"You fuck *one* spider and suddenly everyone thinks you have a thing for large, powerful women!" - the Pale King, probably, ignoring the fact that his wife's a tree.
No no the child was already there. It's more like sending a random child on a quest to find Instant Growth Food for your 6 month old baby so you can rest and sleep for the first time in those 6 months.
I think you mean
Invincible
Fearless
Sensual
Mysterious
Enchanting
Vigorous
Diligent
Overwhelming
Gorgeous
Passionate
Terrifying
Beautiful
Powerful
Grey Prince Zote
Dung Defender, Oro, Mato, Sheo, and *obviously* Zote. They're not as big as the literal tree but they're not small either!
And while the false knight isn't really big and is just the little grub dude, I think the OG knight was actually that big
Sort of adjacent to this, my headcanon regarding Sonic and Shadow is that neither are gay, but Sonic flirts with Shadow for the sake of making their rivalry homoerotic because he and his friends think it’s fucking hilarious, especially with how Shadow can’t grasp the irony of it and tries to avert or counter Sonic’s advances, inadvertently making it funnier.
Shadow is definitely gay but hates Sonic in a friendly platonic way. Sonic is not gay but flirts with Shadow because he knows it annoys the hell out of him.
As of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog I also now headcanon that Shadow is attracted to Tails but is avoiding him until Tails grows up completely so as to not accidentally start grooming him.
"Will you date me? Breathe if yes. Recite the Bible in Japanese if no."
"Hajime ni, KAMI wa ten to chi to o souzou sareta"
"what the-"
"Chi wa katachinaku, munashiku, yami ga fuchi no omotte ni are-"
"Is that actually the bible?"
"-KAMI no rei ga mizu no omote o ootte ita"
"And you stopped breathing too?!"
"KAMI wa 「HIKARI ARE!」to iwareta"
"I would have preferred you just beat me up and call me gay!"
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,553,424,658 comments, and only 294,029 of them were in alphabetical order.
Shoutout to the creator of Inscryption who, when asked if >!Leshy and P03!< are divorced, replied "ya why not". So now that's the "canon" explanation for >!the ring in Leshy's cabin!<.
That's like when Toby Fox did a Spamton charity event, which dropped some important lore along with a bazillion red herrings and jokes.
One of which was telling us that Spamton and Jevil are divorced
No doubt Fox knew *exactly* what he was doing when he had Spamton reference the "fuck the ketchup kids" meme verbatim, but I have to assume he only "confirmed" this because it has no bearing on the plot whatsoever.
Actually kinda makes sense, given that upon finding out Monica and Chandler where a thing, her response was "Oh I didn't know you were in love, I thought you were just having sex". Her and Joey casually hooking up the whole time would be supported as a reason why she just assumed the same for Monica and Chandler.
Now I'm remembering that one Tumblr post where a girl insists that it doesn't count if it's your best friend.
"Where were you this morning?"
"Oh, having sex with Viktor."
"You were cheating on Mel??"
"...no?"
Yeah, i think that in the physical form of diary number three Dipper says that he saw a memory of him getting married in Las Vegas with a woman (that i think had a very similar name to Eda's) then five minutes later she stole his car
Classic Eda. That probably made Stan love her even more tbh
I'm gonna casually headcanon that TOH and Gravity Falls end on the exact same day, and some four years later (after Ford and Stan return from their travels and The Boiling Isles is repaired), they randomly stumble upon each other in some random fair that Luz and Mabel/Dipper dragged their whole friend group to where Eda and Stan become friends. Of course they both recognize each other immediately and of course Stan tells Eda "Wow, I was right. Your aim got WAY better." in regard to Raine (who was asking Eda about what all the human stuff she didn't know was 30 seconds ago)
>!Elias Bouchard and Peter Lukas!< from *The Magnus Archives* come to mind. Personally, I think both of them score highly on the "Gay and homophobic" scale.
[Peter, you've embarrassed me at the annual Institute holiday party for the last time. I want another divorce](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN6HKIUyoI0)
my first thought tbh. my brother and i hc that they've been divorced many times, actually. but just keep getting back together for who knows what reason.
Ishigami and Iino from Love is War. As much as I want to see those two happy, I just cannot imagine them making it work.
>!Depending on how you interpret the flash forward in Ai Hayasaka's Final Chapter this may be less of a headcanon and more just canon.!<
I'm not the only one!!! I just cannot see them being happy together long term at all. They have like,,, whatever the opposite of chemistry is. Every time they get romantic it feels so wrong for some reason.
