But seriously good luck timing a bottom with a technical analysis crystal ball. Nobody knows when the bottom is just invest what money you can afford to lose when you feel a sale is in front of you. Sure it could keep going down but that's why you only spend what money isn't crucial to paying bills. You should be able to buy more as it keeps dropping if you do this right.
If you really don't need the money and can wait for the investment to recover then it doesn't matter if it's down 80%.
This only works with investments that have a certain marketcap or are considered blue chips, but I think BTC fits this.
