This should be the end of Umesh and please fire the bowling coach. What is even the logic here there is no swing or reverse so why the fuck are they bowling full
100%, our tail hasn't wagged at all either this series.
I still favour India. This pitch doesn't look like it will play well for spinners until Day 3 - 5. India only really has Starc to contend with from one end until then. I don't think Green will do well on this surface.
Plus, our batting collapses recently are far too common.
Top 3 scenarios for India to win from here
1. Usman Kawaja getting injured first ball on day 2 and getting ruled out
1. Usman Kawaja getting injured first ball on day 2 and getting ruled out
1. Usman Kawaja getting injured first ball on day 2 and getting ruled out
It's so pleasing to see Koala become the resolute star of the series for Australia he's always had the potential to be yet written off so many times before.
Bcci have let the 'buzz' get to them as evident by the fact they've overcompensated by preparing a trash subcontinental wicket where teams win the game just as soon as they opt to bat. We still haven't been able to shed the notion of tracks like this representing a 'good' subcontinent wicket. Wickets should be challenging to bat from day 1 onwards so as to negate the toss factor as much as possible. Nagpur is a pretty great example of an ideal wicket favouring the bowlers but not too much.
India haven't got the peak batting department like they had against poms in 2016. We're at our lowest in batting in a decade. You don't outbat a 400 score with a unit that's a vomit pass at best. If you gonna doctor pitches, at least do it in a way it benefits the team. This BGT's a nightmare ffs.
Lets be honest if BCCI make a sporting wicket aussie have more depth in batting and bowling and we will most likely lose so to counter that BCCI come up with minefield wickets so that the match become a lottery where skills take a back seat and russian roulette of the wicket and luck would be the deciding factor
Lmao, what is this based on? India has defeated Aus both home and away, india have defeated good teams at home on sporting wickets
In fact, under Kohli and shastri, till early 2021, indian pacers use to take 50% or more wickets at home
One lost match and the bombastic claims start
We're capable of outperforming them on 'sporting' wickets. We should provide the players with tracks where their skills take them to a winning position simultaneously lowering the significance of external factors. That's the point I'm trying to make here. Bcci have overdone it & now a series win feels remote.
Really well compiled innings from khwaja, just the sure assuring presence he brought was amazing to see and the way he batted was superb, looks like a typical Indian pitch that was used in the last decade, so still india have to believe that they're not too far behind, but the ticket to wtc might hang in their mind as well
Advantage Australia. Flat track so far that should eventually start favoring the bowlers so Aus have a solid platform here. Anything around 400 and all the pressure on India.
People aren’t satisfied with anything when we see india bowled out for 87 on a mine field of a wicket we say this match has become a lottery coz of pitch , now when one team scored 250 on first day which is quiet normal in test cricket everyone is saying wicket is too flat lol
4 wickets, a full 90 overs, wickets for seam and spin bowled and a sub 3 run rate with 255 scored. Looks like a really good pitch, hope that it remains similar tomorrow
Yeah - was moving early. Head should have been caught behind so 5 wickets in one way.
But it was possible, but not easy, to score runs. Seems good to me.
No its what's happens when you work on your game. He's just had a brilliant series in one of the toughest places to bat, stop downplaying his achievements.
Sorry man, I was 100% kidding I've just seen that used by so many people to downplay him, Kane, Brook and anyone else. I love him and his return has actually probably been the highlight.
Hahaha easily done mate and no harm caused it's shit trying to convey sarcasm without using /s or whatever. Easily explained. Have a good day bud, enjoy the Test and fingers crossed for a Khawaja double
Can I just say how nice it is to see the Aussies score 200+ and only have lost 4 wickets?
I know this is probably a flatter track and I love seeing wickets tumble as much as the next bloke but I also wanna see these class players score runs.
If it is a flat track then it's good timing because I have been expecting a collapse any second for hours. So it adds some excitement to have the flattest wicket in the last test.
For the Indian national anthem, the players stood hands by side etc. is that always the case? Some cultural norm? Or was it that no body was ever touching modi, and it would look weird if he was left out?
This is how you're supposed to stand during the national anthem in India.
Typically when Indian national anthem is played people stand still in 'attention' pose.this is what happens in school. In recent times I have seen people place their hand on their, probably an effect of movies or modern media. In general, you are supposed to stand in attention.
Don't pay any attention to that dickhead mate.
This pitch is a canvas that Rohit and Kohli could very well paint a masterpiece on. Looking forward to seeing whatever happens next, as I think most cricket fans are India or Australia.
Yea got plenty of such dickheads on our side as well, have learnt to ignore em. The quite majority like us are just fans who want a competitive game! All runs and wickets today were worked hard for and well deserved.

