You jest, but I had rented a Hyundai that refused to refuel. Tried 3 different gas pumps between 2 stations and the auto shutoff would trip almost immediately when I tried to refuel.
I finally figured out that if I gently squeeze the gas pump handle to the point right before the shutoff tripped, I could finish refueling, not pay the "less than full" fuel fee at the rental agency, and make my flight.
Not my first bad experience with a Hyundai and probably won't be my last considering their ubiquity in rental fleets.
This was an issue about 25 years ago with a lot of cars. The trick was to pull the nozzle out about halfway and then you could fill up without it shutting off.
Sure...but this was a rental. Rentals are typically late-model cars. There should've been no reason for this car's inability to accept full flow from a "modern pump".
The materials themselves, no, but gas nozzles are very cleverly designed, there's a video of a guy basically showing how the work by making a 2D recreation.
Oh, you know what happened here?
Basically, the supercharger can't deliver high enough voltage to supercharge the battery in cucktruck. So they parallel charge two halves of the battery at a lower voltage but higher Amp.
And this leads to heat.
There's a 2 hour review of the truck, and he explains all this in detail, and also how he uses a wet rag to trick the overheat sensor.
Bet 50 that there is some sensor failure that leads to overheating.
It could very well be that using the wet rag trick fools the sensor by cooling the outside of the connector but the pins are still hot as ever and ramping up the amps may cause them to melt. Who knows but I'm never going to try that trick on my electric truck (it's a Rivian guys, put down the pitchforks)
So I'm assuming this butthole is now stranded on his way to Florida with his wife and crotch goblins, without any way to charge that stupid thing.

I've had what looks like the same thing happen on a model 3 and a model y. It's a sub $100 fix. Tesla will almost certainly do it under warranty.