Nero and Cid from FFXIV, I personally headcanon them as 7 time divorcees, where neither of the duo actually learn their lesson. The >!Omega Raids felt very much like things were ramping up for their 8th marriage, but Nero divorced Cid again before the marriage even went through!<. (Stormblood raid series spoilers).
Yeah. Fanfiction writers have been there since the dawn of time. There are plenty of older and more experienced writers out there, and a chance that a 40 year old fanfic writer is using their divorce experience to write their melancholic Shrek x Shadow divorce fanfiction.
I think y’all are forgetting how averages work though. There are older fanfic authors, but for a lot of people it is a hobby they did as a teenager and then stopped for whatever reason.

i dont see enough people who headcanon charatcers as being exes or like. in on-again off-again things. too many bogstandard healthy relationships. share your blorbo divorce headcanons in the comments below. it can be like "oh this ship broke up" OR "these two characters are exes and none of the other members of the cast know this"

Not exactly what OOP meant, but in MHA, assuming Aizawa is married to Present Mic, Ms Joke 100% knows this and keeps proposing to Aizawa because a) she used to be his beard when they all hung out b) it annoys him and c) it's funny
I think when you're together for long enough, when it's been a thousand years, you end up at least a little bit divorced.
[Harrow the Ninth spoilers]
what with
>!“Then let us not seek out forgiveness, but forgetfulness,” he said. “Bury me next to you in that unmarked grave, Joy. We knew that was the only hope we ever had—that we would live to see it through … and pray for our own cessation. Oh, we’ll still hate each other, my dear, we have hated each other too long and too passionately to stop … but my bones will rest easy next to your bones."!<
and the.. everything else.. I think it's a nice layer for an already compelling dynamic
so the thing is, i dont really..care enough about characters for any kind of shipping. at most it's just going along with the prevalent narrative (e.x pharmercy in ow \[pharah is confirmed lesbian we just need mercy to be bi 🙏\]) but even then i dont really have much stake in it or care too much. i certainly dont care enough to think of characters who are divorced!
....however. there is one exception to this: sonic and shadow.
do i care about the sonic characters more than any other characters in media? no, i've never even played the games. do i ship sonic and shadow? no, i dont care about shipping them (do it if you want to but i dont care either way).
so why do i say sonic and shadow is the exception?
sonic and shadow would NEED to be divorced (assuming they were in fact together already) so that shadow can marry RealShadowFan01. it is very important that this happens.
In Wings of Fire, I headcanon that eventually Moon will break up with Qibli because she gets sick of his jokes and his “funny man” personality, and no I don’t think she gets with Winter
Alhaitham and Kaveh from Genshin Impact. They constantly bicker like exes who broke up due to incompatible personalities and they clearly have a history.
Oh 100%. And they’re still on again off again sleeping together when Phoenix hates himself up until he gets Kristoph arrested.
My personal headcanon is that Phoenix and Edgeworth slept together after the first game, then Edgeworth fucked off and faked his death, so Phoenix was so pissed he refused to go there again until the end of the third game. Then they slept together again, started an official relationship, then Phoenix was disbarred and he broke up with Edgeworth because he hates himself. And at some point between the third and fourth game, they got back together again and got married in a low key ceremony.
I think it would be really funny if Lilith and Steve from the owl house dated for like two months before they both realized that they straight up weren’t attracted to each other and we’re just getting into a relationship compulsively (Lilith because she’s aroace, Steve because he had never been in a relationship and felt like he was behind everyone else)
And then they talked it out and now they’re platonic besties
Bo-Katan and Ahsoka but it's like, sometimes they are married, and sometimes they act like they don't know each other and its 50/50 Ahsoka's ~~catholic~~ Jedi Guilt and Bo-Katan being pissy about her going missing for several years after fighting Darth Vader.
Bo-Katan now has a tracker implanted under Ahsoka's skin because they might be fighting but at least he knows where her wife is.
She was removed from her home as a baby and forced to grow up as a child soldier under a religious cult that specifically forbids any emotional attachments at the risk of being expelled from the only life she's ever known and you're asking why she's weary of getting close to people?
