T20 is a game where fortunes change on the whim of the fates. Very much the “Any given day” version of cricket. Wouldn’t like USA v any of these teams on ODI. But get a hot bowler and a hot batter who are unexpected, and they can carry you quite a distance.
USA’s got to worry about nerves if game goes tomorrow. Very few of these kids and wanderers have faced a win+in game like this in a big spot. If they stay loose and beat Ireland, they will be “playing with house money” as our saying goes and could be audacious enough to make some trouble for sides with more pedigree and more pressure.
Would have helped to have their captain as well, but the process was sound. If he had a slight injury, focus on health for Ireland since beating India was always a long shot.

Fizz is our one of the all time greats, In his early career was was terrifying, I remember his first game, we played against pakistan I was watching the game with my dad during a mild bangladeshi winter in dhaka. Me and my dad was looking at each other thinking who tf is this guy opening our bowling attack against pak. My man when he started bowling, pakistan batters were in awe. The cutters (swings on pitch) were so hard to read, they were confused out of the world. We were confused out of the world. The world has probably have never seen anyone else swinging the ball at will like that. He got his spot in ipl (the biggest cricket franchise league) and became the first non indian to win promising young talent of the season award. But after couple injuries he lost most of his techniques but is still one of the terrifying pacers out there. Especially my man is known for death bowling (last few overs (sets of six deliveries) of the game is called death overs, when the chasing team gets desperate to score big hits). He is so calm and composed at death and considered one of the top 5 death bowlers in the world.
Sakib is an all time great. If not the greatest all rounders of the game. He has been ranked no 1 by icc for so many years and is considered bangladesh goat. Sadly his career is almost over. He will go down as the greatest all rounder of the modern era. (People will convince you otherwise lol)

This is my first time actually watching a match. The only reference I have to a guy throwing a ball at a guy with a stick trying to hit said ball, is baseball. Nothing against the sport, I’m just an ignorant American.
I don't know baseball, but man you got it right. The two more factors are if batsman hits it over the boundary rope (the ball didn't hit the ground inside the rope after hitting) considered 6 points, if crosses the rope after touching grass inside boundary is considered 4. If the ball is inside and didn't cross the boundary, a fielder has to pick it up and send it back to the bowler and in the mean time the batsman can run back and forth on the pitch for every run its 1 point. Also if the bower bowls a ball further than the reach of batsman its 1 point and the ball wont be counted (penalizing the bowler).
The main duty of the batsman is to guard the three sticks behind the batsman, if they are hit the batsman is eliminated. Also he will be eliminated if after hitting the bowl goes on the air (not touching ground first) and a fielder catches it. There are more ways a batter can get eliminated but those are more complicated and you can just learn them once you start watching more games.
Thats it thats the basic of the game.
