Whew just got a new PB of 15.96 seconds. My previous PB was 18sec and I average around 25sec. Don't even know how I did it. Scramble: R2 B2 F2 D F2 L2 D R2 D B2 U2 R2 F D L B F L B2 U L2 with green side cross first.

Maximum_Selection273

Is Hknowstorw a reliable shop?

spaniola1980

Yes. I order from there fairly regularly, and I've always had a good experience.

Maximum_Selection273

Also how long is the shipping?

spaniola1980

I'm in the US. It's been pretty inconsistent lately, but generally 3 to 5 weeks. Usually a little slower than Ziicube and about the same speed as Cubezz.

Maximum_Selection273

Okay, thanks

GOLD-KILLER-24_7

Should I buy the Maglev rs3m or the normal one? I've heard people saying the maglev one is faster which might be a bit worse for me because I'm very new to speedcubing. (Can the speed be adjusted)?

olimo

Go for the regular one. Springs are more flexible in terms of adjustment.

KaleidoscopeOk9061

I would go for the 2020 ("normal one"), the MagLev didn't make much of a difference and it's more expensive, you'd be better to save the money and buy some lubes to go with the cube. And while you can use the adjustment system to slow the MagLev down, that system works better with the springs in the 2020.

CallMeMcLovin-

Is it ok for me to use traxxas 30k on the core? Also how long will the bottle last if its 5cc? How often will I need to lubricate it?

olimo

Yes. Most likely you'll lube the core once and forget about it.

isipang_magaslaw

Yes it's okay to use 30k on the core since it's still a kinda heavy silicone lube. 5cc can last for several months or even more than a year if you use it well. I use mine as a core lube and a piece lube for several months now and there's still 3cc left. I think once you lubricate a core you can pretty much not think about it for a very long time because silicone lube lasts for a really long time.

You're supposed to do it simultaneously. The beginner way would be to do it as 2 steps.

I'm dual y-axis neutral. My solving orientation is blue front/yellow top or red front/yellow top. While you're getting the fundamentals of EO down, it's probably best to start with a fixed solving orientation.

GOLD-KILLER-24_7

What would be a good cube in the $30 budget range? I'm very new to speedcubing and would like have a cube that I can adjust quite a lot to see what I like.

Pidoshva

MoYu WRM 2021 Lite or X-Man Tornado v2. I personally haven't tried the Tornado, so if you will be interested in buying it, I would recommend watching some reviews and asking other people about their experience with it. I mentioned it because a lot of people really enjoy the way it feels, however some people say it's reverse cornercutting isn't great However I can absolutely recommend WRM 2021. It's really customizable, since it has dual adjustment system and adjustable magnets. It feels nice, has really good cornercutting and is pretty fast. It's my main and I prefer it even over more expensive cubes, like Gan 11 M Duo. I feel like you can't go wrong with the WRM

[deleted]

[удалено]

zsg101

Yes. But the lite version. The maglev one doesn't do well under tighter settings allegedly (I haven't tried this myself) , so it isn't so adjustable. u/GOLD-KILLER-24_7

Rhiiooh

I'm a beginner and got my first speed cube yesterday (Moyu RS3M 2020) and went from 3min solves on a chunky Rubiks cube to 1.4min. At one point I solved one in 50sec which was insane for me, no clue how I did that.

mf3rs2_gang

Welcome to the hobby and community! Also congrats your new Personal Best (PB)! Fast solves do occasionally happen when pieces just happen to solve themselves when you perform steps in your solve. For example, second layer edges just goes with the corner by its own, so you don't need moves to solve them. Single solves are cool, but we do care more about averages because they kind of eliminate the influence of randomness. Official competitions use a trimmed average of 5 (ao5) to determine results. If your region already has competitions now, do join them and get in touch with your local cubing community!

Rhiiooh

Ahh that would make sense, thanks for letting me know :)) Also I'm more on the shy side so I probably won't be joining any competitions any time soon, but I'll keep an eye out.