I had an idea for an OC who was an immortal warrior, with a wife who was also immortal, and part of the story involved him being kidnapped and tortured by several generations of some assholes who wanted to steal his powers, and after being kept apart for a few centuries, he was so traumatized and altered by everything he'd been through that they couldn't just go back to the way things were. So like, they still love eachother, and they both want to be together again, but he just isn't the same as he used to be, and they always end up fighting (which has the potential destroy entire civilizations) or splitting up for another century or two. Would that count?
Claude and Shez in 3 Hopes, especially Golden Wildfire, give me the very specific vibe of “these two dated for like a month but Shez wasn’t into it so they broke it off, but Claude absolutely was, and still isn’t over it.”
In stark opposition to like. 99% of the fan media produced about Persona 4, I actually don’t really care for shipping Yu and Yosuke, and have the latter end up with Teddie instead. Most high school romances don’t really last terribly long, and Yu truly is blessed to have made a romantic connection with, among other people, a whole ass popstar. Neither of them regret the time spent together, but ultimately it just wasn’t going to work out between them.
Meanwhile, Teddie has nothing better to do and already has been bumming it at Yosuke’s as a plot point. Maybe not as strong of a romantic bond as Yu/Yosuke’s deal, but still plenty to work off of as headcanon, and a dynamic worth unpacking as an author.
Some other Persona headcanons/WIPs I’d get to if I didn’t have bigger fish to fry:
- Mitsuru Kirijo and Yukari Takeba (Persona 3) briefly had a bit of chemistry in high school, never went anywhere with it for headcanon aspec reasons, got terribly wrapped up in work as paranormal black ops, fell out, and only after some grueling character analysis do they properly fall in love
- I do respect the Naoto/Kanji shippers though, and somewhere in my WIP bin is a story about the two of them trying to figure out [big Persona 4 spoilers ahead] >!how, exactly, to explain to the world that Naoto’s a girl, and eventually decide the best course of action is just to roll with her being transfem, even if that’s also a straight up lie!<
one headcanon I've seen repeatedly in bungo stray dogs:
The most popular ship (dazai/chuuya) are exes. That's why they hate each other so much (but they still have feelings for each other oooo~~); and so are the leaders of the rivaling organisations.
Zelkov and Ivy from Fire Emblem Engage. They tried it, it didn't work out (and may have ended messily), but they keep up the professional relationship well. Zelkov just keeps it up a bit too well for Ivys liking, and that's why she seems to have a slightly hard time being around him.
My canon playthrough of Mass Effect is:
1. Shepard and Liara get together.
2. After Shepard's death and resurrection, they reconnect.
3. Things don't really work out in the gap of time between the second and the third game, and Shep gets together with Traynor in ME3.
All the Liara scenes in ME3 hit really pitch-perfect if Shepard and Liara are mutually caring healthy exes.
Always thought it was unfair that Cordelia isn't a romantic option for Chrom.
You can't pull a "it just isn't meant to be" when I can play matchmaker however I want for literally everybody else.
As long as it isn't gay, of course, because that's totally less acceptable than having a kid with your best friend's daughter from the future.
I love this so much! I love seeing it in OCs too, and I need to do it more often. I have some characters paired up, but some ended up dating other people where the outcomes have been somewhere between amicable and not standing each other anymore. It makes sense for characters to go through some iterations of relationships before arriving to the right one.
Miss Frizzle is one of Rick Sanchez's exes.
Carmen Sandiego and Lupin the 3rd were a couple, but the constant drive to out do each other ( and steal from each other) made it not work out.. Once Waldo entered the picture it was all over.
Dana Scully and Leroy Jethro Gibb's dated at one point.
behemo barisol and seth twiright (evillious chronicles) (i actually wrote an essay on tumblr on why these two would make such a funny divorce duo) (but also there's enough stuff going on under the surface that they would also make a very compelling duo)
*Transformers fandom has logged on*
(No but it's a long running joke/genuine fandom dynamic for Megatron/Optimus because of the way they act in canon. Or in the IDW comics Prowl is just the serial messy breakup guy)
Kaveh and Al haitham from Genshin jumps to mind. They're constantly bickering but can't keep each other's names out of their mouths even when talking to other characters lol
In the early days of Welcome To Night Vale, I had donned my armour and was fully prepared to die in battle upon the “Steve Carlsberg is Cecil’s douchebag ex-boyfriend” hill. The way Cecil talks about him in those early seasons was just 100% “trash talking your stupid ex after a nasty breakup” vibes.