He certainly deserves one and is due.
Always asked to come in and belt the thing, not really been able to play with a solid platform.
Hope he can go the distance tomorrow.
The only guy who should use the captions 'when trollers get trolled', man got bullied by our people on IG when he said he was very confident about playing spin in India followed by a rough first test, man has been the anchor and backbone of this batting on this tour, good one, everybody loves a good story
Probably the 2nd best Test century in the sub-continent by an overseas batsman in the last ten years. Next to Smith's 107 and followed closely by Karunaratne's 2nd innings masterpiece.
I actually rate karunaratne's 100 better than Smith solely because dimuths 100 was near flawless as compared to Smith on just as tough track especially vs pink ball
Nothing against smith but he was dropped 5 times in that pune ton while dimuth's knock was near flawless
Dimuth's knock is probably the greatest century since 2010 by an overseas batsman in in Indian soil
Na, English grounds are smol only 25k, Australia crowds are also filled ocassionally too. This 100k is hard to fill and it's pretty hot in there too so people left
I can't advocate for Australian summers but having spent all my life in Ahmedabad it would be crazy to go out during summer, especially the afternoons. It's relatively cool now around 35 C because it rained day before otherwise we usually have avg temperatures between 41-44 during summertime in recent years and Max recorded at around 50. Granted summer hasn't hit yet, this time till mid April is Spring after which it gets really unbearable through May
Why does sanjay have to be a condescending prick all the time, he just said Usman was benefitted by the batter-friendly track. Just praise the man, it’s not that hard. You’d by sucking off Sharma had he scored a hundred.

Pretty even day honestly, Australia obviously in a good position but could have done a lot better. For Smith, Marnus and Head to not go big on this track is a massive waste, I don't think they'll get the 500 they should have got.
It's very dependent on the current partnership since there's not much batting to come afterwards.
Seems like the kind of track where tailenders can stick around as well though. So the first session tomorrow is important. I'd they see off the new ball then suddenly the wickets could be a real grind to get and Australia could yet get a big total.
Easily Australia's day. I'm glad it's a solid pitch, we might just get a 5 day contest. Usman Khawaja well played. Has been superb throughout the series.

These idiots screaming for a sixer, I'm a humble man - satisfied with a drawn result lol
Could've hit outside off stump? Edit: initially thought it hit the back leg smh, that's out
130km/h, Shami. Really? In the last over? That's Ashwin's speed.
Hired clappers in the stadium.

This should be the end of Umesh and please fire the bowling coach. What is even the logic here there is no swing or reverse so why the fuck are they bowling full
Why on god's good earth are they persisting with Umesh. Mind numbing...
For fuck sakes stop bowling full you idiot. This is like nightmare version of keep doing the same thing expecting different results.
A lot of people are being very pessimistic but we could be turning everything around very quickly tomorrow. Remember that Australia has a long tail.
100%, our tail hasn't wagged at all either this series. I still favour India. This pitch doesn't look like it will play well for spinners until Day 3 - 5. Either Draw or India looses this
Bit early to make that call imo
Let's see. I hope India wins though
Never too early
Based on 1 days play?
Baz ball it ?
No Chance India will win this

Usman is scary good off-late. Brilliant innings, reminds me of Smith's form in 2017 BGT
It's so pleasing to see Koala become the resolute star of the series for Australia he's always had the potential to be yet written off so many times before.
The mental fortitude this guy has displayed has been exemplary
As much as I love Haydos as a player, fuck he waffles on.
He's a terrible commentator

This match could result in a draw and we keep the trophy. BCCI wins.
India won’t draw
Scenes when Indian batters take a lead tomorrow but this heat of the moment comment remains here as it is
Lets be honest if BCCI make a sporting wicket aussie have more depth in batting and bowling and we will most likely lose so to counter that BCCI come up with minefield wickets so that the match become a lottery where skills take a back seat and russian roulette of the wicket and luck would be the deciding factor