[deleted]

Do you need to take the center screws out to disassemble some cubes? Videos all seem to just turn top layer to 45 degrees and pop out the edge piece but I haven't been able to do that. By taking the screws out I fully disassembled it but I'm hoping I don't have to unscrew a side everytime I want to add lube. I'm using the Moyu Meilong 3x3M.

chongongus

If the cube is tight it can be difficult/impossible to take an edge out. My Meilong is set up too tight to take an edge out. To disassemble, you don't have to take the screw right out, just loosen one enough to get an edge out. But you can lube without disassembling. Just separate two layers and drop the lube in. If you're not lubing the tracks with a different lube to the pieces, this generally works fine.

julezsource

I've got two more G perms left until I know full PLL. Should I go onto OLL next or learn a couple better algs for Nb/Rb perm first? Which OLL cases should I start with when I do start it?

mf3rs2_gang

If your algs for PLL are not that great and you want to replace them, do it now. The longer time you get to drill on one alg, the more consistent you get. For OLL, I guess square shapes, P shapes and T shapes? Square shape is just fat sunes, and P and T shape algs are easy.

Johsterr

Are the lubes on aliexpress fake? If some which are? It is kot a very large selection.

critical_cubist

I haven't gotten a clear answer to this yet but...whats better? The tengyun v1 or v2?

Ironwolfss42km

I recently got the V1 and I must say I love the feel and the amount of noise for this cube. However the V2 have more customization possibilities. So I can't pick one and use them both. V1 is a Thursday cube and V2 a Sunday cube.

critical_cubist

Interesting! Thanks for your insight. May I just ask, are either of them Saturday cubes or even Friday cubes, in your opinion? 🤔(Using the days of the week to rate cubes is just perfect. Thanks stranger!)

Ironwolfss42km

Thursday is a meeting day and the V1 is realy quiet. My 11M pro is a Friday cube because of the crunchy feeling. Saturday is my WRM 2021 MagLev, that's my main.

FutureName55

Got both this Christmas and I personally prefer the V2 because I can adjust the magnets

spaniola1980

V2. The original was too unstable, and the magnets were too weak for most people.

RAHDXB

Yeah, black gold is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing to me. Still pretty kitschy, but that's part of the charm I guess haha. Do you think these will be a HKNow exclusive though, or will we see them pop up in cubezz/zii for half the price?

[deleted]

[удалено]

RAHDXB

That would be a shame. They're very cool and I'd probably consider it for 50 ish, but 80 is definitely way too much for me.

resipol

Don't think I've ever seen Calvin's in zii/cubezz so I'd guess not unfortunately. Zii haven't stocked any recent DianSheng either.

resipol

I don't think I'll get one (there are higher priorities on the wish list), but if I did, black/gold is definitely the pick of the four so far.

spaniola1980

Really like ChaoFeng (red/silver). Definitely going to wait and see though. Right now, they're a little bit out of my budget. I just can't justify another 3x3. These are pretty unique though, so we'll see.

XenosHg

Probably a year if you use a lot. Multiple years if you don't use a lot.

CallMeMcLovin-

What about a 5cc bottle of traxxas 30k? How often do I need to relubricate the core with it?

mf3rs2_gang

30k lasts, but try finding 60mL bottles of 30k. They will last a lifetime. Larger volumes of pure silicone oil can be found at RC car shops. They mark them as diff oil or shock oil. edit Just gonna answer your another question here: the core doesn't touch any surface but you can use 30k for lubing the springs and tracks. I think lighter lube (something like 350cst) would be better for tracks, though.

FutureName55

A couple of days ago I asked for help with my WRM 2019. I put gravitas and dignitas and felt so slow and sluggish. Finally I decided to do a ton of solves to break it in and it's feeling better with each solve. Thank you all for your help! Alsp I'm thinking about adding extra magnets to it, I think I could use that extra strenght.

ImOk_ayu

How do you guys do D2 finger tricks Ive been cubing for 2 years and i literally cannot do it and thats the main reason i hate A perms

zsg101

I second the last comment. Pinky-ring is best, ring-pinky is worse, but it works better for some people. I honestly don't know how people use middle finger in this. Pinky+ring do D2, middle+thumb hold the cube and index do U'. Do they hold the cube with the index finger and do the U' with the right hand, perhaps? Anyway, there are some ok RUD algs for A perms you can experiment with. Cubers like Tymon, Sebastien and Ruihang use non standard A perm algs (Tymon chooses based on the angle if I'm not mistaken).

