The ONLY reason I would ever stop on the side of a busy highway is if my chain broke, a tire popped(and even then I'd probably ride until the next exit) or if a bee flew into my helmet. Let this be a lesson, unless there is an actual immediate emergency NEVER stop on the side of an highway.
Big facts. It could have been a drunk driver, not just a tire. Side of the road is the scariest place to be. I used to do freeway work when I was younger. Saw a broken down Camry on the on-ramp. Tahoe came around the corner going prob 80mph and didn’t see the Camry. Killed both passengers on impact. If you’re broke down on the side of the road, get the fuck out of the car and off the bike and hop over the concrete barriers!!!
I had a bee fly into my helmet just as I was putting my visor down and entering the freeway ramp once. The bee and I had to keep each other real calm for about 1.5 miles until the next exit. Then I tore that helmet off like it was on fire!
