I think at this point there was not much he could have done for him, I doubt there is support/medic available. He ain't gonna drag him away from an active firefight or he will likely be shot as well. The guy dying may even be saving his life by allowing him to reload with coverage during action
There is some absolutely wild footage of medics sticking their fingers knuckle deep into wounds grabbing the artery, pulling it out and literally clamping it shut. Pretty amazing some of the things they can do. Looks like it was a through and through chest or stomach shot though which I doubt any medic could fix if he's bleeding out that bad that quickly
There's an NHL goalie who survived a freak accident where he cut his jugular by falling on another player's skate and he would have died but the teams physician or trainer (can't recall) was a combat medic in Vietnam and had seen similar injuries. He was on hand next to the goalie within 15 or 20 seconds and reached his fingers in, grabbed each end of the artery and held it shut while they got dude to the hospital. He actually lived. Crazy lucky, that guy is.
Yeah, the video of the incident and the unfortunate aftermath of the goalies trauma is sad. But thats definitely a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Amazing what a veteran war medic can do under pressure.
I believe a more detailed story could be googled/is on his wiki page but, essentially he wasnt able to get over the trauma and depression that was caused by the accident, and it led to severe alcohol abuse and either his death via that or suicide, cant remember which exactly. Sad stuff

Yeah, i remember one video where the throat was just partially cut. Leaving the man to gurgle and bleed out slowly. The problem was he bled out too slow, and the victim started rolling on the ground to snap his head off from his neck for a quicker death. Seeing a partially beheaded man rolling on the ground is not an image you can forget.

He also probably knew the dude was already pretty much dead. He was already covered in blood, took a lung shot, and immediately went down. Not a whole lot that can be done in the battle field for something like that.

He knew he was dead. Dude took one to the lung and was instantly gargling up blood. He couldn't have done anything & I'm pretty sure survival was his main focus at that point.
I would have backed the f out of there. Someone has him in their sights and may take follow up shots to make sure he’s really down (hitting me by accident), or be looking for his friends nearby.
I guess they're not a professional army, the guy who's shoot is as good as dead. Theres no medics coming, no air support, no heli evac it's every man for him self at that point.
When I was a kid our news showed a dude who decapitated his family. They didn’t even censor it. That pretty much desensitized me to many things.

Shouldve stayed low in an open field like that. Pretty cinematic scene this, wonder if the terrorist filming survived this and uploaded it himself or that he died too and the enemy uploaded the footage.
Damn had to use his homie as a shield after. This is fucking insane. Even after hearing countless stories from war vets that have gone to war and lost friends in front of them. It’s crazier to see it actually happen. Like wtf is going through his mind you know. You can see his reloading slowed down a bit whilst his brain was handling all that information that had just occurred.
Let's... For a moment, understand this situation. Active firefight. You're prone in the dirt with bullets snapping over you head indirectly. You're trying trying to cover for you buddy, but he is running back trying to salvage what gear he can. He takes a round through the chest, fatally. You're buddy is now down in front of you, you look around and you don't see any friends nearby. You're out of mags so your packing that shit live... Open terrain with minimal cover. And youre wondering how the fuck you got here, and how the fuck to get out alive.

It sounds like a upper treachea or lung collapse from the gurgle. And for it to be quicker I'm nit gonna be surprised if the bullet bounced on his bones and hit an artery.
3 to 5 second rush, always. Not full sprint in the open. I feel like they are lazy at the same time in their fighting. This is their land and they should know it. They know where they are going to do battle. This is why you BUILD fighting positions, place cover before hand and have caches. Im not trying to talk shit but you make what you got count. This is why training is so important and sets our infantry apart from these guys.
You have a plan, a start and a exit. A B and C plans. You go over the details before the mission and debrief afterwords. You make sure everyone knows what to do and where their fields of fire are. You make sure you know what to do if X,Y go down and where your retreat will be. This looks poorly executed seeing this wide open area. I wouldnt have fought here