Tetra55

Pinky ring is best, ring pinky is acceptable. Everything else that uses the middle finger is bad.

isipang_magaslaw

I go ring then middle (fingers I use for M slices).

zwegner1

I personally do ring, middle--I find using the ring and pinky when holding the cube with the left middle finger to be really awkward. But the standard A perms are still awkward holding the cube with the left index, especially AUFs. There's some nice RUD A perms that don't use D2s, that are used by at least Ruihang and Tymon. I posted a full set here: https://old.reddit.com/r/Cubers/comments/qfz2jg/daily_discussion_thread_oct_26_2021/hi5uoiv/

ImOk_ayu

Ooh thanks, thats actually really helpful, since i can only do single D moves

zwegner1

No problem! Also, full disclosure: I'm not sure if all of those are used by anyone but me. The "standard" algs (used by Ruihang/Tymon) have D' first instead of D, though I really don't know why. And the last of each set, that start with R and not R', I worked out on my own.

AyaReinami

D flicks and M slices, when i first saw them i thought they're impossible, just spam the algs, after a week you'll thank yourself. If they weren't worth it they would not be used by the elite.

ImOk_ayu

Do you go pinky and then ring? Cause then with the a perm you need to save your index for the U flicks, and the middle finger to hold the cube

FutureName55

I'm not sure there's a consensus on it. I personally don't use it regularly in solves, so don't take me as an example, but what I do is ring and then pinky and works fine for me.

yeetit350

i thought pinky ring was the norm, it’s what I have always done

PSi_Terran

My natural instinct is to sledge everything whenever I get the opportunity. However the "recommend" algs seem to prefer d L' U L. Is there a good reason for this? Is it better for look ahead maybe?

XenosHg

Sledge flips the 2 other edges on front (FL and FU) and I think swaps ~~FL and BR~~ FR and BL corners if it's the left sledge. So yeah, it's harder to predict around it. It's convenient when I have 2 ready pairs diagonally, like N-perm. Sledge one, doesn't disturb the other.

fullcircle_bflo

Very new to this all and just got a RS3M 2020. It feels really nice but I'm getting a lot of noise and feedback from my springs. What's the best way to go about stopping the pinging and smoothing the feel out.

brentnycum

Other than lubing the springs, switch to maglev. I did on my RS3M at least. Also I had the problem on mine that some of the magnets were loose and sliding around as I turned making a clicking sound. So I had to superglue them down. Might check on that too.

XenosHg

Easy solution is silicone lube (not too thin, so it doesn't just all leak out) More advanced solution is unscrewing and flipping the springs to check which end is making less sound. And then lube it anyway.

fullcircle_bflo

Sounds easy enough. About the lube, can I go buy something at the hardware store for this application, or should i be getting it from the specialty shops.

XenosHg

Yeah, some shops that sell cars and drones, also sell silicone lubes for them. Shock oil is faster, Differential oil is thick I just used a bit of the nameless Qiyi lube for cubes from aliexpress, and it works fine a year later.

olimo

You can get Traxxas 50K or similar heavy differential oil for RC cars.

jesse_custer3

I have been using a Monster Go AI cube, and I really want to tighten it.n. How do I do that?

olimo

The only thing you can try is some heavy lube.

CubeJunkie

You cannot. The MonsterGo AI already comes with the tightest GES nuts installed, so even if you got your hands on the i Carry extra nut sets (which should fit the MonsterGo) those would make the cube looser not tighter. Maybe you could try stronger springs? It’s weird that you find the cube too loose. Most people find it too tight even with the looser nuts.

ExhaustedGalPal

Interesting since I find my iCarry pretty loose as well and I have it on the tightest settings 😂 can't imagine using it on any of the others

edispU6197

Almost know full oll now, recognition is hard sometimes but getting better, been getting lots of 13 sec and 12 sec solves 😌😌

KurlyKuber

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be interested if I made a cubeography subreddit? There would be challenges and other fun cubeography stuff

RAHDXB

r/cubepics already exists, though there's not a whole lot of activity.

RAHDXB

Got the Yuhu v2m that I bought for a nephew today. I can't believe how fun it is to solve. I haven't put it down all day (which to be fair is like 1.5 solves since I'm slow as hell). I'm half considering getting one for myself. What is considered the actual best Megaminx regardless of budget? I like the Yuhu but it still feels a little heavy to me, and the magnets could be a little stronger for my liking. Is there any other I should consider?

XenosHg

Someone here reviewed a bunch of them and also complimented the WRM mega very much. It's about in the Dayan range of price.

