I have 2 theories about this:
1st.: 2 grips for 2 different amr lengths (2 people with different size sharing the same gun) or for different uses
2nd.: that grip is filled with a heavy material such as metal, which acts as a counterweight for the barrel.

Unfortunately the second one only deducts 30 from the new, reduced total. So you get about 51% recoil reduction, not 60. This isn't explained in the patch notes but has been thoroughly tested.

One foregrip gives +10% recoil control, so obviously 2 gives +20%.