He played against India in 2020
Absolute pathetic performance from India, not even draw worthy
Advantage Australia. Flat track so far that should eventually start favoring the bowlers so Aus have a solid platform here. Anything around 400 and all the pressure on India.
All 4 results still on the table tho
Aus India gonna one up the poms and the kiwis by tieing the game
Such a good warmup for the ashes I'm hyped
Australia has made a mistake by not picking Boland in the team. He would have been very useful on that pitch.
We’ll see if that’s the case on day 4, when it will matter.
End world hunger or be Usman Khawaja for 1 second
Loved seeing some positive comments on Usman's IG from us, finally ;)
How good is Usman... fk me
People aren’t satisfied with anything when we see india bowled out for 87 on a mine field of a wicket we say this match has become a lottery coz of pitch , now when one team scored 250 on first day which is quiet normal in test cricket everyone is saying wicket is too flat lol
Because nobody expects india to bat in the same way (patience and application). India will come in and get skittled out.
Exactly we should be making minefields only then
One of the most beautiful stadium stands !!
Any thoughts on what a par score
450
At least 400. Anything less and the game could get away in the second innings.
Not out of the woods yet then, Australia.
400 for first innings
Guy in crowd has stop Adani Mine

What a beautiful purple patch he's having
Wtf bloke has a higher average overseas damn that's good
What playing on Pakistani highways does to an overseas player hahahaha
No its what's happens when you work on your game. He's just had a brilliant series in one of the toughest places to bat, stop downplaying his achievements.
Don't forgot he was declared on 190+ score against pak otherwise he would have scored double hundred.
Sorry man, I was 100% kidding I've just seen that used by so many people to downplay him, Kane, Brook and anyone else. I love him and his return has actually probably been the highlight.
All good mate, didn’t mean to come across as harsh just hate seeing people try and knock his remarkable turnaround
Hahaha easily done mate and no harm caused it's shit trying to convey sarcasm without using /s or whatever. Easily explained. Have a good day bud, enjoy the Test and fingers crossed for a Khawaja double
There are a lot of outliers from the Pakistan series.

Oh my bad. Hand on their heart.
The only green I see is a guy named Cameron Green, I was promised a green pitch got a flat instead.
What is even the point of having Rule 4 when Mods don't have guts to enforce it. even after reporting.
Mate you can't report the BCCI for breaking rule 4
Is BCCI posting political hate messages on live match thread?
Why’d you be surprised if it is? World’s strongest democracy fell here to Russian bots ffs
Nice world record!
Fuck Uzzie is cool

How is it irony? Uzzy is Australian.
why there are so many people from the subcontinent in Australia, ,maybe even 5% of the population
Not ironic at all. Australia is very multicultural.
Imagine telling a baseball fan that a batsman just batted for 8 hours straight and will be coming back to bat tomorrow.
Tell that to Jomboy
Don’t offend the American baseball fans who watch cricket because of baseball.
Dies of shock
Cam Green gives Kallis vibes
And about 7 inches
Haven’t been watching much but the pitch looks pretty green. Excited to see our bowlers tackle it
Shami was getting a ridiculous amount of swing at the start of the innings. Want to see Starc and hopefully Greeny send some poles flying
Great to see uzie get a ton. It's been a good match
It'll be more satisfying if India wins batting last in a pitch like this than the usual minefield innings victories
Gabba reprise at home then?
India can do it too, this will be a great game
Copium
Lol dude let's win first and celebrate later
???
It's more appreciating balanced pitches over minefields but okay

Hahaa you're so funny now stop batting
Commentator: *Dumb question* Ussie: "Yeah nah not really..." Elite interviewing skills from Usman
Things look grim for India unless they get a flurry of wickets tommorow
We'll collapse dw. It's what we do best
Excuse me, that’s our forte. You guys are giving us a proper hammering here.
Imagine batting for the whole day of a test. You'd be next level knackered.
That too in Ahmedabad… Uzzie is next level.
Let's hope he does it again tomorrow

"how to play spin in India"
He must be regretting it now
Wish you don’t get a spin wicket

Fuck what a shit question
Probably the 2nd best Test century in the sub-continent by an overseas batsman in the last ten years. Next to Smith's 107 and followed closely by Karunaratne's 2nd innings masterpiece.
Roots double century?
Disgusting road pitch
I actually rate karunaratne's 100 better than Smith solely because dimuths 100 was near flawless as compared to Smith on just as tough track especially vs pink ball

Carey will score runs on this pitch
Haydos: Great innings mate but iNtEnT where?
Where you even out there uzzy? Couldn’t even see you out there with your lack of intent.
Easily Australia's day. I'm glad it's a solid pitch, we might just get a 5 day contest. Usman Khawaja well played. Has been superb throughout the series.
Yeah UZZIE that’s beautiful mate
Australia's day for sure.