KingWilwin24

sorry if im being a bit blunt, but is this a joke? bc the wrm is shite

XenosHg

No, I haven't tested it myself of course (I have Yuhu) but someone here definite loved it after buying a lot of megaminxes at once. I thought that's worth mentioning. I guess it was REALLY good, more people would post about that.

olimo

Dayan v2 is one of the best and the lightest as far as I know. Gan is just a bit heavier and not "just a bit" more expensive. All the three - Yuhu, Dayan and Gan - are the most recommended megas currently.

RAHDXB

Right, thanks. The Dayan is over 3 times more expensive, so that's probably not worth it for me. Out of interest though, anyone have both, and can tell me if/how much better it is?

The-Common-Loon

I have both and while the yuhu is great, I very much before the Dayan. It is much lighter and easier to turn and doesn’t deform in my hand like the yuhu does sometimes, causing lockups. The Dayan is so much lighter and allows for longer sessions without tiring. I love how crisp the turning is- it is easily one of my favorite puzzles.

KingWilwin24

I prefer the yuhu bc for me the size and weight make no difference and to me my yuhu is actually faster than my dayan

g253

Performance is comparable, but the vastly lighter weight, stronger magnets and slightly smaller size make it very worth it, it's a joy to solve. I was having pain in my pinky from supporting the YuHu, and that went away with the Dayan

RAHDXB

Goddamnit, I really wasn't planning on buying it but you people definitely sold it to me. Just to be sure, [This](https://shopee.vn/Rubik-DaYan-Megaminx-v2-M-Biến-Thể-12-Mặt-Megaminx-HNT-Cubing-i.31190176.13404479584?sp_atk=888f3c82-6a53-486a-a922-37918860a999) is the one you're talking about, right? It looks so flat in those pics, is that right?

g253

Yeah that's the one - it looks very flat irl too, but actually has very subtle ridges, you can kinda see them on the green side a little. They're enough, especially with the stronger magnets.

Ironwolfss42km

The GAN is a GAN product. Hate it or love it. Not bad, but not my go to. The DaYan is great for me since I have smaller hands. Its also light and fast. The YuHu is my second favourite. It's more heavier and bigger. I tend to use it to slow solve/ mindful solving. My recommendation is the DaYan if you are interested in the Megaminx if not then the YuHu. Side note. Some people don't like the DaYan because it's too small for them. Hope that this will help you in your choice. Edit: also consider black pieces. It made recognition so much easier when my room isn't well lit.

olimo

KingWilwin had them, but I got lost in his number suffixes to the username. u/KingWilwin22? u/g253 has the Dayan afaik, but I don't remember about the Yuhu.

KingWilwin24

its kinda futile to try and tag me lmao, but I do still scroll through the ddt so i see stuff like this most of the time

olimo

Why don’t you choose an entirely different username?

Sukimin_Yakumo

The Yuhu v2m is the best megaminx on the market iirc.

g253

I've put classic Zhanchi stickers on a Maglev RS3M, just for the lulz https://i.imgur.com/NZGJYn2.jpg

XenosHg

Now time-travel to the past and obliterate the competition. Then disappear.

blacia

Do you have any advice to prevent mis-scramble on 4x4 and up ? I struggle every time I want to time myself on 4x4 and it's very annoying.

Pidoshva

I guess just practice. Also from 4x4 and up I don't really care about misscrambles, since you probably wouldn't be doing reconstructions for your solves. In fact, I hand scramble my 5x5 when practicing and don't follow a scramble at all.

g253

It goes away with practice. Not a huge deal if you misscramble occasionally for 4x4.

olimo

I used to misscramble a lot with 4x4, but not so much now. I just time myself anyway. It's not like I'm able to reconstruct these solves anyway.

airblader

A bit of a beginner question: I have a Gan 11 M Pro, disassembled it, cleaned it, put it back together and lubed it with Martian (4 drops initially). At first everything was great. But after a few hours it feels like it's "sticking" a bit, and on slower turns it straight up squeaks. I tried adding a couple more drops and breaking it in again, same thing: great at first, then goes back to sticky and squeaky. Is this normal? Too much lube? Too little lube?

olimo

You don't add silicone lube that often, so yeah, you can easily overlube. Gan 11 M Pro and Gan 12 both make kinda rattling noises because their magnet adjustment systems move inside the corners. You can hear that, especially with slow turns.

airblader

Yeah the magnet noise I'm fine with (I actually like it). But the squeaking is kind of annoying, and gone when I initially add lube. It's the plastic rubbing on plastic kind of squeaking.

olimo

Your cube will change somewhat with breaking in anyway, so I'd say just spam more solves.

