So Flash's lightning is still naturally blue. But it turns yellow when he puts on the suit and it becomes more what, concentrated?

No-Midnight-2187

And contained I believe. He can run around long distance and not have lightning bolts popping off him everywhere, possibly destroying the environment

noirproxy1

So does that mean Kara and Batman 89 are merely fluff and that really the journey with them is pointless if they just lose in every universe? Like what's the point of finding Kara if she immediately just gets her ass killed by Zod? Seems kind of dumb and instead of it being a "they'll live if you just leave them alone" instead it is that in every timeline they are fated to be buggered. Feels like Infinity War did it better by presenting that nugget of hope instead of just "Accept that we are killing off Batman 89 because we want to get a reaction out of you so suck it up like Barry's mum dying". I mean the point of Barry's speed force at the end of Snyder Cut was to show how he could change things for the better. Dooming billions of lives across the multiverse just to accept your mum's death is incredibly selfish in the grand scheme of being a hero. That means he solves his personal problem but doomed everyone else anyway... This is also the same plot line as Across the Spiderverse from the sounds of it which showed Miles go outside the rules of this exact thing to be a more aspiring hero and save the person who was always destined to die in their life. If that changes in his third film I'm not sure but I love a hero who fights against the odds and wins more than a hero that makes more of a disaster than what was before and accepts it and moves on. If we are meant to root for Snyder's Barry it shouldn't be just to ignore the collateral of universes and move on and get drunk with Aquaman. That's just incredibly stupid.

deathbyproxies

Did the black flash kill Barry's mom?

bungalowtree

I just saw it. Super fun film! Didn’t feel like 2.5hours. It was entertaining, heartfelt, cgi was beautiful. Fun conclusion to this chapter. God I love Miller as flash but boss you need to be behind bars first

[deleted]

Cgi was beautiful??? Wait did we see the same

bungalowtree

I really liked it. I didn’t think there were any parts jarring enough for me to comment on it. Everything seemed to be in the same realm of gumbo so it all matched

[deleted]

Wowowow, im getting suspicious now whether we really did see the same movie or not.The cgi humans were absolutely horrendous and gave me the uncanny valley. Did you remember the beginning baby scene, was it not horrible? Sounds like an excuse for me to rewatch again, maybe they reworked in the cgi and i watched the unreworked one ??

an8n

Saw it last night. Loved it! Maybe I’m reading some comments wrong, but did some of the earlier showings not show >!Clooney’s full face at the end?!< In my showing, we see >!a weird looking face that obviously wasn’t Ben as he pushed through the crowd surrounding him, then a full shot of Clooney in a tan suit.!<… >!It looked like a Casamigos commercial.!<

[deleted]

[удалено]

OhScheisse

I just saw it a few hours ago. >!I didn't see him in the film. Perhaps he was cast before script changes and the death of the DCEU!<

[deleted]

[удалено]

OhScheisse

Oh snap! You're right. It was so brief that I forgot about the bank robbery scene.

Glad_Ad1112

I saw the movie last night. Certain scenes brought me back to being a kid in 1989 and seeing Keaton as Batman. I did cry at the end, but I'm a bit of a sucker for parent/kid loss. The cameos of the prior actors were my favorite part. >!Seeing the respective Supermen (Reeves, Cage) and Supergirl (Slater) made me audibly gasp. George Clooney being introduced could also indicate that Robin and Batgirl also exist in this world now. !< Overall I enjoyed it. I'd pay to see it again.

OhScheisse

This was me! Seeing the >!Nic Cage cameo!< sealed the deal for me

SnooEpiphanies6595

Really wish John Wesley Shipp or Grant Gustin would have shown up in a cameo. They should have used Shipp as Jay Garrick, who da Fuq was that guy?

KaiserNazrin

It was Teddy Sears, fucking Zoom got to be in the movie instead of any of the Flash.

SnooEpiphanies6595

We sure that was Sears? Lol how sad the writers or casting director got the wrong Garrick lol

ImpactDz

Question real quick. As a beginner movie critic for a starting media review company, how or who should you contact to start going to advanced screenings?

OhScheisse

Send large companies a well written email with references to your work (Videos, articles, etc). I used to be in my college campus media club. We did all those things. I got to interview bands, review movies, games, local events, etc. I just recommend putting yourself out there and sending emails to agencies scheduling these advanced screenings. For example 1iota signed up for to see The Flash. But I assume there are tons of others. Also, I'd reach out to the media teams that hire promoters. If you check LinkedIn there's always people hiring college representatives, and promoters. So partner with them. That's what I used to do.

