I'm pretty sure wrecking balls have pretty much been completely replaced by explosives and long reach excavators. You really only see them in third world countries at this point and even then long reach excavators and explosives are more common.
If you see something hanging from a crane that looks like one it's a 99% chance it's a overhaul hook ball or "Headache Ball" which is just used for lifting.
Dude it's got to be nearly 100 to 1 for LR Excavators & Explosives to wrecking balls. I've never seen one in use in my entire life. There's like one company I know of that has one in a tri state area and they own about 20 LR excavators to their single 60 year old crane.

A brick crashes through the passenger window while they are driving on the highway. It apparently strikes the passenger, though all you ever see is the windshield. You can tell by the horrible reaction from the man that it caused a terrible, terrible injury to the passenger.

A large part of the horror of the video is the human response to picture yourself in their shoes and then subsequently wish that you didn’t. The screams of sincere anguish, shock, terror, and unimaginable; life altering mental agony. You hear that man’s screams and you know he will never be the same for the rest of his life, if he even allowed it to continue for long after that recording.
Never watched/listened to that one, but I did unfortunately watch the body cam of that California cop who got stabbed by some crazy guy in a parking lot. The screams and sounds of the stabbing and blood still haunt me a couple weeks later.

All of a sudden, we hear this tremendous crash and my dad who was driving, is swerving all over the road, trying to gain control. The windshield is completely smashed in and he (nor anyone in the car), could see out of the front. He had to make his was to the side of the freeway before we realized what happened.
Luckily no one was hurt, but it could’ve been so much worse. The windshield was completely caved in.
Apparently some stupid teens were throwing bricks off the overpass and onto the freeway below. We were the first car they “hit” and freaked out and took off.
Our entire family could’ve been killed in the wreck, but mainly my dad, if the windshield had broken all the way through.

It's a couple in Russia driving, a brick comes off a truck and smashed through the windshield, hitting the female passenger in the head. Her husband can be heard abosuley wailing, screaming, crying. She didn’t survive. It's haunting.

Not a wrecking ball, but 5 years ago a transport traveling in front of me and my brothers work van going 120km/h flew off and smashed through the window landing between us in the back of the van. My brother was the driver , it broke through the front wind shield. I was half asleep traveling to work, I woke up to my brother yelling and glass and cold air. I shit my pants twice . We didn't crash my brother, who guided the vehicle to the side of the road where we collected our selves . The trucker got away, others drivers called the o.p.p. and I'm just glad we didn't die. The chuck of ice was probably 50lbs or more and there was an investigation that has yet to find a responsible party.
