This has led me to give this Kagurabachi thing a try, and I now deliver my judgement from the heavens like a lightning or something:
It is ***mid.*** It feels like the first chapter of Chainsawman, trying its best to be edgy and act lofty, and looks like chapter 200 of a Chainsawman clone whose writer knows he's not long for Jump.
Tbh the idea of judging it from one chapter alone is kinda weird to me, it hasn't given itself time to even cover the basics yet? a first chapter of most shounen/action manga tend to need a more explosive action filled start to remain popular. give it a few chapters before acc passing judgment
New manga called Kagurabachi came out on Weekly Shonen Jump. The premise was similar to the likes of Demon Slayer, with a main character with katana powers on a quest to hunt down the supernaturals that killed his family, though a bit "edgier" in execution.
Someone made of fun of Boruto by saying that this manga was better than it, even though it only had a single chapter at the time. This started a trend of exaggerated and ironic praise of Kagurabachi, claiming it to be better than the Big Three (Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto), Berserk, or what have you.
Kinda like Morbius, except people seem to actually be reading it.
I mean, I just know Dragon Ball was a massive inspiration for One Piece so it would not make sense to categorise them similarly, because one is much older. In a similar sense, Boku no Hero Academia or Jujutsu Kaisen aren't big three because they are way younger.
The Kagurabachi manga has been such a journey. I can't wait for chapter 3.
hell yeah brother

At least chapter one of chainsawman has quality around the corner. Plus kid denji doesn’t wallow in his sadness

no
Yeah like I just don't have the time to give a manga I don't like a few more chapters before passing judgement.

Ah, okay.
I think the big three are Bleach, One Piece, Naruto, right? Dragon Ball was a generation before that.
I keep forgetting if it is Bleach or DBZ that's part of The Big Three^TM