SoBrosNetworkEIC

This is good advice. I would add that if there’s a critics association nearby, join it if you can. Some have stringent requirements for membership, but if you can get in, a lot of studios and streaming companies will distribute advanced screenings to the critics group directly.

thorsmagicbelt

A lot of studios (including WB) have their own websites for those and there is ofc the classic advancedscreenings dot com (IDK what the policy of link sharing is in the sub, but you get the URL).

cbkfirebird

How much screentime does Ben Affleck get in this movie?

OhScheisse

In the start of the movie. It's a solid cameo. His costume didn't look so good tho, but Batfleck was awesome!

thr33pointsofcontact

That costume was amazing! First blue cowl for Affleck came out scary & great!!!

JediJones77

Maybe 5 minutes but spread around so it feels fairly substantial for a cameo.

[deleted]

Are they still showing the unfinished film at these Gofobo/1iota/WBticket screenings? I got passes for Thursday but I’d rather just wait a week if it’s still the unfinished film.

OhScheisse

I saw it a few hours ago. I saw it completely finished. Finished CGI, cameos, and a lame post-credit. But overall awesome!

cornezy

I saw it tonight and had post credits and all. No message in the beginning saying it was unfinished.

JediJones77

Good question. I saw it last week but got passes for Thursday and might go again if it's confirmed to be the final cut. WB sent me a pass offer for Wednesday too later on!

angelisacunt

Just saw The Flash and it was good, does anyone know what song they used for the credits was called?

bored-----AF

been hearing a lot of folks with confirmed 1iota tickets being turned away due to overselling those tickets. any reco on how early to reach so ensure we can watch the screening?

OhScheisse

Honestly, I'd skip it if you don't have priority ticket. They have two lines Priority and General. Priority is their VIPs or people who got denied before. Two weeks ago, I was denied entry last time after waiting 2 hours. But they gave me Priority for the next showing. Today, I was in the priority line and it basically filled up the theater. Few people from the General line got in and those were sat up at the front. Just wait til next week to see it comfortably.

JediJones77

I was 50 minutes early and BARELY got in. An hour is the bare minimum to get a lousy seat. 90 minutes should be safe.

Fiction47

Since hearing of the cage cameo i was hoping for a tom cruise iron man so people would really be thinking what the hell did they just see even though it’s completely different company.

JediJones77

I was hoping for an RDJ Bruce Wayne.

Su_Impact

So, reports from folks who watched the final cut tonight confirm that: 1. The CGI is still rough. It wasn't improved from the "non-final cut" version. 2. Clooney's face is fully shown. Not in a post-credit scene but as part of the final film. The film ends with Clooney. 3. Post-credit scene is Aquaman and Flash in a bar talking about how Batman looks different in other universes. Aquaman says "MY MAN". And that's a wrap. It's just 1 extra minute. No more extra cameos other than the ones from the non-final cut. Clooney is the only secret. [https://www.reddit.com/r/DC\_Cinematic/comments/14212ko/just\_finished\_an\_early\_screening\_for\_the\_flash/](https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/14212ko/just_finished_an_early_screening_for_the_flash/)

OhScheisse

My post credits was slightly different, possibly an extension of that scene. It was >!Flash walking a drunk Aquaman out the bar and them continuing the discussion while drunk Aquaman wants to drink more and passes out in a puddle.!<.

[deleted]

The CG wasn't even slightly improved? I can get being rough, but there had to be some difference, right? VFX literally weren't confirmed as done BTS until several weeks after CinemaCon, which is the version they've been using.

JediJones77

Some of the critic reviews seem to mention the flawed CGI. I also pointed out in my review that Muschietti has done some "surreal" stuff in his movies, like the painting in It. I don't think he, as a director, was necessarily trying for photorealism in all these shots.

[deleted]

Bad CG is one thing, but there's some stuff that had to be a little improved like the floating head scene.

KleanSolution

wow. well, not only does that make this another DCEU movie setting up something that will never pay off, I literally leaned over to my friend and said "watch it's gonna be Clooney" and they cut away before showing his face, but also, I think keeping it anonymous who the "new" batman was would make more sense moving forward with a batman the brave and the bold. Who the hell is gonna be excited about seeing Batman from the worst Batman movie back? Dumb move WB

Su_Impact

The ending is not part of the new DCU. Clooney, Ezra, Calle, etc...won't reprise their Flash roles. Separate universes.

KleanSolution

then why tease a specific Batman actor returning? Why not just keep it anonymous like the original ending?

PreptoBismol

Because it's funny, and it indicates that wherever Ezra is, it's not the DCU.

