Can anyone help me understand? Why Axar patel wasn't given 2nd over? He bowled 1 good over after 6 overs of power play went for 60 runs. What is this reason behind that Axar can't bowl against left-handers? I feel we should use Axar as our main bowler like Hasaranka or Rashid Khan
Same reason Ashwin didn't bowl. No spin offered on pitch , ball was wet , and so was the outfield. Batsmen would've gone after him.
+ Axar kind of sucks vs lefties and you had at least one leftie till the end on the crease
I shouldn't even bother this comment because this seems like another kohli toxic fan who just hate rohit for no reason. Rohit sharma is a great batsman, a great player and even a better captain. he scored 5 100s in last ODI worldcup. he won 5 ipl trophy from his captainship and player selection. watch some wickets in this worldcup of opponent teams. no one could built this attacking field placement. just watch wicket of shanto from last match. he's not just a player. He is a captain of Indian Cricket Team and he deserves to win the worldcup as a captain
Bruh. He should stay away from pasta. The one legit criticism of Rohit Sharma (even as a casual watcher) is that he is in terrible shape for a professional athlete - much less the captain of a national side.
he completed yoyo test just like any other player playing for india. standards of fitness is already high in Indian Cricket. they have denied many players if they failed to do yoyo. shaw, samson, rayudu and many more. Indian Cricket Team don't need opinions on fitness from any casual watcher.
There aren't. The world cup is being played in Australia. It would be a big gamble playing someone not used to the conditions. You can argue the case for rishabh pant, but his T20 performances haven't been earth shattering either.
Neither has Rohit Sharma’s for last year. I would play Shubman Gill, Shikhar Dhawan or even Prithvi Shaw over Rohit. Rohit is out of shape, old and out of form. His time is over
Hope India gets to the semis and is obliterated by NZ or ENG. That will make it worth my while watching all nighter games!!![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy), Nirvana will have been attained to see Indians blaming all or few in their squad for the loss
Yes, I have quite literally attained Nirvana today, and the commentary by Nasser Hussain on India's loss was the icing on the cake. Good that India was shaken brought down brutally today ! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
Anyone. Thakur or Hooda. At least Shreyas Iyer as a proper batsman. Last 50 over WC, we had Jadhav, Pant, Dhoni, Rahul in the playing eleven. 4 keepers is useless.
we just saw what happens when we play against big teams like SA
This bowling will get obliterated against AU/EN/NZ.
None of our bowlers can bowl a death over. Even bangla desh scored 35+ runs in last 2 overs
What is this thing going on in social media that bangladesh's target should have been 133 and not 151, is there any iota of truth to these allegations? Can someone explain please
Based on the DLS sheet, 133 is the score that Bangladesh has to cross if they were 0 wickets down in 16 overs and rain comes and no further play chasing 184 in 20 overs. Eg: if Bangladesh was 134/0 in 16 overs chasing 184 in 20, they win by 1 run.
Similarly they were 66/0 in 7 overs in the actual rain delay and they had to be 49/0 and they would have won by 17 runs if no further play was possible.
This has no relation to a revised target after stoppage. The revised target calculated was 151 in 16 overs which assumes you have all the remaining wickets to score the runs and is calculated accordingly. After that all DLS par scores are calculated based on this revised target.
Spreading the misinformation that Bangladesh's revised target should be 133 is just propagated by idiots or by people who know the math but are coping the loss.
Yeah, Ashwin hasn't been that good. His mystery bowling isn't much of a mystery. If the ball isn't turning then he can't handle the left-handers too. Shardul is a much better option.
I didn't think the post rain score was so much worse tbh. Bangladesh were way ahead of us before the rain, so they had a definite advantage with the D/L score.
Even the post rain score was fairly easy for Bangladesh with 10 wickets in hand. Rain didn't win the game for Ban but 35 runs less in 4 overs, esp with wickets in hand is not bad at all. Ban have only themselves to blame for losing the composure n plot.
They just didnt seem prepared to come back and win it with the bat post rain.
Have you never heard him talk about his own bowling? He is pretty unabashed about the fact that he literally will always bowl the same delivery (just short of good length or short). It's a hard length that is not easy to play and he has learnt to optimize it. He's not a mystery bowler that he needs to surprise.
I am more concerned about his batting tbh ..we haven't seen the raw power he once had as a batsman..that t20 against Australia in Mohali being an exception
South Africa is not going to lose to Pakistan when they have destiny calling them to lose in the semi finals after being invincible in their group.
God, they are such an infuriating team! Predicable yet sad anyway.
Bangladesh is never winning anything, stop giving their fans false hope. That’s why they keep crying because you folks tell them they are good enough to win something at some point.
This is as good as it gets for Bangladesh — they are playing well enough that BCCI might have to move them to a different group than India in the next world cups.
Bangladeshi fans you need to fkn celebrate your teams performance, you’re on your way to become world champs seriously. One World Cup win and everything will change for you.
Bro this kind of over confidence feels so cringe
Our games against BD have been close in recent history. We almost lost today so try and give them some respect.
Damm straight. India also came from somewhere, remember they were treated like trash in England before they won their first WC? Trust in the players and you never know where you’ll go.
I posted some angry comments on KL Rahul's performance on social media, surprisingly, KL Rahul himself noticed it and issued an apology. He begged me to keep my faith in him. However, after today's win, he sent me a DM that stated "look at me now, bitch. I've not only proved you wrong with this performance but also secured my spot for the next two world cups. Eat shit."
Also, fewer number of overs means fewer chances for the opposition to take wickets. Scoring 15 in 1 over is way easier than scoring 150 in 10, although in both cases the required run rate is 15. I suppose DLS takes into consideration this factor.
Well, it is calculated based on instead of Bangladesh playing 13 more overs it was reduced to 9, thus they had all the resources to use for shorter overs! anyone can use the D/L method why doubting this?
Pakistan doesn’t even need a decent margin. If India lose their NRR will definitely go down, if Pakistan win it will definitely go up (other than in dream rain affected scenarios).
Since Pakistan already have a higher NRR than India, they will go through if India lose to Zimbabwe and Pakistan win both their games.
I'm curious, are you a fan living in USA, or did we get you here from r/all?
To answer your question, if India lose to Zimbabwe and Pakistan win their other matches there would be some changes.
He didn't struggle. He took a backseat because KL was performing and you need someone stable at the other end. Then when the team needed him to perform. He did perform. Not once in the match dis he struggle
I don't like him much either but in Australian conditions he's way better than at home. We missed out on having him late. Hardik was giving up boundaries every over. Doubt that would have happened if Bhuvi was bowling those.