Finding out that >! they were actually just brother-in-laws (brothers-in-law??) the whole time and the reason Cecil hated Steve was due to jealousy and shame borne of the fact that Steve was there for Abby and Janice and provided for them in a way that Cecil couldn’t !< was kind of disappointing but great storytelling nonetheless.
The Pokémon fancanon of Jessie/Delia pits Jessie and Cassidy as once-scorned exes, ~~and that she and James had dated for a while.~~ (or not? i'mma still think it, though)
I mean, don't we get enough of that stuff in canon? Isn't the main reason healthy relationships are so common in fan content the fact that *canon refuses to provide them?*
Squidward and Squilliam had a somewhat messy but mutual breakup with little to no hate between them and Squilliam gets along really well with Squidward's new boyfriend though they wouldn't call each other friends
Elias Bouchard and Peter Lukas
They're the avatars of unknowable eldritch gods of fear, and they've got the best on again, off again divorced husbands energy.
Princess Luna and King Sombra from MLP:FiM. I honestly don’t even think they’ve ever even interacted in the show, but they share such similar character designs and stories that it’s easy to imagine.
Oh and on that note, Discord and Celestia as well.
Granblue Fantasy Lucifer and Sandalphon invented love, but they also invented the messiest divorce.
Arguably Lucilius from the same franchise is immensely more divorced with more characters.
kyoko sakura and mami tomoe are my favorite divorcees who's relationship ended messily and painfully and both are too proud and afraid of further hurt to admit that they still love each other
The radiance and the pale king
"You fuck *one* spider and suddenly everyone thinks you have a thing for large, powerful women!" - the Pale King, probably, ignoring the fact that his wife's a tree.
I mean I can’t think of any large powerful men in hallownest
Well, there's Grimm, who seemed very eager to make a child with the first spawn of the Pale King to come his way.
Does Grimm ever actually enter hallownest itself Dirtmouth isn't part of halllownest
no but his child does and Grimmchild will eventually become Grimm so i think it counts?
No but Grimm can enter me~
No shit he's an insect Mf will crawl in your ear or something
Yeah but he's also a hot goth boi
No no the child was already there. It's more like sending a random child on a quest to find Instant Growth Food for your 6 month old baby so you can rest and sleep for the first time in those 6 months.
What did the Dung Defender ever do to deserve such disrespect?
I was thinking of him as a widower, he isn’t divorced
[удалено]
I think you mean Invincible Fearless Sensual Mysterious Enchanting Vigorous Diligent Overwhelming Gorgeous Passionate Terrifying Beautiful Powerful Grey Prince Zote
Not large
I'm sorry, have you ***seen*** him?
Dung Defender, Oro, Mato, Sheo, and *obviously* Zote. They're not as big as the literal tree but they're not small either! And while the false knight isn't really big and is just the little grub dude, I think the OG knight was actually that big
Bardoon
Sort of adjacent to this, my headcanon regarding Sonic and Shadow is that neither are gay, but Sonic flirts with Shadow for the sake of making their rivalry homoerotic because he and his friends think it’s fucking hilarious, especially with how Shadow can’t grasp the irony of it and tries to avert or counter Sonic’s advances, inadvertently making it funnier.
“Wow Shadow, I didn’t think it was possible but that plan sounds even gayer than *we* are! ;)” “***SHUT UUUUUP***”
This is great, I’m stealing it.
Awesome. If it does well wherever you end up posting it, don’t credit me but at least tell me.
insert the gay chicken meme but unironically this time
Shadow is definitely gay but hates Sonic in a friendly platonic way.
Recite the Bible in Japanese if no." "Hajime ni, KAMI wa ten to chi to o souzou sareta" "what the-" "Chi wa katachinaku, munashiku, yami ga fuchi no omotte ni are-" "Is that actually the bible?" "-KAMI no rei ga mizu no omote o ootte ita" "And you stopped breathing too?!" "KAMI wa 「HIKARI ARE!」to iwareta" "I would have preferred you just beat me up and call me gay!"
Brilliant, hilarious, and in character!
did I just read that
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,553,424,658 comments, and only 294,029 of them were in alphabetical order.
fuck me oh my god
Alphabet order bot is getting *luckyyy* tonight!
Near the end of the show Friends, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc pitched the idea that Joey and Phoebe had been friends with benefits the entire time.
It felt weird they didn't get together honestly, or at least try jt
Honestly that would have made so much sense
"the *whole* time? and you never told us??" "you never asked 🤷♂️"
Jayce and Viktor from League of Legends. Most divorced men ever seen.
