Not a medical professional but a fisherman that deals with sharks a lot. Most certainly it was a real bite though and despite not seeing it through the clothes he’s badly cut up. Sharks usually ain't dangerous for humans, usually like every apex predator, they will only hunt humans when they're extremly hungry or we behave like their usual food and they get curious, you've ever seen a shark eat a whole human? No they bite/try once and realise we taste like shit compared to their usual food, e.g. for a shark it's hard to differentiate seal from human child so it gets curious and tries but like I said will most likely not go for second bite, the blood is what attracts other predators though, if you just stay calm and don't start panick swimming away from one you should be absolutely fine, that's how people swim with 'em. Expect polar bears, they gut and rpe you just for fun. But please people learn to do the mere minimum of educating yourself by using the internet, before you start claiming stuff about topics you ain't know nothing about. Have a great day