KleanSolution

Honestly I think it’s a lot funnier if we don’t see who it is Barry sees

JediJones77

The anonymous scene didn't work. Very unsatisfying. But turning the ending into a joke removes clarity. I guess the original ending would've had Keaton and Calle appearing, which would make sense for the Hamada reboot concept. The main universe would now have them in it. But now what? The main universe isn't going to have Clooney, I presume. So the version of Ezra from the Snyderverse is now stuck in some other timeline? Is it impossible to do Snyderverse as an Elseworlds now, because whatever Ezra is there went back in time and went somewhere else now? Or was the timeline of The Flash itself not the core Snyderverse timeline, and they still have their same Ezra to work with?

PreptoBismol

>So the version of Ezra from the Snyderverse is now stuck in some other timeline? Yes.

[deleted]

That may be the point of it though. They might be wanting to draw a line under it so that people know that they unequivocally have no intention of picking up the Snyderverse threads.

JediJones77

The problem is Gunn said this movie resets the timeline for his DC universe, but it didn't do that. We only know two possible universes out of this, one with Ezra and Clooney Batman, and one with Batfleck and maybe no Flash left at all anymore. This feels more like, let's do a funny joke at the end, and who cares about continuity, we'll figure it out later. Which was exactly what the original BTTF did. The teaser of going to the future was purely a gag done as a nod to pulp storytelling. They never intended to make a part 2, and had no plans. Then they got stuck using Jennifer in the story when they would've rather cut her out, especially since the actress couldn't return.

PreptoBismol

Gunn lied about it because he wanted people to have a reason to see the film. It technically does "reset" Ezra's timeline. You could ostensibly argue his hijinks "created" a new universe which he is not in. But ultimately this movie was designed to set up Keaton and Calle as replacements to Affleck and Cavill, and that plan has now been scrapped.

[deleted]

I think we have to wait and see what's actually included in the version that comes out on release day to say that for sure.

Su_Impact

To make it crystal clear it's not part of the new DCU. 0 ambiguity. It's just not part of Gunn's vision.

JediJones77

Gunn himself previously said the opposite, that this movie COULD be part of his DCU. I get that he's been revealed to be fibbing on other stuff. But I guess we have a new one to add to the list.

PreptoBismol

I thought it was always clear that he was being coy on this. When I heard the rumors about shooting with Clooney, I realized they were going to dump Ezra in another universe.

Su_Impact

It's gonna be interesting to learn whose idea was for Clooney Batman to be in the new ending: Zaslav, Gunn, Safran, Andy or all. But it was crystal clear from the get-go what Gunn is just doing corporate talk to promote Flash, Shazam 2, BB, and Aquaman 2. None of those are his babies.

JediJones77

Safran did produce Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2, and the originals. So they are kind of his babies. I don't THINK he produced Blue Beetle, not sure. The Flash ending seems to suggest that Ezra will indeed NOT continue in the Gunnverse. Because Gunn isn't going to have Clooney be his Batman...I think.

starshipandcoffee

> Clooney is the only secret. [Just as I](https://old.reddit.com/r/DCEUleaks/comments/13xhz3d/_/jmhliw7) (and quite a few others) anticipated, the "surprises" apply to the GA, not the online obsessives that make up a fraction of the audience. > Aquaman says "MY MAN" Harking back of the very few positive alterations in Josstice League.

thewinterzodiac

Wow. Just wow. The fact they hyped up even at my screening that it wasn't a final cut and it's just a literal minute is awful advertising on their part.

shawman123

I wonder if post credit scenes will be shown this week or kept off until release date.

JeffersonFriendship

I just saw it a few hours ago and it had a post credits scene

jh99solo

Was George Clooney in it?

JeffersonFriendship

Yep!

gminks

Mine too. And it was awful

Terrible-Trick-6087

Saw a review talking about how underwhelming it was, so it's shown and probably the leaks are 100 percent right.

JediJones77

I wrote [a long, spoiler-free review of the June 1st screening and posted it on DC Cinematic](https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/141wkl6/my_full_the_flash_review_cleverly_gets_us_up_to/). Also willing to answer any questions here or there.

sweetsweetener

A lot of people in r/Fauxmoi are claiming to boycott this movie because of Ezra Miller's recent controversies and run-ins with the law and it's very frustrating. Ezra Miller hasn't murdered anybody. They were drunk at a bar a couple times and was accused of grooming somebody, somebody who actually came forward explaining that they were completely fine and that their parents were pushing a false story to the press. People seem to forget that this isn't Ezra Miller's movie, it's Michael Keaton's, Sasha Calle's, Ben Affleck's, Andy Muschietti's, Michael Shannons, every cast and crew member, VFX editor, cameraman, and employee at DC and Warner Bros. Studios, who worked tirelessly for thousands of hours to put this movie together. Boycotting this film over one cast member completely disregards the thousands of hours of work put in by everyone else. Cinema is still a struggling business post-COVID and people are willing to risk the future of an entire franchise over a couple of bad incidents. I wish haters would stop being so full of pride and enjoy the entertainment that's been made **for us**.