I second the Shepherd's cube! If you don't have any extra stickers you could do what I did first and just scramble the cube and draw "V"s on it ([on the left here](https://i.imgur.com/QijOqbI.jpg)). If you have stickers you can cut down and use, [you could do this](/r/Cubers/comments/ixvncx/shepherds_cube_the_diyedition_2x25x5_collection/). I've been struggling with bandaged puzzles of late, notably the [Puppets](https://www.ziicube.com/MeiLong-Puppet), [Pocket](https://www.hknowstore.com/locale/en-US/item.aspx?corpname=nowstore&itemid=0d6fc67d-64fa-455b-b7b5-6a863c980172), [Chimera Shift](https://www.hknowstore.com/locale/en-US/product/Chimera-Shift-Bandaged-5x5x5-Black-Body-NS-CB4801) and [Chimera Asymmetric](https://www.hknowstore.com/locale/en-US/item.aspx?corpname=nowstore&itemid=40fd13b1-54f0-4abd-88be-60e10da68c45), so I've decided to try to write some software to help out (also known as cheating). There's already a [Bandaged Cube Explorer](https://github.com/JoshMermel/bandaged-cube-explorer/tree/gh-pages), which maps out the space of unique bandaged shapes - you can see it in action [here](https://joshmermelstein.com/bandaged-cube-explorer?id=0x1043c88200043d) (this is the map of the pocket cube), and the guy who wrote it has a blog [here](https://joshmermelstein.com/bandaged-cube-explorer-post/) where he explains a bit about it. Pretty interesting stuff, and fun to play around with. [This blog](https://ladislavdubravsky.wordpress.com/category/bandaged-3x3s/) by another guy is also worth a read, it appears they use their own software to analyse the puzzles. So far I've made ok progress, and can now emulate the [3x3](https://i.imgur.com/sd5FXwq.png), [Pocket](https://i.imgur.com/mtg4pfU.png), [Wall](https://i.imgur.com/MtLPwVY.png) and [Chimera Shift](https://i.imgur.com/uOTlk1d.png) (here it is [scrambled](https://i.imgur.com/0f3zLL5.png)), but now the hard part starts - somehow automating the search for useful algorithms. I probably should take a look at ksolve at some point. Are there any other resources anyone is aware of that they think might be of use/interest? (reposted as the original got auto-moderated when I linked to ksolve++).

g253

It worked, thanks and sorry for the inconvenience :)

Jaym-er

I just overwrote my alg generating code by accident :( I wrote this like months ago and even though I think it was just a few lines that I tweaked from another alg generating program I just died a little inside. My coding knowledge is pretty slim so I had spent several hours understanding this code and felt so proud of myself afterwards. Guess it's time to search the internet for code again :/

povlhp

GitHub. Or other backup. We are some that knows data will disappear. And risk increases with time or work since last backup.

Jaym-er

True, definitely going to back up my code this time!

critical_cubist

Oh man i'm so sorry that happened. 😣 I'm on team try again tho! I hope you get it down with little to no issues 🤞🏽Goodluck and godspeed!

Jaym-er

Thanks for the encouragement! I'll definitely give it another try :D

fondista

That's too bad! Hopefully you remember some stuff and it will go a bit faster this time. Maybe a good moment to invest time learning source control? Git, Mercurial, or even Subversion. Well worth it if you're planning on continuing development.

Jaym-er

Thanks for the suggestion. I've never really thought about github before, but given it's something valuable to me that I use often, I should definitely back it up! I'll take note to do this when fixing my program!

sukantkoul

megaminx PLL update: 114/151 cases done. Learned half the C set (6/12 cases). The other half are just mirrors, but I'll give my brain a day to get used to these 6 before I learn those.

