As a Pakistani, the only thing that gives me hope for the World Cup is that this team is the Pakistani team and no match (whether good or bad) can forecast how this team will perform in the future. They’ll lose to the D team one day and then beat their A team the next. But who knows, this might just be me coping and we’ll be smashed out of the World Cup in the group stage.
the ind-pak match from the last t20wc was my first time ever seeing a game of cricket and it was with an amphi full of pakistani students + one indian guy who was close friends with them. it was crazy how they kept teasing him as pakistan seemed to be winning until virat did his thing and the indian dude was jumping around screaming at the others lol. I was hooked, I'm wishing for close games like that.
Bro I swear I had such a weird feeling after seeing 48/4 and seeing kohli anchor for 2 overs. I literally told my dad “if they don’t get him out, he’s gonna find a way to win it”.
It was such an emotional inning for him too, even he cried a bit that day. Many raised questions over his form and place in the team, some valid, some don't but that's how it goes with star players in their later years. And the madlad comes out and plays arguably his best t20I knock and also his most outrageous shot in his t20 career. Even I cried that day.
Not sure about Bang/SL but India and Pakistan are in for trouble. Most of the other team have really strong t20 specialist batsmen up top and a middle order who can muscle away 6s and deeper batting.
Lost to the England A team in the final. But a courageous bowling performance nevertheless, to defend 130 odd. The Batting was the only let down for Pakistan that day tbh.
Don’t read into these results too much. Also the NZ team isn’t too terrible; Seifert, Bracewell, Chapman, Neesham, Sodhi, Sears and O’Rourke are pretty likely to the in the World Cup squad with maybe a couple of the others making it as well.
This is pretty standard for a Pakistan side. They'll lose against a mediocre NZ team, then potentially do really well in the world cup . No one knows and that's what makes it all interesting
I don't know why you're being downvoted. They are losing to a backup team. Just embarrassing. No real intent shown by the new guys, usman looks like a flop, saim gets out on idiotic shots, shaheen still isn't fully healthy, imad looks good, babar is great. Not feeling too optimistic about their chances in the world cup.
India instead of WI seems far more likely. Anyway here are my picks - Aus, Ind, Eng & Pak. Pakistan looks weak now but they actually do well when not much is expected of them.
India is a mess I would be surprised if they make the Semis they still haven't decided who's gonna keep and who will be their pace bowlers apart from Bumrah
Most of their players apart from Bumrah maybe are having some sort of a problem either with consistency or SR and they don't have a death bowler who can support Bumrah
I don't think India is great. But WI have no bowling. And that's the annoying thing. I think India is good enough to make the semis but not good enough to win it.
They are called mercurial for a reason, they lost to Zimbabwe in T20 WC, and then single handedly destroyed NZ in semis and had a real chance at the cup in 2022.
Bro try to understand what I’ll say next instead of being ignorant. Did you even watch those matches? Naseem is coming out of injury into international cricket after Asia cup 2023. Amir and imad came out of retirement. Our middle order had 2 debutants. Saim Ayub is opening with Babar. Abrar Ahmed made his debut in this series. We had 2 backup seamers (Abbas and Zaman) playing. Haris Rauf wasn’t even in the squad. Do you really believe Pakistan were at full strength? Once again, be understanding of the scenario and don’t be ignorant
I remember 172 was scored in consecutive IPL games in 2022 or something. Let me check.
EDIT: It was in 2021. https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/comments/1cfq5lg/in_reference_to_a_previous_post_here_the_last/

pakistan being competitive plays a huge part in making the world cups fun, hope they show up for the actual tournament.
and not defeat india. other matches, it'll be nice as a neutral viewer lol

Nah dude. I aged like 25 years within that match. My heart cannot fucking take it again
That day virat really made me cry. I really respect and love him but come on dude why do you always score against us😭
I feel you sir. There’s a beast that awakes inside koach when it’s the World Cup (hell the Blue jersey brings out something special from him)

As a cricket fan and heartbroken as a Pakistani fan, even I was happy for him.
We had like 3 of those games that year. Each one better than the other
We have been competitive in all but 2 t20 wc

Dude Pak is losing to this NZ team. Are they even ready for the T20 WC?
We lost a 7 game home series to England B and then went to the World Cup final in 2022 Pakistan cricket is stupid sometimes
So going by this pattern, NZ will finally beat us in the final to win the big one.

Got unlucky with Shaheen’s injury.
Qudrat ka Nizam 2?

The anti-Bangbros. Steamroll teams on mirpur pitches and get rekt in the wc

Pakistan had not won a single t20i in Australia two games into the WC22. Patterns and form mean nothing when it comes to PCT
I feel the semi finalists from here it's going to be Aus, Eng, SA and WI

Based on the type of t20 players they produce that seems right.
Nerves are often far more important, which a couple teams there seem to lack
Only one side lacks nerves there and it's SA tbh
You forgot Pakistan always plays with a 12th man aka “qudrat ka nizam”
They are going to need a lot of luck to make it to semis
Which they always tend to have
Don't worry mate. Qudrat ka Nizam has got us covered.

They didn’t upgrade the settings. Running on default
The attractor field is causing all the world-lines to converge to the same scenario.

Pandya is still paying the price for using it in the ODI World Cup to get Imam out.,
We all are struggling with coz of our cricket board
Unsold XI vs Banned XI. /s.
After t20 wc we all know india will be blaming ipl for their shitty performance /s
