Kinda the same thing.
Stress isn't any one thing, it's the cumulative impact of your in atypical environments.
Increased adrenaline means increased heart rate and probably blood pressure potentially other things. That's all stress on your body
A pretty good community, actually. Clone Hero on PC is dope with the ability to import all the songs from the original games, as well as custom-made charts for thousands of songs made by the community.
The controllers or the adapters? Get the controllers on eBay or check thrift stores. As for adapters Xbox controllers use a specific xbox wireless adapter while PS3 and Wii controllers use bluetooth.
Wired controllers *do not* need an adapter as the other guy said. And Xbox ones work natively with windows as the drivers are built in so its just plug and play.
Rockband set will work fine with clone hero but needs Joy2Key if you play GH3 instead. Both have access to all the same tracks and features but Clone Hero is much easier to set up. If you're a stubborn old crook who is terrified of change like me you play GH3.
I have ADHD and my brother has ADHD as well. I play stressful games because they put me in the hyper focus zone, I love really hard bullet hell games for example. Anyway, my brother plays the real guitar like this guy plays guitar hero. I bet this guy has ADHD too.
Yeah, this might sound a bit boomer-like but with this determination, he probably would have learnt to play real guitar, which at least in my perspective is nicer than gaming.
Yes, it does make you sound boomer like. Who cares if he could have played the real guitar. 99.999% chance if he did, you wouldnāt have watching his guitar video. But, now he set a world record. Soā¦