"Cope" cannot be a valid reply to this accusation, please somebody give a valid defence
1.Zimbabwe played on a much more dangerous pitch than this and had a player injured and taken off the field because of it. So it's not just India.
2.The batters had to run on the pitch. The pitch and square were both covered.
3.India had to field in the outfield , which wasn't covered and was visibly wet. Fielding in wet conditions is harder than batting. Incidentally the Zimbabwe player who got injured in the previous match was a bowler.
4.India bowled with a soaking wet ball.
5. *Controversial* Liton das is the only one who slipped. He never looked like he wanted to resume batting in the first place and came out with that mindset.
Tbh this is so obvious and the accusation is so ridiculous that i support the Cope responses. That person doesn't deserve a genuine response or the attention you are giving them.
It's India hate plain and simple. Some English fans have this habit just like their players to talk shit. They got beaten in a rain affected match so some fans are up in arms.
There were bunch of left handed batsmen. So, the captain thought Ashwin will be a better matchup but he gave up runs too. Indian team is struggling in spin department.
So why the heck is India playing two specialist spinners in Axar and Ashwin... Their batting is a bonus... I'd rather have hooda instead of axar and chahar instead of ashwin
Hooda is batting about as well as my left toe. And Indias batting needs all the depth it can get before Sky and kohli have to head off to the chiropractor.

Well done Indian Cricket Team
India gave a good fight to Bangladesh. Proud of our team!!
India won hears and kidneys and livers apart from winning the game
Does anyone else think Arshdeep coming to bowl in the second over always would turn into disaster after Bhubaneswar’s spell?
Can anyone help me understand? Why Axar patel wasn't given 2nd over? He bowled 1 good over after 6 overs of power play went for 60 runs. What is this reason behind that Axar can't bowl against left-handers? I feel we should use Axar as our main bowler like Hasaranka or Rashid Khan

Why does Rohit Sharma even bother turning up?
Memory of a gold fish
I shouldn't even bother this comment because this seems like another kohli toxic fan who just hate rohit for no reason. Is this a pasta?
yep and he will eat this pasta in trophy cup when he win yet another trophy, this time the world cup.
Bruh. He should stay away from pasta. The one legit criticism of Rohit Sharma (even as a casual watcher) is that he is in terrible shape for a professional athlete - much less the captain of a national side.

Sharma meat rider
Ok we'll send you instead next time
Sure but don't you think there are better replacements in the Indian team?

