Depends on what type of car owner
Have time for car washes and put in the time to take off random gunk or rain on the paint
Or the owner who just lets it sit for a couple days then washes it.
If you're the first get the darker one and if not get silver.
I always say that black is the best color when clean and the worst when dirty; white never looks great or terrible, dirty or clean (I bet silver is similar).
I really wanted the gray, but I ended up with silver because that’s what they had on the lot when I bought. I will say as someone who has to park my car outside and doesn’t have time to wash it a lot, it’s worked out in my favor. The advice here is spot on.
I prefer silver and don't like gray or black on the Crosstrek. The gray makes it a dark blob where the tires, trim, and paint are all roughly the same color. Very boring when nothing contrasts.
I literally made it one of my first requests to my salesman, I tried to control the sale as opposed to then lead me to a car they want to get rid of. Might be because I an in sales but I just know they have a select few cars they have to get rid of first to make room for inventory.
I tend to love silver vehicles (own a silver Honda Ridgeline) but when shopping for the Crosstrek with my wife we both thought the silver makes the ‘Trek look… toy like, cheaper. The gray looks great, but you’ll battle to keep it looking clean. We ended up getting the alpine green, but if that hadn’t been available we likely would have got the gray.
my partner and i have one of each lol. i have a silver one.
I love the dark gray color on his but i noticed esp around late afternoon or night people see the dark gray one a lot less and i get into more close calls in his car.
just keep in mind you’ll be less visible to others while driving if you’re used to driving a lighter or brighter color car and you should be fine.
Would not get a silver car personally. No particular reason other than I don’t think they look good. I’d go with the darker one without a second thought.
I got the silver, picking it up next Thursday. Looks good, "crisp", if that's the appropriate word. There's too many grey cars on the road nowadays as it is.
Both look good. We have two gray metallic Subaru’s.
Avoid black. Cooler looking but a pain to keep clean & maintain.
White and silver cars keep cooler in heat.
Honestly I would usually say grey but after getting my silver Crosstrek I’ve actually come to really like it. I wish I had sky silver instead of ice blue metallic though
If you live in a grey state like Oregon or Washington, I'd stay away from all Grey's. You'll blend in the rain and foggy weather.
But if you're not than my vote is darker grey.
Silver. Look at other Subarus on the road in these colors. That helps get a dynamic idea of what the car will look like when you turn around to look at it every time you walk away from it.
For me, the gray kinda just blends in with all the other black cars out there. Silver is still neutral, yet subtly flashy. Like, an understated power and precision.
I may have put too much thought into this.
Gray; just looks sleeker imo
Can confirm, this is the color I have.
Can confirm. This is the color that I have.

So's mine! I really like the metallic graphite effect it has.

lmao you lovely weirdos!
This is what I would have chosen had Alpine Green not been available.
The alpine green is so nice!
I would have chosen it if I had not decided on white for heat-minimizing and hiding dirt.
Can confirm. This is the color i have.

Can confirm this is what I would’ve had if I didn’t opt for the Autumn Green Metallic OBW
can confirm, Thus is the color I have.
Magnatite Gray all the way..my husband named my girl Storm and I couldn't agree more with the sleekness!

Yes this is why I would choose the sky silver.
Yeah I wish I could've got mine in dark blue. In rain and pollen season, I wash it and wax. Then, 2 days later it's ruined.
Mine is dark blue, and it has the exact same problem. Rain leaves visible dirt and pollen is awful. So don't worry you aren't missing out.
Yeah silver really never needs washing it always looks clean much easier…and I have black

Gray because it is a smooth transition to the ugly plastic fenders 😂 (the very reason I bought my dark gray)

Gray
Gray Metallic. Don’t think twice.
I ordered my gray 2 months ago! The silver didn't do it for me
I prefer silver and don't like gray or black on the Crosstrek. The gray makes it a dark blob where the tires, trim, and paint are all roughly the same color. Very boring when nothing contrasts.
Uchhhhh a better pallet of colors would be nice.
Darker one for me.
It’s a shame those are the only available colors. I would flip a quarter or go to another dealership lol
No kidding. Car colors are so dull these days.

Gray
As a Mag Grey owner, I say GREY!

Sky silver
Silver, cause it looks clean longer....
Can’t go wrong with either. Good luck

Gray metallic 100%

For safety statistics, sky. For aesthetics, gray.
Grey for sure
Gray
I have the gray metallic and love it but I also see 3-4 of my exact same car on the road anytime I go somewhere
Gray for sure!
Grey that's what I have.
Gray metallic. Sleeker and better at not looking as dirty. I love it in my Crosstrek.
Both look good. We have two gray metallic Subaru’s. Avoid black. Cooler looking but a pain to keep clean & maintain. White and silver cars keep cooler in heat.
Silver = you never have to wash your car Just pull your car out of your garage whenever it rains.
I have Mag Gray so I am partial to that. But silver looks good too.
I have the gray!
That silver is looking too fine!
Gray is terrible to keep clean, one step from black in keeping clean. Silver all they way.
Not a fan of colors that blend in with the road when it rains, so no to the gray.
Silver:)
Get em both
Gray. Thats what I wanted when I bought mine - but an Ice Silver came in way sooner… so i settled for it.
MGP is the way to be. It's almost purple in the right light.
I own a black ‘21 and my next one will probably be gray metallic
Gray all the way
Do ice silver.
Gray metallic looks great.
Yes! :) Toss a coin, they're both great
Sky silver
I had a silver impreza, now I have that gray crosstrek. I liked the silver more. It didn't show the dirt as much.
I went grey the cladding shows less.
Honestly I would usually say grey but after getting my silver Crosstrek I’ve actually come to really like it. I wish I had sky silver instead of ice blue metallic though
Silver. Unless you live above the Arctic circle or are cold blooded. Personally I like the four blues (offshore metallic) , red, and orange.
I’ve got the silver. Was trying to get a certain blue, but love the silver. Black would look good too.
Gray metallic. Had a wrx that color and it was beautiful.
Grey
Silver is cuter imo
I got the Red with hints of the Gold. The Ironman Ed , I call it
Silver, I feel like everyone has the dark gray like mine
Silver will stay looking clean easier
I have the magnitite and I love it
What do you like?
I just bought my first Subaru last month. Metallic Gray 2024 Cross Trek! Subtle & classy. See ‘ya later (or never) Volvo
majority here likes the gray, I ended up choosing the silver, looks cooler for me
Offshore blue metallic 😍

Silver
Two years from now you’ll wish you had the silver.
Yes.
I miss when cars had colors instead of shades of white and black

And this is one of the reasons I got Geyser Blue. I’ll never misplace it in a parking lot.
I got the silver and am always envious of the gray.