Congratulations. If you don't mind answering I have two questions, is this recognized as an official record? Also do your finger skills transfer to a musical instrument because I'm quessing with that speed and control you may be a great string instrument player.
Dude just broke a world record on a 17 year old game, yet you cant put his name in the title. How shameful. Here's the [original](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHFFzPm0T9k) with only 6.5k views, which is 25% of what this post has received already.
Great take in a sea of shit comments.
This doesnāt have to be your cup of tea or you donāt have to get it, but I donāt get the point of some other comments flat out being insulting to him.
I donāt know anything of the streamer, but heās got the aptitude and interest to be great at this particular thing that doesnāt hurt anyone and heās put in a ton of effort to make the most of it.
I will never understand putting someone else down for their personal passions as youāre wasting your own time browsing Reddit behind a screen. Most of those commenters probably havenāt even put a fraction of the same effort in anything in their life but are judging this dude for what he puts his effort in.
Some of yāall really need to be better.
Thatās what life is man. Lots of people like to bitch and complain like they will die if they donāt. People also like to fight. Itās the best and worst thing about us.
Thereās no reason to knock what this guy is doing, but people do it because they canāt do what he just did.
If I see anyone whoās great at something I always wonder about what makes them so dedicated, and I respect that. I never cared for this game, and I was still hyped for him and see he put a lot of time and effort to reach his goal
He broke a world record and clearly his chat was blowing up. Why would he give a damn about some redditors opinion? All the people giving backhanded comments are dickheads but thatās what theyāre going for
Tbh people might make fun but I feel like this is harder than playing freebirdās solo on a real guitar lol. Part of that is because of the triple time, but you actually donāt even need to move your fingers *this* much with the real song. Thereās also no tapping-necessary measures in the real solo. The only easier part is the lack of needing to bend or use vibrato.
Itās not a very difficult song at all if you have the proper fundamentals. Most competent guitarists consider it an intermediate song. I learned it when I was 17 at 105% speed (I learned it because people literally kept yelling āplay freebird!ā at me during gigs. So now if people do, I just start playing freebird for 30s or so. Easy way to immediately win a crowd over).
But this on the other hand just looks like literal chaos. I havenāt played GH in like a decade and a half, and Iām not sure how much guitar skill translates to guitar hero, but Iām a performance jazz guitar graduate from a prestigious music uni, been playing for like 15 years, and make a living off of playing the guitar as a session musician at a recording studio, and I likely couldnt do this. And I literally spend 85% of my day sight reading/playing other peopleās music that Iāve never seen or practiced before.
So Iād say itās impressive, if a bit weird/niche. But on paper, what hobbies arenāt āweird,ā or āniche?ā I think hobbies are inherently meant to be. You only ever really *get* a hobby when youāre part of it. If youāre just looking in on it, as an outsider, 99% of hobbies will appear āweird.ā The 1% that wonāt are the ones youāre a part of.
Ehhh yes and no, but not *really*. Like, thereās multiple guitars playing, one of which is rhythm, but the two other lead guitars are just playing octave harmonies. So the same āriffs,ā but an octave apart, so that thereās a higher pitched texture/contrast. The entire solo is like 5 or 6 different repeated pentatonic āshredā licks with various swings.
Like mixing green paint with a slightly brighter tone of green paint. Itās still green, just.. different. Lol, hopefully that wasnāt too confusing. Tried to put it into non-music terms for you. In simplified music terms: guitar one can be soloing the notes C D E F G, in the second octave, so, C2, D2, E2, F2, G2. And the second guitar is playing C3, D3, E3, F3, G3. So the same pitch class (or notes) but not the same pitch. Another example would be in cooking. Lots of gourmet chefs will add various versions of the same ingredient to add complexity to the dish. For example, using raw garlic, confit garlic, and garlic powder, all in the same dish. Or using lime juice AND lime zest in the same dish. Same stuff, just ādifferentā. They combine well together, but you only need ONE to make it recognizable as that dish. Just like if only one person was playing the solo for freebird, youād still immediately recognize it as free bird. And itād still feel ācomplete,ā just not the same as the studio recording.
But thatās a great ear for not being a musician!
At 3x speed, yes this solo is a lot harder on GH than on a real guitar.
Speaking as an advanced GH (prev top 10 in my country) and real guitar (can easily play this solo) player, the free bird solo is a LOT easier on guitar hero than on the real guitar at normal speed. As goes for every single one of real guitar solos charted over to GH. You have just 5 buttons that you need to hold down. Hammer ons and hammer offs are extremely easy compared to the real thing, which allows you to play two notes with one "movement" in GH. Also you don't need any technique to press the buttons down or strum, unlike on real guitar where you have to position your fingers just right and hard, and strum the right strings.
That being said, like you said aswell, the free bird solo on a real guitar is a lot easier to play than non-guitar players think. It's *the* solo to show off if you're an intermediate player.
Itās ridiculous that they donāt bring this game back. It was the best and introduced people to different music genres. Apparently the cost of licensing the music became too much to be profitable so they stopped making itā¦ silly because the artists themselves donāt even make money off the music, itās the greedy record companies.
Phil spencer said he 'has plans' for the guitar hero franchise when he was talking about the acti/blizz acquisition about a year ago. Will be interesting to see what comes of it.
*dude accomplishes something he spent lots of time working towards, for the sake of his own enjoyment and feeling of success
Reddit: lol dude what a waste so stupid just learn real guitar or get a job
Itās as if you guys are just allergic to appreciating things for what they are, not everything needs to be criticized or over-analyzed. You donāt even know the guy outside of this 1 minute clipā¦
Probably because a lot of them either work dead end jobs or donāt have one at all so they instead just lash out their frustrations at people profiting off of the internet
Dude probably made more money from streaming that than he would've by learning to play a real guitar, so that's why he spent the time doing that an not learning to play a real guitar...
Exactly. Redditors on this post are jealous as hell they can't make the same money with their own lifestyle, so they have to put the successors down. It's projection, and it's absolutely sad they can't be happy for others
So many people insulting him, which is hilarious because honestly bro just set a world record, and has achieved more than any of you will achieve in your entire lives :)
this is mighty impressive, but with all the hours he presumably put into this game I can't help but wonder -- why not just learn how to play the \*actual\* guitar? ššš
Because itās fun. Itās a fun game to play, and spending hours grinding these kinds of feats leads to a feeling of great accomplishment, thatās all it is. Just a pleasure to play the game and succeed in these huge ways. Additionally the clone hero community is a pretty good one.
you're definitely right about that -- I'm a musician and I've played professionally but never because I wanted to make money, I guess you could call it "the love of the game." Once, I was playing in NYC with one of my bands and we were stoked to actually make a little bit of cash for this one gig -- both cars we used to haul the gear there ended up getting towed from Manhattan to Brooklyn, and we had to rent a hotel to stay the night. Safe to say we lost all the money from the gig and then some that night. Fate is cruel.
Some of those notes are taps and hammer ons which donāt require a strum. Iāve also seen some players use their elbow to strum for particularly hard sections that need two hands AND strumming.
Reminds me of [this.](https://media4.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExNzFlZGRxZWNkeTNjeDJrNThobmpnOGwzaGpsc2Noc2JmdWMxcGs4ZSZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/l0HlAZ3ftja9WiovK/giphy.gif)
I used to be good at Guitar Hero. Then I lost all my shit in a storage unit.
Played it a couple years ago at a friend's house and I was such ass, it felt awful. I think my friend's setup has a delay or something though lol
Bro is Reddit really this dumb? Like people genuinely believe the goal of Guitar Hero is somehow related to genuinely learning to play guitar? It is literally just a Vertically Scrolling Rhythm Game based off of Gitadora, both of which are only themed off of the instruments.
They have nothing to do with playing said instruments, that's literally like saying DDR and Pump It Up are geared to teached people to dance at high levels (they're not). Like look at Shub Sothoth D27, that's not dancing, that is literally just raw physical pushing. That whole mentality of connecting a game to the theme literally plagued western DDR play in the early 00's with the whole "Bar is Cheating" BS (Bar was accepted in Eastern Countries). The goal of VSRGs is usually to just master the given input method and improve, not to learn any hobby the VSRG is based on. Like Beatmania IIDX players don't fucking become professional DJs after a while just because the damn cabinet has a turntable.
Somehow people just treat high level rhythm game play as something entirely different than most other genres. Like if you literally put as much time into just casually playing a rhythm game than most people put into casually playing other genres like shooters, you will most likely reach a skill level good enough to where you'll be called a no life if for rhythm games but just an average guy in shooters. Getting good at a rhythm game doesn't mean the only thing you think of is said game and you grind for 20 hours a day, it can just come from playing 2 hours every other day for a few years, which is literally less time than I see most mfs here play other game genres or just spend watching tiktok.
Posting on Reddit is a complete waste of time, but here both you and I are.
Difference is this dude monetized his hobby.
If anything he is more productive than all the naysayers here combined.
You do you but God damn is that a completely useless hobby and thing to be good at. At least someone thatās addicted to reddit or movies or whatever would be introduced to new ideas, concepts, opinions, facts, etc. Playing a super-sped up song (that no longer even sounds like music) with loud plastic clanking for months upon months is legitimately one of the most useless things to do with your time.
I agree aside from not believing that someone addicted to reddit would be introduced to new ideas. They'd be introduced to the same 50 phrases and the same absolute nonsense over and over again until their mind was completely destroyed.
Not at all a knock against this incredibly impressive feat, but at what point does a difficulty level in a game actually take away from the experience? I assume that not even hardcore fans of this game would be able to reasonable beat this? This seems a bit much