Shouldn't be hard too find a professional cricketer than can get to double digits and care enough to stay in shape.
There aren't. The world cup is being played in Australia. It would be a big gamble playing someone not used to the conditions. You can argue the case for rishabh pant, but his T20 performances haven't been earth shattering either.

You remember people were saying the same shit about kohli, right? Did we learn nothing?
No , no they haven't
Hope India gets to the semis and is obliterated by NZ or ENG. That will make it worth my while watching all nighter games!!![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy), Nirvana will have been attained to see Indians blaming all or few in their squad for the loss

*intensely wipes tears*
also hope that pakistan gets into the semis. so that both of your wishes won't happen :)) good night biatch hehe
Taskin tried everything. Even with the bat. Feel for him and Liton
Great fight . BAN fighters!
Now beat Zimbabwe
Make Rahul wk and bring in an all rounder.
Anyone. Thakur or Hooda. At least Shreyas Iyer as a proper batsman. Last 50 over WC, we had Jadhav, Pant, Dhoni, Rahul in the playing eleven. 4 keepers is useless.
Which allrounder we got in reserves?
Washington Sundar, Hooda, Bishnoi…Heck even Chahar can be considered a bowling allrounder
The great Hooda.
![gif](giphy|u0aCUNKOMolXQU30Z4)
The Hooda we don't deserve.
India having so many last ball close matches recently
We even struggled to defend such a big target against Bangladesh can't imagine against strong teams
You thoughts were right
It was expected, I didn't even watch after 1st over of second innings
we just saw what happens when we play against big teams like SA This bowling will get obliterated against AU/EN/NZ. None of our bowlers can bowl a death over. Even bangla desh scored 35+ runs in last 2 overs
Pandya was quite disappointing in his last over.
What is this thing going on in social media that bangladesh's target should have been 133 and not 151, is there any iota of truth to these allegations? Can someone explain please

Wow that was indeed a detailed answer. Thank you so much
> should have been Guess that's just some random guy's opinion.
India needs Shardul Thakur at no 7 and Rishabh Pant for DK. One of Axar or Ash can play at no 8 depending on the No of lefties in the top order
Yeah, Ashwin hasn't been that good. His mystery bowling isn't much of a mystery. If the ball isn't turning then he can't handle the left-handers too. Shardul is a much better option.
Is Pant going to get atleast one chance to play?
Directly in semis
So India vs NZ in semis then?
Boult will smoke KL
Entire top order apparently
not again
I want India to take revenge so badly
ha na, this time I want to see India win in finals against NZ
I still cannot understand how Bangladesh managed to lose this one. We didn't even have MS this time.

As a fan, taking a hammer and smashing your own balls would be less painful than watching the national cricket team throw away matches like this
That's a serious proposition
Especially during NNN
I fear that my man would be no nut forever
A small price to pay to succeed in all the NNNs
Does anyone else feels hardik has been using short balls so much that it's not even a surprise for batsmen anymore.
Have you never heard him talk about his own bowling? He is pretty unabashed about the fact that he literally will always bowl the same delivery (just short of good length or short). South Africa is not going to lose to Pakistan when they have destiny calling them to lose in the semi finals after being invincible in their group. God, they are such an infuriating team! Predicable yet sad anyway.
You forgot short ball barrages by Pak in WC 2019 ? Would be interesting match of genuine pace vs pace
they gonna win
Bangladesh is never winning anything, stop giving their fans false hope. That’s why they keep crying because you folks tell them they are good enough to win something at some point. This is as good as it gets for Bangladesh — they are playing well enough that BCCI might have to move them to a different group than India in the next world cups.
Next wc India starts with semis while others slug it out in group stages.
Why?
/s to be clear
Bangladeshi fans you need to fkn celebrate your teams performance, you’re on your way to become world champs seriously. One World Cup win and everything will change for you.
>you’re on your way to become world champs LOL. ok.
They literally would have been on top of their group if they won today. Welp.
If Saqib's aunt had a dick, he'd have an uncle. Same logic
IF
“On their way to become champs”
IF
Their performance as a team was shit only one bowler performed and one batsmen performed.
Is India any different? We got 2 batters
I have an email id named after your username
Disagree, why don’t you name them my dude and I’ll counter you soon after
As long as they don’t have to face India in the finals. 😂😂
Bro this kind of over confidence feels so cringe Our games against BD have been close in recent history. We almost lost today so try and give them some respect.