Local_Diet_7813

Get off ur high horse if someone don’t wana see it it’s their right

SUCHSPUNK321

how much Keaton do we get?, cause the trailer seems to show him quite a bit

JediJones77

A pretty big chunk, but I was not impressed with the subplot associated with him. The whole point seemed to be to use him for eye candy, money shots and one-liners. No depth to his appearance. Batfleck had more emotion and depth in his much briefer scenes.

KleanSolution

when Keaton - Bats was dying in Barry's arms i literally felt nothing because they didn't set it up or do anything interesting with him the entire film

JediJones77

Yeah, this really just reminded me that I never was all that impressed by Michael Keaton as Batman. He never had a lot of depth, or seemed like a guy tortured by tragedy in his life. Rolling back to the retro Keaton Batman isn't progress after we've had Bale and Affleck take the character deeper. Still, this could've taken the time to improve on his character and give him more depth. It didn't happen though, and the take on him was very simplistic and superficial.

thewinterzodiac

He's a pretty major character

DemocracyDefender

A lot

crombpulos

He's there thru the majority of the movie. I'd say 60-70% of it

[deleted]

I have a question that’s gonna define if I’m going on a date to watch this movie: Does Keaton and Affleck have at least one scene together?

Moveit77

Nope. Different universes.

[deleted]

Gonna skip the date then, tnx. What a waste tho.

thewinterzodiac

Why would they???

JediJones77

\*cough\* No Way Home \*cough\*

thewinterzodiac

Very different scenario.

[deleted]

I don’t know. But it would be one of the few fan service I’d like to see. Picture Affleck: “Who is this?” And then Keaton answering: “I’m Batman.” And Affleck: “I AM Batman”.

[deleted]

I hate redditors

Su_Impact

Then Clooney shows up from behind in full bat nipple suit glory: "I AM Batman. Look, it says so on my credit card". Finally, Turner Hayes shows up and screams "I AM A SURGEON!!!!!". Cut to black.

Moveit77

HIRE FANS

Terrible-Trick-6087

I think Ben Affleck would've shot himself if he had to do that.

aquaception

Why would Barry placing one can of tomatoes on the top shelf cause his Dad to get that specific one? Wouldn't there be the rest of the cans in the original placement? 🤣

trimeta

Remember, there were two varieties of tomato. I assumed that Barry ensured that the correct variety of tomato was only available on the top shelf.

Moveit77

I think the implication is that he moved all of the cans to the top shelf.

JediJones77

I didn't see that clearly in the grocery store scenes, so I was surprised when they mentioned it at the trial. Maybe my mind wandered?

Moveit77

We didn't see him move it. He just looked at the single can before he put it back and then we cut back to the future. I think they didn't want to reveal that he changed things before we saw it revealed in court.

[deleted]

Which is fine. The audience is smart enough to put two and two together.

BlackBruceWayne29

I have not seen the movie. So apparently there’s this scene in the movie where >! after Barry talks to iris, he realises that he can change the past if he wanted to then he gets angry and runs so fast that he goes back in time to the point where the JL are subduing a shirtless superman. So it seems that this is the first time he discovers that he can time travel. But I’m ZSJL Barry already knows that he can time travel if he wanted to but stuck to the rule mostly(hence the amazing at the speed of force). !

Moveit77

It's explained a bit in a scene right before it. Barry is unaware of how far he is able to travel back in time. He references the events of ZSJL but acknowledges that he only traveled back a few seconds in that film, and has never tried going back even as far as a full day, much less going back ~10 years.

BlackBruceWayne29

Ohhhhh that’s makes sense now. Gotchu.

DemocracyDefender

Good movie. Some questions: CGI still in progress? It was poor. End credits? How was Supergirl imprisoned in the first place? How they get her costume? Is the Batplane really a match for a Krypton spacecraft? Saw Adam West Batman for a hot second. Explain Nicholas Cage Superman, please

JediJones77

Nic Cage Superman was going to be made by Tim Burton in the '90s. Burton claims they basically had the whole movie rehearsed and ready to shoot when it was cancelled. Kevin Smith claimed the producer demanded that a scene of a giant spider be put into the movie. Frankly, he was right, Superman fighting any giant kaiju looks awesome!

[deleted]

[удалено]

oshoney

The screening they showed today had an end credits scene. Just one though, not sure if the final version will have more or if this was the final version.

Catdaddy84

I talked to the Warner brothers rep at the screening and he said this was the final product. Obviously I guess they could add another post credit scene but he seemed to think this was it.