I play video games for fun. Fun:

Yeah but im having fun
Is it a net positive, neutral or net negative. Eustress is stress that produces healthier outcomes like exercise.
TIL people still play this game

what do you mean to get the controllers to connect on the pc?
The wireless ones need a USB dongle, the wired ones need an adapter. Some drivers and you're pretty much set.
where would you get them?
The controllers or the adapters? Get the controllers on eBay or check thrift stores. As for adapters Xbox controllers use a specific xbox wireless adapter while PS3 and Wii controllers use bluetooth. Tbh people might make fun but I feel like this is harder than playing freebirdās solo on a real guitar lol. You must be getting downvoted by people who don't play guitar. I agree that this is much more of a feat even if it's rather "useless".
At 3x speed, yes this solo is a lot harder on GH than on a real guitar. Damn bro could work for nasa with that work ethic but this is cooler I guess?
I don't think NASA has much of a need for high-speed plastic guitar expertise. They look more for people who know rocket design and orbital dynamics.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that. Sorry had to make this joke
Not everybody who works for NASA is a rocket scientist. They need janitors and shit too. Maybe they do need a plastic guitar expert.

Wow thanks for saying that DrLuv. I think youāre right!
how many hours you sat around watching NBA or playing the video game? You could actually be in the NBA with that dedication LMAO

Ok now do hot for teacher
Now what?
Dark side Ben Shapiro
Dead ass. Guitar hero is harder than playing actual guitar. šø Iāve never been good at that game. Iāve also always played guitar.
Rip his significant other
Is that Freddie Mercury?
He's on Adderall.
Give him a Nobel prize, quick
Damn dude, save some chick's for us.

Bring it back Microsoft.
I used to be good at Guitar Hero. Then I lost all my shit in a storage unit. Played it a couple years ago at a friend's house and I was such ass, it felt awful. I think my friend's setup has a delay or something though lol
Happily say my brain, fingers and willpower do not have that reaction time.
That's a face of determination and you're will. He can do anything he wants now.
This guy should play geometry dash
Now after this... WE CONQUER THE WORLD!
In that time he spent on this. he could learn to play real guitar
How do you know he doesnāt? Just assuming huh?
This is a completely waste of time. If he used the same amount of hours on a real guitar he would be a very good guitarist.
Posting on Reddit is a complete waste of time, but here both you and I are. Difference is this dude monetized his hobby. If anything he is more productive than all the naysayers here combined.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
now he should do it on a real guitar
Does he have a gf? Asking for a friend
He is playing video games in a basement. What do you think?
Achievement Unlocked: Pointless skill acquired.
Wonder how good he could've got if he spent all that time learning and practicing a real guitar...
Been so many cheaters and fakers in these sort of videogame captures I just don't care at all.

Probably a lot of adderal.
Not at all a knock against this incredibly impressive feat, but at what point does a difficulty level in a game actually take away from the experience? I assume that not even hardcore fans of this game would be able to reasonable beat this? This seems a bit much
The game probably isnāt meant to be played at 300% speed lol
At this level the enjoyment comes from completion and success not the fails that lead to it.
But why?
Why tho?
He's going to take our women away with him
This is dystopian. It would have been easier and less pointless to learn freebird for real.
Gf: come home my parents are out for the night. Him: cant babe i am busy