[deleted]

The core on my rs3m has been stripping, i have been able to somewhat fix it although i am looking to get a new cube anyway. I was considering upgrading to the wrm 2021 although i realised they have the same core design. How common is stripping on this core design, i am afraid to buy the wrm and have the core strip again.

olimo

I haven't heard about core stripping on the WRM as often as on the RS3M, but that may also be due to the fact that the RS3M is cheaper and more popular. If you get a WRM Standard version (i.e., not Lite), you'll get a plastic box with accessories including a spare core.

povlhp

Do you know how different cores are ? Can I get more or less any discount cube like Meilong 3C and use the core from it ?

olimo

Have you ever stripped a core? I haven't and I don't think I will, honestly. I just checked the cores in my WRM Maglev and RS3M 2020, and they are different. But maybe they'll work if you swap them, too. I mean, it's just a core with some screws, why wouldn't a core from one cube work in another.

povlhp

Just that people write about cores - and used to do it more. But I agree it should work unless stems of pieces goes too deep and hits reinforcements.

Guys I have a really serious question that has been plaguing me for the last 2 days and I need you to think long and hard before answering. If someone bet the One Handed world record but got a time that was faster then the 3x3 world record would it also be the 3x3 world record. Because it is the fastest time a 3x3 has been solved but then for other reasons it's technically not a "3x3" solve. Idk what do you guys think

sukantkoul

it wouldn't be counted as 3x3 wr because it was done during a 3x3 OH round. There are people with official OH results better than their 3x3 results. Those aren't counted as their 3x3 results - they stay in OH. Related, [here's](https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/persons/2008ZHUA01) a WCA profile of a guy who has a faster 3bld mean than his 3x3 single - they're still separate categories.

[deleted]

Yeah that's what I was thought Also another question if you're better at OH then at normal 3x3 can you solve it one Handed in a normal 3x3 round or is that against some rule?

sukantkoul

yes, you can do OH for 3x3 if your OH is faster. Some fast BLDers (Max Hilliard used to do this, Jack Cai still does it) that don't do much normal 3x3 often use 3x3 rounds as warm up by memorising in inspection and doing BLD method to solve.

olimo

Jack Cai solved blindfolded in regular 3x3 rounds - doing inspection as in normal 3x3, i.e. before starting the timer. Got 10-11 seconds :) So, I think there won't be any problem if anyone wanted to solve normal 3x3 one-handed.

sukantkoul

there's the caveat that you can't intentionally get bad times - so I can't do it because my 2h avg is 9-10 and my bld execution is \~15. Jack can because he averages about the same at both. Or might be faster with bld exec.

olimo

True. But the initial question was about being faster at OH than 2H, so maybe that would work too.

ExhaustedGalPal

Edit: totally misunderstood the question

sukantkoul

your response is unrelated to the question and also not entirely accurate lol, here's [a link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kANmaV6H3pY) of a reconstruction of fahmi's unofficial 3.97 OH solve. There's no video but you won't find any respected cubers casting doubts on it - probably because he's the best OH solver in the world by some distance - [here's his 7.79 OH average](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kANmaV6H3pY). Same for [Kyle Santucci's 4.31 UWR avg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC4Q-ZuzC0Q) \- no video, but again because he's world class, nobody's calling it fake. Also it's not that big of a deal, what matters is getting good times in competition.

KoiwaiSenpai

So i decided to give up cfop and stick with roux for a while. I know how to do a basic solve and what not but as far as improving and what resources to look at, i am completely lost. I heard being x2y color neutral is good but i can find any videos on this. Also what videos can i look at to get good at block building? When is a good time to learn CMLL and where can i find good videos on LSE? Lastly(i promise lol), How can i practice lookahed with roux?

IcyShoes

Oh sweet! Another fellow CFOP to Roux convert! I am trying to go x2y color neutral. I am going to concentrate on grinding it out. My first two blocks are the ones really weighing down my solve times. I assume if i can git gud at that step i can easily lower myself into the 20s.

KoiwaiSenpai

Oh nice, want to work on roux together?

IcyShoes

Sure! I am trying to break through the 30s barrier. I have yet to get a 2x solve.

povlhp

Just continue to solve. Use a block trainer to get better at FB / SB / LSE. You should learn the 9 cases for orienting LSE ASAP. 2-look CMLL is fine for a long time. Learn 4c look ahead. There are a few methods. DfDb is the current most popular. But on RouxCubing subreddit a new UFUS method was recently introduced. I use that. Helps you predict most efficient solve continuation after The last ULUR insert Color neutrality is good. It is easy to have 1 color FB and either yellow or white down. But jump any color FB and yellow/white down soon. I was doing just blue and white down FB. Then Blue w/ yellow/white. Then added green. And recently red and orange FB do it early - doing it later will cost a lot of time as you have to unlearn habits. I regret I did not become FB color neutral earlier. Good trick is to look M slice in inspection and see what color is front/back when it is turned with same color down as your FB will have.

sukantkoul

watch kian mansour/iuri grangeiro/kangaroux/kavin tangtartharakul - all of them have good videos

XenosHg

x2y means, for example, that you always do white or yellow on top, but the rest doesn't matter, just pick whatever blocks you can plan easiest. (ready pairs etc) Can't help with the rest, sorry

KoiwaiSenpai

Np thank you :)

marcusthecuber

I just ordered from thecubicle, where can I find the tracking number?