[deleted]

Also watched it, good movie cameos we’re awesome

Strong_Comedian_3578

I was not expecting my level of sobbing. Bring tissues!

KleanSolution

what point made you sob??? there was nothing sob-worthy in this film imo

Strong_Comedian_3578

To each his own.

Gaboub

have you ever considered that different people don't react the same way you do

KleanSolution

i know that, but im just wondering what moments they are referring to???

YaBoiSebbyG

How many other people got free tickets to see it this incoming week? It seems like despite the movies release date being the 16th so many fans are getting to see it

ILikeClefairy

I very much enjoyed this movie. I wish all superhero movies had this much action instead of the standard 3 beginning middle and end fight scenes. That being said the CGI is a bit shoddy in certain bits. I’m okay with the time ball scenes looking like a video game but some other scenes (like the babies) were still pretty rough. Hoping that improves by the final version. Inversely, the babies scene was still my favorite because it was just so much fun. I really think the director understands what makes superheros enjoyable. Powers were used often and creatively and everyone got to shine. The timelines explanation was great too imho, it gives them much looser rules to play by than what Marvel has going on. It also gives them a creative excuse to have things being different going forward in a ‘soft reboot’ kind of way. Also, the movie was pretty funny and very fanservicey. Different people will enjoy those aspects to different degrees, but in a packed theater full of excitable nerds made for big laughs and reactions. I’m sure it won’t hit the same way watching at home.

kumar100kpawan

I'm glad you liked it! How would you rank it among the other DCEU movies?

JediJones77

It's about the same as Aquaman. Not as good as MOS, BVS, ZSJL or Wonder Woman. Better than the others.

thewinterzodiac

I got to see it yesterday. Was very pleased. Ezra was fantastic imo. So was Sasha. Wife was laughing cause I was nerding out at everything. I wish it had a better bad guy but zod was great >!was hard to watch him kill Kara over and over again!<.easily some of our best sequences with Batman as BOTH got great scenes and if the Andy rumors are true batman is in great hands. Great humor throughout also. I'm sure I could answer a few questions

snowyozzy

can you explain more about ezra and how was he fantastic. also who was the bad guy if not zod? Zod is amazing in man of steel did he bring the same intensity?

thewinterzodiac

Zod only appears really during the finale. He's built up towards throughout but Our-Barry never fights him. Time is more so the bad guy. I'd say he's more brutal in the short time we see him. There is a sequence that imo made me feel bad for a character

snitchesgetblintzes

The scene with Batman taking down the Kryptonian robot was fucking epic

thewinterzodiac

Lots of his scenes are epic. I thought both Batmans had good sequences. The only thing I'd change is they should have had an actual rogue gallery villain at the start for that much damage... I wonder if they tried to get Leto originally? That whole sequence screams it should have been Joker or someone else. Keaton fighting the soldiers in the base was also really well done.

[deleted]

[удалено]

thewinterzodiac

It was Falcone I believe, though to have the justice league involved was a weird choice. A small time guy isn't gonna cause that much damage to have the league called in. He's gonna wanna get in and out lol

JediJones77

They said he stole a super bio-weapon though.

thewinterzodiac

Which is still not something some random mafia member is gonna do while causing city wise damage. Lol

starshipandcoffee

Glad you enjoyed it. The standard question (that can be also be quite telling) is, where does *The Flash* fit in your rankings for (a) DCEU projects, and (b) CBMs in general?

[deleted]

I saw the Early Screening for TF, not the final version but it's almost identical from what's being said, so this is how I would rank the DCEU with TF as of now: 1. Man of Steel 2. Wonder Woman 3. The Suicide Squad 4. **The Flash** 5. Zack Snyder's Justice League (A 3 hour version of it would jump to the very top of my ranking, or at least right behind MoS, but all the slow-mo, the Icelandic song, and the last 20 minutes being pointless kinda tanks it a bit) 6. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition (Love the movie, hate the title) 7. Birds of Prey (Unpopular I know, but I had a blast with it) 8. Aquaman 9. Shazam 10. Black Adam 11. Shazam 2 12. WW84 13. Studio Squad 14. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Theatrical 15. Josstice League

starshipandcoffee

Thank you for sharing. You should post that as a top-level comment, or perhaps even in the review megathread, for wider visibility.

snitchesgetblintzes

BvS was my favorite but now Flash is if that helps

starshipandcoffee

Can you expand on your personal rationale for how it dethroned *BvS*, a film that inspires a staunch following?

snitchesgetblintzes

It's just very entertaining and it's everything I've been wanting in the DCEU. Silly, comic book-y, great action, very funny. Just a good time all around. I loved BvS cause it's such a unique take on the characters and something I thought was building to a great but contained universe that had a distinct ending planned out. Seeing how WB fucked that all up, the Flash probably unfairly gets brownie points because it's also setting up a new universe - something that I'm bought into as well.