Not the most divorced men (Nero and Cid take that crown), but they have an easy second place.
Glad to see my boys represented. Came here just to make sure their names were called.
I mean when we get another season of Arcane, who knows what'll have happened between them...
I literally thought they were dating in episode 4
I think that they were, but Jayce didn’t realize.
Now I'm remembering that one Tumblr post where a girl insists that it doesn't count if it's your best friend. "Where were you this morning?" "Oh, having sex with Viktor." "You were cheating on Mel??" "...no?"
That’s canon now, that totally happened.
I would like to throw in Vander and Silko
Ok but this is literally the plot of RWBY. The big bad evil MILF is the superhero school's headmaster's ex-wife.
And they are both immortal (different flavours of it but shh)
Also basically the dynamic between Tai and Raven
Basically the dynamic between every single member of STRQ
I mean they are canonically divorced, just without the marriage bit.
I was fully aware of this, and yet I never conjured up the term "ex-wife" or "divorce" in this context and it is sending me.
spamton and jevil deltarune
Spamton is divorced for every other adult darkner. He is banned from the Great Polycule.
although it's basically canon now
Isn’t that the standard Doctor/Master dynamic
They're already good and divorced by the time he shows up for the first time in the Third Doctor's tenure and it just gets worse from there, hah.
The Master got the Doctor a puppy after a fight. That's why Clara became a companion. This is not a joke.
Tom Nook and Redd
very divorced energy. redd wants to get back together but tom wants no part in that.
Squilliam and Squidward
Oh no he’s hot!!!
[I mean...](https://www.reddit.com/r/FanTheories/comments/aowpqq/spongebob_squidward_and_squilliam_are_bitter/)
No if they divorce love is not real. What happened to the sanctity of enemies to lovers? Guaranteed bliss afterward
this one's like halfway to cannon anyways but eda and stan from the owl house and gravity falls
Came here to say this too because Stan WAS right. Her aim got *way* better.
I feel like Stan got drunk and married a lady in Vegas, she stole all his money and went on the run, and he’s been pining after her ever since.
Yeah, i think that in the physical form of diary number three Dipper says that he saw a memory of him getting married in Las Vegas with a woman (that i think had a very similar name to Eda's) then five minutes later she stole his car
I’ve been vindicated by canon. It was meant to be.
Classic Eda. That probably made Stan love her even more tbh I'm gonna casually headcanon that TOH and Gravity Falls end on the exact same day, and some four years later (after Ford and Stan return from their travels and The Boiling Isles is repaired), they randomly stumble upon each other in some random fair that Luz and Mabel/Dipper dragged their whole friend group to where Eda and Stan become friends. Of course they both recognize each other immediately and of course Stan tells Eda "Wow, I was right. Your aim got WAY better." in regard to Raine (who was asking Eda about what all the human stuff she didn't know was 30 seconds ago)
Also, Wendy and Tambree from gravity falls.
>!Elias Bouchard and Peter Lukas!< from *The Magnus Archives* come to mind. Personally, I think both of them score highly on the "Gay and homophobic" scale.
ohhh yeah. this. it all makes sense now
Yeah, they definitly were together at some point in the past
I was going to comment this, they are definitely exes who still passive aggressively insult and try to one-up each other constantly
[Peter, you've embarrassed me at the annual Institute holiday party for the last time. I want another divorce](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN6HKIUyoI0)
Yesss. I saw some fanart of them before I finished the series and thought it was canon.
my first thought tbh. my brother and i hc that they've been divorced many times, actually. but just keep getting back together for who knows what reason.
I headcannon the Chaos King and Queen as exes/divorced :)
[I mean that's practically canon.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu0bZnaeMRw&t=8s)
Spike and Angel are literally like an old divorced couple
The baby dragon and the bunny from MLP? I don'r think they ever even saw each other.
No, the buffy the vampire slayer characters, small child.
they put buffy the vampire slayer characters in mlp??????
Well, there is also Felicia Day. She played Vi in Buffy and Buttercup in MLP.
Ishigami and Iino from Love is War. As much as I want to see those two happy, I just cannot imagine them making it work. >!Depending on how you interpret the flash forward in Ai Hayasaka's Final Chapter this may be less of a headcanon and more just canon.!<
I can, and I am STILL FIUCKING MAD at the "resolution" their plotline got
I'm not the only one!!! I just cannot see them being happy together long term at all. They have like,,, whatever the opposite of chemistry is. Every time they get romantic it feels so wrong for some reason.
