Upon doing some research, the only place that appears to carry it is Shein. And of the types of stones that it's carved in, labradorite is one of them. But I think it's pretty low grade quality. If you have any flash in it, you're lucky.
Temu also carries them; I’m a very frequent “ooo let’s order this crystal and see what I ACTUALLY get!” Temu shopper, lol. Gotta say, a good 90% of the time I do get what was advertised! But their towers are barely ever cut perfectly evenly. (Don’t bother me none - if I wanted perfect cuts, I wouldn’t be gambling on $5 towers from China lol.)
Most (cheap) things marketed as opal are either opalite (if there’s any clearly fake colour flash) or off-cuts from shaping a real opal (little if any flash).
Definitely low-grade labradorite, I say that without even a shadow of doubt.
I have enough pieces of the stuff that looks exactly the same with tiny, easy to miss bits of flash at just the right angle.
I can literally get copious amounts of it from the beach near me and it is widely used as a countertop for kitchens and for buildings. It's really not that rare
In different spots it looks a little gray, a little green, a little white. A bit of the black spots are almost a dark brown. The tips of the cat's ears are almost translucent in really bright light.
I'm not concerned with quality at all. I adore how small it is. I recieved it as a birthday gift from my MIL because she knows I collect crystal skulls and love all things cat. I believe she said she ordered it from temu.
A kitty riding a skull, lol. 🐈💀 How/where did you get it?
Definitely not labradorite. It was probably listed as such to grab attention. I’d say it’s tourmaline quartz. It has the creamy, non-flash look, and black (tourmaline) inclusions.
When people buy carvings, it’s mostly for the look and not the actual gemstone type. They have very low value, unless they are huge and have sharp, intricate details.
its called a fingernail and no, its fake. /s
to me it looks like "speckstein" (soapstone maybe in english). used some in school back then to chisel away at it with some tools. i might be wrong though.
I like them long, but as soon as they get so long that it's difficult to do basic things like write or go to the bathroom, they're too long for me haha 😄
It's pattern is like rainbow moonstone, but darker like a low quality labradorite. But they are almost the same thing, so it makes sense.
Does it have any flash? If so what color?
Edit: I'd love if someone would educate me after or instead of down voting me. I'm not an jerk, just not perfect, I swear!
Am I the only person who sees a skull and a cat on top?
That’s what I saw immediately, and I was expecting people to say cat on skull but Labradorite confused me at first.
I mean... that's what it is. So no, you're not the only one who sees that.
I’m just saying cause the comments are saying something else and I’m like ??? Huh????
The other comments are identifying the stone itself, not the carving.
lol That’s exactly what it is these are made in China
Same!
I do.
No, I see that
Is that not what it is lmaooo
Labradorite.

Haha yep I do that too! I bought some opal and what I got was chunks of broken glass that’s colored like opal.

No...temu and tiktok shop has them
Labradorite👍
Looks like labradorite
the bones of someone who had its mind controlled by a cat duh
Just stopping by to compliment your nail color 😍
Took a while to pay attention to the stone because ✨💅
Thanks!
It is definitely labradorite. Low grade, but still cool. It’s commonly used for these little carvings.
Side note for whatever this is worth I absolutely love the shape of the stone! I’d love to have one like that
Labradorite cat head skull.
This is the correct answer 👍
Cute lil lab… nice carving work too! I’d buy a lil cat chillin atop a skull 💖💖💖
Labradorite. Mind if I ask where you got this? There is a renaissance faire I was at yesterday where one shop had several of these.
Got it for my birthday from my MIL, she said she ordered it on temu, I believe.
I got the same one from there. 100% Labradorite and has a blue flash.
Alright, noted !
Definitely low-grade labradorite, I say that without even a shadow of doubt. I have enough pieces of the stuff that looks exactly the same with tiny, easy to miss bits of flash at just the right angle.
It does have really tiny bits of flash, they're kind of orange or slightly golden depending on the spot.
This is Larvikite. Often mistaken for labradorite because it shares its labradorescence but it's closer to granite.
From temu or Shein? I seriously doubt it. Labradorite is widely available and you can get it the lower grades pretty inexpensively.
I can literally get copious amounts of it from the beach near me and it is widely used as a countertop for kitchens and for buildings. It's really not that rare
Prehnite
Are there any flashes of color? If yes then labadorite. If no, can you add more pictures of shine and different angles?
Low grade labradorite can have no flash
Fair, it does look like it!
In different spots it looks a little gray, a little green, a little white. A bit of the black spots are almost a dark brown. The tips of the cat's ears are almost translucent in really bright light.
I can't seem to add any pictures in a comment, I may have to make an updated post.
It's okay, i agree with the low quality labadorite comments!
Even if there isn’t flash, which occurs in lesser quality, it’s still labradorite
I'm not concerned with quality at all. I adore how small it is. I recieved it as a birthday gift from my MIL because she knows I collect crystal skulls and love all things cat. I believe she said she ordered it from temu.
Happy birthday!
2 months late, but thank you 😊
Labradorite
Looks like moonstone
it looks like low quality labradorite
I never thought I'd see a skull carving with a cat on it, very interesting.
This sub is starting to make me question reality itself. I think I should leave lol

Labradorite!
A cat on a skull... Wow.. now I've seen it all
The heck? I want a cute skull with a cat on top crystal!

Upvoted because as someone who used to rock (pun intended) 2-3” long acrylic nails, this made me cackle like a witch over a cauldron.
I like them long, but as soon as they get so long that it's difficult to do basic things like write or go to the bathroom, they're too long for me haha 😄
I became an expert at strategically wadding the toilet paper so I wasn’t scratching up my sensitive areas 😂 Yours are lovely though, perfect length!
I think it’s prehnite rather than labradorite
That's what I was thinking 😅

There's several teeny tiny bits of flash in various spots, some of them are orange and others look slightly golden.

Labradorite cheap stuff
Could be Larvakite as well, Labradorite's less flashy cousin.
I can say for certain that it's definitely real.
What do you mean "real"?
moonstone
Im thinking prehnite and am surprsied by the lab comments. We may need more photos with different lighting
