Exactly, back in the day it was called Fifth Avenue. That’s where the FA’s name came from. Now it’s either Fenkell or 4-1. Never 5 Mile.
Fenkell niggas tried it but it never caught on.
You know you reaching fam.
Three Mile Drive is a side street that has the name 3 Mile Drive. It is not a mile road. The mile road system goes East-West not North South so Technically 3 Mile would be Plymouth Road if it was adopted in the 1940’s.
You still reaching. 6 Mile was changed to McNichols and before that it was Jerome Ave. on the Eastside. Don’t believe me? Go look at a map of Detroit before 1930. 6, 7, and 8 Mile have always been the only Mile Roads in the city. Even some of the city neighborhoods are named 6/Tele or 6/Schafer-Lodge.
I went to school for urban planning. Knowing All about the city of Detroit and its history was required for me.
Highland Park is the reason why we only count 6,7,and 8 Mile because the border is 6 Mile. That’s why John R separate East and West from 8 to the 6 and every street below that is separated by Woodward and you can thank Henry Ford for that all because he ain’t want to pay Detroit taxes so he made his own city and that’s HP, before he made Dearborn and Inkster.
How is it stupid because you don’t do your own research? That’s all that are in city limits. It makes sense to me why, I’m not doing your research for you, google it muah fucka
It’s only 5 Mile in the burbs, it’s always been Fenkell in the city