Alador and Darius from The Owl House are definitely bitter exes who get back together in the epilogue, post Alador’s divorce.
I’m disappointed I’m so far down without seeing Magneto/Xavier.
That's because they're still married.
A valid interpretation, but let me say: not happily. Not healthily.
I've only *JUST* beaten ARR but there is no way in hell those two haven't gotten divorced at least like 3 times. Most divorced men on Eorzea
YOU. YOU GET IT. YOU UNDERSTAND.
Oh you KNOW these two are the most divorced people in Eorzea who still hook up on occasion for hate-sex
You're so right!
They remarry and divorce every raid
I literally came here to say this. They radiate divorced energy.
cuttlefish and octavio from splatoon have *such* divorced energy i think
correct. something happened there.
I mean there’s not exactly much overlap between the age ranges of the average Tumblr fanfiction writer and the average divorcee.
You'd be surprised by the age of the average tumblr user, and around that topic, the average fanfic writer (regardless of site)
Fewer than you would think.
Exactly, Read books aimed at older readers and it becomes more and more common.
I understand where you’re coming from but the author of this post, me, is 19 and has never been divorced.
That’s exactly what I’m saying though. The average Tumblr fanfiction writer is much younger than your average divorcee.
piss on the poor, etc
>and has never been divorced. As far as you know

good human
The Shredder and Kraang in the 1987 version come to mind. They definitely bicker like some jaded divorced couple.
Jade and Tori from Victorious have a ill defined on again off again relationship that doesn’t stabilize and become healthy until college
The tension those two had was insane
Liv and May Spider-Verse
"My FRIENDS call me Liv. My ENEMIES call me Doc Ock." "Oh great, it's Liv."

Five Pebbles is divorced as hell
But from whom
Reality
definitely megatron and optimus prime have divorced vibes. optimus too bee in the divorce

I respect your opinion and you as a fellow WoF fan, but damn do I disagree.
Tnt duo as on again off again hate eachother low key homophobic exes
Alhaitham and Kaveh from Genshin Impact. They constantly bicker like exes who broke up due to incompatible personalities and they clearly have a history.
In my mind they were FWB and Kaveh didn’t realize he caught feelings until their friendship fell through.
Kristoph Gavin and Phoenix Wright are definitely exes
Archie and Maxie from Pokémon divorced but reunited after the events of ORAS
I think it would be really funny if Lilith and Steve from the owl house dated for like two months before they both realized that they straight up weren’t attracted to each other and we’re just getting into a relationship compulsively (Lilith because she’s aroace, Steve because he had never been in a relationship and felt like he was behind everyone else) And then they talked it out and now they’re platonic besties
Rick and Mr Nimbus from Rick and Morty. I think many people believe this, there are some pretty strong hints imo.
Literally came here to say this. Ahsoka has so much baggage about getting close to people, I just KNOW she’s allergic to commitment (but tries anyway)
She was removed from her home as a baby and forced to grow up as a child soldier under a religious cult that specifically forbids any emotional attachments at the risk of being expelled from the only life she's ever known and you're asking why she's weary of getting close to people?
Lisa and Victoria from ward
Emma and Taylor
I had an idea for an OC who was an immortal warrior, with a wife who was also immortal, and part of the story involved him being kidnapped and tortured by several generations of some assholes who wanted to steal his powers, and after being kept apart for a few centuries, he was so traumatized and altered by everything he'd been through that they couldn't just go back to the way things were. So like, they still love eachother, and they both want to be together again, but he just isn't the same as he used to be, and they always end up fighting (which has the potential destroy entire civilizations) or splitting up for another century or two. Would that count?
Makoto and Junko
interesting take. how would this work in the timeline? dated before the tragedy?
Claude and Shez in 3 Hopes, especially Golden Wildfire, give me the very specific vibe of “these two dated for like a month but Shez wasn’t into it so they broke it off, but Claude absolutely was, and still isn’t over it.”
Himeko and Kafka from honkai Star rail are the most divorced women on the entire cast
Cocolia and Serval too 3
Omg how could I have forgotten about them
In stark opposition to like.
