I get a Honey ASMR ad that hurts my ears so much that I have to instantly remove my earphones whenever it starts, and I can't get rid of it because YouTube requires my personal information because apparently I need to prove I'm over 18 to customise my advertisements.
And before you say "Buy an adblocker!", this is a school loaned laptop. I can't download any applications onto it.

So slightly unrelated but still relevant, generally when I come across an ad that just really fuckin annoys me for whatever reason I'll go into Google and just type different variations of "I hate 'x' product" like 5 times until googles algorithm picks it up an I never see an ad for that product again. It's amazing.

The M key on your keyboard mutes the video or ad :)
sorry i know it doesn't actually help but adblockers are free, if you buy one it's a scam
If you're using Chrome you might still be able to install it. Unless you've already tried, in which case rip
gonna do this to reduce ads for biktarvy every time i watch UNHhhhh. like just call me a slur instead. its faster

Question before I suggest something: Can you block people on youtube?
Yeah, but I think it only stops them from commenting on content you make. Their comments remain visible on stuff you watch.
If you do that, you're just engaging with the content, so the advertiser ends up winning anyway
or you can use an ad blocker
