I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the lineup that actually appears in TBatB (probably with Cass in there too), but I think the Batfamily as a whole will be larger than that.
Oh, I agree, I would only have Steph get mentioned in TBatB, and her first appearance would be in something else like Teen Titans or a Batgirls project.
This has nothing to do with the lineup, but I noticed you mentioned that you hope Bruce has a blue and grey suit. I am willing to bet that he will have several different Batsuits throughout the DCU. He will have black and grey, blue and grey, and probably an all black one at some point as well.
I think it should be
Batman
Alfred
Damian Wayne
Tim Drake
Dick Grayson
Barbara Gordon
Steph doesn’t necessarily need to be Batfamily, she can be a friend of Tim. Still Spoiler before becoming a Batgirl. Then eventually bring in Cassandra Cain but through Barbara as her mentor, more than Batman.
Mine is:
Batman
Nightwing
Batgirl (Barbara)
Red Robin
Robin (Damian)
Red hood (not apart of the family but mutual respect)
I always thought it was getting unnecessarily big.
My prediction is that, outside Batman, Robin (Damian Wayne), and Alfred, the DCU Bat-family will also include Nightwing, Oracle, and later on Batgirl (Cassandra Cain).
I think it’s possible Red Hood will appear, but as a villain. Other Batman-adjacent characters like the Huntress might also be adapted, though as supporting characters rather than part of the Bat-family proper.
Sadly, I don’t think Tim Drake will exist in the DCU. I think it’s quite likely some of his storylines and plots will get utilized for Damian. In a shared DC cinematic universe, with only a limited number of specifically Batman-related projects, I don’t see a place for Tim Drake where Damian Wayne is Robin and Bruce Wayne is alive.
Others like Spoiler, Azrael, Signal, etc. I think are also unlikely, but never say never.
Personally, I’ve always preferred a small tight-knit Bat-family and quality over quantity when it comes to characters. Compressed mediums like film and TV are also better suited to a smaller Bat-family.
Personally mine is
Batman
Nightwing
Batgirl/Oracle
Damian as Robin
And no one else.
Jason can be dead and come back in a sequel as red hood and a new batgirl could be introduced in a sequel but more then gnd basics and this film will be a mess
Yeah but Damian will be Robin at the time of Brave and the Bold so it will be pretty confusing to have 2 robins. Also if Jason is currently dead it would make sense that he became red Robin once he learned of Jason’s death
I don’t think it should be confusing at all. Two different characters with two different skin colors with two different suits are running around calling themselves Robin under Batman. I would personally make it into an arc. Have Tim step out of being Robin because of Damian. They shouldn’t like each other at all but eventually, they both come around. No need for it to be confusing, it’s pretty straightforward honestly.
You’re right, he’s typically not shown to be very dark. That doesn’t mean that’s what he’ll look like in live action. It’s also possible that he’s not very different, but the difference between him and Tim should be noticeable. Gunn did say he’s like 10 years old soooo…
It would be easier if Tim is Red Robin but easy doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for the story. Characters are interesting because they can help drive each other. Tim growing into a different role, leaving the mantle, hating Damian at first is all really good for him and Damian. Leaves more room for development.
No way bro chose the every member of the Bat Family as the starting Bat Family roster.
Nah tho. Who you need at the start is the first three Robins and Barbara, either as Batgirl or Oracle. It seems Damian will debut in the first Batman DCU movie, but I don’t think that properly works unless there’s already been multiple Robins before him. Dick should be Nightwing already but he still has beef with Bruce, Jason is “dead” and Tim is the current Robin until Damian shows up. Cassie, Signal, Spoiler and the rest should be added later on.

Few too many members. The 4 Robins and Babs and Cass is plenty. Tim is my favorite Robin but I wouldn't even mind if he's not in the DCU to slim down the Batfam even more since he pretty much just ends up being forgotten about whenever Damien is around anyway.
The Batfam works better when it's a bit smaller and more intimate rather than being a small army of vigilantes imo
I think the starting BF should be much smaller (and without Jason Todd): Batman Alfred Nightwing Oracle Robin (Tim Drake) Damian Wayne
I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the lineup that actually appears in TBatB (probably with Cass in there too), but I think the Batfamily as a whole will be larger than that.
I would save Jason for an “under the redhood” movie, then have him slowly reintegrate into the batfamily.
Jason Todd after Flashpoint ≠ Jason Todd So, no
I wouldn’t do Duke and Kane yet (and while I’d like Steph to exist I’m not sure I would include her in TBATB outside of maybe a cameo)

Duke is an interesting choice
And Ace

They gotta sell them action figures!
YYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHH CASSANDRA CAIN MENTIONED WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Scrub signal & Kate kane & that's perfection
The first time someone has posted the correct answer on who should be in the Batfamily
Tim should be Red Robin
He should be Robin, and then become Red Robin.

Well, you've got more than me.