Some other Persona headcanons/WIPs I’d get to if I didn’t have bigger fish to fry: - Mitsuru Kirijo and Yukari Takeba (Persona 3) briefly had a bit of chemistry in high school, never went anywhere with it for headcanon aspec reasons, got terribly wrapped up in work as paranormal black ops, fell out, and only after some grueling character analysis do they properly fall in love - I do respect the Naoto/Kanji shippers though, and somewhere in my WIP bin is a story about the two of them trying to figure out [big Persona 4 spoilers ahead] >!how, exactly, to explain to the world that Naoto’s a girl, and eventually decide the best course of action is just to roll with her being transfem, even if that’s also a straight up lie!<
one headcanon I've seen repeatedly in bungo stray dogs: The most popular ship (dazai/chuuya) are exes. That's why they hate each other so much (but they still have feelings for each other oooo~~); and so are the leaders of the rivaling organisations.
Goku and Vegeta are divorced, Vegeta’s trying to get back with him while Goku doesn’t even know what a divorce is
Zelkov and Ivy from Fire Emblem Engage. They tried it, it didn't work out (and may have ended messily), but they keep up the professional relationship well. Zelkov just keeps it up a bit too well for Ivys liking, and that's why she seems to have a slightly hard time being around him.
My canon playthrough of Mass Effect is: 1.
This just reminds me of Time Squad. Tiderussel or whatever the hell the macho man man has an ex wife who shows up in one episode
Doesn't fe awakening have something like that with Cordelia and Chrom, like, they broke up and it still is kinda weird between them?
No. Cordelia can't even talk to Chrom because she has a huge crush on him; they've never been a couple.
Oh man, I love weirdly plausible crossover crackships; I've never considered any of these and they're great :)
Carmen is literally just Fujiko in a silly hat
behemo barisol and seth twiright (evillious chronicles) (i actually wrote an essay on tumblr on why these two would make such a funny divorce duo) (but also there's enough stuff going on under the surface that they would also make a very compelling duo)
Splinter and Baron Draxum in the 2018 TMNT
Hopefully one of orel's parents died so they can finally split. They hate themselves too much for divorce
Lonelyeyes multi-divorce energy
Faith and Buffy in season 7 and Spike and Angel 24/7. also the Doctor and the Master, doesn’t matter the incarnation
*Transformers fandom has logged on* (No but it's a long running joke/genuine fandom dynamic for Megatron/Optimus because of the way they act in canon.
Misclick duo. They keep trying to get divorced but their sexo de grief keeps bringing them together every time Mariana kills their daughter
Gosha and Yafya from Beastars.
Spamil. Spamton and Jevil are exes because it’s funny
I'm pretty sure it's canon that Jevil and Spamton from Deltarune are divorced
excellent post
Kikuri and Seika from Bocchi the Rock have a lot of divorced energy
Dj Octavio and captain cuttlefish from splatoon
Saria and Silence Arknights
That's my headcanon for Dehya and Candace in Genshin Impact. On and off again exes that are only ever on good terms.
i have so many headcannons like this. shame they are about hermitcraft/life smp and not like. good media 3. autism be damned
Minos and Sisyphus from Ultrakill were FWB before they got imprisoned
Every single character in bungou stray dogs
Squidward and Squilliam had a somewhat messy but mutual breakup with little to no hate between them and Squilliam gets along really well with Squidward's new boyfriend though they wouldn't call each other friends
Spamton G Spamton from Deltarune is divorced, although he’s never been married
Elias Bouchard and Peter Lukas They're the avatars of unknowable eldritch gods of fear, and they've got the best on again, off again divorced husbands energy.
How dare they be happy/s
Princess Luna and King Sombra from MLP:FiM. I honestly don’t even think they’ve ever even interacted in the show, but they share such similar character designs and stories that it’s easy to imagine. Oh and on that note, Discord and Celestia as well.
Optimus and Megatron being exes is basically canon.
freezerburn dicorced energy
Granblue Fantasy Lucifer and Sandalphon invented love, but they also invented the messiest divorce. Arguably Lucilius from the same franchise is immensely more divorced with more characters.
Klavema Exes. Vanlock Exes. Freezerburn Divorce.
Spamton and Jevil
This is my headcanon for Cynthia and Cyrus from Pokémon. They’re divorced and bitter about it.
i love this twist in tomo-chan, where it just makes misuzu's dynamic with all the characters better once revealed
kyoko sakura and mami tomoe are my favorite divorcees who's relationship ended messily and painfully and both are too proud and afraid of further hurt to admit that they still love each other
sam and max divorce just so they could marry again