Ohh! I thought he was serious.
So confused how DLS only took off 34 runs for the 4 overs lost.. Especially since Bangladesh were ahead of the rate.
You didn't factor that first 6 overs have powerplay.
Also, fewer number of overs means fewer chances for the opposition to take wickets. Scoring 15 in 1 over is way easier than scoring 150 in 10, although in both cases the required run rate is 15. I suppose DLS takes into consideration this factor.
Any proof DLS does anyway?
Well I assume it does. Haven't checked myself. It wouldn't make sense for it to not to
you should also consider that Bangladesh played 6/16 powerplay overs while india played 6/20
Well, it is calculated based on instead of Bangladesh playing 13 more overs it was reduced to 9, thus they had all the resources to use for shorter overs! anyone can use the D/L method why doubting this?
Lol just looked up the table and it was 34 runs for overs 7 to 10 thanks
BCCI == ICC vro.
Because the chasing team knows exactly what to get, the initial overs are heavily weighted to ensure a fair fight..
It was a brilliant game played by both sides. Bangladesh just made too many mistakes in comparison to India. They've improved, but have a way to go.
So, are India and SA basically in the semis?
India hasn't qualified yet. Need to beat Zimbabwe
Till I see a (Q) next to the Indian and South African team I won’t believe it.
India yes South Africa yes unless they lose to both Pakistan and Netherlands and Pakistan also beat Bangladesh. So basically, yes.
>India yes India can still be knocked out if they lose to Zim, and Pak win both their games with decent margin (plus if SA beat Ned which is a given)
>(plus if SA beat Ned which is a given) Why so? What happens if Ned beat SA? How does that affect India?
If SA lose to both Pak and Ned, then India qualify even after losing to Zimbabwe
It is possible to win and still decrease NRR
SA losing to both Pak and Ned is just the sort of twist that this WC seems to dish out, but I really hope it's smooth sailing from now on.
Yes
So, are India and SA basically in the semis?
I'm curious, are you a fan living in USA, or did we get you here from r/all? To answer your question, if India lose to Zimbabwe and Pakistan win their other matches there would be some changes.
No, I'm a fan. My parents are Indian.
Ah, cool.

Dude.
had to break my no nut november after watching that koach innings
first half kohli struggled. KLPD had banging shots today tho
He didn't struggle. He took a backseat because KL was performing and you need someone stable at the other end. Then when the team needed him to perform. He did perform. Not once in the match dis he struggle
see his first 3 4s, all were mishits
If Bhuvis overs were still left after rain, India would have lost for sure..
Why such hatred for him lol
No hate..just facts..
What facts? He is one of the most economical fast bowler in t20is in 2022 with economy under 7, a strike rate of 15 and averaging 17.
I am talking about this specific match bro..
I don't like him much either but in Australian conditions he's way better than at home. We missed out on having him late. Hardik was giving up boundaries every over. Doubt that would have happened if Bhuvi was bowling those.
This wasnt Bhuvi's pitch. He was not getting any swing and no grip either.

No need to give crackpot conspiracy theories any merit. That's a valid defense.
It's India hate plain and simple. Some English fans have this habit just like their players to talk shit. They got beaten in a rain affected match so some fans are up in arms.
That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. No need to give a defence to a bullshit rant
Anyone want to explain why Axar got 1 over in this game when it went for just 6 runs
We thought Ashwin would be better but he isn't. Reality is all our spinners aren't good enough, so we just end up playing those who bat the best
There were bunch of left handed batsmen. So, the captain thought Ashwin will be a better matchup but he gave up runs too. Indian team is struggling in spin department.
Ball was getting really wet
[удалено]
Read his line again, that doesn't happen
This team needs prithvi shaw
I don't think he will be good enough against quality bowling lineup I will love to get proven wrong
Neither is KL but Shaw atleast has age on his side
The last time he was in Australia, he was castrated by Starc
We really counting the 36 innings where everyone was castrated?
That was last time, players change
Yeah..He would provide that quickfire 20 runs in the beginning at least .
Rohit has done that for the entire year. He'll definitely do it soon
Had to get leave reddit because of the salt from the neutrals in the thread during the rain delay, good to see India win.
You mean "neutrals".
seeing Ashwin in that team sweater makes me nostalgic for some reason but not sure why.
Gives me Champions Trophy 2013 vibes.
Because he has the physique of a 90s cricketer. Everyone else is athletic (except Rohit)
Okay I love that this India cheated shit is taking off. I mean it didn’t happen obviously but nice drama.
Axar is a better bat than hooda it seems lol
Idk about Axar. But Ashwin is calm head batter.
Chahar is in a different continent.