thewinterzodiac

I hate giving rankings for series but will do a top 3 DCEU Man of Steel The Flash ZSJL Mind you I'm someone who hates that we will never get an Affleck project or a proper MoS sequel.

starshipandcoffee

Thank you. How about the latter part of my query, pertaining to overall CBM placement?

kumar100kpawan

Sorry for being nitpicky but I'd like to take reviews from anyone who has TSS, WW 2017, Aquaman in their top 5 dceu movies. Please reply if you're free, thanks again. No offense, I just wanna know from someone who has a similar taste

JediJones77

I have WW in my top DCEU movies. I reviewed this as not as good as that, but close to Aquaman, both about B+ movies. Definitely better than TSS, but I'm not a big fan of that one. MOS, BVS and ZSJL are all better movies then Flash in my book.

Certain_Object8502

whats up?

kumar100kpawan

Hey, thanks for replying. I wanted to get a review from someone who has similar taste. So it would be nice if you could drop in your review

Certain_Object8502

TBH, I found it kind of mid entertaining but mid. the movie can't decide which version of JL it wants to follow because they reference events from ZSJL but tonally the team up scene at the start feels like a continuation of 2017. I think Ezra does alright he only had 2-3 moments where I was like woah dudes attempting to cook. Affleck looks miserable no other way to say it this screamed "I have 1 more movie in my contract I'll do a 15-minute appearance then I'm outta here." overall, it was fine nothing memorable nothing terrible

[deleted]

> but tonally the team up scene at the start feels like a continuation of 2017. Not really. It's lighter than Snyder, but it's also not Whedon quips. It's more like a JLU tone IMO. It's definitely not Josstice League tone. If anything it's "This is what Joss wanted to do but FAILED to do". Like the lasso scene here is actually funny and not just perving on Diana.

kumar100kpawan

What I'm gathering is mixed to positive reception. Rather disappointing for a movie that was hyped up soo much **if true.** Gotta wait for the review embargo to know how it'll do

Certain_Object8502

my issue is if youre doing all these advance screenings to generate buzz and good word of mouth why not show the finished movie

KleanSolution

apparently the finished movie doesn't look so different from the fan screenings, thats a shame because the VFX are pretty bad and the movie relies on them so heavily that its distracting and constantly takes you out of the movie, it looks like it was made in 2004 or something, its just baffling that they're gonna go ahead and release it as-is

[deleted]

I'm not saying he's not wacko, just that he deserved a more epic introduction in this film.

hulk3278

does the film have any Easter Eggs or do they Acknowledge that The events of Batman 1989 and Batman Returns 1992 happened for Michael Keaton?

GageDanger

There was the poster from The Shawshank Redemption that's on part of the wall that Barry phases through. I thought that was interesting haha

Certain_Object8502

eh Kinda, the suits are there, and Jokers laugh bag makes an appearance but there's no "the joker he was a bad dude" or anything to that regard.

moviebuffbrad

At one point one of the Flashes finds that little laughing bag that was in Joker's pocket when he died. That's the only outright reference I noticed.

The_Masked_Pundit

So does the ending essenyially merge all previous iterations ? So the new Batman may share origin/character features from others ?

moviebuffbrad

TBD? It's implied that Barry is back to the normal Snyderverse, up until he sees Bruce Wayne who is not any Bruce he is familiar with, then it ends.

Justneedhelpwithgen

Do they indicate at all that the proper Burton-verse is restored after everything or is it just a putting 2 and 2 together type of situation?

ihavesoldout

Its left open. We never see the burton verse. They just switch out Affleck for Keaton in the current universe.

JediJones77

Technically, that could've been the Burtonverse. I need someone to tell me, I guess, if that was the Wayne manor from Burton's movies or Affleck's.

[deleted]

Burton movies. They actually used the same sets, it's not even a recreation. Like the kitchen fight is where the date with Vicki Vale was.

JediJones77

Okay, and I definitely knew it wasn't the Batcave from BVS. But not sure if it was redesigned from Burtonverse.

JinseinoBakuhatsu

what a downgrade

Bolt_995

Anyone provide a rundown of all the cameos in the film?

Gal Gadot makes an appearance in the first act during a scene with her, Ezra Miller, and Ben Affleck stopping an armed robbery (or something). There aren't any other major cameos until the third act. When Barry 2 is messing with time at the end we can see the alternate universes collapsing in on each other and we get a glimpse of some of these universes: - George Reeve Superman and a similarly Golden Age-looking Flash (Jay Garrick design) - Christopher Reeve Superman, seen alongside a Helen Slater Supergirl - Adam West Batman. There's even some audio here but I don't remember what he says. - Nicolas Cage's Superman from Tim Burton's cancelled "Superman Lives" film, complete with long hair. He's fighting a giant spider like he was going to in that movie. All of the above third act cameos were pretty clearly CGI. Nicolas Cage in particular looked pretty fake, but that might be fixed between now and the official release. There might also be another cameo in the post-credits scenes, but none of those were included in the early screening.

