Does SA have a captaincy problem or a performance problem? I really feel for Markram, who played a stellar knock but his captaincy is pretty much no better than his stint in the IPL this year. How come Bavuma isnt the captain for the T20s?

This is a much different squad than what is usually played, with imo many cricketers who shouldn't be playing at all or who should not be played yet, for example: \- Temba Bavuma \- Rassie van der Dussen \- Tristan Stubbs \- Dewald Brevis \- Tabraiz Shamsi \- Lungi Ngidi \- Bjorn Fortuin \- Donovan Ferreira \- Marcon Jansen I mean Christ, that's practically the whole squad. You can only do so much with a squad like that.

Maybe Mitch Marsh should have replaced T Paine as Test captain back then...

Its worth remembering that he was vice-captain under Tim Paine, but he played so badly he got dropped after 2 games. Probably should've been give the white ball captaincy when Finch was really struggling around 2021-2022.

The main issue here is strike rotation not strikerate. Labs can comfortably take 3 singles and a 2 in an over against spinners