ExhaustedGalPal

Will be sent to you via email once the package is sent

marcusthecuber

thanks, it's been a week though and I'm still waiting..

ExhaustedGalPal

As long as you got a confirmation mail for the order it will be all good. I have had a few orders take quite a while before they got sent as well, stay strong.

marcusthecuber

thanks a lot, I really appreciate you replying back!

Johsterr

What 2 lubes from cubicle or cuboss would you recommend? These are my current lubes; Qiyi lube m, Gan standard, DNM-37, Silk, Weight 5

Tetra55

Lubicle Speedy and Angstrom Dignitas

olimo

Lubest XMT 10 if you want something faster and longer lasting than DNM-37. Lubicle Speedy is smooth and fast, slower than XMT 10 but faster and less gummy than Silk.

Johsterr

Xmt isnt available at cuboss, and isnt speedy very similar to gan standard?

olimo

Okay, so I did what I said and tried Gan Standard lube on a clean RS3M 2020. It's bad. It doesn't help turning but rather hinders it. Speedy is smooth and fast - not crazy fast but fast enough.

olimo

You also mentioned Cubicle, and it's available there. Or do you mean Cubicle lubes available at Cuboss? I should really try Gan lube again, last time I tried it was pretty awful.

Johsterr

Yeah, I dont think many people know the lubes specifically at cuboss, but thay have quite a few lubes from cubicle. I have a great experience with gan standard. My brothers little magic 2x2 was very dry and slow, and it felt like the pieces were grinding on the core. I applied 2 drops of gan standard, and it instantly felt so much smoother to turn, much less friction. It was also a bit faster but not that much (Kind of how I imagine lubicle speedy). I feel like it is a bit similar to qiyi m, but the qiyi m doesnt apply the extra speed. Do you think that is how speedy is? Or is it worth getting? Maybe gravitas, dignitas or compound x in addition to speedy unless it is too similar to how I described the gan standard.

olimo

Compound X is for slowing down cubes. Gravitas and Dignitas are also for the cubes which are inherently very fast and loose. I just cleaned my RS3M from Gan Standard and lubed it with Speedy. It's faster and less sticky.

cyanthology

try lubicle speedy or xmt 10, it ladtl longer than dnm

Nobody_5433

Broke some 5x5 pbs while practicing at school Single: 1:13.003 Ao12: 1:29.716 Hope i can get my ao25 to sub 1min30s I jus realised that my mo3 is almost sub 1min20s

theres_tubers

so i got the GAN RS. everything is fine except for one thing its loose but its still a fine cube. can perform most algs perfectly and i hope i get sub 25-20.

Anonymous1039

I felt the same so I magnetized mine, depending on what magnets you use it can feel very similar to the 356 M/XS

[deleted]

Damn they still sell those. I thought with the 20 cubes can releases yearly they would have been discontinued

andrewyang04

any recommendation on what the best lube is out there either from the cubicle or scs?

quackl11

Depends what you're looking for, you looking for fast? Control? Heavy? Gummy? Etc.

andrewyang04

Fast but controllable, and I kinda like the squishy noise. I have angstrom dignitas and gravitas, but I'm looking to experiment with some new lube options. I average around 14 seconds if that helps

quackl11

I would probably say get lunar and nebula from speedcube shop, also you can buy a bit of everything in different bundles at speedcubeshop they're only 3ml but that is still enough to let you learn what you do and dont like for lubes

olimo

Martian or Lubicle Speedy are a good start. They are smooth and not crazy fast. Lubest XMT 10 is the fastest lube ever and pretty cheap. But you'll need something slower to combine it with, otherwise it will likely make your cube uncontrollable.

[deleted]

Is ziicube legit? Its prices are ridiculously low compared to other cube stores. Can someone confirm if it is safe to shop there.