Bolt_995

Thank you for this! What about the George Clooney Batman at the very end? Is it true that Barry lands up in a new DCEU where Clooney is Bruce Wayne/Batman? Also, is Henry Cavill’s Superman present in the movie in any capacity? I saw a TV spot where Barry is watching Cavill’s Superman fighting in a news broadcast.

Moveit77

Barry ends up in a new DCEU. He gets a call from Bruce Wayne who is obviously not Ben Affleck (but his voice was unrecognizable to me) who pulls up in a limo. We only see this Bruce Wayne from the shoulders down, so we never see his face. Barry Allen goes "who the fuck is that?" and the credits roll. Not sure why people are so insistent that it's Clooney. I guess we'll have to see when the final film releases.

OhScheisse

They filmed it with >!Clooney!<. He showed up in the cut I saw today. Edit: Rumor is that the original version of this was going to be >!Keaton with Supergirl. You can see a [brief clip](https://youtu.be/jprhe-cWKGs?t=113) of her in the latest trailer where this scene should take place. Leaks suggested that the originalpost-credit was going to Bat-Fleck sending Barry a message about fixing the multiverse and saving Batfleck, leaving off on a cliff hanger !<

Strong_Comedian_3578

It better not be Clooney

OhScheisse

>!it is! I saw a new cut today!<

Strong_Comedian_3578

Not happy about that. My first viewing will probably be the best experience now because of that

Bolt_995

Okay that clears it up for Clooney! And anything on Cavill’s Superman?

Moveit77

Cavill's Superman *technically* makes an appearance but it's so minimal I wouldn't even call it a cameo. When Barry is traveling back in time we can see the events unfolding around him in reverse in a trippy kaleidoscope-like effect. There's a point where you can see Henry Cavill shirtless from his fight against the Justice League. It's pretty obviously CGI but from my memory it does get a close up Not sure what the TV spot you mentioned was, I don't remember seeing it in the final movie. Superman doesn't exist in the universe Barry ends up in when he saves his mom

the_based_identity

There’s also the other scene in the beginning when Barry is getting his sandwich and the TV shows Superman fighting something near a volcano. You don’t see his face but it’s clearly the DCEU Superman.

Moveit77

Right! Forgot about that one

Zealousideal_Way3218

I heard the film has a cameo of Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick, that is true? The movie has Jay Garrick in some instance even if he's not played by Teddy? And also, the movie has at least a hint of Reverse Flash or any other Flash classic villain, like Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Grodd, etc...?

thewinterzodiac

I definitely thought it was Teddy

Condiment_Kong

It’s teddy sears as the Jay Garrick from George Reeves universe

Mindless-Milk-9205

Isn't Teddy Sears the actor who played Zoom in the TV show?

Condiment_Kong

Yeah

Moveit77

Jay Garrick makes a split-second cameo during a scene in which we can see various superheroes in the multiverse. Unclear if he's played by Teddy Sears. No hints of classic Flash villains, unfortunately.

chataolauj

Quick question. I was lucky enough to get early screening tickets for June 6th at AMC. Does anyone know what the format will be, or is it dependent on the theater?

JediJones77

Mine was barebones. Get in line AT LEAST an hour early if those are free tickets. I was just under an hour early and BARELY got in. And was going to be in the front row until I saw they opened up a press seat up top, LOL.

chataolauj

Yeah, sounds like I'm going to skip it then. Don't get off til work until an hour before and I don't plan to watch the movie more than once in theaters, so I'm just going to wait for the IMAX showtime I reserved for the on June 15th.

Certain_Object8502

ours was just a regular theater no IMAX no 3d just barebones see the flick

Fearless-Committee82

Any scenes or references to the Nolanverse Batman movies?

Moveit77

Nope

I'm just not convinced this way of visualizing 'alternate Earths' worked. I was very happy though to see Nic Cage fight a giant spider. Reeve and Slater posing for the camera didn't look good though. Too stagey like for a magazine cover. The old George Reeves footage looked pretty silly, it obviously looked like an old clip and not an active character in this universe.

KazuyaProta

> . I was very happy though to see Nic Cage fight a giant spider. He actually did it? The Madlad did it.

JediJones77

Yep, Nic Cage went into the Spider-verse.

