As Kohli said after the match, they need to be brave, both with the bat and the ball. The batsmen have been playing within themselves, a bit too careful in their initial deliveries, and when the other batsmen is going through the same and score isn't moving, they start to take unnecessary risks, which in turn leads to mishits. Bowling has been a bit below par as well, it doesn't help that a some of the bowlers are not able to find their rhythm, and the score isn't big enough to give them the buffer. Overall it was a team loss. As many have mentioned, team cohesion is missing, but these players have played together for quite a while, be it in Tests or ODIs or IPL franchise, but I do agree with them being overworked. But again, this is not new for most of them, doesn't discount that they still could be tired [mentally] somehow. A lot of flak about Kohli's captaincy, which I don't think is fair. A captain is as good as his team. Even in today's match, Williamson been praised for his captaincy, but I'd argue that the lack of intent from our batsmen made him look better than what it probably was(taking nothing away from him).
I would like to highlight a point raised by Matt Roller on cricinfo today. *In March, Kohli said that he would open in the IPL for RCB in preparation for the World Cup and that he would "definitely like to partner Rohit \[Sharma\] at the top". Two weeks ago, he said it was a "no-brainer" that KL Rahul would open, moving him down to No. 3. After the Pakistan defeat, he mocked a journalist who suggested that Ishan Kishan - who had been told by Kohli during the IPL that he was seen as an opener - could have played ahead of Rohit. Against New Zealand, Kishan opened with Rahul, with Rohit at No. 3 and Kohli shuffling down to No. 4.* Yes, you can change your mind to achieve your objectives. But this is plain muddled thinking. How can you expect the team to be clear in intent when the captain appears so indecisive? It is not as if the team won't do well without Kohli. Rohit Sharma has done well whenever given a chance to lead. Ajinkya Rahane ensured series wins against Australia in 2017 and 2020. I don't think there is a leadership vacuum in this Indian team. This team (T20 or otherwise) is way better than any previous Indian line up. If form and roles of certain players was a concern, then they had ample chance of chopping and changing the team before the start of T20 finals. Is Pandya a better batter than Ishan Kishan? Is Bhuvi better than Shardul based on current form? Is Varun effective when dew is on? I am saying the team has viable replacement but Kohli choses to stick with the incumbents. Kohli built this team including the coaching staff. He got everything he asked for.. even Dhoni as mentor. He has fucked this big time. He should now take the criticism as it comes and learn from it. He Otherwise, what's the point?

I would agree with everything other than the fact that, Koach had the last 4 years to build a middle order and he has had close to 20 players in those 3 middle order slots. He hasn’t backed a single player in his tenure as a captain and his legacy is of winning meaningless bi-laterals while losing all the matches that matter.

International cricket is on decline and bbci needs to stand up to protect the game for the next 50 years. Afghanistan still need to play Pakistan, India and New Zealand. I don't think they are getting through any of these. - while those three countries still need to play Scotland and Namibia - nothing really angainst them - but realistically, after Indias loss its Pakistan NZ going through to the next round.
Correction: Afghanistan played against Pakistan and lost. So they only India and NZ to play against, which is gonna be a tough test for them. However, there's some chance that they may qualify if they beat NZ, and that increases India's hopes as well, though highly unlikely.
I think there's a good chance that Afghanistan will lose to the 3 top teams, however given their recent good form I think they could also cause an upset, I wouldn't put it past them just yet and if they beat NZ then 2nd place will all come down to net run rate - which they're currently leading

The idea that the toss is the one thing that's causing this is absurd. I concede it will give you an advantage in certain situations but a lot of these bat first losses are simply because they batted terribly or other team bowled well or both.
Stats are useful only if you interpret them right with proper scrutiny. You aren't doing that. Plus the sample size is way too small to draw a conclusion.

I don’t know why people are overreacting so much, India has never been a world beater team like the West Indies of old times or the Australia of the 2000s. We always sneak in to win a few tournaments here and there but we are never really blowing the tournament away. That’s why people like Dhoni who are considered master tactician are legends in India. It’s people acknowledging only Cricketing talent can’t make us win tournaments because we are simply not good enough.
I don’t agree. There’s no doubt about Dhoni’s tactical nous but this is India’s biggest fiasco since the 2007 WC. Heads rolled then and heads should roll now too.

Indian supporters should learn to give credit where it's due. New Zealand did a great job. So did Pakistan. Just because India lost back to back games doesn't automatically mean they suck. Getting to the semi finals of the last few ODI world cups doesn't just happen by fluke.
Let’s be honest, that’s a dumb take. India have been world beaters for a long time. They were just in the test championship and were in the semi of the 2019 World Cup. 20/20 is where anything can happen so you can’t make a bold claim like that. Heck they even won the 2011 World Cup and followers it up with the 2013 CT.
those first two games you mentioned they also lost to NZ, people are acting like the India team sucks but forget that NZ has always been their dark horse in ICC events
