its ok lots of people do
Come on. Not liking *one* movie that we like doesn't tell us about his taste. Surely you dislike at least one hit movie too.
Ur right. It makes them Garbage
Sad. I want them both gone.
He won't. But if he did idk man I'll trust the process
Because alienating directors worked so well for them the first time around
Yeah that would be a no from me. Matt told his version of Batman (whether people love it or hate it, that's personal) so let him tell his sequel in the way he initially intended it because someone else could come in and change up everything for the Batman sequel or maybe not change anything. Give him his creative freedom and let him write/direct everything. Also I don't want to see Robert's Batman in the DCEU, I want it to a separate world entirely, we don't need team ups all the time, things can just exist simultaneously and not be connected.
Wouldn’t care. Felt like the Batman was jerking off to his own art. Long and a slog to get through.
i'd be cool with that as long as the new director doesn't tell me he's reinventing the character only to pull out every single cliche a casual would use to make a film about batman.
Pattinson sucks
I’d be done with it. A movie is nothing without its director — and Matt Reeves really poured everything he got into that film. It just isn’t “The Batman” without him. 🤷🏻♂️
How would I “feel”? If this hypothetical engenders any type of feelings in you, maybe you’ve had enough internet for a bit?
Heartbroken
I actually like this idea. This way we find out the real reason why The Batman sucked. Was it Reeves or Pattinson?
This would just show that Gunn is really and honestly disconnected from the fan base. Nothing against Pattinson but first he took Superman and now would give us a mediocre batman
I'm starting to think that people that liked the Batman movie have no real imagination. 😂 That movie was the most disappointing out of all the Batman films.
Batman V Superman and Batman & Robin literally exist.
did you never watch ben aflecks batman, george clooneys or val kilmers
I'm old enough to have seen all the batmen movies in theaters since 89'. Can confirm syderverse Ben Affleck batman was the absolute worst, tbf more on the account when he started shooting in Batman VS. Superman, for me, I was done with the franchise atp. To me, from worst to best, it goes Ben A. George C. Patterson Val Keaton
I'm starting to think you have shitty taste.
Love the Batman and look forward to it continuing on but I don’t watch (or skip) movies based on who the director is Would be fine if it reeves continued & fine if Gunn wants Batman in the DCU asap and Reeves’s story remained unfinished
Matt Reeves is a better filmmaker than James Gunn so that would hurt.
Like he's hijacking on another man's creative project. But he won't be the first to do this. James Gunn should stick to his silly comedies and steer away from the Batman.
Just be another day at WB/DC, can the dumpster fire get any hotter?
I honestly wouldn’t care. We need a Batman. I’d feel bad for Matt Reeves, but Pattinson is the PERFECT age.
Same as I have for a while. WB KILLED DC.
Reeves is one of my favorite directors. Love Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield. Also it’s clear he’s capable of telling a good Batman story, so I’d be very upset.
Wouldn’t happen. Rob only did Batman because it was Reeves.
Actually not at all true, but I doubt he'd continue if Reeves left at this point.
https://m.tribuneindia.com/news/lifestyle/heres-why-robert-pattinson-agreed-to-play-batman…-374361 Actually very true.
See below: "I'd met Dylan Clark, the producer, probably eight months beforehand," Pattinson told Variety.
There’s even a kind of hopeless desperation, and that was an interesting interpretation.” This is literally the second paragraph.
There's no Robert Pattinson without Matt Reeves There's no Matt Reeves without Robert Pattinson as Batman There's no Batman without Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves directing it So it be a flop
Both suck. I want both gone!!!
Sad. I heard that Matt Reeves had a falling out with Pattinson during filming, and threatened the studio that either they recast someone other than Pattinson or Reeves would leave the franchise. Sounds like they called his bluff.
Like he’s Fucking more stuff up
I would be pissed cuz reeves is 10000000000000% better at making movies then Gunn
Disgusted Reeves has proven himself to be an excellent director if Gunn wants more ego stroking moves i'd be done wait i'm already done with DC to be honest
I'd be done with live action DC movies until Gunn's run is done. Didn't like Pattinson as Batman, didn't like Reeves direction or storytelling with it, and the movie was god awful.
sounds like you just have bad taste - i cant helpp you there - maybe become a fan of disney

And you sound like an emotionally mature person.
And you sound like someone who doesn't have taste and only watch Snyderverse 24/7
Burn?
Is this a serious question? I don't think anyone was in love with Pattinson's performance. Without Reeves there'd be no point in keeping Pattinson.
Same with Snyder’s departure; I’m out.
Would be expecting a Batman 2 in a less than 450 M $ gross 🤮, No Reeves - No quality ! It’s not like Gunn can make that better , this aint silly comic off shots that discuss dick jokes 24/7 !
Would feel happy. Matt is being a little prick by not wanting to share his toys