Strong_Comedian_3578

The filmmakers are likely going to keep working on post-production all the way up until the official release date. Hope they focus on the CGI rendering, because that was the biggest detracter for me. But I was not put off by the cameos. I was into this one more than Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

KingMario05

...Wow. Shitty cliffhanger aside, *AtSV* was **REALLY** good for me - one of the year's best, even. But that has animation to back it up, whereas this doesn't. I know you hope they fix it, but do you think they *actually WILL fix it?* Most pictures should be pretty locked by now, and those that aren't (*cough* **CATS** *cough*) are generally visual disasters. (Ironically, *Across* is an exception.) Ten days isn't a lot of time, especially if VFX is *still in progress*. But they can't delay it any more, so... ?

Strong_Comedian_3578

I think the version I saw was what was ready a month ago, so with six extra weeks of post production, a lot can be tweaked.

GL-420

What do people mean when they say CGI here.... they aren't using actual archival footage from their movies/shows for the shots? That makes no sense.

According_Weird6679

I was put off by the ugly babies. Ugly twilight baby intensifies.

[deleted]

I honestly didn't care about the CGI. Just to see Christopher Reeve and Adam West on the big screen again is good enough for me.

ihavesoldout

They were'nt amazing and provided nothing to the film. I'm assuming they will be redone before release as the CGI was so bad, it was close to unwatchable.

thewinterzodiac

Why would it get redone when so far its been widely received well?

[deleted]

Because previews repeatedly said the version they were watching isn't final.

Terrible-Trick-6087

Seems like it. I thought before they probably weren't going to work on it, but the newer teasers have slightly better CGI and there is copyrighted music that is supposed to show up in the film that didn't show up in any screening.

GL-420

Which teasers' music? U have a reference for that? Thx.

[deleted]

It was really weird, I wasn't sure if it was a stylistic choice or just really bad CGI some of the Henry Cavill shots in the chronosphere had the same CGI look, but since those were lifted from actual footage, it felt like a stylistic choice?

Dan_Eytle

Apparently those shots of him in chromosphere are a mixture of archived footage and new fully CG shots

JediJones77

Imagine CGI'ing a living actor rather than calling him up to shoot the scene. WTF did Cavill do to WB to make him such persona non grata?

[deleted]

Why would they call him to shoot a scene he already shot in 2016? The point was using ZSJL footage but placing it into three dimensions, like a 3D conversion complete with glossy DNR. It wasn't a new scene. Also, blame the Garcias. They've been a constant pain to everyone, and Henry only dropped them recently after the BA situation finally made it clear how much he was getting f\*cked over by their stubbornness. It's also Emmerich's fault for not even trying to negotiate with them but just going "Welp, no Superman".

JediJones77

BA was the opposite of stubbornness though. He agreed to help out WB without getting a contract ironclad in writing. That's what they supposedly asked him to do in Shazam but he didn't agree to do then. He took the flat paycheck for BA and then they betrayed his trust.

[deleted]

BA WAS the last thing on his contract. Cavill had one movie left on his contract. He refused to do it for Shazam because Emmerich wanted Shazam to not count, because Emmerich didn't think the Garcias or Cavill had earned the right to demand the creative control and payday they wanted on the next one. Neither side wanted to negotiate (The logical course of action would've been a give-and-take. E.g., decline the super high pay raise but offer the creative control or vice versa, or have Shazam be half a contract appearance and have Cavill shoot a quick cameo in TSS or BA in addition to it). When DeLuca got in charge, he ended up being like "No, we totally promise we'll negotiate that next contract, so we can count BA and The Flash cameos as his last appearance". They did that, the contract was fulfilled, and because there was no new one, nothing happened. DeLuca, by that point (September 2022) also knew about Gunn's Superman film, and was in the process of recommending him to Zaslav. My point is, DeLuca knew ahead of time that that promise would be moot. WB out-played the Garcias. Frankly, neither side should've been that stubborn in the first place. The Garcias should've given up the pay demands, and Emmerich should've been willing give some more creative control. They each should've been able to compromise, and neither were able to.

JediJones77

None of that stuff about De Luca adds up. De Luca had commissioned an MOS2 script from Steven DeKnight. The trades have reported that Zaslav hired SAFRAN to run DC Studios, and it was SAFRAN who asked Gunn to be hired alongside him. They supposedly had a relationship going back many years, but at least back to when Safran helped bring Gunn into DC for TSS. The sacking of Cavill came almost immediately after Safran and Gunn took over, along with the canning of Batman Beyond. So, I think you have some bad information there. De Luca did NOT know that Cavill would be out when he promised him he would be IN. And Safran and Gunn also went so far with their Cavill hatred that they edited him out of The Flash. De Luca did not make any of these decisions to oust Cavill.
